Quite a terrible app.BodyFit is an agonizing experience in every category I can think of and others still waiting to be invented. The laws of chance suggest that something should have gone right with this app. Not here. It puts a nail in the coffin for your hopes of tracking your workouts, but it will need a lot more coffins than that. I’ve seen beta apps that work better than this. I urgently advise people: Do not download this app because it will give you an excruciating urge to throw your phone against the wall. I would rather eat a golf ball than rely on this app to work. Great potential, disappointing long termI have been a long time user of this app and was really happy with the variety of workouts and the tracking features. However my subscription through apple kept being signed out by the app and I would then lose all my progress. Any opportunity to chat with their support staff was met with a long delay, cutesy annoying names (you are speaking with agent Chiseled Chris, or Ripped Rita 🙄) and inability to find my account as a result of Apple’s subscriber ID. The recent price increase and lack of support (took 5 days to respond to my ticket) was the last straw. When I finally sort out my schedule and get to the gym I NEED everything to work perfectly. Sort out your service BodyFit, and if you’re interested in this app, consider an alternative or subscribe through them (Bodybuilding.com) directly..Version: 3.1.2

Great but could use improvementLove the app. Great workouts. Reasonable subscription price for what we’re getting but the app logs out to frequently. I find myself having to log in almost every time I unlock my phone to see my next exercise which is time consuming and sometimes I have poor internet connection which resets the app useless. Perhaps if we could download to our device or something like that would be more reliable but I find it very frustrating at times. Multiple Server IssuesI think the app is pretty good as far as it’s usability and the workout programs. I use it all the time. But one thing that has plagued the use of it, is it’s reliance on being connected to their network, especially when it’s down. It doesn’t have any offline capabilities. Note to developers: consider creating the ability to locally store the workouts people are using. That way if your service is down, people can still use the app that we are paying monthly to use. That is one option, and I’m sure their are more. At the end of the day, being able to use the app when there isn’t a connection for whatever reason would be a minimum expectation. Good App but bad reportingThis app is good for the number of workout plans it has and the ability to track your workout. But what good is a plan and tracking my workout if I don’t have a useful easy reporting tool to see my progressive or lack there of. Recording of any information is only valuable if it helps you make better decisions or improve results. The current format doesn’t allow that and for that I’m being critical in my review. I can only see what I did in a give workout, there isn’t any summary reports, trends reporting, gains in exercises over time. If the reporting tool doesn’t improve I don’t think I will continue my subscription. Please update.Version: 2.3.0

I love and hate it.The programs are amazing, the workouts are great the variety is decent. It gives you a timer on certain programs for only the first set of the exercises and not the other sets. For example let’s say I have 2 set of circuits with 3 sets each. it will pop up the timer for the first set in both of the circuits but not the other sets. Also the videos that show how todo the exercise don’t match up with the exercise listed in the program. For example, in my current program I says todo sesaw lunges ( right leg then left leg) with dumbbells but the example video should shoulder sesaw press. Missing BodySpace feature :,(1. Sure it looks slick, but the workout images are teensy tiny on type of a white background. Its like little ants - I need to be able to see the images because i don't know every single workout by its name. I also need to be able to see the images so i can know if i have that particular equipment at my gym. 2. I am forced to choose a cookie cutter workout plan. I want to build my own plan and templates with the exercises that work for me. I tried replacing the exercises with alternatives, but cant see the images to actually choose what works for my body and injuries. 3. I cant filter through the workouts like on the old app. I want the ability to filter by muscle group, sort by rating, and add to a custom template that I can reuse for my plan..Version: 4.1.2

Rename to BUGfitI’ve been using this app for years, with not a lot of issue. Then all a sudden it updated and I had to sign up for a subscription (never had to do that before). I’m currently in the free trial and after two days of using it, it’s conveniently locked me out. When I try to log in it just sits there on the loading screen. I’ve tried turning my phone off, deleting the app and signing in again. But from the sign in page it sits there loading and then gives an error “something went wrong. Your apps needs cleaned up badlyI have used BodySpace/BodyFit for awhile not. They’re great apps. But, why is there 3 apps for the same things. There is BodySpace/BodyFit/ (and a store app) like just make one app instead of three? Now as in what app to use? BODYSPACE, not bodyfit. They do the same exact thing but bodyspace gives useful data. Show you what you lifted last week if you forgot. As well as showing previous lifts data from the same lift. Shows one rep max. Useful data that you need while lifting to calculate if you should increase/decease weight. Also while storing all this data. Bodyfit tracks the lifts but doesn’t really even store it. Doesn’t even transfer it to the website so it’s literally a waste of time putting your data in there. I don’t know how much of a waste I’ve put into this app and can even go back and see how much I lifted. All in all, do not download bodyfit and download bodyspace to track your workouts..Version: 2.28.0

