✓ By far my favourite game of all time!Love the puzzles and the villagers you look after, name, dress, reproduce. I love simulation games that you can look after things over time and create something of your own! I just really hope there’s going to be new updates of new places and worlds or even different versions of this game to create your own world with animals or something and more creatures or unique places! ✓ Love the game, but I do wish some things were different..I love all of these games, Virtual Villagers And Virtual families, they’re all so fun to play! I also like how this one gives you the option to do in app purchases, unlike the other games (I think), but everything is so expensive and I definitely agree with other players, it does take WAY longer to accumulate tech points and craft items. Although I do think that the crafting is a nice new feature but I feel like it just takes over the game, everything is pretty much centered around being able to craft items. I think that instead of real money, we should be able to purchase items with the lava stones (special items like the lemur and bird etc.) and tech points for other items (crafted items, items to craft with) rather than spending 10 dollars on some lava stones and then using those to get tech points. I also wish there were more buildings and what not to build. But something I do enjoy is that you can spin the wheel to get an instant adept farmer, perfect villager etc., however I wish we could just pick which one we wanted instead of trying to spin and get the exact one you want, that’s a lot of lava stones. But overall I love the game and gameplay! It has the same feel and graphics of the older ones! I love it and will always play these games!.Version: 1.5.7

✓ I really like this gameI only previously played the first virtual villagers game and I rather loved it despite the waiting, but I always felt worried I’d miss something important and so left it on pause a lot when I wasn’t actively watching it. (Maybe because I frequently played on double speed) This, since it doesn’t have double speed, has forced me to slow down and let it run in the background and I find I’m enjoying it a lot more. I love the crafting element to bring some extra manual effort into a mostly wait-and-watch simulation and I’m not put off by the lava stones (actually I haven’t seemed to run into an ‘ad cap’ so I got the first crafting hut upgrade on my second day of playing while farming ads and watching tv). Though I do wish I could get the lemur or heron houses without real money. I can’t afford to spend any money sadly as I am unable to work and so have no income. Wish I could support your studio by buying one of the upgrades or the other games in your series that weren’t free but I simply don’t have the funds even for something as small as $10. That said it’s still a fun free game and an improvement over the first one..Version: 1.5.7
✓ Great gameI’ve played several of these Virtual Village games and enjoyed them all, but this is one of their best. I like the challenge of the puzzles and watching the village grow. It really has the potential to keep adding chapters to the same game, hint hint. ^_^ I’m actually playing it all over again as I lost my original game when my old phone died. Enjoying it just as much the second time around as I don’t have all the puzzles memorized by any means so some detective work is still needed. I intend to try the new survival option soon. ✓ Tech system is waaaay too hard!!!!I have been playing virtual villagers since I was little and always enjoyed them. The only difference with this one is the tech system! It is so hard to get anything researched without enough tech points. You’ll be waiting a very long time to acquire enough to upgrade technologies. ✓ Another great Virtual VillagersHave always love the Virtual Villagers games and this is no exception. Great puzzles, some quite tricky to solve which I like! Couple of things I think could be improved on, it takes a long time to accumulate the Tech points required for level 2 and 3 which can be a bit mundane. Also question why children don’t increase their ‘gathering’ skill for collecting frogs and mushrooms. Appreciate the daily reward and the option of watching a quick clip to reduce crafting times. ✓ Love it but some bugs are becoming bothersomeI’m now in survival mode, with a Reckoning plague having fallen over my villagers. My iPad accidentally (sneakily) updated to the latest version the other night - 15.1. I’m not sure that’s when the problems got worse but it’s possible. When I’m crafting something, be it 5 minute vines, something that takes 8 hours, or something I’ve used lava stones to speed up, completing the item just doesn’t work well. It tells me it’s saving the game, but then hangs. If I leave the game and come back in, I’ll either find the bowl empty if I’ve waited long enough, or it still says it is complete. Before the iOS update, it was touch and go as to whether it would insist on saving or not. But saving would take under a minute or so. 10 minutes is not unheard of. The Plague survival mode is tough as there are few opportunities for a villager to get any healing skills. No frogs, and they are rarely officially “sick”. Yet things can’t proceed without a villager with enough healing skills. Nobody can administer a vaccine..Version: 3.1.4

