✓ Basic app for a station in declineApp poor - glitchy and functionality dead basic. Could understand it in early days but it’s nearly two years old now. Need download function and ability to manipulate the play bar so you can scan through news and ads on playback. Station is failing all round - flagship presenters like Coren, Williams, Jones, Kleeman, Newton Dunn and Portillo (who shows up about one weekend in four) dropping like flies and mediocre presenters like Davidson, Tilley and McInnes replacing them. Business model clearly failing so stuffed with highly annoying ads among the self-advertising jingles. Actual airtime about half as a result. Breakfast show continues to annoy with lightweight non-journo presenters out of their depth reading off scripts with the big stories of these trying times and topped off by that truly awful Mir woman screeching with laughter at every turn, snorting, clearing her dry throat and grunting through her nose every ten seconds when “interviewing” (reading her script). ✓ Quality Radio StationI stumbled upon this station by accident and am so glad I did. Finally able to listen to news and relevant information. However it’s not available everywhere. And for some random reason it just loses its signal when I’m listening. I have to close the app and open it again. ✓ Missing ends of programmesThis app is great for listening to live shows. I have sometimes used this app for catch up listening, particularly in the evening when I go to Jane and Fi’s programme from the afternoon. However, one massively annoying thing is that in a two hour programme, one gets the last minute or so of the end of Mariella Frostrup’s programme which precedes them, but then lose the last part of Jane and Fi; often this means either they, or someone they are interviewing just before 5pm is cut off!!! It’s downright infuriating. Surely it cannot be that difficult to sort out so one hears the whole of the programme one has chosen to listen to?Also, if you want to listen to a whole show, you cannot as it’s broken into segments and you need to play each one individually- very annoying! And the adverts! Well it is a commercial station so guess they have to be expected. However, they have a few companies which seem to be heavily invested in the station so those adverts are repeated regularly. And often- to the point where I can probably recite the one for a well known travel company. As for the adverts where the speak so fast at the end to say their Ts & Cs… we’ll that’s when I want to throw the radio out of the window. ✓ Sexism became unbearableI’ve been listening to Times radio for around a year, generally on the drive to and from work. Over the last few months I noticed that casual misandry had been creeping into some of the shows, particularly the Fi and Jane show. I tried to ignore it but it’s now become unbearable. Final straw came this evening when they were sexually objectifying male rugby players , then pointed out the sexism in what they were doing (imagine middle age men letching over the England women’s football team!) then laughed about it and dismissed it. The hypocrisy is now too irritating so I’ve stopped listening altogether, it just comes across as a seedy girls club.G*gmhtfyrrVersion: 43.0.1

✓ Excellent radio: unreliable appThe quality of the radio output is excellent. I’ve spent decades listening to another channel but prefer the more interactive and longer items on Times Radio. I tune in here first. Or I try to. The app needs to be hard closed after each use otherwise it’s just scrolling…. scrolling… scrolling. Freezes entirely if there’s an update. Needs the “you need an update” prompt like other apps. Also to fix its immature and coy sulking between uses and just turn on when “play” is pressed, *without* requiring a hard restart. Please fix. ✓ Great Station, poor appReally enjoy listening when driving on my commute into work when the app isn’t continually crashing. Seems to crash every time you go from a 4G to a 3G signal and vice versa. The only way to get it back is to force close the app - which isn’t possible when driving so renders it pretty useless a lot of the time ☹️.RossmanV6Version: 1.3.1

✓ Unusable in Landscape Mode.I tried the app and it sounds good, BUT when my 12” iPad is in its case on a reading stand, (which is 99% of the time) particularly when I am reading my Times, it is in landscape mode. The sheer inconvenience of having to take it out of its case to dismount it from the stand and then having to hold it in my hands in portrait mode (it’s very heavy) to operate Times Radio is sufficient to stop me listening to Times Radio completely. ✓ Good shows. Rubbish AppIt’s only 3 stars from me for the App. As many have already said the app drops reception with monotonous repetition which is bloody anting when trying to listen in the car. Anything from 5 minutes to 30 minutes in and reception just stops regardless of data signal strength or 3/4G. Please sort it out. The actual programme content is brilliant, especially the weekday morning show, and this is just ruining it..Gpch2Version: 1.5.0

