✓ Good game but require lot of grindingIf you’re not hard core gamer I don’t recommend this game, it require many repeatable quests in order to get thru different levels. The drop rate are super low for high rank weapon and armour. I spent one day to do one quest for rank A item without a single drop, what a joke!.Version: 1.0.5
✓ Its trying to be Dark Souls, its not.This is a great game, as far as mobile games are concerned. My only real qualm is that it wants to convince you that its a dark souls clone, its not. The gameplay is far more simplistic, and lacks many key elements that make Dark Souls what it is. Its also not nearly as difficult. Dark souls isn't even that hard, but this game has yet to provide me with any sort of real challenge. Again its good, its just not what it sells itself to be..Version: 1.0.4
✓ Challenge acceptedNot many ios games out there make you want to learn ALL the moves and mechanics of the game. This one does! The game itself is beautiful (if you like medieval things) and the animation is smooth with responsive controls. This is definitely no button masher, if you play this like that you will die.... a lot, however, the more you get battered the more you come back for a second helping. ✓ Pretty Good!A bit rough around the edges, but pretty good! I can definitely see the inspiration from games like Monster Hunter / Dark Souls. There was only one technical issue I had (it didn’t hinder gameplay), where if the enemy is to aggro you through an object it would automatically lock on the enemy through the object. As for quality-of-life issues, not having the ability to change stick inversion in the pause menu was a problem as I jumped right into the game and struggled with the camera through the entire first area (not fun!), but after I found the options menu in the map that was fixed. An option to rebind the MFI controller keys to different buttons would be a nice touch (there were so many times I kept trying to press X to light attack). There are a couple of things I wasn’t a fan of, but understand why because of the limitation of the hardware/ size of the project; such as level scope, amount of enemies, visual effects, and lack of voice acting outside of particular moments. Given its price tag, scope of the game as a whole, and the quality of gameplay I can easily recommend this game to anyone a fan of action-rpg genre. ✓ Good but...I get what this game is going for. It’s attempting to be Dark Souls for the iDevices. If Dark Souls’ saying is “Prepare to Die”, the Animus’ should be “Prepare to Grind”. I’m not far into the game but so far, the starting gear is vastly superior to all the gear that I’m acquiring, which seems to be making it harder to get further into the game (because the starting gear isn’t that great). You pay for the game but there are IAP to ‘speed’ your progress. I use that term lightly because for around $10 you can get 2000 gems. But the game’s market is crazy expensive so you’re paying 1000 gems for X or 2000 for Y. Basically, after buying the game and additional $10 gets you barely anything. The fighting system is good but it feels a little sluggish. Combo that with some bosses stun-lock you makes for a bit of a frustrating experience. The graphics are gorgeous. The levels are quite short so they are quick to play through which is always welcome. I’ll keep grinding away and see if the game reveals itself. So far, while initially very cool, the grinding is going to get old fast..Version: 1.0.4
✓ Micro transactions soulsCan’t believe you pay for a game yet you still need to pay micro transactions, 2000gems for revives is insane and in the later stages it’s a must, okay you can sit and watch adds but that’s not good enough and the worst thing is the games is very good UPDATE* After I posted this review I kept playing, I’m now on NG+ with a lightening hammer with upgraded level B amour from head to toe with around 8 revives Even though my original review stands I’ll admit that I jumped the gun It’s dark souls on you’re phone and I hope the devs are currently working on a sequel.Version: 1.1.5

✓ DARK SOULS AS AN APP!It’s a pretty good game. Can’t get much better for an mobile app game. Good graphics, decent controls. The one reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because it doesn’t really explain how to do the lvl stats. The perks your leveling up really do I’m more building on assumption of what they do as soon as those are fixed or send me a complete instructions on this game Id would give it a 5* rating but all in all I don’t see why people are giving bad reviews this is about as good as it gets for an app game.Version: 1.0.5

