✓ Wow, a surprise hit!I went in knowing this was a gacha game but I read some other reviews that raved about this game so I gave it a shot. I’m several hours in and it is surprisingly good of a game. Notice I didn’t include the word ‘mobile’, because it plays like something from an era where developers/publishers actually took pride in their work. The story is pretty good, but the real star of the show is the writing of characters — their thoughts, dialogue, and development is where it’s at. This is what Japanese developers excel at, making characters feel varied and unique (albeit some ‘classic’ tropes are of course present). And the subquests can be pretty entertaining too, while maybe not as enthralling as say Witcher 3 side quests, the writing holds up and is by far better than most other mobile game quests/writing. What’s more, even though this is a gacha game, earning the gacha currency by playing is not hard or laborious and the pull rates seem fair. I am seriously considering spending money to support these kinds of developers. You should at the very least download Another Eden and give it a try!.PertinaciouspupVersion: 3.6.50

✓ Fantastic title overallI’ve been playing Another Eden pretty regularly the past few weeks, and really enjoying myself. It’s got great writing and music and the classic combat is really engaging, not to mention the wealth of sidequest content you can dive into to take a break from the story. The gacha element feels pretty light overall; I’ve managed a number of good pulls already and only spent a little on chronos stones, which I was happy to do just to support the game. There are however a couple things I’d like to see taken into consideration. Number one, it’d be incredibly nice if a mechanic were out into place to sell, dismantle, or discard old equipment. I’ve got so many exp badges laying around my inventory that I don’t need, and would love to clean it up some. Secondly, I wasn’t expecting the dungeon from the Absolute Zero Chain episode to permanently disappear when beaten, and still have a lot of kills to go to get the enemy study trophies from there. Doing it in Another Dungeon could take days, if not weeks of work, so it’d be cool if this dungeon could be added to the Records Room. I know it’s unlikely since it’s not part of the main story but hey, gotta ask right? :p But yeah, overall I’m very pleased with this game. Looking forward to continue playing. ✓ JRPG Gold!!I never write reviews on here. This is my first. But I feel this app truly deserves it. It’s not just good, it’s amazing. It’s not just some mission based game that they made an app for, it’s a full on game with a plot. All the characters have stories and backgrounds. I love it. It feels like it should be a console game and best of all it’s free. I’ve played sooooo much of this game and love it. Now some people have given it low reviews for having to buy gems to unlock people. And I hate that too. Let me assure you it isn’t the case here. You have so many gems thrown at you you’ll be summoning characters left and right. Meet a new enemy for the first time, here’s five gems. Killed twenty of those monsters, here’s ten gems. Unlocked a new character. Got a character to a certain level. Oh and also you completed a main story point, 50 gems. I get around 1000 gems every other day and summon ten characters at a time. So no, it does not force you to buy gems to unlock people. You can of course do that but it doesn’t give you anyone that you couldn’t have gotten from the free gems. And I applaud them for that. ✓ Amazing game and one of my new favorite!The art style and fluid movement of the character is stunning. And from the storyline to overall structure of the game it doesn’t feel like a mobile game at all. I’m really impressed and will be playing this a lot. Though I sometimes wish the main character’s gender could be changed that isn’t a big issue since I’m used to it already. The only major thing that I could say is an issue is the price of the gacha which is pretty expensive considering there isn’t a guaranteed 5 star after the first time paid summon. I hope there are future banners that will have a high drop of five stars but I’m pretty happy that I managed to pull Mighty who I really wanted so I’m doing fine with 4 stars and a 5 star for now. Currently, at my point, in the game it’s not like you NEED 5 stars to progress which means the overall power balance is good thus I’m really enjoying the game. ✓ Download interferenceI used to play this game a couple months back, but dropped it after seeing it was taking up too much phone storage. Now I’ve decided to pick it up again, but download interference has made it impossible. The game starts installing and, as close as it gets to finishing, it never does. I’m not sure if it’s my phone or the app itself, nonetheless, it’s frustrating to have to watch the instalment reach about 90% completion before crashing and plummeting back down to 0%. ✓ An amazing JRPGI find that this game has so much content, I can’t keep up. I also don’t feel stressed because nothing is “limited time only.” They do have banners which increase rates but they come and go and never an issue. You can beat the game without using the dream encounter for characters but you get so many free strones you can do plenty of encounters. Each character has their own quests which reward you well with not only their background story, but Sith stones, items and gives a sense of reason. It’s refreshing seeing characters randomly in the game but when they are in your party, they are not on the map. This game has extreme amounts of extras and the challenge is quite high. Reddit is a good place to read up as there is