Problems and more problemsIf you enjoy trying to run a website and business and have a bad app that always has issues then this is perfect. There are times it tries to sign you in and you can’t get in, there’s times you try to send a customer a picture and it disappears when you attach it, there’s times that you really need to respond to messages and you can’t get in or respond so you have to go to the website to sign in. It’s very troublesome especially when you pay for these services and can’t use them.Version: 2.71.0

Can not text - Long wait to fix this issueThe switch from Smart Line to Convesations was awful for me. I lost the ability to text, so I had to register my line for $19 through Go Daddy/mobile carriers. I received an email from Go Daddy support saying that my registration got denied because I did not supply my EIN number. The registration never advised this….so I called customer support (number provided on the email). It literally took the rep two hours to enter my EIN and related information into their system, all while chatting with an internal Go Daddy support person. While I was waiting to get this resolved, the phone hung up. Rep didn’t call back to confirm the resolution. I was calm the entire call, but just really disappointed with how this was handled. My advice, go to Google Voice, another virtual phone line service, or get a separate phone for your business. I just wasted two hours trying to get the texting feature back. Huge DisappointmentMy subscription is paid up for a few months but I can’t log into the mobile app. I keep getting a message saying my subscription is expired. I called GoDaddy for technical support and the guy just kept telling me wait 90min and it will work (that was 3days ago & it still doesn’t work). When I told him I had been getting the message for days his response was “Well it’s active on my end so just use your desktop.” I even tried texting and they told me oh you have to call for support. I’m running a business and now my clients can’t reach me via phone and I don’t have time to sit on a desktop all day waiting for text. Shame on you GoDaddy..Version: 2.40.0

AWFULI have had to delete & re-download this several times a week since it switched from Smart Line. I have been on hold with customer service at this moment for 30 minutes to see how to switch to a new provider. It is not acceptable for my business to miss calls, texts, be unable to dial out and have no log of calls/ texts that is complete and reliable. I only know I have been called sometimes because my actual cell phone rings and says “Go Daddy,” but the call never appears in the app log until I delete and re-download - it will happen again within hours or days. Hard to use and doesn’t always workCustom voicemail won’t save and customer service is a 18 minute wait, The entire app is not reliable enough to represent my business as it may or may not decide to work, sending and receiving text took 15 min before someone finally received my text. The idea is great but at the end of the day it’s just an app and would be fun for students with an at home business but I wouldn’t use this for a real business.Version: 2.75.0

Causing a communication challenge!I am very disappointed! I had the GoDaddy line and knew the transfer to ‘Conversations’ was happening but at no point did I expect a complete shut down of my text message capability. I have been unable to text out for over a week to my clients, I am now getting random calls with only beeping sounds in the other end. I did not have this issue before. All contacts do not upload at one time. You have to upload by batches and still not all of my contacts uploaded. After a week, I get a random message telling me my review to allow texting out was denied but no reason for denial was provided. After I called tech support, the representative also could not tell me a reason and only assumed it was because I didn’t have a domain through ‘GoDaddy’. Not all ‘GoDaddy’ users are self employed and need a domain. I myself are a Mortgage Loan Officer who chooses to use a business line for my clients. I don’t need a domain because I have my own website via my bank. I’m expecting a call from tech support to clarify this issue and give me access to text. This is truly affecting my business and day to day client communication..Version: 2.63.0

Complicated and expensiveI can tell that GoDaddy put a lot of time and effort into making the Conversations app appealing by modernizing the app’s layout but the price you pay per month is not worth it. You will be happier going to another service that offers lower pricing and a free trial that actually works. I had numerous issues when setting up my account and I spent hours on the phone trying to fix the issues with GoDaddy customer service and they weren’t able to do anything. I hope someone reads this and chooses to go with another service..Version: 2.80.0

CrashesI was really hoping this app would work so I don’t have to constantly check emails from the website. But every time I sign in, it just crashes and goes back to the sign in page. I spent three hours on hold trying to get through to someone a GoDaddy about this problem. After three hours avoiding someone finally did talk to me and it was determined there was some sort of bug or glitch. They said they would get back to me within three days but no one ever did. This App is useless. Can’t even open it. Tried it on iPhone, iPad and a friend’s iPhone. Uninstalled and reinstalled it several times with the tech person on the phone..Version: 1.66.0

