✓ Where's the fun?I played this game for about a month. The only somewhat fun aspect of it was unlocking new units for me. Nothing else was fun. I just log in twice a day to press 50 buttons to auto-complete all kinds of stages and that's it! ✓ Nah DudePlayed many games of Heroes MM3. Many. This is nothing like what it claims to be. Sure, they have all the same characters and locations, but the gameplay is completely different and not in a good way. I’m all for making changes if it makes it better. These changes, however, make this the same as every other RPG on the App Store. Sure, they took the source material and tried some new things, but it’s nothing new compared to other App Store RPGs. ✓ ShameDespite numerous issues I’ve still enjoyed EoC. Nerfs or balancing happen in every game and people always get angry. But the blatant lack of testing and customer service finally blew up. I don’t really see a reason this couldn’t have been set there? might and magic has such a good place to set there games, I love asha! The primordial egg, the dragon gods, and the detailed geopolitical conflicts of its kingdoms. Please tell me more tales of the heroes of ashan. Edit: After playing more of the game it’s actually good! ✓ Obvious progression blockersHave been playing this game for a while now, and whilst initially enjoying it, I have run into several progression blockers that clearly cater to get you to pay to win. Namely needing to conquer underground castles as a mission in order to awaken some units, which is impossible as all castles are immediately taken over by whales who have 3 times as much power rating as everyone else and can’t be beaten by average players, making it impossible to awaken said unit. ✓ Pretty GoodIf you can be patient enough to get through the tutorial fairy interfering in your game play every turn during the first 10 levels, and then at various stages through as you level up... The game is pretty good. The latest update though has made collection of various rewards almost impossible, eg the premium cards rewards are uncollectible. Hopefully bug fixes soon?.Version: 1.0.7
✓ Love the game, not the grind.I really do enjoy the game and the “grind” isn’t even that bad, except for getting SSR units. Unless you are either 1. A seasoned veteran and have literally just played enough to get one through pick up draws or 2 get extremely lucky and pull a second one legitimately, you aren’t getting more than one SSR unit (you can also purchase vip 11 to get one at an INSANE price) and it’s kind of dis heartening to know that ever time I draw I barely have any chance to get an ssr unit. ✓ Not my Heroes Might and MagicIf you grew up playing the original Heroes Might and Magic this is not the same game. It has a different play style than the original. It uses the same creatures, resources, equips but it plays so differently. Tutorial is also a joke since you still have to figure out what to do. Yes its one of those games with a “stamina” bar which you wait till it fills up again! Aargh! At least in the original I just press a button the “stamina/move” bar gets filled up again! ✓ Don’t pay for this oneI played this game for several months and enjoyed it until I lost out on some paid for rewards because of a glitchy UI. I spent a couple hundred dollars and when it came down to answering for the lost rewards, UbiSoft’s answer was to issue some measly diamond rewards which paled in comparison to the actual in-game value of the rewards that went missing. Edit: I continued to play until yet another instance occurred, in which case there was no compensation at all and my time and money had again been wasted. Even when supplied with multiple pieces of evidence that there were a bug in the software they deflected the blame to me as a user instead of owning up and admitting their game had a bug..Version: 1.0.169

Boring, easy, complete lack of strategic thought required, shallow, and just meant to make money off kids who want the most powerful heroes. Where's the turn based battles, the free exploration, the challenging and unforgiving army creation and maintenance? Gone, all of it. I’ve played might & magic games for many years. Battle chess feels like a continuation of that game series. There’s an art style that I recognise and it continues in that game. This game does not have that. This game is aesthetically just completely different, and feels like it was made by a completely different company, because it probably was. It doesn’t play, feel or look like might and magic. I was turned off very quickly. It feels like a cheap knock off might and magic, almost certainly made somewhere in Asia, on the cheap, designed to populate some executively determined “gap in the market”. ✓ Horribly DisappointingThis game has no semblance whatsoever to the HOMM franchise. The graphics look stupid. It’s cartoony in a bad way and the game play is not remotely like Heroes. Basically, the company took the characters and made up an entirely different game than that which it is based upon. Also, as a warning for parents, the female characters are definitely over-sexualized. If the game didn’t look stupid and if it actually had good gameplay then I would have been fine giving it an excellent review, but this was a highly disappointing download. ✓ Launch CarnivalSo, I have been playing this game since last week, and don’t get me wrong, I love the game. However, there is just this one issue with the launch carnival event that i can’t get over with which is the ssr soul reward. When i first try to claim the reward, it said that claim when complete all quests or log in on day 7. So I was happy to hear that I don’t have to do all the missions to get my ssr since I can’t. However, when I claimed the reward, I only get 63 souls, which was my progress at the moment. I was shocked and extremely frustrated. I didn’t know about this since the game didn’t even bother explain it anywhere. To make things worse, I couldn’t do anything at all with these 63 souls since I can’t find a single place that gives you this soul except for putting money in the game. I was able to complete more than 80 missions at the end of the 7th day so I can I get the rest of the ssr souls reward that I was supposed to have..Version: 1.0.11

