✓ A welcome remakeSonic Runners was originally an internal Sega project released 3 years ago. It was an endless runner but unlocking things came on a real-money roulette. The game was great, but as time went by the money-making mechanics ruined the game. It was shut down in 2015 with a portion of fans sad to see a promising mobile title dropped after being messed with. Gameloft have taken the Runners concept and ideas to update it to a refreshingly nice single pay app. Now unlocks depend on rings collected during your runs and *not* real world cash. The only sad aspect is that new events are likely to never happen. But overall it’s just nice to have Runners back in a more consumer-friendly form - thanks gameloft!.Version: 1.0.1

✓ FantasticThis is a load of fun and reminded me why I love Sonic games so much. The controls work well, the different characters all get used, and it gives a great sense of speed while still feeling like you're in control. ✓ Return with EnhancementsThe number of graphic improvements have been made to sonic runners adventure over the original game. The soundtrack is mostly the same but has a lot of classic music from the video game series and it too now. The only complaint I have about the game so far is the hit boxes for the spikes on the enemies seemed always be unfair at times. And there are a lot of spikes in the early levels that are just randomly placed. If they can fix the hit boxes I would give the game a better score..Version: 1.0.1

This game is the best sonic app you can get on the App Store that isn’t a remaster or port of an existing sonic game in my opinion. ✓ The gameplay is not as good as the originalIts true that the game includes some 2.5d parts, but its sad to see that you can do nothing in these cutscenes(like switch lanes in rail grinding) and also why there are no power ups in levels? There are lots of power ups in the original(like wisps) and i had lots of fun eating everything up with the nega wisp~ Anyways, what i wanted to say gameloft should add more content to the game to make it like the original sonic runners. ✓ Good game, bad character models.I love the Sonic games, and the original Runners was one of my favorites, but why are the character models so terrible? Could you guys at Sega not reuse the assets from the original? My main problem though is with Sonic. Sonic just looks... Strange. I don’t know what it is about him, but he just looks very weird. His eyes are way too small and his normal walking (sprinting?) animation just looks out of character for the blue blur. Don’t get me wrong, this game has potential, and is a lot of fun, but it seems pretty rushed and bare bones (sound familiar with Sonic games?). ✓ Great Fun, but Needs Better iPhone X ControlsI really enjoy this game, it’s a fun and challenging game that I often pick up to play. At first it was just when I had some time to kill waiting in lines, but then I found myself coming back frequently! The app works great on my iPad Pro. Unfortunately, however, it is extremely frustrating to use on my iPhone X. The game requires landscape mode, which is fine, but it constantly seems to think I’m trying to leave the game to multitask, pausing the game and bringing up the app tray or going to the home screen. I then have to return to the game and wait several seconds to restart the run. This isn’t something occasional; it happens several times in every run. It becomes very frustrating. It seems like the game is hypersensitive to touch. I make a point to avoid touching the screen with more than just my one fingertip, but it isn’t easy given that it’s a full screen app with no bezels or space to hold the phone while you play. I really hope they improve the app for iPhone X. Until then, however, I’m limited to playing this on my iPad Pro. It’s unfortunate, though, as I would play a lot more often if I could do it on my phone..Version: 1.0.1

You can kinda break the unlock system with team chaotix but I like that it's there to get me more rings. ✓ Sonic Runners, but no MicrotransactionsThis is the return of sonic runners, a cancelled Sonic App I used to enjoy playing. It’s a fun game, and it’s awesome that there are no micro transactions. Easy to get all the characters and go to town. The one thing I will say is that I wish they had truly infinite levels. I haven’t beat the game yet, so maybe it comes later, but the “infinite levels” I’ve played so far are not infinite, they are timed. ✓ Fun to play, but Some Things Annoy MeThe gameplay in itself is good; as expected from the sequel to sonic runners. It’s a good game for those who want a good mobile sonic experience. However, I can’t help but feel annoyed by a few things. First, there are times when the gameplay gets jaggy, which ruins the flow. This mostly happens when I go on a spring. Secondly, some characters from the previous game aren’t in this one, making this game feel like the creators deliberately are trying to play the long game and release other ones over time. I like blaze the cat, yet she’s not in this game, and may not even show up in the later updates. Lastly, for some reason I can’t close out of certain dialogue boxes. When it’s telling me to go to the next mission, I click the x to close out of it, but it doesn’t appear to work atm. TLDR version; I like the game, small errors are here and there, and you guys should add blaze back in this game, please..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Fun and excellent gameplayLove this game. Fast paced levels, challenging, and maintains the essence of classic Sonic games. There are lots of characters to choose from, each with their own benefits and slightly different play style. I like that the game is not as simple as "tap at the perfect time or die" like many others are. If you make mistakes there are penalties, but you can get away with some mistakes better than others. And there are a few different ways to play each level, so trying new things is encouraged. There needs to be a lot more content, though. This game can easily be beaten in a day, including most of the stars and upgrades. I also wish the hero team was more useful. They don't collect rings as easily as chaos team, and don't seem to give any benefit to robot kills like team dark, so I never use them unless it's required to achieve a star. Otherwise the game is pretty well balanced. I hope the developers keep supporting this game, adding content and making improvements; they've done a fantastic job so far!.Version: 1.0.1