Almost perfect.I really love this app, but there are a few things that I would like to see before it’s perfect. I’d like to see more female focused workouts with more pregnant and postpartum plans. Also, the app kicks me out every few months and keeps me out. No incorrect password or anything just trouble logging in. I will be forced out of the app for days and then it will magically just work again. It’s frustrating when your are trying to follow a workout schedule and you get kicked out of the app with the schedule and tracking. It’s great when it worksI love the workouts provided by this app. I have some difficulties with the disconnect between the rest timer and my Apple Watch i.e. it doesn’t always chime or vibrate when the timer is up. Also, in the past 4 months it seems the server goes down for days at a time. This completely freezes my routine as I am trying to follow these workout plans. I’m an intermediate weightlifter, but these different routines help me get into muscle confusion better than I can on my own limited creativity and knowledge. Good softwareWhilst the software is easy to use and great for tracking progress I expected more from the all access side. You don’t get much more information then if you were using the free BodySpace app. The videos and descriptions are more about the bodybuilders then about the actual program. Each program should have further guidance on the nutrition and individual workouts to enhance the results for the program. I don’t care to see a man walking around a shopping centre throwing items into his trolley, it would be more beneficial if he was to outline the items he was selecting and advise the benefits of the product. Terrible App No Customer ServiceThis app and the website are absolutely trash. For the price you pay for a subscription it is NOT worth it. I was simply trying to change/update my email address and PW associated through the app, so I could access it through my web browser. Apparently, they aren’t able to assist me with this simple request. One of their live agents tried sending me a link with instructions and how to do it myself, but the link takes me a “page not found.” When I told the live agent that, they disappeared. Tried calling their phone number on their site, and it just hangs up. Extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service they have. I will not be continuing with my yearly subscription. Could be betterHello, when I check an exercise history during a workout, it shows data from over a month ago even if I did that same exercise a few days ago or a couple of weeks back. I think all the history data that I can see is from March and I’ve done the exercises in May. Is this a glitch? I’ve been having to taking screenshots of my workouts so I know what weight I used last time. Also, some workout programs talk about replacing exercises in the app, but I don’t see an option to replace an exercise that was scheduled in a program. For example, donkey calf raises is scheduled in the program Project Mass. I wish I could replace it by another calf exercise while I’m tracking the workout. I can do another calf exercise, but then I’m not recording the data (weight and rep range) for the right exercise because I’m doing leg press calf raise, but i’m tracking donkey calf raise in the workout. If you wouldn’t mind paying a higher subscription for the app if you could fix these two issues..Version: 3.0.0

Nice idea but super glitchyI love the idea of having all the workouts in one place. And the design is really nice, easy and streamlined. BUT (and there are three big ones) 1 - it keeps logging me out. And once you’ve been logged out it takes a while for it’s little mind to clear. 2 - it is too heavily reliant on an internet connection. My gym is underground so this is obviously problematic. In the previous app if I opened it with connection it was fine but no go with all access. 3 - (and this is the big one) it doesn’t keep track of my previous weights. If I’m tracking an exercise I want it to pre-populate my weight so I know what I’m working with. The difficulty scale is excellent, but put it to good use. So CrappyThis app is the paid version of the free BodySpace app but it doesn’t work well. I have been using BodySpace for years and switched over to BodyFit thinking that my workout history would come over and it didn’t. When I spoke to customer support they just said “No BodySpace is legacy program that we aren’t getting rid of but are no longer managing.” Then I had a workout not save on the app and again customer support said “ You can mark it completed on the web site and just write down what you did this week for next week. “ I have never had a workout tracking app for two weeks and had to contact customer support twice and them be no help at all. If you ever need app support forget itI have been using the BodyFit for several years. Let’s start with the bad since I’m currently frustrated because the app is stuck on load screen. There are some definite bugs. First and foremost occasionally the app just doesn’t load. It gives error messages to check connection when all other apps function just fine. When this happens forget trying to get help. It’s a frustrating automated “live” chat that has yet to ever help me resolve a problem. The phone sends you directly to an automated chat they call “live” or email that takes sometimes days to get resolution for. I’m sitting at the gym as I write this and the app won’t load. So…..I have no way to access the workout plan I’m paying for. Very frustrating! I have uninstalled, reinstalled, tried every crappy support option they provide, and tried several different internet connections. When the app does work, it will crash if you take a picture with your phone. It doesn’t know what a drop set is, it loses history of prior training records. When you click the history sometimes it gives a notice that you have no history even though you did that exercise the week before. I do like the workout plans, many of which were free on BodySpace and have. The potential for this app is good, But this app needs a lot of work!.Version: 3.0.0