just so much you can do in this game it can be overwhelming, but again, no time limits for content. There are so many side story events, NPC quests, character quests that you can end up forgetting the main story which itself is extremely long. The amount of quality dialogue and pithy statements is alone worth the download. The game’s stories are worth experiencing for itself. And gameplay is enjoyable and quick. No super long fights or meaningless categories of character traits in the game. My one negative (and thus the 4-star) However, the grinding required for armor is too costly. All of my characters are at level 49. did every quest available, even hit a few of the dungeons and not one of my characters has even level 30 armor!!! This is even more unfortunate when you consider there are three tier equipment at each level. Basic, advanced, and dungeon equipment. And even at that, I haven’t gotten one single set for any of my 30+ characters!! While the game masters the free-to-play system, there isn’t even a way to buy the equipment, so I’m left at the prospect of grinding for hours and hours. That...is unfortunate and a turnoff. Though I still pickup the game for the gameplay and story of side quests. Again, the story is worth every minute. Awesome and powerful. Would make this a Five-Star for acknowledgement and possible fix. Dont be fooled by flashy graphics and schoolgirl outfits of other games, this is the true RPG. It is even better than the gold standard RPGs like old final fantasy etc, because those games were made for a different era, when people had time to burn. This game is made for people who enjoy the old school games but also live in the modern world, where they dont have all the time to grind for 5 hours just to beat one boss. And I can’t express enough how much I love that you keep content in the game, instead of making it time-limited, it allows players both casual and hardcore to progress at their own pace. That being said, nearly every update you put out I have seen the same comments from most of the community, that the download screen stops or they get an error and after repeated attempts and several different “solutions” are ultimately forced to do the same thing each time...uninstall and then reinstall the game, just so that download will go through and they can get back to playing their game. I’m not sure why this is an ongoing issue and has yet to be resolved, but please look into it! Maybe start by putting a poll up on your Facebook page or whatever other means and ask players if they had issues with the downloads, of those that say yes, ask them what devices and such they use, or whatever other info you need, so that you can try to fix this issue. ✓ Amazing FREE RPG game!I can’t even begin to describe the experience. The game is solid and gives you your fantasy fix. The art style is amazing and each character feels solid and realistic to the story. It’s a side scroller but the animation is surprising for an app that’s free. The character move about making the worlds feel alive and you can chat to the townsfolk. Most buildings you can enter and talk to the residents. Buy armor and weapons for your characters and upgrade them to new heights! I’m amazed on how detailed it is, it reminds me a mix of Final Fantasy and chrono games. It’s is story driven and you get free characters to mess with as you play through the story. There are character, main, and side quests to play! All free!!!! ✓ Unofficial Chrono Trigger sequel!!This has to be one of the best kept secrets in gaming. The only explanation is that it is a “mobile game” which are historically trash. I assumed this would be horrible based on micro transactions alone but decided to give it a go due to the writer and composer. Holy cow. Not only are the micro transactions in no way required if you are used to grinding in JRPGs, but they can *gasp* be genuinely helpful from time to time. Beyond that, this is more of a sequel to Chrono Trigger than Chrono Cross was. There are Easter eggs everywhere for die hard fans. I’ve been waiting years for this game, and it has been hiding in plain site on the friggin App Store of all places. I typically despise playing games on my phone, but I’m over 10 hours in with this one so far, and I’m just scratching the surface (I’ve also spent $0 to get this far). I plan on throwing some money at the developers just to support it, as others have mentioned, so don’t let the in-app purchases turn you away. This is an insane game to be giving away. ✓ My Childhood Feels are StirredAmazing. Just wonderfully made. Stylistically, I’m a huge fan. There’s a lot of beautiful character design on each character you encounter. The maps have a really neat 3D effect that I haven’t seen before. Voice acting is super. The writing is well directed and fresh. I initially thought it was going to be cheesy and/or overdone as far as JRPG writing goes, but I’ve been pleasantly egged on with the premise to keep playing through the several arcs it’s got going on. I’ve been playing nonstop for three days now and I’m so stoked I haven’t seen a single ad despite the app being free. There are microtransactions in-game that are optional, but it in no way necessary. I honestly think it’s worth it to pay for a few things since, again, the game is completely free. This game makes me feel the same type of giddiness playing the Breath of Fire series as a kid. While the fights in this game are really difficult, mostly because you can only carry one food item to completely heal yourself while out of combat, that’s what makes this game interesting. ✓ On the topic of costly stones...I absolutely am in LOVE with this game. ANOTHER EDEN is a beautifully