SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI D×2 for Positive User Reviews

More than just your run of the mill gacha game.I was honestly surprised by the level of detail and effort put into this game. The story is engaging and the characters are enjoyable. The gameplay is true to the Shin Megami Tensei turn based combat and holds a variety of customizable, collectible characters that are staples to the franchise. There are plenty of opportunities to get rare items and characters and the game is more than generous with in game bonuses for those who choose the free to play route. I would definitely recommend this being a fan of the shin megami tensei series. Now if we could get them to adapt some of the games to the App Store we’d be all set..Version: 1.8.0

Awesome but grindy by late chapter 4Really fun SMT game with a lot of depth for mobile. The 4 star plus fusion prices are a bit ridiculous seeing as how the evolution and skill point mechanics work. It would seemingly incentivize the summoning paid option which is fine because it’s F2P considering there is still a way to get to the top for free but the drop rates on the summons for 4 star and above are pretty dreadful considering the price for gems. There is an option for XP Macca and Mag boosting but with all the leveling and Mag grinding you’ll need to do to make a lower star demon evolve into 4 star and higher 30% exp is kind of a joke for the 16$ month boost. In conclusion the combat is fun lets you fast forward through the grinding and not to mention the amount of content for the price I’d say it’s worth your time. All I want is for them to tweak the Mag costs and the shop a bit and It’s the beat F2P game I’ve ever played.Version: 1.4.0

It’s pretty goodThe story is pretty good. Better story than Smt V. You don’t really need the gacha aspect for most PVE content so that’s cool. The PVP on the other hand is super unbalanced and you can only really play it properly if you pull banner 5 stars..Version: 6.1.02

Very solid Megaten experienceNot only is this a good Mobile Game, but this game is a fantastic entry in the Megami Tensei Franchise. Tons of mainline fan service is waiting to be enjoyed for all you Megaten fans! So take my advice, and don’t miss out on Shin Megami Tensei DX2 Liberation! Pros: *Press Turn combat very well implemented. *3D character models are top notch. *Highly rewarded for playing the game. I Never felt the need to pay real money for any of the gatcha mechanics! *Addictive Demon Progression systems (despite being overly complex) *Loads of base game content, with regularly updated new content (including crossover events like Berserk and Ghost in the Shell). *Able to use AR modes, as well as an AR Mini Game. Cons: *Ugly main character designs/art style, and cringe dialogue at times. *New demons are becoming very overpowered, and defeating the purpose of the press turn system. Pvp is most notably becoming very unbalanced. *Overly complicated and time consuming progression systems, most notably the brand system (most notably the brands of sin feature which is difficult to micromanage).Version: 4.3.00

Generous 5 star summonsDidn’t need to purchase anything to get great demons(shadows) The events are rewarding too 5/5.Version: 3.0.10

Great gamePull rate for a 5* is low but it’s kind of justified by the fact that the fusion system of this game allows you to fuse most of the 5* demons with enough effort. Gacha really only exists since there a few gacha exclusives, however a lot of the “meta” demons can be fused. It’s nice to see they didn’t let the gacha prevent them from implementing most of the core SMT gameplay mechanics Only problem is the story is lackluster for an SMT game. Even among mobile games it’s somewhat average and the story really only picks up in ch 6. I would recommend this game to those who enjoy turn based combat jrpgs..Version: 1.4.0

Great game butHonestly it’s simply a great game. The issue lies in the fact that its UI is quite difficult to get used to initially. Figure that out and your in for a good time.Version: 1.4.0

FunFun game not too greedy like some apps.Version: 3.0.00

Yup. This game is mcfrickin great. Thanks projared..Version: 1.4.0

Great gacha by SEGAClassic SMT press turn gameplay with gacha elements - you will rarely summon as the drop rate is really low (0.5% for 5*) but you can fuse powerful demons anyway. Story isn’t that great but the graphics, menus, OST and gameplay make up for it. If you’re looking for a new gacha that’s on the same updates as Japan, try SMT!.Version: 1.4.0

Can get tediousLots and lots of grinding in this game to get more demons and event and quest items. I’m pretty used to this as a console gamer but in this game you just auto battle and leave your phone. Other than that pretty good game and really feels like a real SMT game. they are generous to free to play players. The combat system is similar to a real game on console. EDIT: Now that it’s the games second anniversary, from what I’ve seen I really appreciate the effort they are putting into the story mode and events. The grinding aspect is still meh but they do keep things interesting with the large story mode and event story.Version: 3.0.00

Better than Super MarioThis game is insane for a mobile game. I’ve been playing SMT for quite a while now and when I heard that this game was I thing I didn’t think much of it. I hear about all these updates like the Aura Gates and the Alter world and thought I would give it a shot. Best decision of my life. There is just also much content in the game, if you really enjoy SMT you won’t want to stop playing this game. I recommend it for anybody who wants a decently challenging game. The Alter world is super fun, and so is the Aura Gate..Version: 4.3.10

