✓ Must play! (Pros and Cons)Okay I’ve been playing Harvest Town for a solid week so I decided to write a review. I am dog water at writing so I’m going to put it into bullet points. :) Pros: Way better than expected! Nice mechanics/Not super laggy The graphics are good. It’s too good to be free! The sound effects/Music are lovely! The Townies are so adorable C: Easy to make money/advance in the game Cons: Sort of slow to the story? (I’ve been playing for a week and I’ve only really done quests, where as some other games I’ve played get right on the story) Can only marry some of the NPCs? (You can date many of the townies but only marry 3?) Not a lot of side stuff to do besides build relationships and do side quests (in my opinion) I have an iPhone 12 and when I try to swipe the toolbar at the bottom it will sometimes get out of the game :/ Lil sketchy at first But don’t let any of this sway you. ✓ Not a ripoffLook, to call this game a stardew valley ripoff would be to call stardew valley a harvest moon rip-off. This game is like many other farming rpg sims in that yes, it has farming. It also has other key characteristics that people love in these sorts of games: romance and fighting (Granted Harvest moon doesn’t nessecarily have the fighting mechanic). Just because this game has those aspects does not make it a ripoff of stardew valley or harvest moon. It has its own original story, characters, and mechanics. It’s a fantastic game. It’s got honestly a lot of mechanics I wish stardew valley had (ie. Auto running to a location when tapping on the map, tapping a quest for it to take you there, etc.). If your in search of a game that reminds you of all the other farming simulators you love then look no further. ✓ Good overall with a few annoyancesOverall, the gameplay is good and entertaining. It’s clearly a stardew valley knock off or a game that’s taken great inspiration from it. It’s entertaining besides a few glitches. Sometimes the game freezes and you are unable to interact with anything— this is frustrating as it’s an unsolvable issue to the player so you’re forced to restart the game. It’s especially frustrating as you lose some progress because the game mostly relies on manual save. ✓ Please Open the Locked AreasGreat game overall, if you love Stardew Valley you’ll be hooked on this game too. There are lots of things I actually like better about this game as opposed to Stardew Valley, for instance if you select an area on the map your character automatically heads there. Super convenient. But I have a huge complaint, several large sections of the map are locked and cannot be accessed. The developer has apparently not finished the story that would segue into those areas. After years of playing, it’s super disappointing that there is still no way to open those areas. I would still play the game continuously if there were a way to access those places..Version: 2.4.6

✓ Great Farming Game!The game is a nice, free alternative to Stardew Valley. It’s relatively easy to use, however, there are some parts of the game that are quite hard to figure out without the need to look up help on Google or Reddit. It can be a little difficult to move forward unless you dump hours into the game, which isn’t entirely bad when you have a lot of free time. However, it’s a little annoying if you can’t spend a large amount of time on the game. It makes up for this small annoyance by being incredibly peaceful (if you avoid the mines lol). Some creatures are way too hard to beat, especially for the floors they’re on. The ads can be quite annoying, but overall, this game is really fun and relaxing. My biggest issue is the fact that the dating options are often unavailable. I’ve seen people complaining about this for years, and it’s still not fixed or updated. I wish it was, as I’d really like to settle down with my fishy friend, Fischer. I’ve also heard that apparently you cannot date characters of the same gender. I sure hope this is no longer a thing, as it would be incredibly gross if the developers specifically denied the option of being queer in the game..Version: 2.7.7(289)
✓ PhenomenalThis game is absolutely phenomenal, I downloaded Harvest Town about a week & a half ago & I just cannot put it down. Smooth running, so much to do, good story, challenging dungeons, levels aren’t so simply gained, & not even close to play to win. Diamonds are not to challenging to collect & a few quests that I have recently stumbled into are a good chase. I recommend this game to almost everybody, you can even play this game offline which is more that awesome. If you want a calming, good, grinding game with some good backstory, cut scenes, & plot-twists. This is the game I would recommend to you first..Version: 2.3.5

✓ Stardew Valley x1000This is seriously the best mobile game I’ve played since the first iPhone came out. There is SOOO much to do. Wayyyyyy better than harvest moon and stardew valley. I’ve been playing harvest moon since the 90s. There is premium currency BUT you don’t need to buy a thing!! You can play endlessly, no “energy” or anything! I do spend money on the monthly passes just to support the developer. However, you don’t need to buy the passes. You can claim the daily stuff by watching an ad, the pass just lets you do it without the ads. Honestly this is how mobile games should be made. It’s perfect. And a breath of fresh air to get a game that you can actually play and not spend money to recharge energy just to play..Version: 2.5.5