✓ Nice wee gameI enjoy playing this game, it fun trying to work out what to do next, sometime not all that clear but that’s the point. Some thing do take awhile to craft so you have to have patience but you can pass the time training up your villagers. I spent money to get a few extra thing like the lemur that goes automatically down the cracks to collect things, but you really don’t need it to complete the puzzles, I just love watching it waking about the village lol. ✓ Not for the impatientThis is a game to take your time with. Yes, everything takes ages, (tech points, villager skills etc) but there is plenty to puzzle over. Not an intuitive game, but finding out what you can do is part of the puzzle. £9.99 IS a lot of money for the lemur and the perch, but guess what? You don’t need them. I’ve not yet managed to get all skills maxed for one villager in one VV lifetime (or even 3 as it turns out; but you can resurrect any villager in exchange for lava stones) but if like me you can’t solve a particular puzzle, then it just means you need to try it differently. This is a game you can really get your teeth into, and involves a lot more thought than the usual mindless crap you find in the games App Store. ✓ So addicting!I can’t help but say this is the most challenging yet perfect game ever! But there are a few catches for instance food, it’s very hard for me to grow yet collect food since by time it runs out and I have to wait probably 3 hours which is annoying for me . Also I remember that I used to force my villagers to research for tech points soon after they all became master scientists which carried in the genes then all their kids became scientists which was annoying cause I barely had any builders, healers or farmers. And lastly I don’t know why but every time my villagers have kids their names r like NUMBERS e.g. seven, two, three so please don’t make that stuff like names since then I have to change them. It is frustrating that you have to wait so long for things to be done, but that is the whole point of the game. It isn’t supposed to be played in a day or 2 or 3 like most games. It can be overwhelming if u r not used to it but once u get used to it, I found that I look forward to checking the progress of my villagers each day (or twice a day) and performing tasks needed at that time. ✓ Enchanting & Engrossing GameThis is a delightful game with which you can spend an interesting half hour setting everything up and figuring out a couple of challenges and then leave it for a day or so and come back and enjoy all the progress your villagers have made. My advice is to set most of your villagers up on autopilot (specializing in just one skill) and pick four or five favourites to concentrate developing mastery of all skills. ✓ Fun and ChallengingI’ve been a fan of the other games for years. I love any type of Sim(ulated) game. Another review said it takes too long for things to get done but I prefer it that way so I’m not glued to my phone all day! It’s definitely addicting though. You can put it down but you will come back. Graphics are getting better and better. I love how you can change the outfits and there’s plenty of ways to earn free lava stones, tech points and food. Otherwise if you pay for the lava stones I feel they are asking for a respectable price. I would very much love a chapter two and I’m not even done with chapter one. ✓ I Love It - But I’ve Come Across a BugSo, I love these games, I’m practically addicted, but I encountered a problem after resting my game (so I can start all over again) and I had no tutorial. That’s all fine and dandy, I just played as I usually would. Four hours later a tutorial shows up, I’m confused, but I try do it in hopes of it going away. It doesn’t. I got stuck on the coconut husk fire thing, and can’t get out of tutorial! Every time I try use a villager, it doesn’t work! I’m get frustrated, closing and reopening the app doesn’t work, resetting the game doesn’t work (it stays the same game), and uninstalling and reinstalling doesn’t work! ✓ Needs more chapters to be completeAs many have stated it is a tediously long wait for things to be crafted. I tend to put things in to be crafted then pop off for the day. Not sure who puts the prices on items but they really are ludicrously exorbitant. Absolutely no game is worth hundreds of dollars, euros, drachmas, etc. I am assuming it is Apple as the pricing seems pretty much across the board with all in-house purchase games which is shameful. Overall, the game is fine (I have the desktop/laptop and iPad version. Desktop is preferable, even though one cannot get the frog-eating bird with perch, or a few other things. The max # of folk is, from memory, 30 something (that’s with all totems and completed game - chaps 1 and 2). Absolutely needs another chapter or two - to make the continued accrual of tech points worthwhile. I have well over 10 million on the desktop! And well over 1 million in food. ✓ Happy with this game however...I used to love playing these games on PC when I was younger and have just downloaded this app. I am currently really enjoying it! However the only things I would critique is the fact that the villagers seem a bit “dim” when left alone while your not playing the app. Therefore, I once didn’t play the app for around 24 hours and some of my villagers died from starvation when there was more than enough food available in the food hut. Alongside this, some of the in game purchases can be very expensive/ unrealistic to get without spending actual money. I also like that there’s a second chapter of puzzles. The one issue that I’ve been having is with the crafting hut. After crafting enough things to get the red glass (which takes several days to get there), the game deleted the glass and the items needed to make it. The only thing i don’t like is that the coconut tree runs out way to quickly. I had to start over so many times, mostly my choice, but the last time was because i didn’t have enough tech points. ✓ GoodLDW games are some of my favorite. I have been playing them on my computer more than 10 years, and happy they now have them for devices/phones. I love the new experience and def the look and graphics. Biggest pet peeve though is how long it takes for crafting. Agree with everyone else that it’s hard to complete with just 1 slot. You can Farm lava stones were sitting and watching TV and just muting adds. It takes a while and if you’re patient it works. I also dislike how long it takes to save things constantly. The wheel is always spinning and glitching that it’s saving something. I haven’t noticed a lot of island events like I’ve seen through some of the walk through pages talk about. Hopefully as I get further along, I see more. I have been playing for five days and completed the first six puzzles. Looking forward to seeing how it all turns out in the end..Version: 2.5.6

✓ I love this game!The quality is SO improved in comparison to the first game. I like the new island set up, and even how you can choose/have more freedom to pick what skills your villagers have. The game overall is enjoyable— it’s a lot less easy to have your villagers die, they’re a lot more independent, which I appreciate because I don’t have to be on it 24/7. I also love the naming feature! A great addition. The only thing I would suggest for he future is to make an apprenticeship system— like, you can pair up an adult and a young one so that the little one has a little experience in a craft, AND the adult would gain teaching experience. ✓ Great game butIt force quits every time I try to get the resources I craft when they are ready from the crafting hut. This is in normal and survival mode. ✓ Glitch - Saving game in crafting hutI love this game. I’ve been playing VV games for years. I’m having an issue with VVO2 though. Every time an item is completed in the crafting hut, it saves after each item collected. It saves for a VERY long time. ✓ Virtual VillagersA proper game at last. Have spent hours and hours crafting substances. Still haven’t managed to catch air. Paid £4.99 for lemur when it was on special offer, but it never arrived. Have managed well without it though. Am going on holiday for a month mostly without WiFi, so am stocking up on lava to reincarnate people in case the originals all die off. Found the cheats web site which has saved hours, especially with crafting crafted items, but some of sense of achievement has been lost. ✓ Great gameI have loved this series since Virtual Villagers: Origins. I love this game and all it’s challenges, especially now that Chapter 2 is available. The only downside is that every now and then when I craft an item that usually takes 12-48hrs, the game will progress but the item being crafted will remain at the time it was when I exited the game last thus waiting a whole extra day or longer if it bugs out again. I also will play the game consecutively for days and am never able to reach the 6th day of the daily loot that floats in. It automatically diverts to day 1 as if I had missed a day of playing when in fact I have not. I don’t know if anyone else has had these issues but I do feel like I am missing out on certain things in the game. Other than that, this game is top notch and can’t wait to advance to Chapter 2 once I can finally get the items I need for the last puzzle..Version: 2.0.6