✓ THE GAME IS HARD!If you were a dark souls fan who loved life or death being decided by a mere half second decision to either dodge or block. If you enjoyed having to fight the same boss over and over again to learn his attack and the best way to react and find his opening this game is for you. The first boss alone I needed few DOZEN tries to beat (partly because I have a broken screen that wasn’t properly registering my button presses) because the game is extremely difficult I’m not talking Dark souls 3 difficult I’m talking like the first dark souls with the pure merciless pain to go with it. I love it but apparently I’m a glutton for punishment. Please don’t buy the game if you’re gonna rage quit the first boss who is really easy if you use the revives.... the negative review isn’t fair to the developers who did a great job creating a game that doesn’t hold your hand because they wanted to appeal to people that enjoy a challenge..Version: 1.0.3
✓ THE CLOSEST YOU CAN GET TO DARK SOUL!!This game is a masterpiece, it can be a little scary, and hard but it’s an amazing game. It is easier than it looks. It can be a little tricky but once you get the right moves down you will always succeed. If you like games like dark souls, I highly recommend this game! The graphics are pretty, and the game runs smooth like water. The levels aren’t really long but it is still very fun. It will drain your iPhone’s battery, but you probably already expected that from a game that will make your phone work harder than usual. ✓ Great and refreshing expand upon IreI was skeptical at first that this would be a reskinned ire, which it kind of is, but it’s wild what new level design and a new fresh third person behind the shoulder perspective will do to the game. My only issue with this franchise is that there are really only like 5 weapons, with each weapon having a few different elemental types. I’m guessing that is what the game was built around. Handed down my XboxOne to my son with my Souls Games on em and found these gems. Typical farming necessary, upgrading balanced, unique bosses. Love it. ✓ IncredibleExactly what I'd expect from a Souls mobile game. The levels are smaller for on the go. The action is great. It requires a lot of skill and you WILL get stuck at places. Just keep trying, you'll either git gud or get lucky. For those who are just starting, stick with either lance or greatsword. I'm at day 6 in this game and it's just a matter of getting all the items i want. Which brings me to my next point, what's with the super low drop rate on tachi and gatekeeper armor. Even with consecrate, I'm only getting S grade equipment. I've used over 500 memory shards just to get an eastern sword S+. -1 star for the drop rates on some items. ✓ The GrindI love playing this on my iPhone 8 Plus. It’s nice to really show off the excellent graphics in this game. I haven’t run into any lag or performance spikes. Take warning: if you don’t want to replay levels over and over again, don’t play the game. You have to grind each level for experience and gold, along with upgrade materials, not to mention weapons and armor. All of the items have chances of dropping. ✓ Thanks for being realI bought this game after reading all the reviews some say clunky controls some say overly difficult fights ranging from insta gibbing, down to being swamped in numbers... and perhaps the only reason im not giving it a full 5 stars. I see allot of Souls/Borne (RIP scrubs lol) style, and a “crafting” system to add, looks allot like Ire which is fine with me as i enjoyed that game as well. The main thing that made me want to get this game was the fact that you all, speaking to the developers, are active in responding to the community and working with us, which me personally, speaks volumes. Im just now downloading it so im excited to give this game a whirl, my only true hope is that this doesnt become a money game, where you eventually have to start tossing absurd amounts of money just to progress... ✓ Controls unresponsiveThe game is hard as everyone has stated. The challenge presented in the game would not be such a deal breaker if the controls were more responsive. The developer has stated in several replies that controls are unresponsive due to lag from device capabilities and offered a fix by lowering the graphics quality. However, upon trying this, I have come to realize it’s not a problem with device capabilities. It is an unresponsive control issue and, more specifically, an issue blocking with the shield. First off, the game ran very smoothly on any graphics setting. Secondly, it takes about an extra second for the shield block to respond. Most of the time, I’m blocking before the boss even swings its weapon. It’s still too late and I’m taking damage cause it just simply responds too late. Please fix for 5 stars.Version: 1.0.5
✓ Perfect dark souls mobileJust needs char customization and open world.. tbh... it’s amazing regardless though :) I love the combat technique and stamina skill needed to win. I have the a-ranked eastern set so far max level. ✓ ExcellentPeople who gave this game a bad review are not used to play a high quality game like Animus. This game is not that difficult nor have clunky controls. If you have play dark souls you’ll completely understand how this game is played. It just require a little bit of farming to get more advanced equipment as you progress into stronger opponents and by the way the drop rate is not bad at all( not like scamming fermiuns that make grinding unbearable and you still end up having to spend ridiculous amounts of money in order to progress into a linear repetitive boring game). The environment theme, the music, combat with beautiful ( and what’s more important ) real moves like combos, the challenge of it, absolutely great dodge mechanics, the tactical aspect. All these are 10 out of 10. These guys cranking out masterpieces and Ire: blood memory also one of them. Somebody wrote that it’s a button smasher and gave this game one ⭐️. Let me assure you that if you mindlessly smash buttons you probably will not beat stage 3 😁. Check the trailer and if it looks like something you enjoy, you will be blown away. ✓ Perfect in every sense of the word HARD and I like it! Good Job Guys!The game is pretty hard a first, the controllers may seem unresponsive at first, but tweaking with the settings can fix it. Now lets talk about the dodging, it took me a long time to kinda figure out that there is a very small opening where you become “Invulnerable” attacks, but some how the hit box of some of the monsters is crazy, like standing behind and still getting hit from a front swing that completely missed me. And the drop rate is crazy, doing a mission 25+ times to be rewarded the same D tier items, while having 5+ Droppable C Items is crazy if you ask me. (I only have the C tier helmet for that mission) Maybe you guys can tweak it a little bit more. But overall no complains! Awesome game! Hope to see more from you guys..Version: 1.1.6