✓ I love this game however,...I love this game I’ve been addicted to it more than Stardew valley and a great way to pass the time while waiting for the new Story of Seasons to come out. I do love it’s not a SV ripoff it’s doing it’s own thing. The orders and machines that go by real-time is great but also annoying when you get addicted like me and can play for many in game days at a time. But I mean it’s a mobile game. I am seeing a lot of deals tho and thing for cheap on the banners so it gives me hope that this isn’t going to be “P2W” type of mobile game. However some things I don’t like and a few bugs. It take forever to get past the copper level in the mines. There is a huge gap between the silver and copper levels that’s a bit annoying. One bug is sometimes the animals never go back inside the coop even after ringing the bell and leaving it ringing. Another thing on the animals is since we can’t push them or go over them they sometimes lock me inside or outside the coop for a few hours and that’s a bit annoying when I’m trying to get on with the rest of the day. I’m also seeing we need a item to go on a date and while I’m not that far into it I did explore the shop and saw the items needed to date and get married on there a bit pricey. I hope I don’t have to buy these items on the cash shop and can grind out the items in the game..Version: 2.0.9

✓ Lovely game just one thing!It’s super great and the graphics quality is amazing, many people say it’s like stardew valley, just a little bit, I was hoping that the game would make more characters available to marry as in, Bill Hanks, Andy Reed, the carpenters daughter, etc. You only have a choice to marry Foxy, Fay, and the doctor which I sadly found out later after spending so much time with one characters relationship, if there was a winder choice on marrying characters I think this game would also do a lot better, otherwise the save button was a great addition unlike stardew valley so u can save and not have to restart again! ✓ UnderratedI think this is a great game I spent a lot of hours playing it, spent time collecting coins and diamonds to get certain items, story progression, making friends with the townies, decorating and building out my farm. It’s a really great game it’s relaxing and fun. However I warn you to bind your game. Their was a recent bug that caused me to not be able to log in, I was told to reinstall the game and upon doing so lost all of my progress and work. I’m really disappointed with this and I don’t think I’ll be able to play for a long time. So while I think this is an amazing app make sure to bind your account and save your progress frequently so you don’t lose it..Version: 2.1.7
✓ Overall a great game, but...The game’s really good! Especially the game graphics and design. I can see that the developers put their heart into the game and was passionate about making it a free and enjoyable game. But I think they need to work on some areas such as fixing the English translations a bit more because they don’t make sense at times due to wrong grammar and composition. They also need to add music, this might be subjective but I would love if they had music when you enter different areas of the game. One of the best ways to immerse players in the game is music. I know that they have music in the mines and the bar, but it would be great if they added it to all areas for consistency (like when the seasons change). There are also some design copies from Stardew Valley such as using the carp design from Stardew as the salmon in this game. I know this might seem trivial and a minor issue but I think the little things do matter and it would be great if there was some originality in the design, because it’s extremely noticeable that it was just copied. Although, the design of the game overall, is extremely well done. I love the pixel art of the NPCs and the trees and etc. I also love how there’s a lot to explore in the game and a lot to do too! I gave this game 5 stars because I do think that the game has so much to offer despite it being in beta. It’s just overall, really well done! I don’t think it really deserves a 4 because the flaws are minimal. But I gave my opinions on the flaws for constructive criticism for the betterment of the game. Overall, this is a great game! ✓ Literally so goodThis is such a fun game. As someone who’s been playing for about a year now, I’ve been trying to find some like these without success. I don’t have any major complaints, just that it’s pretty niche so tutorials whenever you wanna get a specific item are very vague. There is a lot to do and each day brings new adventures and challenges. The best part is that you play at your own pace. If you want to spend the day planting and harvesting crops... go ahead. Maybe you want to spend the whole day fishing... okay then. Maybe