✓ Le voile noir est un jeu touffu, sans direction.Juste un amoncellement de mini-jeux et de la longueur, ce qui ne rajoute rien à l’intérêt. Trop d’éléments sont juste effleurés, certains items carrément stupides et sans lien avec l’histoire. On commence avec des gens qui vieillissent, qu’on doit guérir et l’histoire part ensuite dans toutes les directions, comme si on avait assemblé des bouts disparates sans trop savoir vers où on s’en allait et la fin prouve ce manque d’idée directrice. ✓ Crap.This is not MY mystery case files. Nothing like the other ones. Map is awful, a circle with slashes in them. Feels dated even though new. Bad story line. Puzzles very hard even on custom. Bad instructions for puzzles. No hints to get you to look for puzzle pieces, or trophy’s. Morphing objects in hops, don’t show up right away you have to sit there. I will never buy a game again without trial first. Oh and this is from 2017. Since big fish is no longer showing dates on when games 1st came out..Version: 1.0.0

✓ DifferentThe puzzles were a bit too odd for my taste. Switching between three scenes, trying to figure out what I was supposed to do, just didn’t add to my enjoyment. I didn’t really like the artwork, either. It wasn’t clear enough for me to know what I was looking at, some of the time. I'll pass. Played it a second time, with the same reaction. I just don't like this game. The puzzles are just bizarre and not to my liking at all. Third time, just as bad. The artwork is dark and difficult to see. The puzzles are confusing, with directions that are difficult to interpret. I keep wondering how it got such a high rating..Version: 1.0.0
✓ Confusing and Pointless StorylineI normally like MCF and I do not have a problem with dark games, both in subject matter and artistic style. However, I found this game to be confusing. The puzzles were either super easy or totally confusing to the point I just skipped them. Not fun. My main issue was with the storyline, particularly the bonus game. I'm a UCLA grad, I should be able to follow a storyline, yet I seriously have no idea what happened in the (very brief) bonus game. The main game ending was not much better. Also, fans of HO's may be disappointed since there did not seem to be many. As for positives: there was a journal and teleporting map, puzzle pieces to find in each scene, morphing objects in HO scenes (although I didn't even realize this until I was nearly finished with the main game)..Version: 1.0.0

But the description said there's a bonus game and I do not see it in the extras menu. It is not offered from the start menu, either. ✓ Ok but slightly confusingNot entirely sure what the ending was all about or the motivations of Ankou but the puzzles were good. For those who can’t find the bonus chapter, make sure you select “Extras” at the bottom of the home screen rather than the settings button ... developers should have separated the two really to save confusion..Version: 1.0.0

✓ Puzzles impossible!I’m a LONG time player of BFGs and the main interest for me are adventure games and the puzzles..couldn’t care less about HOGs. Rarely used the skip button on those until this game! To say they were hard is an understatement... I even had to use the hint button for the hidden objects! If you want a real challenge, go for it... but I found it incredibly frustrating. The interactive map is kinda weird too. I’m sticking with it til the end since I paid, but the fun factor rates a negative since I needed so much hand-holding to get through it..Version: 1.0.0
✓ Insufficient directionsThe game was pretty good, but the mini puzzles were baffling. Not that I could get the answer - it was that the directions were so bad I couldn’t tell how to start finding the answer. ✓ More dark dreary ...Same ole same ole.... dark, dismal boring with nothing appealing except the overall concept IF it were to be designed and played without the stupid supernatural occult baloney. Why won't they design a true mystery or detective series without the boring magic ...tired of dark, paranormal themes ...games can be fun and spooky.. but now because if over doing the genre these games have lost all appeal and are just NOT fun anymore with this dull theming!! ✓ Good but where is the bonus game?I liked this game because the graphics are good but the hidden objects games were not the way Big Fish usually have them. Also I’m senior and after I use the question mark to tell me what to do in the puzzle games, I can’t remember it for very long so I have to be constantly going back and forth from the puzzle to the explanation of the puzzle. It would be so much better to have the instructions in a box on the side where I could refer to them often. Also where is the BONUS game? ✓ Really disappointedI have played all the mystery case file games so don’t know how I missed this one, where do I start, really dark so hard to find the puzzle pieces and when you do all you get is a picture in the extras, nothing to do yourself. The map is weird and takes some thought to understand it, some of the puzzles are really difficult. I never use the guide but this is the exception, had to look numerous times. ✓ Black Veil = Too Black!Update: Just played for a 2nd time. Game was worse than I remembered - it crashed before I was able to complete bonus chapter. Screen froze, I closed and reopened and could not get back to where you select bonus chapter, thereby rendering it is accessible for me to finish. Mini games were either laughably simple or diabolically impossible to understand. I would not buy this game for any more than a few dollars at the very most. (Playing on a newer iPad Pro) Major pros: VG graphics, what you'd expect from MCF.....some clever mini-games and HOPs (I like the game-within-a-game HOPs) Major cons: 1) Most HOPs are too dark - I thought they could have developed more cleverly-hidden objects, as opposed to just darkening the screen to make it more difficult. 2) The mini game instructions were either unclear, or made solving way too easy. No consistency. I've made this game last as I got easily bored/frustrated, and left it alone for a few days at a time. ✓ The black veilI’ve slowly suffered my way thru this game. I’ve found the theme of underground pipes and machinery tedious. Seems like all my recent games take me down into the villains underground territory. This game held true to that. Most of the actual missing object games are terribly difficult putting missing pieces back on machinery, and triple games fused together leading to total confusion. I’m hungry for an upbeat, fun game with many true missing object games that are FUN. Something I would want to get back to with positive characters and beautiful backdrop..Version: 1.0.0

✓ RidiculousI have over 60 BF games, most of which I truly love. Many of my favorites are MCF games. I don’t know what’s happened but Eipix seems to have lost the plot on this one. This storyline is absurd, characters are unimaginative, hidden object screens are just plain silly and the puzzles, which is my main reason for playing, are nonsensical and tailored to school children. ✓ One of the worst Big Fish games I’ve ever playedStarted out ok then the storyline got stupid. Three quarters of the scenes were in an Industrial type setting. I Actually like some eipix games but most of them look the same with slightly different storylines. I'm just so bored now. There is nothing left to play. Bf have the monopoly on all the hos adventure games and other developers don't stand a chance. It's bad enough I have lost over 400 games with iOS 11 and with it a lot of money, only one game a week is released and they've been really sub standard. ✓ Tired themeI really wanted to like this game. I do want to explore a small town in Scotland with a dark secret! But this is not that. It’s the same old tired horror scenery that could have been taken from 90% of other casual games. I loved the original Ravenhearst games, the Enigmatis series, and the older MCF games and got completely sucked into the plots. Part of the engaging magic of those games is that you’re exploring an environment that’s otherwise normal, and the spooky elements then become that much more affecting. If the whole game is just stereotypical horror imagery, it completely ruins the suspension of disbelief. In this game, there is no explanation for who built these creepy vast environments or why, or how it furthers the villain’s nefarious goals to have the creepiest fantasy-horror lair possible. In summary, amping up the horror imagery may appeal to 14 year old goth kids, but it does not make for a high quality game. This is just a carbon copy of the many other horror/mystery casual games out there..Version: 1.0.0

If one wants no hints etc. One should be able to set it like it. I happen to like a hint here and there but I should not be forced by a developer to still wait over a minute to get the darn thing.