✓ I was excited until...I was a huge Heroes of M&M fan back in the day. Always wished they’d port it over to mobile. I was ecstatic to see it in the App Store and started downloading immediately. While I waited I started checking the reviews. The gist of what I gathered is that it’s not very similar to the old games I know and loved and that like most games they hooked people with a decent start and then updated into a P2W platform. I don’t mind putting a little money into a game if I think it’s really good. I get it that the development company has to make money. The reviews suggest that it’s a little out of hand though. So I haven’t even played the game. I’ll delete it without opening it because I have a lot of fond memories of the franchise and don’t want those tarnished. ✓ A catfish gameThe biggest disappointment to this game is it’s not even close to the original works and has a shameless quotation stating about how beloved it was but delivers on nothing even close. It should just rebrand its title to avoid any supporters of the original IP. The combat system isn’t even close to the tactical ingenuity of HMM series and delivers a lane way style system that just auto fights with a small amount of point and click spells. I don’t know why they just did not use a similar style that other HMM titles employed This game I would be lead to believe by development is technically free to play but would be a grind getting anywhere in the long term. The money you would spend to possibly advance at a decent rate would cost you well over a A+ title on any other console or computer. ✓ Fraudulent billing, then banI played the game for about 4 months and made some purchases. Fun game and I didn’t mind not being a top player as that requires $$$. Then I noticed a couple of small charges (about $2) being billed to my credit card for purchases I never made. It was either fraud or an error by Ubisoft (the maker for Era of Chaos). I had the charges reversed and Ubisoft banned me from the game. I complained and submitted screenshots of everything and Ubisoft stopped responding after awhile (even though I had put real money into the game), said it removed my temporary ban (which it didn’t), and won’t admit fraud or error. DON’T GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR CREDIT CARD (unless you don’t mind being subsequently billed for in-game purchases you didn’t make). Total fraud and customer neglect!.Version: 1.0.10

✓ Great game, totally pay to winEdit: the pay to win aspect is way out of hand. I am ranked top 50 on my server with around $50 spent. The top pay to win players are almost twice my power. I have 2.2 million power and they are at 3.8 million. The only way I move up is when people get bored and quit the game (or switch servers to become the top again). I am happy with my purchase, but that is all they will be getting from me. I would rather buy a PC or console game for the same price since I can't go any where in the game. With the latest update, they seriously pushed the pay to win aspect over the top. Black knights were already one of the best units and are only obtained by paying a few hundred dollars. Lord Haart makes them even stronger, also only obtained by paying for him. Now they made the knights one of the four awakened troops. Now pay to win players are impossible to beat. If you just ignore the fact that you cannot come close to a pay to win player, the game is pretty great. ✓ Pay to win game.I’ll be honest I’m the top 2 players in my guild… which is in the top 4 guilds on my server. Even given I’ve put about $100 into the game the level of difficulty is astronomical. Even with 3-4 SSR units maxed out (for my level) and like wise with sr units, guys who spend I’m guessing thousands of dollars just absolutely annihilate you. I just did a match with a guy similar level… he beat me no joke… 5 seconds. It’s truly a shame because it is actually a super fun and addictive game with a good in game community. This only lets you advance a few areas at best and then shock of all shocks, you have to repeat the above process and guess what? There are hundreds of areas. ✓ Impossible to find out if the game is working .Since yesterday 5 am, I am unable to open the game. I play on iOS. It’s now 31 hrs later. I tried to check the status on internet, but after 1 hour of being directed from one place to another and having tried every option there was, I was NOT able to find anything on the status of the game server. Not a single message if the servers were up or down or a place where I could ask or post this question. Great service! ✓ Loading screens galoreI spend half the time waiting for the game to load. I dread pushing the wrong icon as sometimes it will take me