you enjoy hunting and gathering most of the time...that’s good too. No matter your playing style, this game has something, or everything, you could want. Yes, some of the dialog between NPCs is a bit off, but they get the message across. This game is updated with timed events regularly. Each week brings new challenges and rewards for everyday activities. If you don’t care about getting some rewards and decorations, that’s just fine. Do what you like to do. You don’t have to watch adds all the time. You don’t have to spend real money. Worth trying out for sure. * There is a lot of content right from the start, and it almost felt overwhelming for the first few days. ✓ Story of Seasons and Harvest Moon should be ashamedThe fact that the game dynamics and engaging story/missions is more thought out then anything the above franchises have released in the last 5 years. Would even say that this game blows star dew valley out of the water in my opinion. The auto walk to destination feature is something every SOS and Hm game should implement. The town size and characters is way more immersive then anything played previously. ✓ Love it!I downloaded this game expecting another boring idle sim but this was so much better than I was expecting. I’m a big fan of Stardew Valley and this has a lot of similar aspects but also brings a lot of its own interesting concepts and content. You can pay for things if you want but I’ve found it’s super easy to progress through gameplay alone. The only major issue to me is the dialogue. I think this game is Chinese so it is translated into English and sometimes quest stories or NPC dialogue is really hard to understand fully and personally causes a disconnect between myself and the story. ✓ A really cute game but it’s a bit unfinishedThe game is one of my favorite things now and at this point I’m playing it more than Genshin impact which is another one of my obsessions. As someone who finds it hard to get attached to games, I am very attached to this one. I really like the story and the game play but the only thing is that it feels unfinished in some details like the whole dating an npc since we only have 3 date places and only 3 marriageable characters and not to mention fisher who you can’t event go to dates with. Another thing is that I find the whole occult cave system too hard to advance specifically for new players which is bad because without the material drop of some monsters is necessary for making boxes for inventory and inventory is very necessary to play without too much struggle. I feel like another necessary thing to improve might be the stores of clothing and hairstyles since there isn’t a variety of clothes and hairstyles but not only that they cost a lot of diamonds so it would be good if some clothes and hairstyles costed coins too. I really hope game devs update the game soon with more fun things for us players to enjoy and not give us the whole excuse of if it requires too much space it won’t work well bc stardew valley, cookie run kingdom, Genshin and many other games work super well and are addicting with or without taking too much space..Version: 2.6.5

Sleeping You should be able to sleep whenever you want but you can only sleep after 20:00 but before it’s the time there’s nothing to do because everyone is asleep at 18:00! 2. Turns out that my spawn point was set on the level 30 area so I can’t do anything I’m pretty much trapped. I hope we could get that fixed because I do love the game. ✓ Great gameI have been looking for a game like Harvest Moon for a long time now, and I finally found a great one! This game is awesome and the quests are so fun to complete. My only issues, among many others, are the choices for marriage. Before I knew that you could only marry certain NPCs, I grew a relationship with an NPC that cannot get married. I spent a lot of time doing that, so I’d like to see us be able to marry any bachelor/bachelorette NPC. We can date them, why not marry them? Please make Lulu available to be married! I beg the devs to consider this update and it will add more to the gaming experience. Overall, a great game though! Update: I am really enjoying this game, but I wish the Devs would expand it. Such as the parts of the map we cannot access. I would love to see this game updated to its potential. Please keep building this game! I feel as though people compare all cute farming RPG’s to Stardew Valley, I’ve been seeing a lot of bad reviews on how Harvest Town is a Stardew Valley ripoff but in reality Stardew Valley is a ripoff of Harvest Moon & a poor one at that. Having played all of these games fully - If anything Harvest Town is better then Stardew valley, it has much more resemblance to the Harvest Moon games which gives me so much nostalgia. The backdrops in Harvest Town are so intricate & I love the character designs so much. The map is huge and there is so much to do. I highly recommend trying it out. Comparing Harvest Town to Stardew Valley not knowing what Harvest Moon is should be sought at as ignorant. Any-who, 5/5 the team who worked on this did amazing, of course there are bugs and maintenance issues but that shouldn’t deface