Megaten is back yay I guessI thought the characters were annoying at first (hated how in your face Megakin was every login) but I’ve started to warm up to them and the story. It’s a bit sad that since Megaten Online shut down, the next thing would be a mobile game that requires more spending. I am enjoying myself so far sin e I got lucky with some strong demons in the summoning..Version: 1.5.0

BackgroundI think overall gaming experience is good, but then when we look back to shin megami past games, personas and devil summoners, all of their primary characters has quite dark background, meanwhile in this game, it distinguish itself as its opposite element... imo i think its better to stick with their main selling points besides giving new character vibe as it gives out a lot of plot twist..Version: 1.4.0

I’m happy but here are the flawsLook this really reminded me of the game that I played on my Nintendo ds I’m very happy that old creatures I see are still here do what you do best and please make the prices lower I think many people will be happy I know that most of the game is single player but big whale will cap in the parts that aren’t.Version: 3.2.20

SMT on mobile!Initially one suspects that this title is a gacha-a-thon disguised as a monster summoning game. This expectation is dashed by the amount of free content and the surprising integrity of its core gameplay loop. TLDR get on it demon summoner.Version: 2.1.00

Highly addictingGame is based on SMT sprites and loosely on the lore like other Persona games. Difference here is light/dark damage is now another element like agi/bufu/zio/garu. Also, some demons can only be acquired through the summoning, or ‘Gacha’. Higher ‘grade’ demons typically get better stats, so there’s a lot of focus on summoning pulls. That said, the game is a ton of fun, especially if you like grinding levels. There’s a bit of ‘always something to do’ syndrome that is a mixed aspect of why this game is good. This also makes it pretty complex to learn initially, especially if someone’s never come to the SMT universe until now. The brand system, which buffs the stats of your demons, is also based on item drops, of which combined with combinations of demons is what pvp is centered around way late game. PvP gets pretty binary as you approach the higher ranks and hit the meta demons like Huang di or alilat. But that’s how it is-there is always an optimal strat to win. That said, certain demons are blatantly better than others. Also, if you want to raise your lower grade demons to compete in play, this game loosely let’s you. Though the stats will always be inferior to the 5 star tier of demons overall..Version: 1.8.0

A Simplified Version of SMTThis is a pretty good SMT mobile game. All the concepts of the beloved Shin Megami Tensei franchise is here: The famous and reused compendium of demons, all well done in 3D, all still have their 2D artwork and lore. The plot of the story is dark, questioning society and the point of existance, as well as drawing from Japan’s weird Akihabara otaku culture. The grind is real, but since it’s an app, you’re able to auto-grind. The concept of talking to and convincing demons to join your party is here and can also be automatic but its never a gaurunteed success (its better if you do it manually), and of course demon fusion is available, but you also have gacha summons. Nothing here is really P2W since they give you enough resources to get through the game without money. And of course there are dialogue choices that will most likely affect the end of the story. It’s worth it if you’re new to or a veteran of the series and want to have easy access to an SMT game..Version: 1.4.1

Worth itThe graphics are great. I LOVE the artwork put into every character and every scene. I also love how characters are based off religious entities, legends, folklore, etc. It’s very diverse and each demon has a description, explaining which culture it originates from plus its background story. It seems like you need to pay to play, but you really don’t need to at all. Most games insist on it, especially to progress. This game, not really. The game is generous with energy and currency as long as you put effort into collecting useful items and leveling up. There’s so much to say about how cool this game is that it would take way too long to type it all out. Plus it’s better for you to find out for yourself— no spoilers! Oh, yeah, and it’s extremely entertaining, and for that, probably well worth your time. I’ve spent hours at a time just going through the main storyline (and there’s a ton of side storylines you can enjoy too). I don’t regret any time I’ve spent in gameplay. Super fun..Version: 1.4.0

Sega and Atlus are doing Yahweh's work i tell you..!Honestly I've been playing this beast almost everyday for at least 15~20 minutes. There's almost always something to look forward every time I log in. Also the game developers are very GENEROUS with in game content and special events. Right now my ranking is D2 and my player lvl is 53. My party is pretty beefy with some heavy hitter demons and so far I've only spent $1. Though I have to admit that I might be spending way too much time with the AR Demon Scanner that was added in the latest update. Talking to demons is a big hobby of mine!.Version: 2.1.00

Small problemThe game is very fun with great graphics but it takes we a long time to just connect to it.Version: 1.4.0

