✓ Fun game with a nice storyDownloaded this game to kill time on the train and bus and am not disappointed. The story is alright for a mobile game. The part that makes this game a 4 star is the powerful monsters that you get early on that makes the games less challenging. To counter this I use only slimes and the game turns challenging very quickly. I hope this game isn’t discontinued like most other dragon quest mobile games. ✓ A quality game for DQ fansThis game is much more fun than the other DQ mobile game. High quality character models and localization that DQ fans will appreciate. Energy can be scarce and ranking up is slow. Level up materials are also kind of hard to come by. It’s your basic gacha with paid and free gems. The subscription gets you a faster auto battle speed which is surprisingly handy, especially since skip tickets are not too plentiful either. I wish it came with daily paid gems or something too. Other than that, prices aren’t bad and it’s free of predatory or high pressure micro transactions. Overall, it’s a fun little strategy game that is easy to play free and casual during your spare time, and also fun enough to spend a few hours, and maybe a few dollars, playing the story and powering up your favorite monsters..Version: 1.0.2
✓ This Dragon Quest hit me harder than a Giga-Gash!So far all I can say is AWWWWW YEAH! This game reminds of Dragon Quest Monsters! I loved being able to be the monsters and demons and enemies in those games and similar to Dragon Quest 8! I kinda enjoyed Dragon Quest of the Stars, but this one is waaaaaay more fun. Reminds me of Fire Emblem a little bit, but again, I like the whole of Dragon Quest series more than Fire Emblem. This game is fun because I like the grid-based movement and strategy. ✓ A Refreshing Instalment for the Monster Taming GenreFor those who have played the Dragon Quest franchise, especially the Monsters and spin-off series, this is a must play. Yes it is a gacha game, but more often than not f2p mobile rpgs are nowadays as money has to be made somewhere to keep the game afloat. However, the game actually lets you recruit monsters that you’ve fought in battles, a nice throwback to the Monsters series again. The artwork and visuals of the game are, as expected, breathtaking for a mobile game and are in-line with those of other DQ games. Musical score contains all the classics from the DQ series one would expect, so is nostalgic to listen to. I would highly recommend this game. The only element that isn’t in the game that I was expecting to see based on previous DQM entries, is breeding / fusing of monsters, but at present I’m only on chapter 4, so it may well be there in the later game. Still though, it isn’t something that is a make or break for playing this game by any means. I hope to be enjoying this game for years to come..Version: 1.0.0

✓ My new addictionI’m not one for mobile games, but this is a blast. I’ve always been a huge Dragon Quest fan so maybe I’m bias but this game is colorful and fun just like the rest of the franchise. ✓ LOVE IT!If your a long time dragon quest fan, this is the game for you c: it reminds me of fire emblem three houses abit with its mechanics, and monster rancher, but it gives me vibes from dragon quest builders 2, im not a big fan of dragon quest two the stars i feel like its missing an element from the original dragon quest games but this one gives you the missing pieces! It even has great cutscenes like the old dragon quest games and artyle, plus i adore the characters and story so far, its better then the dragon quest too the stars one where everyhing feels out of place and all over the place, its hard too get immersed in that one in my opinion, although its not terrible, i dont like that characters or the story that much in that game though. ✓ A nice game for new players.I only know dragon quest from the game DRAGON QUEST Of THE STARS and Dragon Quest: Builders 2. After that I looked more into Dragon Quest games, and they seem pretty fun. Yesterday I started playing the game and I got to say it’s really nice! The characters are cute and silly, the graphics are nice, and the game is really generous when it comes to new players and is a nice way for people to get into the Dragon Quest Franchise. The strategic gameplay is nice and rare to find on mobile games too! However...I do have some problems. The reward system is kind of odd, you get your rewards then you have to go to a gift box to claim it which I find quite odd and confusing, and I also don’t get why the 10 summons are so high priced, I personally would suggest it would be 1,000 gems than 3,000. ✓ Nostalgia upgraded!Let me start off saying I grew up playing the original Dragon Warrior! And this game feels just like it but soooooo much better, I find myself wanting to hear the retro sounds (I usually play most games with no volume) and the cartoonie graphics with monsters that are from those original DW games ,can not ask for more. ✓ Good, but could be better.The game is fun, addictive at times. But there are a few downsides and the main one I see is the energy system. There’s no point in having it when you have to farm for items needed to rank up certain characters. More characters should be added to lower classes since we keep getting the same ones or instead allow us to turn those extra characters in for material needed to rank up characters. Y’all should also add teams, team wars. It could be fun, the game usually doesn’t give it much difference on PVP with characters in similar levels, unless they’re super under leveled again the game is fun and addictive but it can be better..Version: 2.0.0