the games worth. ✓ Amazing game, needs bug fixingThis is a really great game that I have loved so much since I have started playing. The design, environment, and feel of the game is quite close to what I’ve seen of Stardew Valley, yet it is unique in its own way. The only problem I have is the amount of bugs. Most of them are minor, but some can be quite annoying. I wish a team could really get through with these bugs and fix them to make the game really good. ✓ PLEASE ALLOW THISI’m currently binge playing this, and although it may give off Stardew Valley vibes initially, they are actually very different in many aspects. I’d even argue that I prefer some of the mechanics that are different in Harvest Moon, even though I am an ENORMOUS Stardew Valley fan with almost a thousand hours of gameplay. However, in order for me to really feel this deserves five stars in my opinion, I really need to see them implement an open minded social interaction system. I’m not sure how marriage works in the original Chinese version of this game, but I really hope that we will be given the freedom to marry our character to any of the bachelorettes/bachelors in town (including same-sex), rather than just a single character? I know that homosexuality is still not as accepted in many Asian countries, but as a fujoshi, this feature will really make my day. :) I really enjoy the interactions and stories of the townspeople, and especially the romantic scenes, so although this might not matter as much to some, it’s really important for me. The point of view, while not that annoying can still be disorienting. The chests, it’s annoying how we have to spend an unnecessary amount of time just trying to find that chest we need to store our stuff in. And Steve lopez.... was he dropped as a child? You shouldn’t have to spam and re-enter over and over again just to build or upgrade an building. Interacting with him is like eating soggy fries. ✓ Underrated as heck!!!This game is amazing. You have the option to buy items but really that ruins the fun. The grind isn’t boring and there’s a lot to do. This is NOT an idle game, there are time objective tasks like canning jam or making feed for your animals, but other than that a lot of it is much like Stardew Valley really (but a lot easier) The dialogue is a little rough because the creators are Chinese I think? But either way it isn’t unbearable and you get what it’s trying to say. This game is worth the download and SUPER fun. ✓ I absolutely love this game!!This game is so fun! I played this first and really liked it so I wanted to try out Stardew Valley because it got such good reviews. I really wanted to like SV because I wanted to play it on my switch with buttons. But honesty to me SV is REALLY slow process and I really didn’t like it (it’s just not for me). To me Harvest Town is so much better! I love how you can just tap on the map where to go and your person will just go there. And also I love how you can craft things without having the materials on you (your stuff can just be in your chest and you can craft it anywhere!) Love all the free things you get by watching ads! ✓ Notifications and ordersHad a few notifications about server issues or something and it keeps showing it’s new every time I log into the game. Also just today started getting connection issues. Otherwise great game! Just got updated order thing on the phone icon in game, and there’s no new orders as I’ve completed them thus far but the new notification thing won’t go away. I even closed and reopened the app. Still great game! New issue.. the phone for orders and hired helpers and stuff is ‘buzzing’ in the top right, but nothing is completed in the orders category. The pixel graphics and general feel are very obviously a copy of stardew valley but honestly this feels cuter imo and more modernised. ✓ The best time passer by far!As someone who's invested more than enough hours into Stardew Valley on console as well as on mobile, I came across Harvest Town and have since been totally invested in using Harvest Town to pass time when I can while using my mobile device. They both are similar yet different in their very own unique ways. I continue to play this game although itch for new areas to unlock which I know will eventually unlock as time goes on. As stated in previous reviews I would love if game music was added as it gets annoying constantly listening to the sounds while mining, cutting down trees, fishing, etc. A touch of background music would definitely excite the gameplay. I've also been fighting trying to obtain antiquity's to donate although it's really not a major concern for me but would like if they generated more frequently rather than garbage pick-ups. Lastly, I've noticed a few grammatical errors throughout the losing screens and within the game itself which isn't too big of a deal. ✓ Great game, needs one thing!Hello! This is truly a lively game. I love the villagers and the interactions. I greatly appreciate the love and work you have put in your game! With that said, there is something I feel empty about. Perhaps I am not far enough in the game…but I’m sad so far it hasn’t talking about my