Bad bad badBeen struggling with this app holding on to my previous records as is. Today I opened it and it’s asking me to subscribe. This is after I was billed for 69 dollars after my one week free trial last week. Awesome service, app needs workI found this app and instantly knew I was about to become consistent with my workouts. And I have been ever since. It is insanely affordable, tons of fitness programs to choose from, and the first one I picked has been engaging and super challenging with awesome results so far. That being said, the app has been super glitchy. It logs me out all the time, freezes if I do the wrong combination of actions, and then takes literal minutes to reboot. This is kind of a buzz kill in the middle of workouts and has caused me to have to memorize my workouts ahead of time so I can keep going when this happens, and this limits a lot of the benefits from app features mid workout. I think this issue (present in good service areas) is compounded at one of my gyms with slow data speeds. This app NEEDS OFFLINE CAPABILITY. We need to be able to download and track our workouts offline, including the videos. And a stability update would be great. The product itself is so good though that I’m waiting a bit for these updates before I jump ship. Help me out!.Version: 2.4.0

Improvements neededApp gives you access to great plans but improvements are necessary: 1. Ability to swap the order of exercises on the go. Should also adapt # sets for example if 1st exercise has more sets than others 2. Suggest weights. When running a plan, if target is to increase weights by 5-10k then app should pre-populate with target weights taking into account previous session and perceived exhaustion input 3. Ability to add exercises on the go within plans 4. Link to Strava, garmin, Apple Watch etc 5. Make rest timer more audible. Disappointing for subscription based appDay 16 of having the app. Pros: Lots of content. Easy to navigate. Great when it works Cons: Sometimes comes up with an error when trying to log the workout you’ve just completed. The only way around it is to mark it down as a skipped workout. What trial?I loaded onto my phone, opened the app and selected the only option of “lets get started”. Next screen gives me 2 choices, monthly or annual subscription. Am I missing something? Where is the 7 day free trial it advertises? I’m not paying for something I haven’t seen yet. Developer responded several months later saying I have to select a membership type as it will automatically bill me after the 7 day trial period if I don’t cancel. How about just letting me see the app and if I like it, let me sign up and select automatic renewal. Stop taking away the consumers choice. Good app... When it worksGreat app for tracking workouts and follow plans to keep you on track. However on many occasions it randomly logs me out and can be difficult to log back in. I have trouble connecting whist on 4G which from what I’ve read from other reviews is fairly common. It can be very offputting and take your mind off your workout, which isn’t good, as you keep trying to sign in to the app. Would be 5 star if bodybuilding can fix this problem..Version: 2.10.0

Doesn’t save progress alwaysI have a love hate relationship with this app. I love the access to workouts. I hate that if you track a workout, track exercises and complete the exercise but do not complete ALL the exercises and then close the app then you lose all your previously saved exercise data. Next, so much clicking to get anywhere and confusing menus. Workout plans would seem to mean your workout plans you are currently doing. Nope. It shows a library of workout plans but that’s it. To get to your workout plans you need to go the manage exercises section. You then can remove or you can choose the exercise plans. Overall it’s nice library of exercise severally lacking of.Version: 3.0.0