✓ It’s great with one main problem.I got this game as I am a huge Bloodborne fan and all around fan of the genre. Graphics are very impressive, gameplay is pretty good, and I understand the need for a grind. Here’s the main problem. The game does not seem to be that challenging at all really. Maybe it’s because I’m not super far into the game, and maybe it will get harder as I go, but I really don’t see much difficulty in it. The gameplay and all that is super similar to the Soulsborne series, so great job on that, but I just don’t think the difficulty is there, and difficulty is a big part of that genre..Version: 1.2.0

✓ Not badThe game is pretty good. I like the souls like genre so when this game showed up I was just pretty excited to play it. The gameplay is good, some mechanics are almost useless such as dodging and blocking g, at least compared to console games and the Soulsborne series. You get use to them though. But the bosses are pretty good, and fun to fight, though everything leading up to the boss is simply a chore. My problems with the game are that levels are copy and pasted quite a bit, and even some of the bosses are reused several times. And the grinding is ridiculous sometimes. A lot of the time you have to fight one boss farming for equipment again and again until you are completely bored of the game to the point where you either don’t play again for days or you delete it for several months at a time. And I know the devs want it to be a grindy game, but there is far too much grinding to the point where players get bored. But honestly it’s a great GREAT game and you should buy it. It’s one of the best games on the App Store and it’s an awesome mobile souls like game. If you like the souls games and wanna play something like them on the go, then this game is perfect. Given how much preparation and assets the developers had with Ire, I expected more polish. Amazing game but I have some feedback: 1. Some animation times need cleaning up 2. Perhaps most importantly the inventory is awkward as hecc. The button to switch tabs is tiny. There has got to be a better way. 3. Hitboxes need tweaking Thats about it for major gripes. A smaller thing I would like added is the ability to dodge out of blocking by swiping right into the dodge button or the ability to use two fingers to dodge and then roll.Version: 1.0.5

The controls are surprisingly great for a game of this nature, although I feel for some of the tougher fights you will want to pick up a controller. You can see/feel all the devotion, effort and passion that went into this gem. A true spiritual successor to DS. You can tell the devs are gamers at heart. Full control support here. Which is GREATLY appreciated to the highest degree. But why devs? Why no Co-Op versus some amazing bosses in dungeon raids? Why? Such a missed opportunity. I would gladly pay for dlc that offers such co-op adventures like monster hunter freedom unite has done for iOS. I hope “Reality” of supporting a studio, bringing roi for investors, knock some senses in your head. ✓ DecentI had to change my review after playing the game much longer. I was determined to not waste my $8. I have to say that the graphics are decent. I wish there was much more explanation and a tutorial with various weapon types so people can learn faster. This game is HARD! Without the proper equipment and a lot of LUCK. You won’t win. I’m lvl 70 and still struggling in day 3. The weapons types make the game. Elemental weakness will help you anything else will slow you down. I really don’t like the inapp purchase after you’ve already paid $8. You need to take that out and increase drops. The shear difficulty and iAP makes it a 4 Star. Good game though..Version: 1.1.2
