✓ Lots of bugsIf you use a smart phone it often has trouble reconnecting to the unit once you get back into the truck. and the app constantly crashes, ive had to delete and re download it several times which causes you to lose all of your HOS logs. quite concerning in the event you are stopped by an inspector.Version: 7.10
✓ ClunkyI doubt they talked with many drivers when it came to the user interface. I found it to be clunky not very intuitive. I also believe it is a huge mistake to lock out the application until you buy and install the Bluetooth adapter. People want to test this type of app BEFORE dropping $150 on the adapter. Luckily I borrowed an adapter from a friend so I could tryout the app. I’m glad I didn’t waste my money on buying the adapter..Version: 7.90
✓ ErrorAnyone else notice when you put your BOL on the manage shipment nothing appears on the inspection report where it says shipping ID, garmin please look into this.Version: 8.70
✓ Keeps deletingAbout every week it keeps deleting my account and I have to creat new ones and it’s very frustrating this morning when I logged in and drive after about an hour it said deactivated and again have to create a new account.Version: 7.80
✓ Bad equipmentsIt’s a really bad equipments, why Because it’s disconnected from your truck with no reason and all data in it’s eld is disappeared and not any more available to review it This happens with me several times with no reason, I never disconnected it from my Truck and when that’s happened so you need to download garmin elog again and start over as a new user Not recommend.Version: 7.80
✓ Total crap!!!switch before you get in troubleEverything was great and I was happy as everything was going smooth but suddenly after my latest iPhone update my entire elog got reset and all my driver / admin info for lost. Not good at all Garmin. Then I switch using it with my new purchased Garmin dezl 780. Again it was working great as in the middle of my travel o lost all logs and ask to reset the driver. Like somebody intentionally removed all my logging info. I am here at loves in West Virginia amd going to get a paper log! Why shame Garmin what a shame . When I get home I start to look for a serious eld solution . Now I am considering to change to another platform..Version: 7.70
✓ Tired of thisUsed to work just fine but for the past 6 months I’ve been having to delete, re-install and restore the app from a previous back up because when I need to start my week the app won’t even let me login. 6 months and they haven’t fix this issue for iPhone. ✓ It’s a necessary evil.I am not impressed. It glitches frequently putting me on drive time when I’m not. Doesn’t keep track of the total daily hours. Making corrections is impossible. So when it glitches you are screwed.Version: 6.91
✓ App is brokenIt doesn’t work on my new iPhone but works on my old iPhone 5. Keeps crashing and deleting driver profile causing me to have to delete the app and lose logs and reinstall to set up driver profile again. The app needs to be fixed, completely broken..Version: 7.70
✓ OutdatedI have this garming Eld. App looks outdated. The features are outdated. You need a usb stick to get your data of the eld. Why can’t the information get save in the tablet automatically? I hate that weekly I’ll have to plug an usb to get my data of. When you edit a log date, driver needs to accept it, im tired of accepting it and it still there. Garmin really needs to address this issues and the outdated looks on the app.Version: 8.50
✓ Deletes admin accountThis issue with deleting admin accounts needs tone fixed. Clearly I’m not the only one, and being unable to reliably use the device opens us drivers up to fines..Version: 7.80
✓ Do Not Purchase!I was super excited to try this and from the beginning it’s been plagued with issues. Finally the last straw was that it wiped me out and forced me to recreate a new account so I lost 2 weeks of logs and their solution was well create a new account, backup daily, Wait for a patch or find a new ELD. ✓ It doesn’t have hours of shift leftIt only has hours until break, hours of drive left, hours available tomorrow, and hours available in week. Nothing for how long until your 14 hours is up which is frustrating, it also changes to off duty sometimes when you were in off duty personal conveyance so when you start driving again it switches you to on duty driving. Otherwise a decent app I haven’t had any other problems..Version: 6.90
✓ Would not recommendThis ELD is not worth the money, it has many issues that go along with duty status as well as THE ELD KEEPS DELETING PREVIOUS LOGS AND YOU HAVE TO START OVER. This has happened to me twice, sure you can back them up but after EVERY SINGLE DAY? I’m supposed to sit in the truck more to back up my logs? No, I’ll be searching for a DIFFERENT ELD..Version: 7.10
✓ App keeps crashing and can’t recover filesMy driver needs a reliable eld with a functioning app, but this is not it. It works fine most days but then suddenly it forgets your login, logs you out, and keeps crashing not letting you access anything. My driver now has to reinstall the app and lose his past 7 logs. He has to risk being fined for not having the logs of the past week because of this unreliable app..Version: 7.10
✓ Piece of crapFirst the app would crash and I would have to Reenter all my admin and driver information, I was able to fix that by saving it a jump drive and back up data but then came the government audit and the CSV file wouldn’t upload to Garmin eLog Web Portal. Called support and they ‘created a file’ Leaving me hanging! Very Frustrating! Support said they were having a small amount of ‘cases’ and no one could help me that day. Do not buy this product! It’s a scam! Garmin needs to pull this product off the shelves!.Version: 7.90
✓ No Canadian or Alaskan rulesets.If you are a driver that crosses the Canada/US border frequently, Garmin’s support page says to just track your own hours, even though the app’s going to throw violations at you. What a wonderful thing to show the scale officials during an inspection. “Oh sorry officer, my log doesn't support Canadian hours.” I’ve complained, expressed the benefit for their customers, and an edge over their competitors if they would add the missing rulesets, but each time receive a quick but form-letter response. ✓ Not compatible with IPad Mini 6.IPad mini 6 is listed but is not actually compatible or available for download on the mini 6th gen. I bought the iPad because it was listed as working and I’m very disappointed in the lack of oversight on Garmin’s behalf. I need this for DOT compliance and now need to find an alternative solution. ✓ GarbageWords can’t explain how much I hate this app and the piece of junk eLog device. Ever since I’ve bought it and used this app it’s nothing but issues one after another. First off the eLog doesn’t even read my miles on my truck. Secondly I have times where it acts like it’s disconnected. Lastly this has happened more then once it wants to erase all my information with my logs and reports now I have to literally start over with new logs I have no driving history or nothing try explaining that to a Dot or cop.Version: 7.70
✓ On duty deducts from drive time?Wondering why being on duty is taking away from my drive time? If I’m on duty, it should be taking away from the daily on duty time and not the drive time. When I finally am in driving, I’ve already lost whatever time I was in on duty from my drive time. Is there a fix for this?.Version: 8.50