Terrible ! Do not recommend.App forgets me and I have to log in to it to get messages and re-enter user name and PW. Then I get in and the app no longer knows my contacts. So all communications both texts and voicemail no longer have my customer names. Only phone numbers. When it did know contacts last, it would not list texts in order received! I had to scroll to try to find any new texts. So awful. I just spent an hour trying to sort out but I couldn’t reset my phone to follow stops so had to call back from another phone but the wait was going to be 40 minutes and I have to get to work. I reset my phone as suggested and still nothing works and I don’t have another hour to call back and sort this out. Ugh.Version: 2.74.0

Needs improvement for a busy businessIts an okay and good app but if I want to give this job to an employee. I have to give the employee my password which allows them to also access our entire goddady website. No option to give limited access to an employee so that they can reply to customers. Also, does not have a search option. So finding someones message within hundreds of other messages is impossible. Wish I could type a keyword or customer name to find certain customers messages quickly..Version: 2.28.0

Changes are terrible don’t buyHad to convert from Smartline and the changes are terrible. I can no longer text because I can’t get verified as a business because it isn’t clear how to do this. Now I’m getting soooo many unsolicited calls because my real phone number is exposed! Leave it to Google to do that! Loading the new app is almost impossible. I’m looking for another app to replace this piece of _s__. Why was Smartline so good and this is just _s_? It’s all go daddy. I have to keep logging out and logging back in. This blowsI understand upgrading but this new app is really bad. Phone calls sound really choppy and I can’t send any text messages and I got an error saying I have to wait up to 15 days for approval? This is terrible. I run a business using this and since they force the upgrade of conversations, I’ve had many dropped calls and customers can’t reach me. I used to promote SmartLine to all my business friends. SmartLine was not perfect but it worked. This new upgrade is terrible. Already looking at other options. Thank you for nothing Go Daddy..Version: 2.67.0

Won’t Work with Answering ServiceI was a SmartLine user for several years and was excited about transitioning to Conversations. I imagined new features, not the loss of one of the most important features we relied on. You can no longer have calls sent to a desk phone And now I’m scrambling for a new VoIP provider and porting my number. Just because GoDaddy dumped a critical function that prevents me from using my after hours answering service. Spent 35 minutes talking to support before figuring this out. Update: Support has gotten worse!! Avoid this app and GoDaddy at all costs!Update: Upon posting my last review I got the generic “we’d love your feedback “ response via email. They also sent a link to update my review. The link they sent goes to their website and the Chat button doesn’t work. Three calls into customer service today were all disconnected after holding over 5 minutes each time. The link the developer sent via email doesn’t even work! You can’t make this stuff up! So per my previous response, don’t use their Conversations app. The service is horrendous. The app isn’t working today and I have no way to reach someone via chat or phone. If your business relies on the Conversations app you’re going to have major problems. So my “update” is that the service is worse than ever!!! What a horrible experience. Been working with the SmartLine App for years with many problems. GoDaddy support is a joke. If you’re a business owner you will waste countless hours on hold trying to reach a live person. BEWAREI can’t believe that the positive reviews for this app are real. I’ve been with Go Daddy’s SmartLine service for years. Then they decide to switch to this new app. In order to switch over you need to provide a company website, tax id #, and samples of old text messages you sent for business. Then I wait a week without access to text messages just to get denied. They don’t tell you why, but will unlock your number within 7-10 days so you can move it to another carrier. How are people supposed to run a business? No Go Daddy products for me anymore. Update: They also charged me $19 to deny me. No reason given. I’m trying to port my number to another carrier. The new carrier sends me a text that they want me to reply to, but Conversations doesn’t allow me to respond to text messages..Version: 2.69.0

Worked for a couple of monthsWorked for a couple of months. Was on the phone and texting for nearly 4 hours with at least 5 or 6 agents trying to figure out why it stopped working. It brought me back to the beginning where you set up your phone. Meaning my number is lost now. Those 5 or 6 agents being Go Daddy, Apple (since the app was downloaded from their store), and T-mobile seeing if possibly they had as block on my phone that prevented me from using third party apps. NO ONE could help me. I even got a premium tech support agent, but that would have been a charge. No, I am already paying monthly. Needs Block featureI’m being inundated with solicitations from everything for janitorial services to website marketing and other useless sales pitches. Requests to stop using my customer contact number to solicit me repeatedly go ignored. I also receive lots of spam calls as well as other menacing messages (we are a day spa that offers legitimate massage therapy services). For this reason, I’m planning on disconnecting the app and won’t use it again unless and until they are able to supply a simply block solution. I’m a small business and just don’t have the luxury of spending so much time having to deal with solicitations. It’s absurd that it doesn’t already have that very basic feature. My landline and iPhone both have that feature, so I’m perplexed as to why it’s not a feature in this app. There are lots of other bugs and problems in the app that need attention as well. 👎.Version: 2.51.0