awhile to do what I actually want. My internet is fiber and when connected to WiFi my phone is at 121mb/s download. It’s not my internet. I have the newer iPhone, so it’s not old technology. It must be the game having too many bugs. As for when I can play, the game has a lot of strategy embedded. It’s one of the more unique FTP games since you have more control of your attacks/units. ✓ Poor ai auto battle functionIn some places there is only the auto battle function where your completely out of the picture as far as spells cast. I have lost 6 matches in a row against opponents who had significantly less power than I did solely because my AI decided to use spells poorly. Ex. The ai buffed units that were clearly going to die within a second of having the dps buff, the AI uses all of my magic points on significantly less powerful spells rather than just waiting a moment to cast a more potent spell. This is frustrating because I should be winning these battles with ease rather than loosing horribly.Version: 1.0.8

Guys, i don’t know about the amount of greed you have in mind, but it would be heaps better to have a GAME first, then in addition a little SHOP... not the vice versa. I.e. ✓ Lots to do, very addictive, very expensiveHard to review this. If you have strong will power or deep pockets this game is pretty good. If you are patient with your levelling up you can get very far without spending money. Lots of strategy and content to get through. However I have to give it 1 star because of the massive amount of gambling psychology employed against you. Contant event where you win things by lotteries and are encouraged to blow $100s of dollars of gems to get the top prizes. If gambling tricks don't bother you, this game is really good with lots of content and strategy and variety. ✓ Sullies the legacy of HOMM3While this game tries to link itself to the classic and beloved Heroes of Might 3, outside of the factions and units there is very little that is similar. Combat is a simplified, real time affair where you place units in lanes to auto battle foes. Your hero can cast spells to help sway combat in your favour. The most egregious thing about this game is the typical F2P push to get you to spend on its premium currency. Only this is worse that other ‘gatcha’ type games. The game prompts you to spend at worrying frequency. Pop up for rewards like special units for ‘topping up’ or getting a daily discount to spend gems, or encouraging buying monthly cards to provide VIP levels for whales who spend literally hundreds on this game. ✓ Solmyr too powerfulHonestly I love this game. Play I everyday do the dailies and do everything. But the biggest issue I have found is that Duel of Champions has turned into everyone playing Solmyr who’s ultimate is too powerful. He can cast it 3 times by the time any other hero gets just 1 of their ults off. Also EVERYONE is now playing Solmyr in their Duel of Champions team. I can beat some of them with other heroes but the fact of the matter remains the pvp in this game has become who can use Solmyr the best and nothing else. I want to give the game 5 stars but the pvp in this game is severely unbalanced if you play any hero aside from Solmyr. Also it’s ridiculous that PVP is all about who has the most SSR units. It wouldn’t matter if a team was full of R units that were maxed out on everything if the other guy has at least 3 SSR units then the team of R units would lose right away. The pvp in this game is heavily dependant on how much money I’m willing to spend in order to get SSR units. Pvp is the worst in this game and you can’t play this game without playing PVP. You may think that by opting out, you are cancelling the training - and you would be correct. The thing is, you also lose the diamonds and potions with no benefit at all to your units. It’s like an option to just waste your money. If you are not keeping track of your diamonds, you may think you are just previewing which units would benefit more from the training to give it to them until you realize you have no more diamonds left and have not promoted a single unit. Then you will reach out to game support. They will be very timely and polite and will kindly ask you to please understand there is no way of reimbursing you. It’s cool to see how they pulled together a bunch of the classic might and magic tales and similar battle logic (although not turn based) into a new format. My main issue with the game is the server architecture. Even though a server is “Full” there’s no indication of activity. After some time you may be left on a dead server with only a handful of very advanced players and stuck in a mostly dead guild with no way to move to a new server or take along the investments made in the guild or your character. Will probably play for a bit longer but mostly ready to quit due to this. This comes into play especially when attempting to “awaken” units in missions that require server based p2p style combat. It’s a bit suspicious when I loose at the exact same part in the campaign no matter what I do. The campaign is supposed to be fun not impossible. Lastly there needs to be a way to get the red dragon stones for the barracks. I understand there’s ways to get them in one event but the event is very selective and if you aren’t selected you’ll never get the stones. ✓ Great game that went overly complexI played up to lvl 90 and, about 3 years ago, I quit. It became too much of a daily chore. Too many options, too many activities.
