✓ Great game, but the glitches just make me want to delete itI love this game, but the glitches lately just are too much to bear. It’s simple things too like daily rewards that work for some, but not others. They recently made a huge mistake and gave out 20,050 gems, but realized their mistake and tried taking it back. But unfairly, some players realized the bonanza before it got removed and spent it. This unfairly impacted the game for those who were asleep or otherwise unaware. The latest event they have is just window dressing on another event that didn’t work properly to begin with. It is maddening how depressingly unplayable the game has gotten. Oh, and I’m a captain of a team and a recent glitch removed several members of my team and the headaches getting everyone back in are not worth it..Version: 53.5
✓ New user interface hard to useThis is an entertaining game but very glitchy. I would not spend money on this game due to these glitches. It will just decide to take things you’ve earned from you and you can’t get them back or it will freeze up and reset you erasing gems and what not. They also changed the Home Screen recently and it was somewhat confusing before especially on how to optimize your engines and what not. But now forget it. You need a user manual now. ✓ No rewards for ads; conflict with iPad gesturesThere are several areas of the game to watch videos for extra gold, etc. Every single one allows you to watch the video but fails to give the rewards. It worked at one point, hence it being obvious that it doesn't now. Emails to support have been unreturned. The game itself is good but forcing players to watch ads and not rewarding them as promised is basically theft. APPLE: Please investigate. There's another "feature" that's going to make me delete this game - certain stages require moving the ship in such a way that you end up making some Apple gesture that pauses the game and brings up a screen to switch apps. The ads load fine and play virtually without fail, but the rewards seldom appear. Voluntarily watching ads for bonuses from the main menu have a similar level of success. The developer is getting their revenue for the ads they serve, but ripping off all the consumers who watch them. There are lots of other games which are almost the exact same as this one. ✓ Broken Reward SystemUPDATE: There have been at least three updates to the game since my review. “Video rewards” is among the patch notes but there are still issues with it. I have been enjoying a fair bit, it’s a solid bullet-hell. You can advance comfortably without having to spend money too. I would give the game more stars but my issue with it is the reward system regarding ads. Like most mobile games these days, there are several opportunities to earn a bonus for watching an ad. However, I would estimate that the reward fails at least a third of the time. At first, I thought I must not be watching long enough but I will deliberately wait ~10 seconds past the ad timer and still receive nothing. ✓ Support disappearedThis is a fun game, but I had an issue with it after connecting to Facebook. I contacted the app developer via Facebook, and was almost immediately instructed to uninstall the game and reinstall, and let the game server restore my data. I did so, and lost my progress - including a couple of in-app purchases. Their support then told me they would restore the progress - at least the purchases - and then disappeared, without restoring anything. I've not heard from them for a week now, though I have seen then post to Facebook, so I know they are there, inspite of numerous messages to contact them. ✓ Just Realized!!!I’ve played this game many many times, and watched more ads than I can count. On many occasions I noticed that the advertisement videos would not work after playing the game several times on any particular day. It would just say n/a. At the same, I also noticed at the end of each level I completed I would never get offered an ad video to collect more rewards. I never clicked on the n/a icon until today, so I did just to see what would happen, and after clicking the n/a where the video icon is supposed to be, and then clicking on watch, it notifies me that there will be no more rewards until tomorrow. May I just say... how stupid that is!!! There are other games that you can pay less than $10 to have ad free for life but not this game. The massive bug that I’ve never seen in any other game is that I only receive the rewards for watching ads about 10% of the time. Game is designed to be addictive and waste your time so you just spend money. I’ve beaten the campaign now and it’s deeply unsatisfying. A year ago it was difficult to farm resources to level up ships without paying. Since then they’ve decreased the daily resources you can get by a factor of twenty!! Game glitches are common and each update creates more bugs than it solves. I’ve lost hundreds of dollars worth of resources to these glitches and the developers do nothing. This game charges my credit card all the time without providing the resources so I bought it again bc I thought the purchase didn’t work. I get charged twice but only wanted one. This is extremely common. Items available for purchase are often very different from how they are advertised and many ships / parts don’t do what they claim. Like half of them. I spent lots of money and time upgrading a particular part only for the game to remove that part! No