Well-presented SkinnerwareIf you have an addictive personality, I advise you to read a public fb post by Richard Garfield, creator of MTG (Magic The Gathering), on what he calls “skinnerware” before even touching this game. This kind of game is funded by “whales” - hooked big spenders - so that others can play it for free. You absolutely can play it for free, and most people will. Please be aware of what you or your child are getting into when playing such a game. It is tremendous fun aside from that. The 3D renders of many beloved SMT demons are really well polished, and new ones are added on an infrequent basis..Version: 1.5.0

I love it persona is the best!Smt is persona 5 but all I what is p5R on switch and p5 on switch or on mobile I love Kasumie in p5R and joker and gang but I wish there did the character from p5 and p5R on this game.Version: 4.3.10

Good but with a few problems so farIdk if they still read these but anyways, I’ve played this game for about a day and there are a few not to severe problems- Starting rn is basically getting free 5 stars in the first 10 minutes of game play. With the free sumons, I have a full team for 5 stars at level 45-30 My advice is to make the spins and rewards not free, lower the prices by a lot but definitely don’t make it free. I takes away to fun of the beginning of the game for ppl that start playing now Problem two ( more of a bug than a problem)- whenever I enhance a demon it freezes, I have to restart the app and hope my upgrades went through ( lemme know if this only happens to me) isn’t the biggest deal but I think it’s worth speaking about. Other than that I LOVE THE GAME I already know I’m gonna Have like at least 60 hours on this game..Version: 3.1.30

Fun and really fairThe combat is not as in depth as a normal SMT game but it’s still really addicting and enjoyable. Since it’s free to play it has lots of the typical mechanics of one but I was genuinely shocked how fair it was and how unnecessary it felt to buy micro transactions to enjoy everything it has to offer. It is fairly grindy but with auto quests you level up quickly so it never became an issue. I always felt constantly rewarded even playing every day for a over a week. Worth a try if you like SMT or collectible monster games..Version: 2.2.00

Small issueI honestly like the game and it’s graphics but there’s an issue when I’m trying to enter demon buster it would just pop up as a black screen.Version: 2.1.10

Best SMT👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.Version: 3.1.00

Almost amazingAs a fan of SMT and Persona, this really scratches that itch for me. So many demons from across the whole franchise makes for some really interesting team building. There is so much content here: a lengthy pve, pvp, events, team building, etc…I really enjoy the demon building part of this game as well. There is so much that goes into making the perfect demon which makes it very satisfying when you’re done building them. My only gripe with this game is the gacha mechanic and everything tied to it, i.e gems. Gems are required to roll for demons which is going to be your bread and butter for acquiring the best demons the game has to offer. Sure they have the demon negotiating from the mainline games, but you only ever get 1-3 star demons this way. You can get Gems from the story but after you’ve completed it, gems become a pretty rare resource. This wouldn’t be that bad of a problem if not for how egregiously over priced the gems are. On top of all this, the drop rates for the banner demons(event demons) are so low. I understand needing to monetize some part of your free to play game, but it’s actually crazy to think you can spend all this money and still not get what you want especially because the unforgiving pity system..Version: 6.3.00

One of the best.I was worried when I started playing this game that it would be an unfaithful money grab game littered with micro transactions, but it has quickly become one of my favorite Shin Megami Tensei games because it’s not only a faithful adaptation, it’s also arguably the best RPG on the App Store and makes me want to spend money to support the wonderful team responsible. For those of you reading this that are worried about it being pay-to-win: while you can buy jewels for gacha draws and the like, it’s not like other games where that’s the only way to get the strongest demons, especially since you can’t fuse two bought demons together, and in some fusions you can’t use bought demons at all. This game does so many things right, but if I had to complain about anything the pop up ads for boosters gets kind of old. (But it IS free, so it’s more of a nitpick than anything.).Version: 1.4.0

One of the good onesThis game’s PVE is mostly entirely playable without spending money. There are dozens of demons who had so much power creep when they came out, but aren’t even options in PvP anymore that you can blast through PVE content. The real game is rolling gacha at 3% (randomly from a huge pool) for about 4-5 demons who are completely behind the paywall to do PvP. Every so often a new demon is released, and the meta is changed. If you’re lucky the new meta includes 2-3 demons you already have, and can join the fight quicker. Demons need about a dozen of the same type to infuse back in to it also (to be competitive) so as far as these types of games go it’s pretty good. If it says “FREE” on the game you probably know what you’re getting anyway, but here’s your confirmation..Version: 5.2.00

