Doctor Who: Hidden Mysteries for Positive User Reviews

Most fun hidden object gameBy far, this is the best hidden object game available. And I’m in no way influenced by my love for the Doctor! The puzzles do get increasingly more difficult, but one can earn very practical helps, not be nagged to buy them. The story is also great. Just an overall awesome game!.Version: 1.0.0

Hidden object gameIf you like hidden object games, you’ve come to the right place! The story line is good. To move the story along, you need to acquire points via hidden object winnings. As the story/game progresses you need a greater number of points. To win a point one must find all the required objects in a scene. However, each scene has a time limit. This can get tiresome. It helps if you have some ‘time’ tokens. The triple find tokens are the best! Adding more scenes would be nice. The special challenges are a fun diversion from the main game. Good job!.Version: 1.1.0

Special EventsI’m enjoying the game but lately there have been special events that are very long and by the time I see them I only have an hour or so left. Please make these at least 48 hours so that people who work or live in different time zones can have time to enjoy them. Thanks!.Version: 1.1.0

Fun relaxing gameOverall, the game is a fun hidden objects game, and the developers have added some variety to the style of each level and add new “environments” to keep it more interesting and alleviate repetitiveness. The power ups are also plentiful, and fun. There are a couple of issues. The cut scenes are a bit tedious. You can skip them mostly altogether, but then you don’t get any of the story. I also noted that, although I’ve been playing for a couple of days, I didn’t get my first “daily bonus” until I closed the app entirely and started it over. That seems to be a bug. Lastly, I only restarted the app because level 423 refuses to load. I get the “loading screen” and then nothing. I’ve restarted the app several times to no avail. So … I guess I’m doing playing for now..Version: 1.0.0

Dr whoI found the game to be a good one, however I collected all the collectibles and got near the end and now it will not let me finish the story as it has put me on endless gaming and won’t let me collect any more dust to finish the story, this is very annoying as I wanted to know how the story ended 🙁 Advice to anyone playing do not combine collectibles until you have finished the story !!.Version: 1.0.0

Compelling hidden objects / mini games adventureGameplay is engaging. It provides a variety of new scenes and new items earned after meeting goals, which creates a nice pace to give the player a sense of forward movement. Graphics are bright and varied so it’s visually pleasing - don’t get bored seeing the same old scenes. Hidden objects games are great. The objects ’blend into the scene’ without being super difficult to find like many other hide & seek games that I’ve tried. It’s awesome not to have eye strain! Even better: the further the player progresses the more variety of hidden objects / mini games. . . and then there’s the event! Storytelling is interesting but not long winded, which is refreshing. Overall it’s a great game. . . well done!.Version: 1.0.0

Fun story. Mini-events are the highlight.I'm glad that a hidden object game has finally made its way to Apple Arcade, and hope this is only the first of more to come. The graphics and music are great, as typical for the genre, and while I'm not familiar with Dr. Who as a franchise, the main quest is entertaining enough. The main appeal of hidden object games for me is that searching for objects in a cluttered scene is a strangely relaxing experience. It's Where's Waldo for grown-ups, and a nice way to unwind. That said, I've got two nitpicks: First, the game has a timer mechanic that feels at odds with the relaxing experience I expect, although you can use some "cheats" you collect along the way to mitigate it. Second, the hidden object scenes aren't tied to the environments or story in any way, and although they do try to mix them up with new modes (like mirroring the scene, finding duplicate objects, and more) these must be replayed a LOT. Like dozens of times per scene. This become quite repetitive to the point where I found myself simply learning where the objects are. As for highlights, I was surprised on a couple of occasions to be greeted with a mini-story in the form of limited-time events. The story and graphics on these are, frankly, better than the main quest although they re-use the same hidden object scenes..Version: 1.1.0

Fun but ...I've enjoyed it but a couple things: 1. Some of the hidden objects do not display properly and are too close to the edge. For example, if the player is looking for the object CHAIN then you might get a single link to the far left or right, making it impossible to find without a clue. 2. Completed all collections and maps, but diary entries from earlier episodes have not completed. Doesn't seem to be a way to go back to a specific map to complete diary entries. 3. I'm now stuck in "endless mode" and unable to collect anymore paradox dust, although I think I have maybe 2 tasks left to complete the final episode. What's up with that? I completed every single hidden object game or puzzle offered. If you're trying to prevent players from "hoarding" paradox dust and getting through your next release of episodes too quickly then endless mode should only kick in once final task is completed..Version: 1.0.0