refund of my money. This stuff is literally illegal but Apple won’t do anything about it so do yourself a favor and stay far away. Multiplayer modes are completely unrelated to skill and super frustrating. ✓ Don't fix something what isn't brokenI don't know about you guys but....I REALLY loved the old version it was much more simpler, the bomb power ups where instantaneous and more effective, the upgrades in the level where a lot of help and made it easier to get passed really hard levels. But now that's all gone the upgrades you get in the levels are REALLY temporary they don't even last for the full level and their actually limited to how much you can get. Which really takes away more than HALF of the enjoyment we usually got when playing Falcon Squad. Not to mention that when we had those temporary upgrades for our ships in the levels everyone kinda gets a glimpse into how far our ships fire power and potential can get. In my opinion, it is ruining both the quality and entertainment of all apps. Having said that, I don’t mind watching a few minimal ads here and there to help these devs pay the bills. However, for this application, the ads and bugs ruined the experience, and ensured another quickly deleted and forgotten app. I won’t go into long details about the ads — read some of the recent reviews, and they are spot on regarding their frequency and the relative uselessness of associated rewards in overall progress. Additionally, I found that Facebook never stayed connected longer than about 5 seconds, and I never was able to experience tournament or pvp play due to the server error that everyone has reported. Furthermore, many of the ads would just ‘break’, leaving the app unresponsive after sitting through the entire thing instead of releasing back to the game. I was surprised to see how many of these problems had been reported more than 1 update prior. Meaning, greed vs quality, and as a consumer I will not accept that. But, I’ve had plenty of gaming sessions where it ended with me in frustration because my spaceship, in navigating the game screen, was backed up to the bottom of my screen to be able to shoot targets, and had my iPhone X pop out to my home screen in the middle of the game. I’ve had this happen so many times and it has cost me lives. It pauses the game, but sometimes when I come back into the game I have to react so fast I can’t recover. And that just makes me want to not play. It would be nice if the game had an option to disable the swipe up feature of the iPhone while playing..Version: 22.2

✓ Unfair PVPThe game itself is good and I’ve wasted many hours playing the ‘campaign’ levels, and I do enjoy playing the tournaments every weekend. However I am very frustrated with how PVP works. It’s highly unbalanced and there seems to be minute delays in the live action game play between players. If your game starts even a half second after the other player you can kiss your win goodbye. It’s literally the only (I firmly believe) reason my fully evolved macbird loses more than 70% of matches, some of which are against new or unlevelled ships. It gets really frustrating really fast (who likes to lose games that they should have an even chance at all the time?). Which brings up another issue: unbalanced skill matching. You can be paired up with someone who has fully maxed out their ships or someone who hasn’t upgraded at all, not that it matters much anyway since the game is literally about luck and timing, not skill. The app itself is riddled with ads that offer rewards if you watch them, which would be fantastic if you actually received the rewards every time. Spoiler: you do not. My suggestion to the developers: Make some of the bosses at later levels easier to beat so that it doesn’t take literal weeks if not months to pass those levels. After what seemed forever, I got good ships, and defeated bosses, and won many levels. My ranking was in the mid 500s in the US. Woke up one morning and they shut my account down. I sent an inquiry through Facebook and after 2 weeks they responded. Said I must be cheating because I had too much gold and too many ships! Then they said my account was only created within the last month! I sent a screenshot from my apple account showing my download date. I’d have to spend $1000 plus or play this daily for over a year. Costs of upgrading the ship once out of the remaining 75 times? 7300 gold. Endless gets you 2000 gold (max 5x per day) and takes up over 5 minutes. Pvp is hard as hell; sometimes you kill every ship and still lose. The tournament barely nets you any gold. Point is; you could possibly upgrade your ship twice a day? Once when it gets to higher levels. Who wants to play this game for 50 days just to max out one ship? And that’s only if the ship is going to S rank. There’s two more upgrades SS rank and SSS rank. Add on 60 days for that. Then you wanna max out the wing. Gotta get gold, gems AND cards. You finish with that? Max out the two side shooters; and then you need to max out a SECOND ship for the tougher levels near the end because you get one backup ship on a boss level before you die. And that one’s gotta be max. When you finally do all that? Maybe 300 days has gone by. Almost a year. Makes the game more of a job than a game. They need to multiply gold gain and gem gain by 5x INCLUDING MISSION BONUSES. They need to add bonuses for Hard and Nightmare mode too. You get nothing but stars to open boxes from those.