Great game, great story, decent battle systemLet me just say that this game is great, it’s an all round great game, the story is unique and great, really an all around great game, but if I had one problem with this game it would be the battle system, it’s not bad it’s just kind of boring after you get the ultimate demon for fighting it starts to get boring, and your then really likely to just start skipping the battles all together. I know that I really only play the quests not for grind or to get a unique demon, but just to see the rest of the story If you like story, multiplayer games, this is a great game for you, if you only play for gameplay you will be mildly disappointed at how boring it is after a while. Give this game a try if you can, as it’s probably the most unique RPG that i have seen includes demons on mobile..Version: 1.4.0

Good gameGood game!!!.Version: 1.4.0

One of the best IOS gameThe game is good, fair and very stylist.Version: 2.6.02

P5Love this game, just love it..Version: 1.5.0

Excellent, on-the-go monster collecting and battling.Basically, it’s Pokémon for adults. Doesn’t mess around with things like an over world, but instead focuses on dungeon crawling, reasonable amounts of story elements and monster training, battling and collecting. The story surprised me. I thought it’d get annoying, but there’s actually some depth and intrigue. I think the special events often have the best plots tbh. Overall, the game has tons of content considering that it’s free and they are seemingly adding more fairly consistently. Doesn’t really require any purchases unless you’re really feeling like throwing some money around. My only real complaint is that I wish the store items were more reasonably priced. I’d like to support the devs, but most items are unreasonably priced..Version: 2.4.00

The game greedy yeah and noThe game can seem greedy but it is actually easy to run and pretty fun the crossover were and are still awesome going to devil may cry bayonetta berserk and now sonic is insane and yeah its hard to lv up at a certain point but its really rewarding.Version: 4.1.00

Better than Persona 5 & Devil SurvivorMore style and ease of play that Persona 5 and Devil survivor combined! Yup, you heard me right, take the best parts of classics like Strange Journey (NDS) and Devil Survivor (NDS) and cap them off with the pushes the SMT series needed -and delivered- with Persona 5 and you’ve got a finely crafted hit that I'm sure we’ll be playing well into 2020 if the Japanese version is any indication. The game has a well balanced system that it eases you into without holding your hand too tight, in fact; it often holds your hand without you even realizing it, cleverly devised tutorials use story help to simultaneously unearth key plot elements advancing both the story and character development and all the while you barely realized you just learned a new skill. It’s the little things like this that make this game an amazing play, and the AR elements make dungeon crawling more fun than I have ever had with a previous number in the SMT series. I hope to see you all out there as it’s clear we’re not going to beat what’s ahead by ourselves! See you on the battlefield.Version: 1.4.1

Not bad!The game isn’t bad. Plenty of things to do and the content difficulty was scaled after beta(thank you). For fast lvls, you can grind leveling quest of each chapter and have auto on and plug in charger lol. Some people have grinded aura gates too. Occasionally, I get connection error forcing me to restart game and lose progress. I don’t think it’s my phone since at that time, other internet using apps work fine. Also summoning... jeez, I have already spent $40, had 26+ pulls and I got all 3*s. The RNG is so low, it’s almost not worth spending money. I got more 4*s in free gem pulls. Yes, at this point, there is an incentive that collect 50 of those paper thingys that you get from each summon but look. 10 summons are 1k gems. That’s 5k gems we talking about for a 4* or 5* guaranteed. 2.9k gems are already $80.... and you would still be missing 2.1k gems(which I assume you want to get from actual gameplay). Of course, maybe I have crap luck, as some rare people have gotten Demons like Lucifer or Alice..Version: 1.4.0

Awesome game from SegaForget all the other summoner / adventure / battle games this has it all. If you love Manga demons and strategy games go for it. Hours of fun ahead. Thanks.Version: 3.1.30

Great game. But not for beginner JRPGers! This game is good I was lucky and got a 5* right at the start and was able to make a Teal Ose. Though the color classification is part of the problem. No where I have found that give you an ENGLISH list of the freakin symbols. Like Teal or Foul. I get it part of “charm” of the game they leave these in the English release, but SOMEWHERE they need to have an English list of the stuff they have in Japanese. Other than that no complaints really. You definitely be lost if you tried to jump into this series with this though. I’ve played the last 4 main Persona games so it’s old hat to me by now...Version: 1.8.0

The absolute best a MegaTen all game can be!I was lucky enough to get to experience the beta of this game and from all I could possibly manage to play then, I could tell that this game was absolutely wonderful. It has all of the elements of smt that fans have come to know and love. From the turn-based combat to the unique and dynamic characters, this game has it all. The UI and menus are fit with their own style that really pops! The art direction of this game is phenomenal, but it’s just what I’ve come to expect from ATLUS, they truly do have an eye for aesthetics. I would strongly advise not only MegaTen fans to play this, but also fans of JRPG’s who may not be the most familiar with MegaTen games and want to try out something a little different to give this game a download..Version: 1.4.0

