✓ An actually fun Star Trek gameMaybe because it’s an Arcade game, but for once this isn’t a money-grubbing heart breaker of a game. It plays like an action RPG with mobile gaming conventions of daily and weekly events, PVP battle reward tiers, daily sales of permanent gear and things like that. But you just use collectibles and latinum that you get from your normal play to upgrade. Oh, and the story in the main plot line is actually good. It keeps you interested and reading the cut scenes for the plot. I’m genuinely impressed. I’ve waited two months to do this review always waiting for this game to break my heart. It hasn’t yet. ✓ A Solid GameI love Star Trek so obtaining my favorite characters, leveling them up, and sending my favorites on away missions is really fun for me. The story is engaging and makes sense to why the characters are all there, but it’s honestly a Star Trek staple to traverse the ideas of time travel and parallel universes for crossovers and alternate storylines. Something I’m really hoping for is a command Worf from when he switches from security to command for DS9. Also, I hope we see Wesley Crusher and Nog in the future. Really, I’m just hoping to see more of my favorite characters to collect. Thank you for this wonderful game..Version: 1.0.20

✓ Khan’s WrathI am enjoying this game so far, there’s enough to do with different events and operations to keep you occupied. However there are some issues I have with the game. It can be quite buggy and does kick you out on the odd occasion. When choosing your away team it sometime only let’s you choose one character rather than a team of 4. I’ve tried to join several alliances with no luck, so I created my own. To my surprise no one had created an alliance called Khan’s Wrath. Please feel free to join..Version: 1.0.11
✓ I hope this is the trendSo I’ve played many freemium games and stopped playing all of them eventually cause I realize they are all just gotcha games after a time and then I kick my self for spending the oh couple hundo it took me to get there. So yea if you compare this game to other leading freemium games you might find something lacking but this game is actually free( with arcade subscript ) and fun and has almost all the bells of those others. ✓ Great RPG, Free GachaLove being able to collect all characters without having to spend a dime extra on the game. It’s a really solid RPG with a fun story! The developer seems genuinely interested in feedback from players and has been making changes to make the game even better. Can’t wait to see what the future chapters have in store for the story! ✓ Love it, despite the bugsThis game is fantastic. The bugs almost make it more interesting. Bug hunt wishlist top item is in PVP where the game mechanics seem to fail (game says my shot will easily zero, and opponent survives despite not having an apparent buff to do so.. play some pvp and you will see the strangeness). ✓ Surprisingly, good!I must admit, I was really not to like this game, but it far exceeded my expectations! Great work, Tilting Point! This is the kind of game that would usually have you spending hard earned cash just to unlock your characters. Because it's in Apple Arcade, I can play it without any feeling that I am being ripped off! It is a really well balanced gsme that really draws you into the story in a very lighthearted way. I'm not a PVP fan, so I can't comment on the aspect of the game. Nor my social person, so I've stuck to single player, so far. That could change though. If you're looking for a game that you can dip in and out of and have a bit of fun, but not take it, or yourself, too seriously then try it. Of course, if you are a Trekkie fan like me, you will have a lot of fun with this game (however, is that the best Kirk you could design, guys and girls?)..Version: 1.0.21

✓ New survival mode is fun but stops at level 100?I was lucky and got to pic good characters - and literally walked through all the levels on Auto Pilot - except a handful of battles on the that last few levels. I never lost a character, or needed a replacement . I invested in shields and defense and was about to start investing in health when the game - stopped at level 100. ✓ Game is funI found the low graphics mode which prevents my phone from overheating, and I play it long term. My phone doesn’t overheat on low graphics mode. It’d be great to have significant sources of Antineutron and Duranian… getting maybe a couple a week doesn’t really allow you to upgrade any further (even after completing all levels). My two other beefs: * why is the scroll view implementation so frustrating, it just jumps around while trying to tap on things. Normally have to tap on things several times while it jumps around and you end up on the wrong thing. * why can’t the app remember the last team selected? It remembers random people selected, more often than not just empty, why not just the last team selected? I love the game, but it seems there are some simple things to make it better..Version: 1.0.10