✓ Takes too long but funThis game is a really nice concept, and it’s a lot of fun to play. However, everything takes much too long to complete because all of the crafting times take so long, and in order to have more than one crafting station open you need a lot of diamonds that are hard to get unless you want to pay a significant amount of money. If you could trade in tech points for lava Stones, especially since once you upgrade everything there’s no use for tech points anymore, It would be a lot better. Even if it was like 5 million tech points for 100 lava Stones, which would still take a long time to accumulate, it will be better than nothing at all. The puzzles are fun to solve and play, but once again they take days and days to finish because some of the crafting times are anywhere from 10 hours to over 24 hours, and you’re given just the one station to work with unless, again, you want to pay almost $30-40 to get enough lava Stones to upgrade to have the other two stations open. So, while I really enjoy the game, you have to be very very patient when playing it and it has to be a game you just play for a few minutes once a day because you’re going to have to wait until the following day to be able to move on with most of the puzzles once you start getting to the heart of puzzles..Version: 2.5.6

Perhaps I was unable to play as often as necessary, but I found the need to restart to be so frustrating because I wanted to develop my people and allow them to succeed at learning new skills and contributing to the island society. I feel like this game nails the pacing to the point where I don’t need to check in super often, but I can check in for 30-60 minutes a day and accomplish things. I would love a chapter 2, although I am still very early into chapter 1. As a side note, I also love the creation of the crafting hut! ✓ Good, but too focused on craftingI enjoy the game, but feel that it strays too far from other Virtual Villagers games with the crafting. At first, it was fun, but I think the crafting quickly takes over the game. The amount of time it takes things to craft doesn’t make sense with the pace of the rest of the game. I shouldn’t be able to finish repairing three buildings before I can even make a single forge bucket. I amassed millions of tech points waiting for things to finish crafting to complete the statues, and now with chapter two, I quickly maxed out all of the technologies and am once again waiting for things to finish crafting. Meanwhile, I see no purpose for my villagers. I think there should be more puzzles that don’t require as much crafting. Side note, why are all these villagers white? They should be burning up under this tropical sun. Women nursing for so long and thus not being able to become masters as quickly as man just puts real inequality into gameplay, which just seems unnecessary. Why do they have to have last names? ✓ Love VV but...I’ve played the majority of the VV games, and I absolutely love it! From the intriguing puzzles, to finding new resources and maxing out the villagers’ skills. However one disappointing point about this new game is the fact that there are too many, and too expensive in-game purchases. It was so much better when you would pay for the game and it was much easier to gain tech points, food and other resources. It can be a deal breaker, and many games now are like that: at top level they are free, but to be able to make it through the game you have to at some point buy something. I would suggest going back to the old model, I would rather pay £1.99 or £0.99 for a game and be able to play it without having to watch ads or having to spend my salary on things to help me complete a game..Version: 2.3.24

In the original version you could make stew/soup for the whole village which was great, so I would love to see this option in chapter 2. Just one question why are the scientists so contrary, they are forever wandering off either curious about something or washing themselves, sunning, swimming you name it but the farmers work their little socks off, also it would be nice to see them retire, oh and what's the point of the huts when they can't go in them? I have noticed some more problems since the update though; crafted items which should be ready for collection disappearing, and having to look at a 'saving village' pop up for a few minutes until an ad eventually starts playing. ✓ Cannot stop playingFound this game just before UK went into lockdown , and I’m so glad 😂 I use to play vv on PC as a kid and loved it ! the puzzles are the prefect length of time and I love the crafting system. There are minor bugs for example my gold pan has vanished but nothing that’ll ruin the game. ✓ YesaksI grew up on playing the virtual villager series. However they were extremely difficult and I would find myself getting stuck on puzzles and getting confused. With this game the puzzles are so much clearer and easier to manage. The crafting aspect is really unique and fascinating to figure out. Also getting research points is a ton easier and I find myself getting more immersed in the game because I actually find myself getting excited to get farther in the game. The idea of the amulets you can spin the wheel to get is a really awesome feature and definitely makes the game better. I like the idea of the fire stones and find myself using them a lot. My only dislike is how much the upgrades cost. 10$ to spend in game is a lot of money. If there was a way to lower those costs it would be a perfect game!.Version: 1.5.7