Great game.Only one thing to say, we need more of these games..Version: 4.2.01

Most impressive and quietly ambitious phone game to date.Visually stunning, rewarding gameplay. So many things to level, acquire, learn and perfect. So many different tasks to do that I am not at all bothered by the energy system. And did I mention visually stunning? Not just “good graphics” which it certainly does have, but a neo-mythical/cyberpunk mixture of artistic styles I didn’t know could exist and am in total awe of. Being a japanese rpg-esqe game there is a ton of content to get lost in, but its a world I don't mind being lost in at all. Audio is a perfect 10 with fabulous original japanese voice acting. Near perfection, 5/5 all around. Play this game, I have had endless fun and have not even felt tempted to purchase a single micro-transaction item..Version: 1.4.1

Amazing game (but shop prices need to come down)This is an amazing game, it’s basically a full console experience shin Megami tensei game on mobile. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is strategic, and the game is packed with content. My only problem with the game is the shop. Prices for gem packs are too high. I would spend a lot more real money on the game if I felt like I was getting better value from what’s on offer. But for the price of a combination gem pack with a small amount of other in game items, I could go out and buy a full priced game at like 50$-60$. Be more consumer friendly in this regard and I’m sure more will spend on the game. If I feel discouraged from spending because I feel like the value isn’t there then there is a problem as I am a regular gatcha player who spends in other games..Version: 3.2.40

8 out of 10A great game but need a patch or update for sound and effects on the iPhone 6plus.Version: 2.5.02

One of the best games on mobile.I have been playing Dx2 for a month now, daily. For me it still remains the best mobile game compared to other monster/soldier collecting battle rpgs like Final Fantasy Brave Exvius & Fire Emblem Heroes. I’ve only completed chapter 3 in the story since first downloading dx2 around mid march, but even after doing that there is still plenty of content, customization and rewards to keep one occupied for days. I would love a persona 5 crossover event so I could add Joker, Morgana & Panther to my team of demons. But the crossover events are also great, getting a titular character like Dante or Bayonetta for simply logging in. And then the 2 AR camera/scanner modes to view or interact with demons, and the user submitted notes one can leave on demons is all a treat as well. Aesthetically this is probably (one of) the best looking mobile games on par with the music & visuals of atleast a ps3/360/wiiu game. There is too much good for me to speak of about this game..Version: 2.1.10

It’s just what I was looking forThis is an SMT title you can play on your phone. The sheer number of things you can do to pass the time caught me off-guard. The game constantly teaches you it’s mechanics and each and every of them give it more depth rather than making it confusing..that is, if you played any SMT titles before. The auto-battle system is not flawless, but gets the job done for the most part. Story-wise it’s basic, but wasn’t expecting much from a mobile title anyways. There are some connectivity issues which get annoying sometimes - hence the 4-stars - but I hope they get fixed..Version: 1.4.1

Awesome y got an idea .It will be great if you add like a global boss monster that all the server can fight amd depending on the damage you inflicted on the boss you get rewards and those monster are summoned once a week bosses like satan mefisto cleopatra and stuff like that ,also do it for certain level bosses like 1-30 ,31-60 and finaly 61 up ...and the big one for all the server . Just to keep the spice in the game and have something to look for add a chat in the same event and single hit big hits and gems hit with some cooldown . You can add special monsters to reduce hit cooldown . Well anyway the game is awesome been playing all the smt games.Version: 3.0.00

Great Mobile RPG- Best Gatcha / SMT in your pocketHaving played many SMT / Persona games and many mobile RPGs this is the best mobile RPG I’ve played yet! The gameplay is condensed so that you can enjoy fun strategy / demon negotiations / dungeon crawling on a bite sized format. This is really like having a condensed smt mainline game and you don’t have to spend any money to have a sick party to battle with. The story is actually pretty good and the writing can be hilarious. The game modes are diverse and you get a bunch of different elements from various SMT games as well as new ones- dungeon crawling, roguelike mode, battling with your avatar, etc. If i could criticize one thing I think the game is a bit menu heavy because there is so much going on with customization, upgrades, enhancements etc it’s kind of overwhelming. You’ll never be bored playing this game! Theres so much content I can’t believe that you can actually play through most of it F2P.Version: 6.2.20

FunFun game to play.Version: 4.2.00

Great GameWhile it looks like the game is trying it’s hardest to get you to spend some money, it’s not. You don’t need premium currency to progress. Energy is fair and plentiful. Farming is a key part of the game. The game does so many things write that it makes up for the things it does wrong. About what it does wrong though. The game isn’t generous. It doesn’t hold your hand for even a second. Yes, the starting levels are easy but it gradually grows harder and harder. This requires you to farm previous levels (particularly the leveling ones) to progress. The plus the fact that you can get more creatures for more experience is more than enough to make up for that flaw. The game also has flaws in terms of glitches. They do not break the game but it’s not recommended to play on a wobbly internet connection. This game is well polished but it does take quite a drain on the battery though. It doesn’t matter because this game is worth it. It’s really fun and kills time more than anything (even some MOBAs). This game is definitely going in a good direction..Version: 1.4.0

