Townscaper for Positive User Reviews

Great game!A couple of days ago this released on mobile, (after a year of waiting) and I’m having so much fun with it! This will definitely be my most favourite game for a while. Great work!.Version: 1.01

The Only Limit is Your ImaginationI spotted this as game of the day. I like a nice sandbox game, and I don’t mind paying for it. The controls came naturally, and I had a good play to see what it could do. I like how you can set the shadows to give it more depth. Have a good play, plan and relax as you play. My only criticism is I wish the lights for the lighthouses would illuminate along with the other town lights when the sun goes down..Version: 1.03

Only game I playThis game is super relaxing. Whenever I’m stressed or anxious I just go on here and plop some building down. It’s really cool how it’s able to know the orientation of the different building and automatically change what they look like. Just like most people, my only complaint is I wish there was more customization available. Like restaurants or docks. Other than that though this game is great and it’s well worth the $5.Version: 1.01

As good as PC versionJust as good as PC version however only issue is PC version is almost endless this version has a limited map size which you can fill quickly.Version: 1.03

Favorite game second only to MinecraftI’ve been playing this game for a day and it is already my second favorite game the simplicity and touch friendly controls allow you to create what’s in your mind with great ease the only things I think could be improved is maybe like DLCs that have different building styles or something and the ability to walk around in your city would be incredible.Version: 1.03

Can’t wait to see where this goesNot sure it’s worth the price just yet, but certainly will be with a few more updates. Perhaps a floor painting tool so it doesn’t have to be only-enclosed gardens, and some people/pets to animate the paths between houses. Boats to make harbours will be awesome afterwards. This game is wonderfully designed and so relaxing after work. The grid system is so quirky and makes some wonderful shapes! Keep it up Devs! When I run out of steam playing I’ll keep my eyes out for an update!.Version: 1.01

Good but could add some changesThe game overall is great but there is a little thing that you could add to improve the game , you could add an option to add beaches ,hills , mountains and different types of buildings for example a docking yard ,parks ,shops ,restaurants and hotels. ALSO to add a little bit more life to the game you could add like boats around the map , people walking around, first person mode to have a different perspective in on the game overall..Version: 1.03

I wish there were more games like this!I found this game by random and I bought it and fell in love with this game. It is a amazing game to play offline when you are bored or feel creative. I really hope the devs keep updating because there is so much potential in this game..Version: 1.03

Mixed optionsI do really like this game and enjoy it, I am on Mac which makes it hard to move around, but i still really enjoy this game and do not regret my purchase, worth the money..Version: 1.01

Great game but...I really wish there were other ways to explore the towns we create. I wish i could just walk around in the towns ive made, the camera is effective enough to get around in the sky and build cities from afar, but it doesn't really let you admire the city you've built or get good views. Also there should be a picture mode where all options on the screen disappear so that all you see is your town for a nice picture that doesn't need any cropping.Version: 1.03

Gorgeous artworkBeautiful relaxing game, it really appeals to my creative side and the colours and the artwork are lovely, The only downside is I would desperately love to see a people walking around enjoying my little townships!.Version: 1.01

Love it!!! Here are some good ideas! This is an amazing game. Want to make a town on water, well, here is the perfect place! Its an italian or southern europe styled architecture town in the middle of the ocean. This game is pretty easy, make some paths, build AMAZING houses, guess what! There is no in-game money, so the houses are ALL free! Now, I know you haven‘t updated in over 8 months from the time I uploaded this review, however, I have some update ideas! First of all, STYLES! You can select styles. For example: Italian, English, German, Japanese, and MANY MORE! You may select this in the settings button and the houses and paths would immediately change. Second of all, LAND! You should be able to select what you want the land to be. Not only water, but grass, forest, or farmland! This may also be selected in the settings. This may help fit a roleplay. Last of all, ACTUAL BUILDINGS! Note being rude or anything but, towns have more than homes and lighthouses. There should be shops, barber shops, maybe even a supermarket. Its italy (during the time-period I‘m posting this comment), have you ever seen Italy with only houses? Thanks for reading!.Version: 1.03