✓ Great to pass timeShows how games of this type can be much more fun when the pay to win freemium model is removed completely. With no players able to dominate simply by outspending everyone else, it’s much more balanced - and thus, has far fairer gameplay. Pay to win tacked onto games whether it’s needed or, in most cases, not needed but added simply to squeeze as much as possible from the users, has completely destroyed the quality of mobile gaming these days. Powerful devices and complex operating systems let down by lazy developers who are happy to copy the same old design to make money without caring one tiny bit about the quality of the game they’ve produced. When you play a game such as this, it really does point to the greed of other games companies that are involved in games of this type. If this was designed to have a lottery to gamble coins for acquiring in game characters or consumables it would quickly earn the company money- but would immediately destroy its appeal. I just wish other (if not all) game companies would realise that if they would go back to selling their games like they’ve done in the past - and still do, on every single other platform - and get rid of the massive amounts of IAPs and the pay to win formula, it would turn around the entire mobile game industry overnight. As for the stupid “pay-to-play” mechanic in so many games these days - where you’re literally limited to being able to play a certain amount before having to wait for your plays to recharge until you can play again. Unless you pay more. Horrible business model. But games like this are a step in the right direction. As for the game itself, yeah I really like it. Good selection of characters from both the movies and the TV series’ from The Original Series, through right up to Star Trek Discovery. Great stuff 👍.Version: 1.0.20
✓ Getting betterYes there are still some bugs but the game is worth playing, particularly for a Star Trek fan. I do have to restart the game occasionally (not too often) but the latest update did improve things for me. I haven’t ever lost progress when the game does freeze occasionally and have been able to complete missions and events, collect classic Star Trek characters and level them up..Version: 1.0.5

✓ It’s all fun and games until someone gets assimilatedPlays really well on Apple TV 4K with a PS4 controller, once I worked out that you *can* pause a battle (Options button!) and speed up the animations. I love the fact that I can play my game on any device, but it’s too easy to lose progress when switching between devices if you aren’t careful to exit completely each time. The exit button isn’t easy to find either. It would be nice if the app checked for a newer cloud save when resuming from sleep, because it cost me two hours of progress when this caught me. I have seen a few other, mostly minor, bugs playing on Apple TV. For instance: in Summon, the info button shows drop rates for the *previous* summon type, or so it claims; Alliance runs out of play cards after 1 battle (a visit to PVP fixes it); various navigation bugs in Crew, sometimes to the point that I can only back out and restart the game because the “cursor” disappeared. A word to the wise: don’t start a PVP battle if some of the previously selected crew are on shuttle missions. Due to a bug, the game still shows them in the slots, and your total power will look as strong as ever, but you *will* lose the battle when your one or two remaining crew go into battle against a team of four… You just have to wait, or pick someone who *isn’t* greyed out. But the worst bug happens on my iPad 6: the game crashes every time I pause a battle, after a second or two, at least in survival mode. Seems like it might be out of RAM. (This was with the controller too.) Star Trek: Legends is a really good game; it just needs Scotty to do some repairs in the engine room. Plus it needs the Star Trek TNG Ambient Engine Noise for the main screen. Make it so! PS: Please find a way to support mouse wheels on Mac! It’s too painful without easy scrolling..Version: 1.0.21
✓ Great but could use some tweaksFirst, I really like this game. I like that I can play at my pace and not feel like any distraction is going to cause me to get beat up. I think there are some places where adjustments are warranted. In the mission section, why do I have to re-choose the team at every stage, even if I choose “next” which implies I want to keep going with the team I have. Frankly I’d like to see the ability to assign set away teams and then recall them for missions or whatever. That would be a huge time saver when trying to build up characters/teams. ✓ Fun, but needed more QA and UI design attentionGood points: good writing, decent turn-based combat system. Bad points: many minor bugs in the non-combat parts of the game, cumbersome non-combat UI designs (the store is especially annoying). Fortunately, virtually all the bugs I’ve seen are cosmetic UI glitches in information presentation, and have simple workarounds or can be ignored; the combat parts of the game are pretty solid, with just some annoying finickyness around targeting (on iPad, I’d hate to play on a smaller iPhone screen). I’ve only seen one or two cases where bugs impacted gameplay, in many hours of play. Combat can feel too tedious if you don’t turn up the speed setting; it’s fun to watch for a while, but 1x speed is just annoying after a while. The characters have a pretty interesting range of powers, though it’s pretty easy to play through the entire game with just the same crew, with one substitution- there’s definitely a “winning” crew for the missions. PVP teams from other players only have a few more common variants, though I’ve seen a few very different, and successful, teams. The game feels like it was originally designed for in-app purchases like the developer’s other ST: Timelines game (which is chock full of annoying upsell ads). Fortunately, as an Apple Arcade title, it has none of that, and I probably wouldn’t play it if it were a non-Arcade title..Version: 1.0.21