Amazing gameThis game is amazing!.Version: 1.8.0

Best Mobile Game Ever. The formula to this one is like FFBE I admit. But the graphics are fantastic. The best looking SMT game so far. Since InApp Purchases is how Companies make money. This game makes sure you don’t. Spending money to summon demons is a bad idea as you might get complete garbage for $80 for 29 demons. I advise people to not spend money. The game also does actual SMT gameplay with the mode on the map early on that lets you play something more like the latest SMT in the US. I completely finish this game after 48hours in game. That’s when I stopped. This game has so much content for a mobile game. It does not rely on PvP while you can do PvP. Great game..Version: 1.4.0

Great GameThis is the best turn-based RPG for mobile hands down. The graphics are great, the story is ok, there are a half dozen different types of battles, hundreds of cool demons and skills, many different ways to upgrade demons and skills, and it’s not necessary to spend a lot of money. The UI is not too overwhelming which is tough to pull off with so many playing options. The only complaint I have is that I spent a good deal of money over several years ($400+), got a great collection of demons and skills, then got a new phone and the transfer wouldn’t work. I lost everything. It took almost a year before I played again. I see there’s now an option to link to my Apple account. Hopefully that alleviates the transfer issues..Version: 4.3.20

HelpI can’t start up the game it just says connection error.Version: 4.0.20

Best Free to Pay Game IMHOMost of the items are earnable in game, given freely once with alternative items to earn which have the same effect, if accumulated, can earn a free 1000 gem bonus which is somewhere between 30-50$ in real cash if playing before the week of the 24th of August. Have access to the one and only Mothman featuring Jack Frost and the compendium is a must to check out for even the greenest of players. A 5/5 game for mobile devices and I actually bothered to write a review for this and give up my console games after beating all previous SMT games of course so I can fully enjoy this. I don’t play mobile games but I’m a diehard SMT fan and this shouldn’t be passed up easily. Join the chat logs and you’ll have access to a variety of colourful folks who are friendly, open, non muda, and the members of one of the best chats out there for any game. Happy Hunting my Liberators.Version: 1.4.0

FUN AS HELL!I’m a first year in college and I’ve been playing this game since high school grade 9 this game is absolutely fun and addictive!!!! Definitely recommend loads of fun and entertaining to play and pace the time!!!!!.Version: 4.1.00

One of my favorite gamesI love the SMT games, They’re creative and cool! I also like the historically accurate information they provide about the different spiritual traditions around the world and the deities they have in the game. Some I’ve never heard of but when I look them out the game information is right on. The hierarchy system is weird though but still the game is fun. I wish it had this base game and was also something like Pokémon go where there was a blend of the real world and community events and the game itself :).Version: 6.0.00

Still a Hoe ♥️I’ve always been a hoe for Atlas games; Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, Devil Summoner etc, so it was expected that as soon as I found this, I knew I would be hooked. Well worth the play; trying not to pay, but I’m sure it will be worth that too..Version: 2.3.00

Amazing game with achievable gacha elements but…Special demons (like Sonic the Hedgehog) would come only once and disappear for what feels like forever with no hinting at a return..Version: 4.2.00

Best gatcha gameThis is probably the best gatcha game of all time. Devs hand out free 5 stars and free summons like no other game out there and this is easily the most f2p friendly game where the grind is very well rewarded..Version: 2.6.02

Really enjoying it butWhen I'm in the middle of a quest, the crashes..Version: 1.4.1

Fresh air!!Fantastic design and gameplay!!.Version: 1.4.0

Amazing mobile SMT game!If you have played an SMT game and enjoyed it, please give it a try. Some things are adjusted for mobile but it works flawlessly. There are tons of demons you’ll remember and they’re just as powerful as ever. There are micro transactions in the game but you don’t have to purchase anything with money if you don’t want to. Nothing forces you to do so. You’ll get plenty of gems by playing the game and Sega gives away enough gems and other items on a regular basis. The community is very active and helpful. The official reddit is a great source of very useful information. You have various forms of energy that lets you do quests, pvp battles, and take on levels of a tower called Aura Gate. They recharge over time and every night at 7pm est everything resets. TLDR; play this if you’ve played any SMT games before and liked them. If you haven’t, think of the game as a very adult version of Pokémon. Instead of monsters you talk to demons and convince them to join you, sometimes giving up things in exchange. These demons are based on actual real life legends and lore..Version: 1.8.0