Love it! Just kinda frustrates meI know the entire game is supposed to just be simple and relaxing but I kinda hate that it’s too simple. Like I just want a couple extra tools and buildings to decorate. Otherwise I love it and in no way wasted my money. This is just kinda my opinion. I also think it seems a bit.. Bare. The floor is always stone, the only way you get grass is by closing in, there’s like 2 animals available to see ( love how fat the birds look ), but I would definitely recommend this game to people who just wants a whole ton of simplicity and relaxation. If your like me who have a craving for a bit more design, I would still recommend trying it buts it’s fine if it isn’t to your taste. it’s quite nice but quite empty. I give this 4 stars just because it’s way too simple but if I didn’t have that craving for design I would give it 5..Version: 1.01

Good but limitedThe game is great but limits options. If one could start building on land as apposed to water, that’d be great. Also different styles or eras of buildings would be cool (building a medieval style city vs a modern city). Roofs are also quite funky because if you want a large building to have a sloped roof (similar to a cathedral) it’ll more than likely flatten to a railed flat roof. Really cool concept, I think just feeding the algorithm more options or even giving the user options to pick from for their algorithm would be very cool and potentially change this game greatly..Version: 1.01

BeautifulThis is a beautiful game. There is no point to it, which is why they refer to it as a toy; which is a pretty good description. It is interesting to see the different things that pop up. The doodads and knickknacks. The controls are very intuitive, which is awesome. Once you get going, you can create some very whimsical structures. In my minds eye, I see the people that live in the town: walking, riding small boats to deliver the mail or visit a neighbor. I’m not saying to put these in the game, that’s just where my imagination goes. Quickly you learn some of the rules. I’m not going to tell you any because part of the fun is discovering them. It would be nice to see different architectural styles. Not all at the same time, but choose before you start. Like city brownstone, or medieval village. The seaside village, though, is perfect..Version: 1.01

Great Stressless Creative OutletI love the design and controls. Color choices for the buildings are complementary and the building design is intuitive. The details are always fun to discover, like how details change when some buildings are closer together or bridge together. The little flags, birds, binoculars, trees, etc are my favorite part and would loveee to see more. I do wish there were more options such as putting in nature field options like grass or sand/beach blocks that work the same as the buildings. Also maybe changing building colors by tapping instead of rebuilding and different roof or a few building types. Or even different climate type maps to choose from at the beginning. Overall, finding this to be a great way to feel active is passing times and to have an outlet for my interest in town design and community infrastructure. As any free field game, so many options and directions you can go for and made simple yet intricate. 5/5.Version: 1.01

Absolutely awesome!!This game is really fun and lets you be as creative as can be. Creating little towns and choosing between all of the colours, it’s so good! I love everything about it. One thing I think that would be cool but not necessary, would be people! If you could add little people that walk around the town, that’d be quite cool! But even on its own it’s a really fun and enjoyable game. Well done you guys!.Version: 1.01

Amazing but….Now I really like this game because it’s simple and satisfying but I have a suggestion. 1.I would like to have little characters walking on the paths and going in the homes. 2.I would love to have a terrain tool so I can make mountains and stuff. 3.I would really really love to have little shops like when you build you can choose residential, commercial, and industrial and based on the type you choose the building looks different..Version: 1.04

Great “Game”For what it is, it’s wonderful. You can’t really consider it a game, since there are no objectives, no levels or anything, you just build a little city/town. It’s quite marvelous to look at, and really satisfying to build. The only thing I can think of to change or add would be a picture mode, where you can capture beautiful scenes of your creation. Other than that, well worth the money, I’ve spent hours and hours enjoying it..Version: 1.01

Is it a game or therapy? In the main, most games are fast-paced, goal-oriented blood pressure boosters. When you are tired of those or they just aren’t your taste, try Townscaper. Because there are no points and no achievement-specific goals, it really isn’t a game. Your pace, your rules (within the apps limitations, of course), your creativity. Some think Townscaper is more akin to therapy, and I agree. One thing I like most to do while I’m building is to write little stories in my head about why the build looks l Ike it does and about the people who might live there. Each section of “town” becomes part of a community for me. Browse the Interwebz for Townscaper builds and you’ll find examples of some amazing creativity, design sense, and down-right whimsy. If you like what you see, then get started! And tell all of your friends. They’ll thank you..Version: 1.03

