Promoter ModeNormally, I don’t write reviews on a game, but this seemed very necessary. When I first got the game, it was extremely fun, especially in career mode. I liked it so much that I paid $3 to get the premium edition to play promoter mode. However, this mode has got to be the most bland and dull game mode of all time. There is simply nothing to do really besides assigning different fighters against each other. This concept could have been much better with ideas like PPV buys and the company’s budget and more interaction between fans or conference meetings or really anything to add more to this game mode so that it is actually fun and playable. Although I love this game and every aspect of it, the $3 I spent was not really worth it at all..Version: 1.04.1

I accidentally retiredI accidentally retired a fighter with 257 KO’s and 9 losses who do I unretire him ?.Version: 1.08.1

Great Game - But needs more simplicityOverall, great concept for a game. Coming from an era of Mike Tyson’s Punchout, I was expecting the same style of mechanics, but with the twist of upgrades and PVP elements. The complexity of each fight takes away from the retro/simplistic feel of this game. There are 4 buttons for hitting, and 4 for moving forwards/backwards to move closer or away from the opponent, plus left/right dodge, and two buttons to block. This brings the total button interface to 10. On a phone, there’s more buttons than screen. On top of that, in order to perform certain moves, you need to press combinations to do so, or in some instances, long press to perform power attacks. While you’re busy trying to figure out what buttons to press, you’re also trying to determine what your opponent is doing. They’ve made this game far too complicated in the PVE element. I think this layout works for PvP because of the lack of AI. I would recommend keeping it simple for the standard campaign, left and right to dodge, up to block up (press no button to block lower) and down to duck. Two buttons to hit (left or right side) with holding up to strike the face. Hold for power attack. The controls need to be simplified..Version: 1.03

An Interesting SequelThe original Prizefighters was a very fun, fast-paced, very addictive boxing game, it had a simplistic charm while also having some depth. Prizefighters 2 is a game I was excited to play, its gameplay looked deeper with new mechanics and it’s graphics looked cleaner with new, more detailed sprites. It looked like a very promising follow-up to Prizefighters *CAREER MODE Prizefighters 2 sets out to be a more technical game than Prizefighters 1, it’s career mode is more fleshed out, characters stats are more prominent, and require planning from the player, and the league feels alive as other fighter’s careers are simulated. Prizefighters 2’s career mode feels very reminiscent of Fight Night Champion’s Legacy Mode. Now this definitely sounds great but this career mode has some issues... -it is extremely focused on character stats, the actual gameplay feels secondary to the stats in how it influences the outcome of fights -Booking fights can be annoying as it can be hard to find open dates -Training and maintaining your fighter between every fight can start to feel repetitive as you progress as it usually boils down to train one week, rest one week, rest one week, and so on. There is definitely fun to be had with Career mode however it can feel quite slow paced. *GAMEPLAY Now the core gameplay of the game, it is fun however it feels way more drawn out and slow than Prizefighters 1, in Prizefighters 1, fights felt fast paced, most fights ended in KOs, it worked extremely well for a mobile game. In Prizefighters 2, fights feel a lot slower, stamina takes longer to recharge, fights end in KOs far less frequently, some players might enjoy this difference, but personally it feels too sluggish for a mobile game. An interesting new mechanic in Prizefighters 2 is the ability to move backwards and forwards in the ring, at first it’s interesting but over time it began to feel unimportant, it feels disconnected from the actual gameplay. It would be interesting if instead of the player being directly in control of the movement, it was instead decided by things such dodging, blocking and attacking. *CONTROLS One of the big appeals of the original Prizefighters was its simple but effective swipe controls, Prizefighters 2 has a button control scheme by default but can changed to a simple scheme similar to the first game’s. The game controls pretty well in both layouts. *GRAPHICS AND CUSTOMISATION The sprites and animations in Prizefighters 2 look a lot cleaner and higher quality than the Original Prizefighters. The game has a very nice style. The character customisation in Prizefighters 2 allows the player to change the colour of all parts of their characters gear with a great degree of freedom, a very cool feature which many players will enjoy. However most characters in Prizefighters 2 end up looking very similar, perhaps a remedy for this would be the addition of tattoos or female characters, these two could potentially add a lot of variation to character designs. *CONCLUSION Prizefighters 2 is an interesting sequel, it is a more technical and complex experience than it’s predecessor, however it loses the fast and simplistic charm of the original Prizefighters in the process. If you liked the original you should definitely give this sequel a try, if you like boxing games in general you should also definitely give this a try. Personally I still prefer the original Prizefighters however I an very interested to see how Prizefighters 2 will grow as it is updated.Version: 1.02

Sad I don’t like thisI loved PrizeFighters from the get go. How retro it was, you can customise your entire fighter their name etc. but the main part of the game the whole purpose is just rubbish For starters it seems like it’s genuinely unfair. My stamina bar is sooo small it’s only big enough for one left hook. But the opponents is massive and their health bars barely go down when hit with a barrage of attacks! But when they hit me a few times maybe 3 times IM HALFWAY DOWN! I thought it might’ve just been me so I trained a lot on the game but no. The attacks are soooo sluggish it takes about 25 seconds for a decent right left uppercut combo! The Controls aren’t meant for mobile OR controller as I struggled SO MUCH WITH A CONTROLLER. And it also seems like I can only do 3 form of punches also left hook, jab, uppercut. No right hooks no right jabs nothing. And I hate that I don’t like this game as it looks like it has so much promise but it’s just annoying and completely unplayable atleast for a mobile game..Version: 1.08.1