Least P2W Gacha Out ThereThe anniversary update just gave me like 100 summons where I pulled 7 five star units. Just finished tutorial and now my team is way too deezed that I don’t know what to do. If you like brain-dead, auto-battling, tedious, grinding, turn-based rpg with way too much dialogue then this game is for you..Version: 3.1.30

Great game!I haven’t had so much fun with a phone game for so long. :D.Version: 3.1.30

Fantastic game...Love this game....Version: 1.4.1

Pretty fun, no payment necessaryThere are a lot of mechanics to this game and learning it all, watching it all come together is satisfying. Very possibly to play without spending and player base is generally pleasant and helpful. I’m enjoying my experience.Version: 3.0.00

ExcellentClassic SMT vibes from some old school artwork to the fresh ost. I’ve played this for almost 2 years now and still get excited or drawn In by certain events and updates. I want to rate it 5 stars but Shion has a totally unforgivable line in the HQ that I cannot accept. The characters that show up in the hq are random and there is no way to stop her from appearing there and saying that line. They added menu shortcuts so for the most part I can play the game without ever encountering it now so I’m glad for that but they should just have a checklist we can untick so only our favorites show up in the front and talk. Maybe it’s just me but I really hate how much this unique instance of ‘joking’ about suicide detracts from the rest of the game. It’s just out of place and ruins immersion because typically this game series handles themes like that much better. The translation is also really good everywhere else so it doesn’t seem like it’s an accident... It’s just confusing..Version: 3.2.20

Fun and interesting.First off, I’ll say that I’m not a fan of stories that are predictable. The story is very cliche and easy to predict. Which is not really a bad thing. I’ve cleared up to the 5th Chapter and felt no less bored with it now than at the start. That aside, I haven’t NEEDED to spend a single penny. There is/was a summon blocked behind a small transaction cost, but that’s about it. As far as I can tell, there’s no real need to buy anything. The demons are easy to obtain and so to are the currency needed for the various summons. There’s very little to complain about, it’s a decent game, the only real complaint I have is that there’re only a handful, about a dozen, chapters. But I only started about a day prior to writing this. So I haven’t seen everything. There are some complex systems when it comes to your demons. But nothing that requires you to troll forums and spreadsheets for hours at a time. And there are plenty of demons to hunt for and fuel that Pokémon Collection thirst. The AR system is kinda wonky, but after a few attempts I got used to it. I read review say that it does murder your battery charge and boy were they right. I get about a few hours outta it, but beyond that it’s the only real complaint that might matter to people. Oh, and bondage angels are a thing..Version: 2.2.00

One of the games I'v played the longest on iosThere are exactly 2 games I'v played for very very long and still holds my interest to this day. The two being Buriedbornes and DX2. I'm player rank 99 and have at least 3 full teams at max level and i still play daily. I'v brought my girlfriend and my bestfriend on board and they both still play after multiple years and is genuinely recommend this game to anybody who A- likes the Persona games And B- likes turn based RPGs And even the second one isn't required. My girlfriend doesn't necessarily like turn based RPGs, but she has played this game for years regardless of that because it is genuinely a well made and interesting game. They are fair with gem (the currency for gacha summons in the game) and provide enough to feel like you aren't stunted by not paying as much as the next guy. I'v spent about 10 dollars over the, about, 5 years I'v played and i have a very competitive team for PVE and PVP and it won't take you nearly this long to get at least one team that is decently good. At the very least, give it a try and play for about a week..Version: 4.1.00

Best jrpgBest jrpg on ios for sure.Version: 1.4.0

Overall: Very GoodGood game with a story that feels like it belongs with the SMT family. A bit grindy, but that’s something of a Shin Megami Tensei staple. Not to mention that the grinding aspect for EXP and resources circumvents and nearly diminishes the pay to win aspect of gacha combat games. Events are as innovative as they are plentiful. There are also plenty of ways to strengthen your demons, so even intermediate creatures can eventually be made viable in high difficulty situations. Very happy with Dx2. It’s great for Megami Tensei fans who are looking for something that’s both casual and interactive..Version: 3.2.20

Fun for Series NewcomersI have never played a SMT game, and I am very pleased to say that even though I know nothing of the video games, this app is very enjoyable! The music, graphics, art, and the characters are just great. The battle system is complex yet approachable, and allows for a lot of creativity in party customization. The game mode where you get to dungeon crawl in first person is very unique and well done. Also, the story keeps track of your character's moral choices selected in cutscenes, so the plot actually matters. And this game does not feel pay-to-win, even though it does have micro transactions. The game does have some dark and adult themes in some places, but everything is handled appropriately for anyone who is age 13 or older. This is more of a "heads up" to parents or anyone who is easily triggered. This is definitely a game worth playing!.Version: 1.4.0