Love it!I’m so thankful for my friend for telling me about this game! It’s so fun and addicting but I think you should maybe consider adding some town people! I think it would make the game so much greater than it is already! If u do consider adding people, I think that they could have some needs that u need to fulfil in order for them to stay on your island! If u don’t take care of there needs, they could be able to leave reviews about ur island and if the service was good or not. This is just a suggestion btw but a really think this could make the game so much more fun and addicting to play! I really hope u consider this idea ! Love this game!.Version: 1.04

I love this game sm but it needs somethingIt could do with roads/and different modes of transport to make it a but realistic, and it could have some ai people too.Version: 1.04

BrilliantI’ve had it for 3 days and cannot stop going on it! It is so immersive yet so simple, so calming and so Immersive. It is incredible there are only 2 options, either place the pavement or place a house but somehow it leads to so many other options, it’s incredible! I think the game could be better by being able to walk around your village and seeing what it looks like from a human perspective. Additionally, adding in more colours and more options for placement..Version: 1.03

This is something beautifulI’ve been watching the development of this game for ages and it doesn’t disappoint! It’s meditative and you find yourself getting sucked into all the tiny details in the cityscapes. At its current stage the sim is pretty bare bones. Only really one type of house with multiple colours. The fact that it’s still amazing just goes to show the sheer skill the devs have put into polishing this and making what is there runs smoothly. In the future I’d love to see things like Nature placements and specialised houses. Maybe different terrains to build on instead of just sea, like grasslands and deserts. Whatever the devs decide to do with this i know it’s going to be beautiful!.Version: 1.01

Wish there was a little bit moreThis game is creative and adorable. I get a lot of enjoyment building these little towns but there’s a few features I wish the game had. I’d like there to be a little bit more dynamic lighting at night. So the town looks warm and inviting. I also wish there were people roaming around. Like they don’t have to be super detailed. Just some little people to help the town seem more lively. Lastly, I know it’s a tall order but if there was any way to explode the town in 1st person, I think that would be very cool..Version: 1.04

I love this game, but wish there was moreThis game is so fun and peaceful! Its a great game to play when i want to calm down and clear my mind. However i do wish there was just a bit more, maybe different types of buildings and blocks, as well as maybe more colors or even different themes. Besides that I think its just simple enough and a great casual game to play when you want to calm down and chill out! Still five stars from me!.Version: 1.01

Absolutely amazing! This is so addictive, I had to turn on time limits to stop playing hours straight. Which is really surprising given that there isn’t much of a game per se. You literally just building a little town. No grind, no in-app purchases, no battle royale, no pay to win. Nothing that spoils the pure joy! This is masterpiece. P.S. Apple Store somehow lost my first significantly longer review. Shame on you Apple! Game deserves 6 stars!.Version: 1.01

Unlimited islands.Find this gentle game almost irresistible. Particularly like the surprise appearance of birds, beaches and gardens, and the facility to change the time of day. It might be improved by the appearance of figures wandering about - maybe a sailboat or two on the water?.Version: 1.03

FeedbackGreat game, love playing it but after a while it gets boring having the same types of building, i recommend you guys try adding more variety!.Version: 1.01

Why cant i delete some of my towns? This game is so fun but why cant you delete them? I made some towns that i didnt want to make and i cant delete them😡.Version: 1.03

It’s a caper in itself!Townscaper , it puts you on a mischievous Path from the beginning. It’s one of those Touchy-feely games (I love those) The soundtrack is terrific as you touch the Screen the buildings pop between your Fingertips. In love with this one! Lee Evans.—👏 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️!.Version: 1.03

I love itThis app is absolutely amazing. I thought it would be a waste of money as it’s just building houses but it’s really very beautiful. I saw it ages ago and tried to find it a few days ago and I’m so glad I found it. Only one small problem I think could make the game even better. When I turn to look at projects from another angle, it slightly morphs and stretches which is a bit annoying. But other than that it definitely one of my favourite games!.Version: 1.04