✓ Super Sonic!This game is really awesome and an incredible surprise (I thought Sonic Mania would be the only good Sonic game for a long time to come). Performance on my iPhone X is excellent, with no frame rate dips and the game looks gorgeous on the super wide Super Retina display. I’ve not encountered any bugs and I’ve finished the game about 20 times now and then reset it and started again. ✓ Beat my expectationsI wasn’t expecting much when I downloaded this — perhaps a Super Mario Run knockoff at best. But I’ve become addicted to it, and it’s far better than Super Mario Run, which I didn’t care for to be honest. Sonic lends far better to this type of genre. The best part is that there’s no in-app purchases (I refuse to purchase or download pay as you play games). I don’t think it’s even nagged me to leave a review. The “cut scenes” during the game annoy me a bit. Even though they’re fluid, they’re just too predictable and boring to sit through after a while. I don’t like how they interrupt the action. I was never a big fan of Sonic’s sidekicks, so it annoyed me at first that I needed to use other characters to meet objectives. That said, I see how that keeps the game from becoming stagnant. ✓ GOOD GAME ALERT!I have beaten this Sonic game and it’s AWESOME! The graphics are nice, although they kinda look like Play-Doh. It is way more fast paced than Sonic Dash could ever be! (Just because I sound like I hate Sonic Dash, does not mean I think it is a bad game.) The characters are nice and varied, the objectives encourage replaying the levels, there are no ads or micro-transactions, and overall, it’s just fun. ✓ Just like the original but better!Just bought it! And the game is absolutely amazing!! I’m liking the new gameplay so far! And from what I’ve seen. You don’t have to worry about having to continuously spend money. You can use your rings to buy buddies/characters now which is good! Because In the original it was all about the red rings which I didn’t like! It has a story that you follow!and you progress by playing levels, Each level has certain objectives ( collect rings, defeat certain amount of enemies) and those determine how many stars you have. But it bums me out that the endless mode is gone. (But at least the speed is still here) Would be nice to have this back in a update. There are endless levels. ✓ Great offline funI’m 44 and never played Sonic as a kid because of where we lived, income etc. I wanted to try it on mobile but the other Sonic games don’t work offline. I live in an area where data is not cheap and WiFi is not ubiquitous. So being able to play a game offline is really important. This game is great fun. I can see why it became such a classic hit. New playable characters: Team Future: Metal Sonic: Speed Type. Silver the Hedgehog: Fly Type. Blaze the Cat: Power Type. Team Rose: Amy Rose: Speed Type. Cream the Rabbit: Fly Type. Big the Cat: Power Type. What would also be fantastic for this game is if each Stage had 3 Red Star Rings to collect. Then once you collect all Red Star Rings in a Zone, you unlock a Special Stage for that Zone. Then once you complete the Special Stage, you get a Chaos Emerald. Then once you have all 7 Chaos Emeralds, you unlock Super Sonic as a playable character, that would be amazing!!!!! Special Stages could play the same as the Bonus Stages in this game, except you have to collect a specified amount of Rings before reaching the end to get a Chaos Emerald, think about it. Then by collecting all 7 Chaos Emeralds, you could unlock an Extra Boss in the Final Zone that can only be accessed using Super Sonic, imagine how fantastic that would be. Please make it happen. However I feel more levels should have been added before release since it’s less than a day to finish the game. ✓ Fixing preorder issueWith my time playing sonic runners adventure, I am happy to announce that the game runs smoothly with little to no hickups. I enjoy the runners gameplay style so much. I am overfilled with joy that it has been given a revival. However there is something I want to address, because this app is a premium title I am somewhat worried about the longevity of the app. I would hope that the game will in the future get updated with new content. ✓ Fun game that should be on Apple ArcadeI bought this game a while back and I liked it a lot. I finished and unlocked everything, It is a fun game well worth the price in my opinion. I think the developer should put a new version of this game on Apple Arcade and add it to the Apple Tv as well. I feel it can be more enjoyable to play with my kids on the big tv using a controller and by having it on the Apple Arcade I think it would help with the cost to get more updates to have more levels and characters. My biggest gripe is it doesn’t have an infinite mode, (a mode where you can play forever to get the highest score possible) which was the best part of the og. There are also to few characters, it needs a lot more. I mean like from big the cat to the werehog to mephiles the dark. A few new abilities and level types would be great as well, maybe some stardust speedway and studiopolis variants. ✓ Feels like the poor man’s version of the old runners but you pay for.I have no idea why some people say that this is better than the original. I mean on its own it’s ok but it somehow feels like a beta version of the old one with how much it lacks when compared. Over the course of 2 weeks I managed to 100% during my free time and now there is no reason to return to it. There’s no endless mode, not a lot of challenge, and the gameplay is boring. In the old one there where wisps, granted there where not a lot of them, but they would give you fun abilities to use. In this one there is none of that. Also the characters all play the same and feel the same. The only difference is how they look and there abilities. The old at least had characters who played differently. Also team chaotix breaks the games in half when it comes to ring upgrades since you can buy magnets and invincibility.