FanboyBeen a SMT fan since I started playing on PS2.Version: 3.2.00

It's pretty gudFor all the people who want to play a real Shin megoomy tensei game..Version: 1.4.0

GreatIf you love the games series... You will Love this game !!!.Version: 1.4.0

Great game but too easyIt’s very fun but being able to summon 100 at least 3 star demons after the tutorial is very over powered (for the turn that the anniversary event is happening).Version: 3.1.30

Recommended For Any SMT FanI have played this game for free since release. There is little to no pressure to spend money (unless you want to do PVP) and the game is incredibly fun. They hold special events more often than not, and the special demons are rotated so you can get ones you miss when they come back around. I bought something from their store today to pay them back for all the years of free entertainment. If you need something to hold you over in-between SMT releases I’d heartily recommend this game..Version: 4.2.01

Best game in the franchiseAbsolutely love it.Version: 5.2.00

Excellent game but last update breaks itIt looks like last update broke the game, I am stuck at the first disclaimer with a loading logo looping over and over. Great game so far.Version: 4.3.00

Let me turnThis game is great, and I love it so far. The only thing that peeves me currently is that i can’t turn around in Aura Gate. Aside from that, great game..Version: 3.2.20

Good gameIt’s a decent game, I just find it’s a bit much going on as a new player jumping into it, maybe slow things down a bit at the start and unlock things as we level up. The tutorials keep pulling me away from what I’m trying to do which can be a bit annoying to as they are all over the place. But overall it’s a fun game to play love the characters and gameplay.Version: 4.0.20

Amazing Game, but Could Do More With VRSo far, I love the game. It reminds me so much of Persona 3 Portable. While there may be in app purchases, it is not needed to play the game and do well. I love the VR mode, but I think it would be cool if more was done with this. Like Pokemon Go, you could walk around with your phone, and get a notification of a “nearby demon.” As long as you are in the general area you can fight the demons, talk to them, etc. It would give you items, experience, or a new demon. You would not have to have your phone on and out, and demons would not show on a map, but as long as you have location services and notifications on, you can come across a demon. In addition, you could also maybe come across other people with the app who were in that location at some point. You could friend them, and choosing to interact with their demon will give you all the info on that demon. Like strengths, weaknesses, nulls, etc..Version: 1.4.1

GoodShin megami tensei cool!!.Version: 6.1.00

My Harsh-ish ReviewI’m honestly satisfied with the gameplay mechanics, as they remind me of a proper MegaTen game. However, I have a few grievances that I need addressed like yesterday. The first thing wrong with the game is that it CONSTANTLY crashes on my iPhone 5. Could you please add a stability patch to try to fix that? The second thing wrong, I feel you should know this one by now— the Gacha rates for 5-star demons is far too low. I mean, it feels satisfying when I get one, don’t get me wrong. It just feels too low. Maybe try buffing the drop rates at the cost of the chance for a 3-star? That’s about all my complaints I can think of, other than the paywall. But if you guys can humor me and fix the problems I have compiled here, I will gladly change my 4-star rating to a 5-star..Version: 3.2.40

AMAZING GAME!This is my first Shin megami tensei game and I'm loving it so far! The menu and battle system is so stylish! Good job guys! 👌👌.Version: 1.4.0

Grind centralGood RPG; have been playing for about two weeks and haven’t ran out of stamina, unlike most free-to-start games, your stamina regen is capped but not stamina you gain when leveling up. Lots of grinding for experience, but the music is good and the design is neat so far. Good stuff!.Version: 1.4.1

Amazing writing!Even translated into English, SMT is a thoroughly engaging and often very politically zeitgeisty game. For me, storyline is usually an irritating and clichéd throwaway in games of this genre, but this is really considered and interesting, with well-developed characters and episodes I actually care to know about. The game itself, as others have noted, is wildly detailed and complex. It’s taken me just over a week of daily play to get my head around most of it, but that’s all been well signposted and enjoyable. Also, the player ratings for demons are hilarious - a huge bonus..Version: 1.8.0

My dreams have come true.I absolutely adore SMT and Persona, now I have the ability to play with the demons that appear in the base games and take pictures of them. Idk man, sounds like a win win for me. Take pictures of hee ho on my bedroom floor??? Please and thank you. Besides the AR feature, I enjoy the characters and the missions I go on. I really *really* like Rika. The battles and entertaining and I enjoy interacting with other players. I’m hoping that Sega and Atlus keep this game running for at least a ten years like Atlus did with SMT Imagine or have 95% the functionality work offline so players can still do battles, use the AR function, summon demons and enjoy the experience. It would be such a shame if this game went under. ❤️.Version: 4.0.20