Simply WonderfulAnd wonderfully simple. Silky smooth on the big iPad Pro, the natural home for this digital toy. Really looking forward to tinkering with this natively instead of having to fire up a Windows VM on my old Mac. One little request — could we have 2 finger tap for undo?.Version: 1.01

Love itThis has become my new favourite game! the only thing that I think could make it better would be the addition of small people wandering about etc.Version: 1.03

Pls make the scape biggerIt’s hard to find a perfect circle it’s hard to click so many times just to make a floor and it’s sooooooo hard to even play this game, I’m on the verge of deleting it 0-0 bruh ☹️.Version: 1.03

Addictive in a good wayIt’s one of those sims that you can pick up for 5 minutes and make a few changes to your town, and hop back in later. Simple. Serene. I just wish I could walk around in my little town!.Version: 1.01

Incredibly beautifulI love playing with this when in high lol.Version: 1.01

Needs features to bring towns to lifeThis is such a fun, mesmerizing app but I feel that there are a couple of features that would make it a joy to play. #1. While building my towns I find myself really wanting to see PEOPLE walking around and doing things, ex: riding bikes, carrying shopping bags, parents holding their kid’s hand, etc. Would be so cute! Please add! (Also boats sailing through the water would be so so great) #2. Different terrains. Can there please be a few different land options in addition to water!! It gets boring! #3. A setting that makes the sun rise and set on a schedule, would be so cute. I feel that these few edits could really make the worlds engaging and full of life!! I would so love it if the developers could add them!!!! 💜 thank you!!!.Version: 1.01

Great game just missing that finishing touchLove this! So peaceful. Wish you could add different types of buildings such asfactory’s, schools hospitals, marketplace, farms etc. Would be great to be able to add people to get more of a sense of bringing the town to life. Love it though.Version: 1.01

Amazing but…I LOVE this game it is so calming and sweet. But it would be cool if you could add little corner stores and restaurants. But it is a amazing game..Version: 1.04

AwesomePretty cool game… well worth the price. Simple but amazing..Version: 1.01

Amazing gameSimple, beautiful game to waste time on making towns. Controls are a bit janky but other than that super amazing game..Version: 1.04

He loved itMy brother got this game and he played this game for 4 days straight!!! That is why I am getting this game.Version: 1.03

👍 two QsIs it possible to mod the mobile game, and can I expand the maximum size of a city? This game is great, thank you very much for making it. Much worth the money..Version: 1.04

Really great I want more!I love this game I have it on my Switch, iPad and phone. I enjoy figuring out the ways to get stairs in certain areas depending on how I place the buildings. The only negative I would have to say would be I wish I could expand the world and just keep building. The graphics are lovely and calm. I love adjusting the light and seeing how it changes the way the town looks. I especially love when all the windows light up at night..Version: 1.03

This game melts away your stressI got this games out of pure boredom thinking it was just another building game. I was wrong. I’ve been playing it for hours now and it just brings such peace of mind. Although the movement could use a bit of work this game is fantastic. Also it would be super cool or you could put your builds into an A.R tripe of thing. So you can see your builds in the real world and you can take a closer look just through the camera of your device. Love it!.Version: 1.01

Great experienceMy only wish is the obj export on iOS..Version: 1.01

Great game needs refinementSo the game is very fun and has very great graphics, it has a all around great feel and main idea but. My requests are 1 expand the outward border as my towns always seem kinda small and needs growth 2.the size and shape of some pieces add much needed flow or better feel but can leave very random pieced that stick out or are super skinny while also the edge can be nice a smooth or made of ugly squares that hinder the games feel 3.custom colors of walls and maybe some different roofs as they always seem the exact same, floors or paths are also a good thing to add colors too 4.some quick builds as filling in the entire floor is not a fun task and perhaps you could add a setting allowing starting templates (full floor, canal world) just some extra things..Version: 1.01

Amazing!!This app is amazing! I actually bought it for the Switch first and loved it so much I wanted to be able to do it without my Switch so I bought it again which I didn’t mind spending the extra money if it meant supporting the creators! I hear what people are saying with wanting to add more features like parks, etc. but I actually like how limited the features are so you have to really be creative and use your imagination. I do wish that there was a way to change the color of existing buildings without having to destroy a building and rebuild it. My only other suggestion is I think it would be cool to add a timelapse feature (like Procreate has) that records your progress as you’re building so that you can go back and watch your progress from the beginning. I think that would be a fun way to bookend the features in this fun, relaxing experience!.Version: 1.03