Enjoyable, but…By the time you get to New, New, New…York, in the third segment of Episode 17, after you turn on the Reality Modulator, the game gets stuck. There is no way to progress past that point. A restart puts you back before you activate the Reality Modulator. The Doctor, Yaz, and the two Judoon just stand there, and you never get the interface. Also, the scene with the statue of the two Sisters of Plentitude (cat nurses), the chessboard is referred to as “outlet” in the word list, which puzzled me as I searched in vain for a power outlet in the scene until I used a power-up and realized it was misnamed..Version: 1.1.0

Nice story, good time wasterI finished this game today at episode 1024 round 19 after downloading the update. It took a while to complete a bit at a time, as it is repetitive, looking for the hidden objects over and over again. It was worth it though to get to the end of the story..Version: 1.1.0

Not terrible for an entry-level hidden-object game but…Not terrible for an entry-level hidden-object game but… When there are so many “freemium” hidden object games (HOG), it’s good to have one on the arcade but I wish this one was more sophisticated. For comparison, some of G5’s one-time paid HOG games beat the pants off of this one with elaborate art work, an interesting story line, and even some good puzzles to boot. I get that Dr. Who fans might go for this one simply because of its association with the franchise but imo, this game is really for entry-level HOG players so be warned..Version: 1.0.0

Game is frozenI’ve been playing the game without any issues but now that I think I’m close to the end it’s froze. I’m playing on an iPad. I’m at the scene in the hospital where the guards are chasing the Pringle into the hallway and there’s a big hole in the floor. There’s no option to keep playing scenes. I can’t click on anything. Help would be appreciated..Version: 1.1.0

Engaging and funI’m really enjoying the game so far. I’m a fan of the 13th Doctor, so having her and Yaz as the main characters is great! I like the different skill levels, the hidden object games, and the storyline keeps me interested..Version: 1.2.0

Endless ModeI’m really enjoying this game, however, somehow I got switched to endless mode and I have no idea how to turn it off. I still need more paradox dust to finish the story. I’ve reached out to support twice, but have yet to receive instructions on how to turn this feature off. Other than that, I like the game and the competitions they add periodically. Lovely game!.Version: 1.0.0

WonderfulI love this.Version: 1.0.0

It stalls outI play this and then it just stalls. I finish a round and then it stalls out. It won’t go further. It has done this before. I waited a few days, went back and it cleared up. But this is getting tiresome..Version: 1.2.0

I love this game!Apart from a glitch that prevented me from finishing the game, it has now been fixed and I complete it! It was a lot of fun and the story was very entertaining..Version: 1.1.0

Good HOP gameThe kind with ongoing plot. A little repetitive but tracking is limited and it’s not a huge memory hog like other popular games. One thing— the creepy lizard-like guy with the beer belly, mouth hanging open, and he is slouching on a chair with one foot over his knee, so the bottom of his large, bare foot is facing towards the user. Could he at least wear socks, and perhaps a shirt that fits over his stomach? Thanks for an otherwise great game..Version: 1.0.0

Great… butNew modes are unlocked, yet don’t pop up much. Need to be more of the new modes. Otherwise to much of the old gets boring..Version: 1.0.0

Bug in gameThe game is great but I have now got to a position where the game won’t continue. I fix the reality modulator and move into the hall to wait for the pting. There is an unexpected hole in the floor and the characters just stand around and there is nothing to collect dust for. Hopefully a fix is incoming as I am near the end.Version: 1.1.0

Written by people who really know Dr. WhoReferences to old adventures and old enemies pop up frequently during play, and the dialogue feels silly to me in the same way the shows do. The hidden object scenes start out pretty easy, with relatively few items, but search difficulty grows over time. You unlock new scenes as you play - this game has the most I've ever seen. And levels? Hundreds and hundreds. Unfortunately, they didn't expect to have players who fail as much as I did. Because of that, I ended up running out of levels before I could finish the story, meaning I was stuck unless I was willing to start over. This game-breaking bug is the only reason my rating is less than five stars..Version: 1.0.0

Doctor Who an unlikely heistIt is great once my dad told me about it I downloaded it straight away and played it.Version: 1.0.0