Upgraded and much improvedThe conversations app has been improved and is now very helpful. It lets you know right away when someone contacts you via your website and even gives limited automated responses . It keeps a record of anyone who contacts you via chat and saves thid info for future reference. Best of all you can respond to the customer directly via text or phone via the app. Thanks so much for the upgrade it’s much more useful now..Version: 2.45.0

Lost customers, revenue and communicationEver since Go Daddy/SmartLine and Communications has partnered and we are required to use the communications app. I have had my phone number through SmartLine for over six years now, this number is all over my work vehicles websites online pages and social media but now it’s going to cost me tens of thousands of dollars because my number I am being told cannot be used. I have lost customers because they cannot communicate with me, we frequently use the text messaging feature, which requires 15 days of verification before it can be used., I have missed multiple phone calls, I have missed text, messages and voicemails. This has cost me revenue, and I am now in contact with my attorney because these people do not take it serious. Don’t use this app !!! Beware!!!.Version: 2.68.0

Terrible app. Wasted $179I pid $179 to upgrade to website builder + marketing and chat option was one of the most important feature, the convenience of being able to reply from your phone to people who visit my website and have a question. This app is not showing my current website, I contacted support and all they keep saying is to reinstall the app which I did 2 times and now their rep Vignesh is saying it must be a bug in their app, how does that justify me paying so much money to buggy app? Horrible! Beta mode - problems everywhereIt s been a nightmare to set up, to verify ( you can not verify on your I phone I noticed you can only verify on a computer! And even after all if that it still takes 2 weeks to verify even though they charge you $ 19 to verify you so you can even respond to your text messages! YIKES!! !!! None of the support team have any clue about anything ! Waiting for a call back for over an hour and still nothing! Even to link to my social media is not working correctly! ! And GoDaddy support was useless! Update: I m going to ask GoDaddy to REFUND me! I will also demand a refund for the horrible verification ($23) that still is pending for no reason! I can not use this horrible app! GoDaddy should have vetted this sub -preforming app before shuttling us over from Smartphone which ran without any of these constant problems this failure of an app gives!.Version: 2.68.0

I actually hate this appI hate this app. You are basically subject to whatever they want to set up in it. I consider myself plenty tech-savvy, but this app is very confusing. Your calls, texts, and voicemail are found under the same tab (even though there are several tabs)and you can’t tell what they are unless you open them. God forbid it’s a missed call and it opens into you actually calling back when you haven’t heard the voicemail. When you try to listen to voicemail on speaker, it is just a louder version in your phone, not actually coming through your speaker. When my clients call, the phone never rings, even though I have all permissions set in my iPhone settings. It just goes to voicemail. The app has set up four different businesses on the app, even though I only have one, with no way to clear anything. You do not control any detail of this app. I absolutely hate it. The lack of ability to set it up so it works for me feels arrogant and disrespectful. There are actually zero settings within the app. Did I mention I hate this app? Update: I still hate this 2nd number option. There are constant issues and “error codes” when making calls that brings my business to a screeching halt. Ridiculous customer serviceIf you value customer service, then don’t go with this company! It is beyond ridiculous to get a hold of someone and when you do they don’t know what they’re doing. Beyond frustrating. Do yourself a favor and do not sign up for this ridiculous app. I am shocked that it has a 4.5 rating. I will never trust another reading again because this reading should be a zero. Conversation is so bad that I needed to cancel it. I was within the 30 day window, but took me a month to get a hold of someone. Then they told me I couldn’t get my money back because I was outside the 30 day window. This is ridiculous because, I didn’t ask to be moved from Smartline to Conversations. Go Daddy forced everyone to this new ridiculous app. I’m not sure what’s worse the way the messaging works or the customer service..Version: 2.72.1

Has Potential But Needs ImprovementsI like the idea of being able to have a second business number without having a separate phone to use. However, this app is very glitchy and has bugs. There are many times where I cannot either save contact information, place a call or send a text message, which is a huge convenience considering that I am using this for business purposes. I have made sure my software on my phone is up-to-date, the app is updated itself and I’ve even uninstalled and reinstalled. I’ve reached out to customer service to no avail. The only solution after all of the troubleshooting techniques was to use the desktop version which you have to occasionally log in and out and I can’t receive push notifications. I am close to closing my account and using a different service. Lastly, besides it being glitchy there’s no option to delete messages that I no longer need..Version: 2.67.0