designed game with a story line that seems a bit cliché but adds it’s own touch. I love the characters and their designs, plus their individual animations. This game has taken its own view on JRPG Gatcha games. I’ve seen quite a few reviews and comments here about the price of Chronos Stones and how “pay to play” the game seems. People have complained about bosses being too difficult for their characters but this needs to be said; THIS IS AN RPG BASED GAME. You need to have TIME to play it and patience to grind it out. I haven’t had to pay for stones and I’ve been able to summon the 10 pull three times since I’ve started playing about a week and a half ago. The bosses are difficult if you don’t grind for leveling(like you should be doing anyway) or have the right equipment equipped. It’s easy to obtain materials to craft weapons and armor and gold is typically not a problem. There are usually a plentiful of side-quests to do before and after main-story bosses to complete to obtain more Chronos Stones and EXP. If you’re having difficulties beating a boss, try figuring out their attack pattern, keep healers in your party at all time and have people in your sub-party to switch out. Save your power gauge between boss-phases and if you aren’t worried about spoilers, try looking up what boss you’ll be facing next..AdmiralJellyVersion: 1.2.100

✓ A good game but...So far I like the game. The music is spot on, the story feels good, even the random battle system does not feel like a grind at this time. The one problem is the chronos stones and no I am not complaining that they are in the game but that their is a difference between paid stones and stones that you get for playing the game. At first I did not think about it much but then I went to look at the prices of the chronos stones and was shock that I would be $25 with their special prices ($32 normally) to get a random summoning. I feel that I would be much better that they would remove the Difference between the paid stones and the free stones. That way you can save up stones to get the slightly better summoning and or pay for stones so you can speed up the story or get the characters that you want. The only major flaw in this game is that there isn’t any way to sell old weapons and armor, you are just stuck with them forever. It would honestly be perfect if there was a way to break them back down into materials, or to just outright sell them, even a way to just simply delete them would be great cause after a while you are left carrying around all this stuff that is just completely useless to you. ✓ Just Good Enough to Get You HookedThis is a VERY GOOD GAME. It has a compelling story, like able main characters, and decent enough gameplay. It’s nothing new, in and of itself, but remarkably well done. The story characters are enough to clear the main game (through chapter 25). I did it. They update the game frequently with new characters to tackle the Daily Dungeons and Postgame to entice you. Then it’s up to RNG. You get freebies for playing. I’ve been playing for six months, and have done roughly 250 Summons, amassing 5 5 star characters (not counting Aldo, Chance Encounters, or Miyu) and 5 4 stars who can be upgraded. I’ve spent no money. The odds aren’t great, but they’re just rewarding enough to keep me logging in. I wish upgrading story characters wasn’t so hard, or their light/shadow completion increases on another dungeon had better rates, but overall, my only real issues are the difficulty of securing chant scripts for upgrades and the mind numbing tedium of fishing. ✓ Excellent gams, lots of contentI’d say it’s a really good game, can be tedious to grind items but the story and gameplay is really fun. Sometimes you’ll think a fight is impossible, for example a boss fight where even with a healer you did, so you switch to a full damage team and end up winning. Some fights will require the completely opposite approach, that mixed in with the great class upgrade system, a fair monetisation system, in which it seems they’d rather you play the game than buy premium currency. I’ve bought premium currency twice and gotten 4 5 star champs from it, although I’d say if you go through the game you’d have many four stars easily, and by playing the story it’s more than enough for 2-3 10x spins. The story is AMAZING, probably the best part. Art design 10/10, story 8/10, sometimes tedious especially with a few of the more boring side stories, then again some side stories are better than the main one. Most games I’ve played give you more for less and I feel it doesn’t really benefit you to put the in game currency that high since the game isn’t multiplayer based from what I’ve seen. That. But, for some reason after a certain number of turns the game just crashes whenever I fight with this boss. Also if my party gets wiped, the game also crashes. This isn’t a problem with any other fight or boss, literally only this Lavoger boss. Kind of frustrating considering it’s not a boss you can beat with a low amount of turns. Other than that, great game :) This game is completely f2p friendly, with a large variety of free 5 star units that can completely clear the game. This game is very casual, allowing you to play it on your own time as there are no limited time events, all content added to the game is permanent, including the multiple crossovers it had. This game is also strictly PvE with no means to compete with other players for rewards or rankings, just bragging rights on how fast you can clear a hard boss or something. The story is also something to pay attention to, considering previous works from the main writers, although I still think there should be a “skip dialogue” option as there