Doctor WhoThis game amazing fun to play..Version: 1.0.0

I see Dr Who game. I give it a try.I normally don’t play “find the item” type games. But my love for Dr Who had me download this right away. Seems very quick and easy and little thought put behind this. But I can see the appeal for these types of games for the young ones and simple time wasters if you need it. I can’t get the audio to work? Phone volume all the way up and turned on in the settings. I dock 1 star for that little thing. Could be user error somehow I guess. Works great other than that..Version: 1.0.0

*Updated review: great game, all aroundUpdate: It’s all working hunky dory now, though I seem to have finished the game and now the Doctor cones on screen telling me to wait while she cooks up a new adventure… This has been a fun game to play! I love the Dr. Who theme 🥹 As of May 9th, the game was the conplete and the following was my review: Wow, I really enjoyed this and have been hoping to get to the end of the episodes and then I got relegated to endless mode and I literally get no paradox dust now to finish what seems to be the LAST episode. I have completed all of the collections, unraveled most of all the mysteries (except why/how Kara has the Master’s TARDIS 🧐) and am trying to get Kara to Regnidorch II but it’s just stuck in Endless mode. I literally can’t believe I am not able to finish the game. Gah! I am listing cons first 😭 Cons: Can’t even finish the dang game -totally stuck after 1000+ levels 😖 Really repetitive picture searches & PROS: Doctor Who through time = awesome The story line has been somewhat compelling Graphics are pretty good.Version: 1.1.0

Good gameThere's a soccer ball to be found but the item is actually a volleyball ball.Version: 1.1.0

Finished! Excellent game!Great game and I enjoyed the hidden objects, plus the other puzzles. Please continue with more stories. Gorgeous graphics…well done!.Version: 1.1.0

Great game but locked up after fixing Reality ModulatorI really enjoy this game! Relaxing and fun storyline. I do want to report a bug, however. After I fix the Reality Modulator and discover Kara chasing the Pting, the game locks up. I shut down the game and come back in and have to fix the Reality Modulator again, at which point the game locks again. Hoping you can fix this in an update so I can continue the game!.Version: 1.1.0

Solid easy going gameI have been playing this game almost daily for weeks. I am a retiree, and it really works for me. I noted that the last update allowed for setting difficulty levels. While I have not had problems with proceeding with this particular game, I frequently am enjoying an Arcade game and then hit my level of incompetence. I know what to do, but I am not coordinated enough to do it. I really appreciate that this game offers to be “easy” to allow more people to enjoy and play it without that stress. Thanks..Version: 1.2.0

I can’t play special eventsWhile waiting for the game to continue, there are many special events to play. On the last two special events I can get a few levels in when the game refuses to let me play any further. When I click on the play button, the screen is grayed out though the countdown clock keeps on ticking. I have reported this to customer service but have not received any response at all. The newest special episode was able to be played from beginning to end. Hopefully this will continue. You are now able to pick your own expertise level, which is nice..Version: 1.2.0

Can’t finish game due to bugs - FIXEDIf you are stuck near the end of the game, go into the App Store and find this game. There should be an Update button to use; this should make the game solvable. The update will also change the name of the game from An Unlikely Heist to Hidden Mysteries. The game was a bit repetitive with the earning of Paradox Dust, but I enjoyed the Easter eggs (especially the billboard!), and my CDO was satisfied by ending the game..Version: 1.1.0

Stuck on Episode 17Update: it appears to have been fix after I delete the game. I downloaded it again after getting a message from app support! Therefore I will update this game to 4 stars and see how it goes! Game freezes on this episode! Try it several times and nothing works! I cannot even notify the app developers because they use an email service I do not have! This is really frustrating to get that far in the game and cannot continue! Hopefully they look at the reviews and see this!.Version: 1.2.0

Really good 👍I’m a bit of a picky game player but I love this game! It is very interesting, fun and makes me want to play it all day! If you are deciding whether to download Dr.Who or not you should do it!There is no reason to give this app less than five stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️. - Nina age 8 almost 9.Version: 1.1.0

Fix pleasePlease fix it , can’t finish the game and in endless loop.Version: 1.0.0

Up to a point…This is a relatively good game. Until you get into infinity mode and can’t collect any lives or bonuses. It’s a bit frustrating!.Version: 1.0.0

Broken TriviaPlaying the trivia mini game results in game freezing during load. Please fix..Version: 2.0.0