character’s family. I honestly would prefer it to stay that way. It would be nice if we could have like-families though. There’s families in the game, for example John Gray and his granddaughter, Peach, it would be nice if you could get to a certain heart and they’d become like-family. Walk you down the wedding ail, invite you to family events, invite you for dinner, drop by your house, etc. Which reminds me, it would be nice if the other characters, npcs, were to try to become your friend without you even trying. It would be totally random. Sometimes characters would get a crush on you and try harder to see you, etc. Or other characters could just want to be your friend and drop by asking if you want to come to their place for dinner or something close to it. ✓ Great game but wish there were more featuresThis game is very nice in features, looks, customization, lifestyle, etc but it still seems to lack certain things. For one, as of now we only have three to four marriage options which is kinda bleak considering that some of us might want to marry many single candidates, for instance, Andy Reed. (he’s my fav that I look forward to marrying) Two, I wish there were more diversity in terms of hair, clothing, and cosmetics. ✓ Lots of fun if you like farming RPG.I adore this game, and farming RPG in general, harvest moon, stardew, I’m happy with them all. Here are the reasons I’m rating 4 stars (I would do 3.5 but that’s not an option) and not 5: I will say, however, that it’s interesting what has been made real time wait vs game time wait. For example- fishing traps are 24hr game time wait. Producing items, however, is real time wait. (Somewhere between 2 and 30 minutes depending on the item being crafted.) I think the reason for this is the possibility of money being generated from speeding these productions up. You can build decorations that decrease the wait time, just interesting in my opinion how they melded the mobile purchasing aspect of the game with previously existing models from similar games. Also, last note: prices areeee… a little out of whack, if you ask me. Potato powder (flour, as I’m sure it’s a small translation error). Let me repeat: POTATO POWDER — sells for more game coins than a GOLD INGOT. Not sure how to feel about that. 🤔 *quietly buys all the potatoes in the world to become an overnight millionaire* Aside from that it’s a super cute game and I’m really enjoying it. ✓ Great Free Harvest Moon-like gameI grew up playing the harvest moon franchise since the original game boy color. This is a perfect example of a free app game that captures that same feeling Harvest Moon gave me. There’s a TON of content, a ton of decorations, many characters to interact with, and tons of places to explore. There’s so much to do in the free base game that I don’t feel obligated to purchase items so I can enjoy the game. The fact that in-game purchases aren’t shoved down my throat makes me more inclined to buy items and decorations here and there. I appreciate all the content the developers put into this free game. I have only two small negative comments (which very well might be user error). 1st, I have an item I placed down in the wrong spot on my farm. Going to the edit decorations screen doesn’t allow me to move the item, nor do the shovel or pickaxe break it down. 2nd, the HUD is very cluttered. I feel like half my screen is covered by icons. I feel a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of icons. Is there a way to collapse these? I had some birds and then I went to go deliver a fossil to the school and as I did that I got stuck in a cutscene. When the cutscene was over instead of going back to where I was before it acted as if I had gone to bed and the day ended. It was only around 12 o’clock and it started the next day, I didn’t choose to and now all of my birds are gone and I wasted a day. I’m really disappointed I loved my birds so much, I named them Zeke, Eren, and Domino. I really want to get my birds back but I understand that that might not be possible. I can always buy new birds but I’m really going to miss those 3.Version: 2.5.3

✓ Few bugsVery good game, I thoroughly enjoy Playing this game. It is very relaxing and has an inclusive community. However what’s stopping from rating 5 stars is the fact that there are a few bugs. Like bugs that prevent me from progressing in the main quest line. The issue I’m facing right Now is when I need to visit Steve to build the poultry house. However whenever I click on him, the interact button does not appear and hence I cannot build the house. Please fix this issue as I want to enjoy this game in all of its glory..Version: 2.1.3

✓ Great gameWhat a fantastic little gem of a game. Obviously if you like Stardew valley, this game is very much similar but also does just enough to differentiate itself. I would even go as far as to say it actually improves upon a lot of the issues I have with Stardew valley. The only thing I would say is quite frustrating is the sleep time, it would be nice if it was shortened to 18:00 or even 16:00. That and monster drops are way to rare considering how often their items are required.Version: 2.0.7
