✓ Interesting but deeply flawedThis game has so many smart improvements over Soda Dungeon 1, which already had some neat ideas of its own. But despite all those smart upgrades they neglected to fix the absolute biggest problem from the first game, and it makes this game unplayable for me (and I imagine for a lot of other people). The problem is: at a certain point, to play the game reasonably, you have to sacrifice your phone to endless afk dungeon runs. You can eventually speed these up, but they are still painfully long, and you can’t cancel them — once started you have to sit through the whole thing. Your phone becomes a dedicated Soda Dungeon device while you go off and do other things (there’s a slight offline progression mechanic, but it is so weak & slow that it rapidly becomes meaningless after your first couple of hours of play). This is why I quit Soda Dungeon 1 after a couple of days, and this is why I’m quitting Soda Dungeon 2 about 24 hours after starting it. I really want to like this game, especially with all of its really great qualities (character customization, easy & accessible character AI scripting, pets, solid humour & good visual/UI design). But I don’t think it’s reasonable to ask people to leave the game running on their devices for hours at a time, while they go do other things and only occasionally check in to see how far they’ve gotten. That one bad design element undermines all the other good qualities of this game and makes it unplayable..Dr QuasmoVersion: 1.0.3

✓ Fun to a pointI liked the first soda dungeon and still feel it’s better than this one. As far as I can tell it gets impossible to advance past dimension 6 without paying. I have been grinding in place for a week trying to beat it and still don’t appear to be close. It also has a lot of ads which I don’t mind if they aren’t overdone as a way to play for free. This has those 2 tier ads though where you watch a 30 second ad and then after it completes it makes watch a second screen for an additional timer. I can’t stand those..Jibble34Version: 1.0.4

✓ OkIt’s very repetitive and boring after a while, who wants there device being used for two hours at a time while watching auto attack, can’t u let them grind the levels whilst not logged in and able to use ur device for other things, much like the first game tbh no improvements in terms of playability a bit of new stuff and same pointless endless grinding sat bored watching it, what’s the point in doing 2 if it’s no better than one, less enemies than one, it’s ok but boring after a while especially when ur grinding through 1000 levels at a time plus,.Ipodnano632767333Version: 1.0.4

✓ DisappointingThe story in this game is utter garbage compared to the first game. Now it just feels like the player is the punchline of a very bad joke on the standard rpg formula. You didn’t even come up with anything new (Spoiler warning) The dark lords being fused into one evil dark lord is the exact same story we played in SD1, but you just copied and pasted that concept on the new game, only you made the bosses lame and stupid instead of actually making them remotely imposing. And 3 of the bosses (Dark Lady, Darker Lord, Darkest Lord) are just recolors of the first boss with mediocre movesets. At least the first game forces you to use nurses to heal that one boss since it’s undead, instead of this game letting idiots try to use 6 darkmages like that’s not stupid. This needs a lot of work, and maybe even a little bit of post-game content. Like for example, where is our lair of despair?.RealGameVetVersion: 1.0.4

✓ Ok but very limiting to increase grindI quite liked it but found that you can only level up one of each item with massively increases grind and the game just isn’t fun enough to make that worth it. ✓ Few bugsI made it all the way to D4 after a few days of rigorous game play. Last night, it started glitching when in the dungeons by not letting me select auto play, and completely freezing after 1 manual attack. I tried using battle credits, too, but it stayed frozen on the loading screen. In an attempt to restore it, and after several tries at reloading the game, I tried to reinstall it... which consequently deleted my entire save file! It was fun while it lasted, but I’m very upset that I had to lose my file because it continually glitched in the dungeon..NeelzebubVersion: 1.0.4

First: scripts are not working. Only the default script is working most scripts i create even according to the default one DOES NOT WORK. Mailbox says gifts claimed but where is then?? You’re prompted to watch an ad every time you open the app and again every 2 hours of gameplay (on death). They mix these ads in with your usual menus, because you’re likely to click through them quickly, and thus it’s very likely that you’ll accidentally click ‘Yes’ and watch the ad. ✓ Fun at first, now repetitive and staleI had a blast at first and paid 10 dollars to avoid ads because there are ads being shoved down your throat every single level. I cannot beat level 600 though, my team is 6 level 50 mystics with the best loot I can find and thousands of points put into relics. Even after beating my way there plus over 1,000 battle point battles. Some items are impossible to find, loot gets stale, I’ve played almost 15 hours of it since it came out and I think I maxed out on fun. I’m guessing all these 5 star reviews haven’t gotten to the level 6 boss yet cause other people have complained about it too. ✓ It’s okayIt’s an okay game in my opinion however it doesn’t have the same feel or look as the original like the hit and crit sounds are so bland in this game while in the original when you hit a crit it was amazing the new mechanics are also really weird without needing to be and the music is the absolute worst aspect of the game in the original soda dungeon every area got different music and you could warp to any level at anytime after unlocking the wizard but in this you need to go to warrior level? But I digress it’s an okay game if it was the original and if the original soda dungeon was this game it would be a lot better however the mechanics of the game the music and the designs of this sequel are a bit lackluster compared to the original (I also say this with having over 300 hours in the original soda dungeon. So it's grindy and not very rewarding until floor 3000 and then you might as well stop playing after that. It's very fun up until floor 1500 and I think that's really where they ceased development. My real complaint is that the caps buy option is next to the close button for relics with no confirmation. On small phones that's a real problem. I spent real money and I was saving caps to unlock turning off sodas and I was curious that it was blown raising a low level relic 5 points. ✓ Hold My SodaIt’s fun until you fund the upgrades which doesn’t cost much and then you kill the dark lord and enter a new dimension.. enter the dungeon again and use auto play.. wait 15 - 30 minutes.. rinse an repeat while your phone or device is just sat there saying please do something else, I’m in dimension 8 now and I’ve only played for 6 days and apparently there is only 11 so after a few more boring hours my game is complete, tell me if I’m wrong. Once I got to lvl 600 (well, 599), the game play stalled and became a play once a day and hope you can build your heroes up enough to eventually move on. That was some time ago.