are some side quests that I frankly just don’t care about. One of the driving forces of this game I believe is the art. The character and environmental design all look stunning and to top it all off, it has some great musical pieces as well. But I do have to say, I do believe the weakest part of this game is its gacha. It’s very unforgiving for f2p users. Quite low rates and it’s technically possible to never get a 5 star from the gacha as there is no sort of pity system, although you would have to be REALLY unlucky if that were to happen, you’re bound to get a few but no guarantees. If you do decide to pay, the paid banners do allow guaranteed 5 stars though. ✓ Masato strikes again!!!So I downloaded this game this morning and, since I didn’t have any plans for today, I haven’t been able to put it down. I just got to Ratle and I’m loving this game so far. It’s very reminiscent of the Chrono series (my favorite games of all time) and even some of the music seems to be just altered scores of Chrono Cross music. Ratle is clearly the SS zelbess theme from CC just remixed a bit. A spiritual successor if I’ve ever seen one. And the fact that it’s on mobile and it’s free is quite bizarre but very much welcomed. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but the beginning was rather boring and not very creative. But after a certain someone gets taken, time travel happens and it really picks up from there. I don’t know how long this game is but I hope I’ve barely scratched the surface. The story is intriguing, the music fits very well for each mood, and the combat is pretty fun. If you enjoyed the Chrono games or JRPGs in general I’d say download it. I see there are micro transactions but at this point I don’t see any way I could possibly run up against a pay wall. ✓ Unique in a gacha gameThis game is unique is the sense that it’s a gacha game, but it doesn’t feel like you’re playing a gacha game. It’s more like an old-time rpg (snes through the PS2 era) that you don’t need every character in the game to be the best. You also play against the story, not other people, so it’s really your fault if you don’t play it right and not luck or skill. The use of gems in this game is unique as well. Unlike other gacha games that uses gems for everything, this game only uses them for getting characters and reviving them if you die. Of course, you can pay for them, but it’s not obligatory to get ahead of the game, and there are so many quests in this game that you’ll get enough gems to play the game. Weapons also help you out, but also unlike the other gachas, this game’s weapons don’t have random stats and not based on luck for stats. You just need to get the materials and the blacksmith will buy them from you automatically. Different materials are needed for different weapons, but it’ll Guide you to the locations for the weapons. Overall, I don’t need to spend money on this game, but because it’s so well crafted I would just to support them. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because late in the game it becomes very tedious to get strong enough to progress, taking weeks of grinding to promote any character, you can only get so many gems a week from farming and it’s not very much considering how much late game classes cost to upgrade. The rng can be absolutely mortifing, trying to get a chant script to upgrade one character has a .02% of dropping in very hard dungeons or it costs 400 gems ( you’re limited to 120 a week from farming ) and you need those gems to get the other tomes needed to get your characters other required items. For example, your main character needs 10 special tomes that you can only get 4 per week, 90 of a certain other tome that you might get 2 of per dungeon run, 30 of another tome that if your lucky you might get 1 every other run, and the notoriously difficult to obtain chant script that you need 5 of, you might see one in 100 dungeon runs. Oh and your limited to 10 normal dungeons that don’t even drop a chant script, and 5 very hard dungeon runs per day! So you get 5 chances a day to get a .02% drop. Insane. ✓ Beautiful, stunning, and self pacedI downloaded Another Eden roughly a month after it’s global release and I have been hooked since. The graphics of the game are beautiful, the music fits the scenery, and the character designs are unique (aside from natural 3 stared characters). Each character has its own special story line and unique abilities so you can plan for upcoming battles. This is a classic RPG where you can’t rush into area to area and expect to bulldoze the storyline. You need to to take the time and level the characters and upgrade your weapons. You have the time to do so. This isn’t your typical mobile game where you have to pay to win. It’s single player only and the game gives you plenty of in game currency to take part in the gotcha banners. Roughly every 2 weeks the game adds new updates that are permanently added to the game so if you put it down for a bit there is none of that sense of feeling that you have missed something or now behind other players. The only sort of daily login you have is 30 in game currency a day, which in my opinion is not bad at all. Another Eden is beautifully designed and completely free. It keeps you playing even after you beat the main content. If you are a fan of classic RPGs this is the game for you. They don’t really make them like this anymore. Plus the graphics and music are absolutely beautiful! I have been playing for several hours and it is so hard to stop. I saved all my chrono stones until I could do a 10 pull all at once, and up to that point I never felt like I had any problems with the combat in the game. In fact, I still