Great content, poor appBeen using this app for a few months now and the workouts, nutritional and supplement information is superb. The app itself however is one of the most poorly made apps I have on my phone. You can’t log in without WiFi which is the first massive problem, and also sometimes when I press “complete workout” on the app it won’t save and has even wiped all of my saved info before. If a few things on this app were fixed then no doubt this app would be 5 stars but unfortunately it is completely unusable at times..Version: 2.15.0

Rest Day/Workouts Not Being TrackedThis app is seamless and straightforward when it comes to making a plan and sticking to it. I am fortune enough to have a majority of the equipment necessary to perform nearly all exercises asked for in each plan, which is great. However.. This has happened multiple times over, particularly in Jim Stoppani’s 6-weeks to Shred and the Alpha Men workout, where my workouts simply wont be logged onto the calendar after I’ve fully completed the workout. I’ve tried restarting the app and re-logging all the weights and reps again, but it still won’t appear. I’ve also tried to visit the website itself and track it there, but to no avail. This app’s failure to log my workouts after consistent attempts is making it difficult to track my efforts, and can sabotage my progress in the future because I won’t be able to remember every single weight I’ve lifted as time goes on when I’m trying to do progressive overload. If there are workarounds or fixes done to this app, I’d be thrilled to give 5 stars, but this hassle of failure to record my progress is detrimental to me..Version: 2.16.0

Good until it isn’t.Worked fine for 5 weeks. Then I get multiple different messages they’re raising the price. Ok. Until at the same time the app logs me out, wont let me log back in using apple, have to reset my password and then after all that it refuses to save the workout I’m on! So I lost a whole session. Considering that’s the only job this app has I can’t in good conscience recommend it. Tried to reach tech support and 12 hours later nothing. So I can’t recommend the app or the staff behind it. Update. Took tech support over a week to get back to me. And now they have increased their price AND rolled out some update that makes your set do a countdown in your headphones for your next set. That by itself isn’t horrible but it pauses your music and you have to go back into the music app to restart your music. Let me tell you home much fun that is mid-workout. A real ShameI used to use this app constantly. As I progressed and needed assistance with my growth and weight loss I would always use bb.com. A couple of years later I return to needing an app like this and This app now has ZERO free features.. not even basic workouts or trackers. Such a shame to lose such a valuable resource and I can’t validate spending this much on the app. I’m sure if the plans are as good as they used to be it’s still a good app but it should be crystal clear that this app is in NO WAY FREE!!.Version: 2.20.0

Unable to cancelSubscriptionI have tried several times to cancel My subscription but unable. The App Store not Google play lets me do this, it says I have no subscription. On contacting BodyFit they were unhelpful and said I had to go through Google play, when I explained the situation they were still unhelpful but took my money each month. Excellent programs but average appThis app doesn’t have an accompanying Apple Watch app and doesn’t write to the Health App so it’s difficult to track progress. Videos are used where GIFs could be and they aren’t accompanied with a written explanation. These are all standard features of comparable apps so it’s disappointing to see given the subscription fees. Plans are clearly excellent and accompanied by loads of explanation, which is great but programs are limited. The ability to select the number of days you want to work out and to build a program around that would be great. Responsive exercises based on past exercises would also be great as would the option to substitute exercises. I did find tracking workouts wasn’t super intuitive and would expect this to be the primary feature..Version: 2.7.0

Cannot access workouts unless on wifiEveryday, I wake up at 5:45 to go and workout. The workouts are amazing but every time I open the app without wifi I am logged out. Even on 5g I can’t log in. I’ve now had to screenshot workouts just in case I forget to log in at 5:45am!.Version: 2.28.0

App crashes and has saving issuesApp has good content, but when you can’t save your workouts and lose past saved workouts as well, it defeats the purpose. None of my workout history is accurate anymore as the app has changed it on its own, won’t allow me to save current workouts in my 55 day plan, and crashes at least 2-3 times a week. Needs an Apple Watch integrationThis would be a 5 star app if it had an integration for Apple Watch – most other fitness apps do, which means I can track my workout without being glued to my phone. Also, it doesn’t seem to track the last weight used, so when you do a particular exercise it won’t show what your last achievement was. Just about usableAudio playback is stolen when you switch into the app - it plays the audio for the instructional video even if you haven’t opened it. Notes don’t save. Previous weights and reps rarely move into the next exercise round. Navigation is clumsy and many screens which look visually similar have different functions making orientation poor..Version: 3.0.0