✓ A treat for DQ fansIt’s a proper gacha game very directed to fans of the franchise. Although it has its own main story it is definitely more for fans to acquire their favorite characters. On that note it could be a good starter for new fans to get into the franchise and see what the DQ universe has to offer. Though I haven’t gotten to the heart touching story the main games tend to have it still is very much a cute and entertaining game. ✓ Pretty dang coolI just got the game about yesterday and I’m loving it a lot. The best characters in this game are S rank and so far I’ve gotten 2 for free, plus a ton of great A rank characters with cool designs. The tactical gameplay is a lot of fun, and being able to use certain characters to shoot over walls is cool. There’s leader skills, support characters, and healers. ✓ Reminds me of the days of dragon quest/warrior monstersIf you remember those days starting with dragon quest monsters for the game body pocket you’ll remember the good time of choosing monsters with movesets and Their weakness and resistance, which gives the same vibes, but the lack of breeding and the way the stats work. Plus adding the gatcha base system for getting monsters by chance via tickets or just paying gems in general via real world currency, honestly I can’t complain much It’s still somewhat fun either way.Version: 1.0.2

✓ Probably my favorite mobile game.I’ve been a long time fan of the dragon quest series so I got this expecting it to be a normal mobile game (a cheap knock off of the real experience) but in reality, in true dragon quest fashion, the game defies expectations and does exactly what it needs to do. It’s just involved enough to be entertaining but with a control scheme that’s perfectly suited to a small touch screen. ✓ Really good so farI’ve been playing this game a soon as it came out but not as mg main game. I really love the strategy in this game. If you don’t want strategy and only want to get characters or enjoy the story then you can go in auto mode every battle. In the beginning you get 3000 gems just by playing the tutorial which is enough for one ten pull. You need to finish to chapter two mission 1 first two unlock the pull area so yeah. The story so far is genuinely amazing. I’m very hyped up for what’s gonna happen in the end with the whole competition thing. In the end dragon quest tact is really fun!.Version: 1.0.2

✓ Great gameIf you like the DQ series, try it, just don’t expect miracles (or even ok luck) at scouting for new mons. Even the second best tier (A) is brutal to get, let alone S tier. Luckily free crystals are plentiful (at the start) so save them until you feel ready to fill a team. Also, the energy is syrup on a slow day. Like 5 minutes for 1 energy and when a single story run costs 12.....I mean come on. Other than that it really is entertaining for the DQ series 👍 PSA: They don’t tell you that they have 2 exchange options. One is paid gems and one is free, they aren’t that different and just gives a boost. Devs, if you actually read these, please add a monster-pedia type section so we can see where to get copies of mons without having to search dozens of stages..Version: 1.0.2

This game has no pity system, no “on the 5th pull guaranteed” nothing to help you get the team you want. Unless your a whale (big spender) you will be stuck with a low budget team of crappy S ranks that despite their rank are garbage against the on banner S Ranks. And don’t let the free tickets and gems fool you, you’ll get garbage every time unless you spend ALOT. Not to mention to power up each character you need MULTIPLES of them... ✓ Great So Far...I’ve just started playing today, and my first impressions are positive! I didn’t want to miss the free Slime King, and the game has been fairly generous for a starting player so far. Including a chance to re-roll for a chance at an S-rank Killing Machine, etc. And I ended up settling for two S-ranks and 2 A-ranks among others. So far so good. Hopefully this game has a long life ahead of it. I was a big fan of Mobius Final Fantasy, and that game’s global version was sadly discontinued. So I am a little wary of any new Square Enix mobile titles. Cautiously optimistic is probably the best way to describe it. But here’s to a good launch of a great game!.Version: 1.0.2
✓ Great RPG to have on the go!I don’t really play many mobile games, but this is a great use of the Dragon Quest license. I love tactics games and the art style of the Dragon Quest series blends together quite nicely. Smooth gameplay and a wealth of side missions, timed events and leveling mechanics keep me coming back for more. Grinding is a staple in the Dragon Quest series, but it doesn’t feel like a chore here. If you are still commuting to the office or don’t have a handheld gaming device to get your RPG itch then this is a great alternative. There are micro transactions, but from what I gather they just fast track you towards getting more powerful party members and speeding up the battles. If you have patience then you can obtain those more powerful party members in time. Music is a joy to listen to while playing, but I’m guessing you could pair the gameplay with the podcast of your choice and watch the time fly by. If you like tactics games then give this a shot, but don’t expect the most engrossing story. 8/10.Version: 1.0.2