use the 4 I started out with as my main party. Since it’s not multiplayer you can do your party any way you want without having to worry about competing with other players. I have not at any time felt pressured to pay real money. Although I might just to support this game because I love it so much. I would easily have paid to buy this game in the store if I had known how awesome it is. Yes it’s a gacha game and it take a lot of rng to get the units you want but all most all the 5* are OP as they can carry you all for most of the content, and by the time your stuck you’ll have about 2-3 more 5*. The problem I’m going to explain is called lower gap which happen with the new and huge update making alot of of the old 5* look like child’s play. Is it cool that these new characters are OP? Yes. ✓ Lovely gameI’ve come played since the start of Launch and have dropped and picked up the game on a number of occasions when time has permitted. It continues to hold my attention and the stories are charming and some of the characters amazing in both story and design. The problem with this game, for me, is in some of the translations. There is usually a glaring mistake somewhere with each new patch. In some cases there are multiple sentences that are poorly constructed or don’t make much sense. The quality control in the translations need some improvement for a game this heavily dependent on character development. The story is still understandable, but it does leave you wishing more effort was put forth. If this was fixed (I’m looking at you OG Hardy quest/auction) then this score would be higher. ✓ Fun, basic, a true classic RPGI have to agree with the other review on here about costly stones, you really can play this game without them, you don’t have to collect all of the characters to progress the game but getting them helps continue gameplay. If you want to support the developers then buy them, I think they should maybe not be so cutthroat about how many you get from buying. Like how about $20 gets you like 10,000 stones that would definitely get people to spend money for characters. Now for storyline it’s pretty basic and cliche but that’s fine the game play is pretty straight forward and basically you just kinda get sucked in for hours running around doing quests and what not. Although it would probably be beneficial to drop some cash into it at some point this looks more likely to extend the end game rather than the journey to get there. I love RPGs but they’re usually all the same cliché story, and it’s the same with the time traveler story. However, this game really stands out to me. The animation style is unique and charming and the story is pretty unpredictable (in a good way)! I feel like all the characters, even the small ones, actually have personality with their quests. There are a few typos in the dialogue, but it’s not unreadable and the amazing gameplay makes up for it. I also like how the creator(s) take into account the health stations. They’re placed conveniently and they feel like it’s placed just when you need it. Overall, I would recommend this game if you’re a big fan of RPGs and just need something to do. Unlike most hero collecting games where the gacha system is heavily baked into the game and your overall team strength, this game feels like it was competed without the gacha system in mind, only implementing it afterwards as a way to make some amount of money off this free game. In fact, the gacha is really an afterthought, for me at least. The game is more than playable with the characters given to you through the story, and while the currency used for summoning is scarce and not exactly cheap, I’ve never felt like I needed to have a crazy rare 5 star gacha pull hero to progress. The game itself has great visuals, especially for a mobile game. I’m enjoying the story a lot more than I thought, it being extremely reminiscent of a Chrono Trigger. If you try and fight a boss at the same lvl you better be rdy to spend about 150 c stones for full party rezs . Case and point the lvl 24 boss can 2 shot anyone at same lvl and half way threw fight will throw out a aoe that hits for 900 ish , and then a 2nd aoe that hits for 500 ish no crit , when you can only heal for 200 hp and your toons only have about 1000 hp at that lvl well gl and be prepared to spend those stones . Also no hp or mp pots so grinding which is very necessary is very tedious because you have to go back to town over and over again . ✓ Best jrpgFantastic game and the only one I’ve ever found myself actually spending money on. However it’s not necessary to do so as you get free chrono stones as you play. Think of this as a traditional rpg with gacha elements. It’s all single player and events do not have time limits so it’s incredibly easy to pick up and play without worrying about progress. The only limit are the keys for end game dungeons and they’re more a reminder to put your phone down after a while. Be aware though that this game is GRINDY in true jrpg style. Grind is necessary for all Weapons and armour so no cheesing with p2w packs. Mobs and bosses are incredibly well designed with different game play mechanics for each one. Strategy is required esp for the harder foes but it’s very fun trying to figure out the best combos. There’s really no meta as you can change teams to your play style though Mariel is probably the only character that’s absolutely needed for dungeons since she’s currently the only 5 star healer. 4.5 stars can be upgraded but again GRIND. Story wise its pretty great, there’s humorous moments and then sad ones. I’m looking forward to future updates. Additionally if you need help for content reddit is a great place to start.
