Total War: MEDIEVAL II for Negative User Reviews

New update broke the gamePlayed perfectly up until this update. Now any time I try to drag across to line up my troops, the marker is right but then when I release, the marker jumps backwards and changes diagonally. If I can’t place troops this game is ultimately unplayable. Fix this plz as £13 for a mobile game that isn’t working as it should Is a bit of a rip off..Version: 1.3

Too many glitches and crashesI’ve been played this for a week and there are atop many glitches that impact game play, including when moving troops out of a town it sets the rally point instead of moving, the missions (stop fighting x) are too prominent when you have more than 2, in a battle in a forest if it’s cloudy you can’t see the enemy and so on. I’m also getting too many crashes. Love total war time on my phone and will be switching back..Version: 1.2.3

It’s not badImma be real with you. I have been waiting for this game for years to come out on iPad. Rome total war just hit different, you know, so when I saw this game was coming to iOS I was beyond excited. But I regretfully have to say i am a little disappointed. It’s not one thing, infact I couldn’t really point out anything that’s wrong. Overall the game just doesn’t feel that great, my mind might change after playing a few campaigns but at the moment it’s just not as well done as Rome total war. This doesn’t mean it’s bad. I just don’t think it’s worth $22, especially considering it’s on the iPad. If you a are a diehard total war fan or love the medieval period I would recommend that you buy this game but not the iOS version, instead go onto your computer load up steam and buy it there. I am aware this is a brand new game for the iPad so I’m still keeping an open mind. All I can say is do not buy this game unless you really want to play it.Version: 1.2.3

Cool game but there are a lot of problems that set it apart from Rome total war functionality wiseThe health of your own troops is dramatically low compared to that of the AI’s regardless of the difficulty and unit type The selection of units is janky and often does not work you can select units you didn’t push or accidentally unselect ones you didn’t mean to unselect Also the running option of troops is also a problem when you double tap it does not immediately make them run it merely starts them walking in the direction you want them too you either have to double click or push the run button to get them running or change the speed of the unit It is a fun game and I love it please fix these small issues as they impact the game a lot and also add the expansions of the pc version such as the americas and Britannia whether those could be separate games like barbarian invasion is to time total war is not an issue but it would fun to see.Version: 1.3

ClunkyAs another reviewer has already pointed out the controls are not nearly as seamless as Rome total war at least not on ipad, I’m finding it extremely difficult to play to the point that I’m rapidly losing interest which is a shame as it could be great. I get that it’s literally just been released and hopefully there will be updates but this definitely doesn’t feel like the finished article..Version: 1.2.3

Strong nostalgia; balky interface and crashes on iOSLoved this game back in the day, easily the best historical TW game (for its time) ever. And this port onto iOS captures a lot of the charm in a portable format, which is great. However, the battle interface is really balky; selection/deselection options don’t actually work as advertised and pathfinding is as bad nowadays as it was in the original. Also lots of crashes, particularly when trying to recombine scrap units after battle rather than retraining them all. These are minor things in some ways but after a dozen crashes trying to patch together an army after a siege it gets pretty old. Hopefully there will be ongoing support to vindicate the promise of the release but for now it’s fairly frustrating..Version: 1.3

Hoped for a little bit betterI loved this game on PC. On iPad though the controls are just too clunky for me to keep playing. I can’t figure out what a town is building at the moment, can’t move the map with the trackpad, really difficult to organise your unit positions, can’t see how to open the settings menu without going to the iOS multitask menu, having to do lots of extra taps or clicks to confirm things. Zoom in and out on trackpad is too janky for me. Maybe the other TW games on iPad were the same, but I found it hard to enjoy playing. Will hope for updates in future to improve these things!.Version: 1.2.3

Good but clunkyI love total war with this installment on PC being my favorite. On my iPhone is a great chance to replay it on the go and when I can fit it in. That being said large battles are VERY cumbersome to micromanage causing me to consider auto resolve far more than I like. Trying to handle menus and all the intricacies of the map is pretty hard on a small phone. If you play this I would highly suggest a large phone or iPad but for a great experience you need a pc which is where this game really shines..Version: 1.3

Good but crashesRecently started crashing at the same point during a battle. Also crashes pretty regularly when you want to use the bottom tab of controls like selecting troops. Basically unplayable at this point.Version: 1.4

Not what I expectedI was super pumped to get the game when you could pre order it. After it came out today, I was very excited to try it out, but I got disappointed after about 10 minutes. Firstly, there are a number of minor issues with the campaign map. For example, it takes around 3 seconds for the game to respond after you have clicked the end turn button. You could also use the same or similar GUI screens as Rome total war to make it easier for veteran players to navigate the building and recruitment browser. Secondly, it has become very hard to win siege battles. One time, one of my militia spears started to bring the battering ram to the gates with 150 men, and by the time the gate was destroyed, only 30 men survived. Not to mention I was playing on easy mode. These are a number of minor issues, but the graphics overall are much better than the Rome total war graphics. My number one concern is probably to make the GUI a bit more fancy..Version: 1.2.3

Good but not as smooth or fun as Rome Total War for iPadThe game is good, but it’s nowhere near as smooth as the iPad adaptation for Rome Total War 2. The battle mode is a cluster, troops don’t move together and turn into a mob immediately. Movement seems very off and troop regularly “get confused” with your orders. Many times the battles are so dark that you can’t see anything and have no clue what is happening, plus most troops look the same so it’s very hard to tell what is going on. I’ve logged many hours on Rome 2 and love everything about it. Midevil 2 just doesn’t seem to be as fun or user friendly.Version: 1.2.3

Brilliant Classic GameI honestly never thought it would be possible to have this game on a mobile phone. It’s an amazing classic that I lost many hours to as a child on my old PC and now I can lose many more to on my phone! However I have given it 2 stars for the moment - hopefully to catch the developers notice to highlight a really annoying bug! There are a couple of bugs, but by far the worst bug is that when I try and switch between cities - it begins switching between characters which really starts to be a nightmare once I have taken a few cities and want to quickly move between each city to oversee building, taxes etc. it means each turn I require to individually click on each city which becomes really annoying once you get to 10 or so..Version: 1.2.3