Bad controlsNot fun, controls are terrible, fights are boring..Version: 1.08.1

TerribleTerrible game makes no sense. I’m in a 12 round fight on normal difficulty I knock the dude down 2 rounds in a row and he gets up and then I get knocked down once in the final round and I lose terrible no logic to this game stop making games..Version: 1.08

Just not prizefightersOne of the best parts about original prizefighters was how it felt fast paced and fun The second one is just mediocre, it actually hurts me that I don’t like this, the game combat feels way to slow and sluggish, the controls aren’t meant for mobile either The career mode progress is way too stat oriented, stats just decide a match And what happened to KO finishes? They’re so rare now as stamina is so little and health is so high So TL;DR Too experimental, didn’t work.Version: 1.03

Terrible gameThe response on the controls is terrible and it’s not fluid gameplay..Version: 1.04.1

The waitingThe waiting for the energy/stamina sucks I know you’re trying to make the game more realistic but that idea sucks I’ll uninstall the game now.Version: 1.03

Devs read this plsOk here listen when I first got this game I was like “i can’t wait I wanna see if the game was just like the original”so I booted up the game and started my character I could not win like everytime I try to win I end up either not making it or getting knocked out see here’s the thing I expected it to be like the original fun can be Challenging but you can still win whenever I try to Ko someone I can the punches are to weak and that’s the problem with this game you need to make it like the original they changed the game way to much cause listen you almost can’t run out of stamina you have so much Health and all the punches are straight up weak I literally went to the highest strength and that did literally nothing I’m sad cause I expected this to be good so devs make more like the original we’re you can actually know people out.Version: 1.07

Absolutely UnfairGame is ridiculously unfair, to the point it’s barely playable. You try to fight someone, nearly impossible to get a knockout. Every round, they regain nearly all their health and you’re left with practically nothing. They always do more damage, and you at times can barely get a hit in because they get on this blocking and dodging spree where they seem to enter a Matrix like state. You barely have enough money too, there’s no way you can upgrade your coaches and still train- And without wasting everything you can’t train anything good..Version: 1.07

Not as good as the 1st oneTheres too many stats and it can get confusing to set up matches, i liked the simple 1st game that was fun..Version: 1.03

Terrible difficulty, weird bugHard mode is insane mode with NPC’s that have terrible stats spamming combos non stop stun locking your character until their stamina bar runs out only to instantly fill back up and spam and at unlock even harder. NPC’s will even spam thru combos you earned by punishing their spam. Don’t even get me started on how tanky every NPC is either. Normal mode is baby mode where NPC’s use the same easy jabs in the slowest most awkward time frames making it mega easy to dodge. There’s a very weird bug where your power pinch just won’t even register, the enemy will have hands down and not dodge the punch and you’ll be in range yet the punch just doesn’t register EXTREMELY ANNOYING!.Version: 1.06

Should be a female characterThis is a great game.Version: 1.02

Confusing controlsI don’t understand how the control work.Version: 1.08.1

MehCool idea, respectable retro style graphics. The clunky touch controls aren’t a problem on the easier difficulty settings but become a huge frustration on the hard setting. Especially when your inputs get interpreted wrong which happens a lot. Theirs also some latency in the touch controls which also isn’t a problem until you play on hard. 🤷‍♂️.Version: 1.07

Waste of time, controls are horridThe customization is great and the graphics are nice to look at, but the controls are absolutely horrible. The buttons are incredibly hard to push, half the time you miss them completely and the dodges are only based on luck, not timing or skill. If you could actually make it so we could see a jab or hit coming beforehand so that we could have a way to dodge it, that’d be great. But you don’t. Half the time you’re left tapping the dodge button 50 times so that you don’t get hit (but you still do). The stun time is too short as well. Your opponents eyes widen so that you know when to do a big hit, but by the time you process that you need to big hit them, they’ve already dodged it. So you’re better off by just spanning the dodge and jab randomly in hopes of maybe getting a good scorers decision when the match ends. There plenty more about the gameplay that is bad, but I’ve already wasted 10 minutes on this review that no one is going to read. This could be a good game, but the gameplay is easily some of the worst I’ve ever seen..Version: 1.07

Worth playing but controls need an improvementOverall the premise of the game is pretty good however there's one problem with the game I don't like, and that's the punching variation you can actually do, if you have a combo in mind you most likely won't be able to do it due to this, I'd love to be able to throw hooks to both the body and head or throw jabs and crosses to the body, and one last thing is that the dipping is slow to react, although that might just be my phone itself, overall though if you just want to play a fun boxing game I recommend this one..Version: 1.08.1

Prizefighters 1Much better Prizefighter 1….Version: 1.02

Awesome potentialLove this game! Unfortunately had to give 3 stars for lack of depth. I bought premium for management mode and it’s honestly so shallow, I’ve got 30+ hours and I’m just doing the same thing over and over with minimal changes in result. I want some freaks of nature and some intangibles added. The amateur generation is quite average, most fighters are pretty bad, there isn’t any elite fighters unless you do 20 weight classes and even then it’s pretty rare to get a good fighter..Version: 1.08.1

Good but could be greatFun idea and great atmosphere however the controls are uncomfortable and unresponsive at times making the game frustrating.Version: 1.08.1