✓ Station great, but app so bad you won’t listenThe station is great, really enjoyable and engaging, but they seem determined to make listening almost impossible. After nearly a month we still can’t play it directly through Google Home - it still plays X Radio instead; also, you can’t cast from within the app so as an iPhone user I can’t cast it and therefore hear if I move away from my phone. Additionally, you can listen to shows that have already broadcast, but only if you stream as you listen, which I can’t do as I usually work in remote areas without WiFi or any signal at all. It’s not so good I’m prepared to bust my data allowance listening to earlier shows in the rare event I have 4G - why can’t I download them at home to listen to while out? When you open the app it will be stuck on the last show you listened to, even if that was live and no longer broadcasting, you have to shut down the app and re-open it to get to the correct show. And why can’t I rewind a show to listen to a bit again or that I may have missed? Come on, Times, you had both the time and the resources to make more than a perfunctory app, albeit a very pretty one. Get your act together or I will very soon be a former TimesRadio listener - I just don’t need to work so hard to be entertained when there are so many very good podcasts so readily available..PeruginaVersion: 1.0.0

✓ Great station, app glitchyLove the station content. Great line up. The app is a little glitchy in places. The ability to listen to previous episodes of you’ve missed an interview or something is great. However it’d be useful to be able fast forward more easily through past episodes to get to section of show you want to listen to. I found I couldn’t drag the time line and had to press the skip 15sec button multiple times instead. ✓ Lost signal on my phoneI used to listen to Times Radio everyday. Increasingly I seem to loose my signal on my phone . This happens with other stations from time to time but Times Radio is by far the worst. I’ve written to enquire if and how this problem could be solved but didn’t get a reply. ✓ On the declineMatt Chorley, Callum, Stig Abel, Michael Portillo, John Penaar, Mariella Frostrup are all great. Ashmah Mir is annoying, takes pride in what she doesn’t know and her incessant cackling and faux flirting with Stig is just tedious. Kate Borsay is awful and makes everything about her. Why get rid of Phil Williams who was also great. It would be nice to see a response from Times to the comments expressed her? How come that doesn’t seem to happen?.PersonglaVersion: 26.0.0

✓ Fresh new stationTimes Radio gives us a pleasant fresh talk based radio station to listen to. Unfortunately the app does not have a Google cast button station to link to a Google Home device. These devices play Radio X when you ask them to play Times Radio. So if you use Google Home devices, the only way to listen to Times Radio on them is from Tunein, not this app..MK RoverVersion: 1.1.0

✓ Great radio, dreadful appThe app uses far more battery than other audio apps, it's the only app that makes my iphone get really hot. Then, each time I start it I need to force close and restart as it just hangs. It often displays the wrong program, such as claiming the live radio is a program from yesterday. ✓ Seems to be an early development versionOn IPad tablet, IOS 13.7 the app self-closes every few minutes which requires the user to re-open the app and select play. This makes the app fairly unusable at this time, although when it is working it is fine, excepting that it will not auto-rotate, so it you are using your tablet in landscape mode (for example as I am writing this with a wireless keyboard), the app is sideways.... ✓ Gone downhill rapidlyI discovered Times Radio when I bought a new car a year ago It was on the dab radio and I started listening to Times Radio. I even emailed them to say how much I enjoyed it and received a nice response. However, I felt that a “woke’ agenda was creeping in. I could even tolerate that but I then heard a financial ‘expert’ on the show, named as Vicky Pryce. I wanted to know if Times Radio was using someone convicted of perverting the course of justice and subsequently jailed, along with Chris Huhn. I emailed. No response. I phoned twice and got no reply. I emailed again…nothing. It seemed to me that Times Radio. Lives responding to praise but kept quiet when asked the simple question, was the woman who appeared on one of your shows the Vicky Pryce who was jailed for perverting g the course of justice? Then I noticed and article in the Times on-line featuring the very person I’d messaged Times Radio about and it seemed to be a determined attempt to rehabilitate the woman and therefore quite possibly a Times agenda. I tuned out after not receiving any response and, I must say, feel better for it as the constant morning chortling with PC Stig Abell and Aasnah Mir who laughs at EVERYTHING had started to get annoying too, along with the seemingly increasing number of adverts.