Set up took weeks ! Instead of minutes.First you have to pay for a subscription through Apple and that was not a seamless process and I couldn’t get my number set up. Once I got my number I couldn’t text until I was verified and they make you pay for that too. Them it tells you you have to watch t up to two weeks for the verification to process. I don’t have an EIN yet but put in my business’s name and that rejected my verification and it tired to get me to pay again. The whole process has taken a couple weeks being double charged and 5 hours on the phone with GoDaddy. I feel like a test animal for the companies new product and it’s been a horrible experience..Version: 2.82.0

GoDaddy doesn't care about existing clientsBeen using Smartline for years. It's fine for what you pay for, recently I found out that SmartLine is becoming obsolete. So when I left a review on Trustpilot about how poorly the app was running GoDaddy responded by giving me a free year of this Conversations app. It’s taken me 2 months to figure out and get a hold of someone to tell me that I can’t transfer my SmartLine phone number to Conversations. So the free year of this app is absolutely useless. SmartLine was a third-party app that GoDaddy was promoting, which they decided to just not update and have the product anymore. So I’m being told that Conversatios is geared more towards new customers and those who have SmartLine are pretty much screwed and they’re going to be phased out in about 6months. So if you want keep using your phone number that you have with SmartLine you will have to find a completely different company to transfer your number. There’s absolutely no customer service for SmartLine anymore. No emails were ever sent or notices of this there silently just phasing it out. The only reason I was able to find out about this is was to leave a review about how poorly SmartLine was running. Nice way to treat customers..Version: 2.45.0

Pretty bad appI'm pretty surprised how bad this app is. it is so buggy. The contacts are not able to be deleted. Text messages don’t often go through. You can’t change the name of the business on the screen even though you change it on the profile. I contacted support twice on this and they seem very confused saying that this is a new product and they are trying to figure it all out. All in all I would say get your toll-free number somewhere else..Version: 2.36.0

Could be great if it workedMultiple issues: signs out within a few seconds, (2) not connecting and showing conversations that are in the desktop conversations dashboard, (3) can’t change the email address notifications are sent to. The contact form leads from my website go to my business email address, but I can’t change the chat leads from going to my personal login email. Frustrating. And no, I don’t want to change my login email to the desired chat notification email. No Notifications App Is SlowNo notifications, app doesn’t update after you read messages. This app just needs to be rebuilt with better technology. Y’all dropped the ball on this. Disappointed especially considering it hasn’t already been overhauled. Doesn’t workA client’s first message will appear (messages go to the actual app and also my email). After I respond ok the app and the client messages again, I’ll get the message in email but not on the app. I don’t have a direct chain on the conversation to appropriately organize the clients’ conversations. It’s very annoying. Also not including that I’ll get the notification in my email but when I go to click on it the email disappears. Please fix this, this has been happening all year. Lacks basic functionalityWant to like it, but they make it rough. Basic business functions are unavailable: *Group text? No. *Conference call a second person? No. *Access the camera directly from your phone? No. This one is rough. To send a photo I have to leave Conversations, go to my camera, take a picture, save the picture to Photos, go back into Conversations, tap on the paperclip, select the picture, then hit send. *Want to call someone from a text? The ability to call is buried three taps deep. Every. Time. Seems to be better lately, but for a long time, voice calls were veeeeery choppy. I had to end the call and call back. Usually the second call worked, but it is frustrating to play call quality roulette. The only reason I’m staying with it right now is that I’m prepaid (don’t want to deal with seeing about a refund), don’t want to have to deal with porting a number again, and don’t want to have to deal with paying the Carrier registration fee. I had no issues with Smart Line then they forced a changeI had no issues with GoDaddy’s SmartLine, it worked fine, then they forced a change to this Conversations app. It took 3-4 weeks to get the number ported over, it was a lot of paperwork and calls, and now I get more crap calls than ever and alerts in bubbles that don’t bring me to whatever the alerts is for. Not happy at all with this app or the set up. After more investigation, a Google number would have been much better..Version: 2.76.0

THE WORST APP …. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLEI have multiple businesses so additional phone lines are a must for our company; switched to this one from smartline per godaddy suggestion. This app was TERRIBLE and USELESS and a pain in thr behind. In between the constant unexpected log outs ( and having to scramble to log back in time and time again ) , the constant call drops, the inability to alert me real time when a call was coming through only to hear the missed call chime , this app is a JOKE . Save yourself the money and trouble. I took my business elsewhere..Version: 2.58.0