Not sure how Apple Arcade handles monetization because I just started using the service, but this game definitely looks like the kind that would absolutely overrun with in-app purchases. ✓ Extra pvp elements would helpThe game is interesting enough, but one area to improve would be to allow players to pvp with lower leveled characters should they choose to, because the way pvp is set up you’re kinda forced into always playing your top tier characters because you’re matched up against someone strong.. bring able to join pvp for different character levels (ie character level 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 50-60 etc) would increase variety and lessen boredom..Version: 1.0.15

✓ Overheats iPhoneLove the game. Concerning overheating of iPhone XS Max though. Tried several hints to lower heat (removed case, turned off Bluetooth, turned off App refresh). I also turned off sound and dimmed the screen brightness. Within seconds of starting game, iPhone instantly gets hot and automatically dims screen (not turning off auto-brightness in settings as can damage hardware and battery). ✓ Excellent GameThis is a excellent game because it just brings back old and new Star Trek characters and then there is the Nexus which is new but just so cool and then the characters are from all eras so from like Captain Kirk to Captain Picard it’s got almost all of the characters! Another thing is how you get them! It. Is. So. COOL! I mean the way it keeps you on the edge of your seat. it’s awesome! Although I also have 2 other things that I’d like you to improve. First of all I’d like it to be easier to lev up on your actual profile cause it took me 2 days to just reach lev 5 so that needs a small adjustment and also maybe 85% of all the character are federation and not very many klingons, romulans, augments, ferengi and even the outlaws! ✓ Trek With a Twist of Final FantasyAbsolute game of my dreams that I never thought would ever happen.. what’s here so far is great.. but it would be awesome if you could get cast member voice samples like Timelines has.. But what really disappointed me is WHY IS THERE NO CAPTAIN ARCHER ?? He is my 2nd fave captain.. Also take a page out of timelines character selection and add more series characters as 80% of my crew is just generic officers. Another thing u could add is allowing customisation of generic officers and the ability to name them. Really loved the Episode that pays homage to TOS episode ‘Arena’ a brilliant follow up and satisfying conclusion to one of my fave trek episodes.. ✓ Great idea! Few issues!It’s great to able to play a game like this without all those in app purchases. However I do hope there is more content to come, there are so many more characters in Star Trek. Also the character animations-each action ability only has one. Which does not compare well to for example Marvel Strike force a free to play game where some character actions have multiple animations which really make things come alive. Also for a premium arcade game I’d really hope for some voice acting (Star Trek timelines has some) and some snippets for each character. Finally the support is not good. I can’t find a website or Facebook page to support the game. Some of the stats are unexplained. A proper in game help or shooting website is needed urgently..Version: 1.0.0
✓ A really good one!I’ve been around the block with Star Trek games quite a bit. I play Timelines and Star Trek online. This game is obviously a labor of love by the developer. The characters are rally amazing. I’m trying to get all the characters just so I can see their moves. I’ve been getting into PvP more even though I haven’t finished the main story yet and that’s actually quite a challenge. I’m happy Apple Arcade has games like this. ✓ Good game, minor bugsThe game is great, but there’s a couple different things like for example, when I’m in a battle, it says I’m going to get a dream master shard, for instance, and I complete the battle, and I have zero shards for that particular character. ✓ Great gameFun to collect all the players and advance. Can get a bit repetitive. A few suggestions. Needs more shuttles. At least 5. When you have more characters, it would be nice to send more of them on shuttle missions while we are sleeping. For transporter missions that have already been complete, need option to auto skip through the text and auto advance through the waypoints, aside from the explore waypoints where you can make a choice on which direction to head. ✓ Early DaysI’ve played other Star Trek games and other team fight sims like Iron Maiden Legacy of the Beast and DC Legends but I love that this game doesn’t have what I hate about those games and that’s the pay to win model. It really makes it unfair to those who simply can’t afford to dump money on evolving and getting dropped from teams simply because you can’t play every other hour. ✓ A wonderfully done turn based tactical rpgI have been playing this for several hours and it is a really good game. The sound is great, and the animation is well done. Each character has a skill setup that matches them fairly well. The turn based combat and the strategy of using skills at the right time gives it that old school final fantasy feel.