Low Stress Time KillerI really enjoy this game, is it a game or is it more of a toy? I dunno it feels like play for playing sake which to me is a toy. Please update with a version for tvOS and I'll add the extra star. Though I should be deducting stars for all the time I lose playing with this....Version: 1.04

GorgeousI love this app, it’s so smart and relaxing and simple, and it gives me a wonderful space to be creative without being gamified or driven to any particular goal. One note, I love the little birds that appear and fly around the cities and roost on the rooftops, but I wonder if there’s some future update where people might be added, just passively sitting or wandering around the streets. I’m sure that’s a lot more complex than it sounds but it would add so much more. Also, maybe alternate building aesthetics to the games main architectural style would exponentially expand the creative capabilities of an already beautiful game. Great job to the team that worked on this!.Version: 1.03

AmazingBeautifully designed and really relaxing. The animations and sounds are excellent and the UI is intuitive. It would be awesome to have a feature that allows you to toggle the birds; the way they sit in a cluster is a bit freaky if you’re trypophobic. Other than that, I have zero complaints and I love this game. It’s an amazing stress reliever. Thank you!.Version: 1.03

A chill appFor an experimental passion project this is incredible. It’s such a simple but very pleasing game/toy to play around with. All you need is your imagination to click away designing your own little seaside town. I appreciate the no ads, the little details put around or on the buildings and the little sound effect. I hope they do make little updates over time, because I’m looking forward to seeing what they add next. If you’re after a relaxing app, no rush, no timer, just a chill toy to spend some time with while you have your coffee/tea or to waste some chill time with, this is the one. To those who say you can’t delete a building/road just tap on it for a second and let go..Version: 1.03

Good but not worth $5While it’s definitely evident that a lot of work has been put into the game both graphically and conceptually, the $5 price tag doesn’t justify the actual scope of the sandbox-type gameplay, in my opinion. As another reviewer mentioned, if the app included a future update allowing the player to construct buildings from different eras and countries, then the price might be more justified. It’s still a fun game, I just felt burnt after paying $5 for it.Version: 1.03

Finally!Ive been waiting for this app for a couple months now and its finally here! i have loved this game since it dropped on steam and now i can play wherever. I know ppl want the ability to walk through towns but this game has always been simple and for that its so soothing. And though it may be simple, it doesn't mean boring. The more you play the more you see you can actually create literal art lol give the app a try at the very least youll find yourself more relaxed than you were before you found it.Version: 1.01

Artistic and FunThis app is really cool, and it's just pure fun to play with. No pressure, no stress, no time limits, and almost no learning curve to master. And there's not a set goal. You're creating structures by interacting with the screen, and those structures are interesting looking and artistic. You're able to manipulate the screen to allow viewing of your "town" from a lot of different angles. A big thanks to the developers for providing it to the public..Version: 1.01

Love this gameFirst of all this game is so charming and relaxing and I love that there are basically no limitations and no interruptions. I would love to see even more little details through out the game, like imagine how cute it would be if there were cute little lamp posts that lit up, or little rain storms or snow storms! I would love to see little people too, like characters. Not ones to interact with but ones that just went their own way and wandered around! Maybe little animals too, i love the birds. Thank you for a great game! Cant wait to see future updates.Version: 1.03

Gorgeous GameplayI never write reviews but this game deserves one. A beautifully designed city building game, without the stress of managing money or resources. Between the town building algorithm, the variety of colours, and the ability to change not only the time of day, but the position of the sun, it all comes together to make a beautiful game that is worth every cent..Version: 1.04

BrilliantI love this style of world building, easy to use and great results ! I’ve spent a fair bit of time on this glad I purchased it. Perhaps the game could do with a little life, maybe a couple npc’s walking around, apart from that I love it.Version: 1.01

Satisfying-ishDoes exactly what you see in the promo. The quirky grid means the terraforming is always interesting, and the algorithms add interesting detail. I’m really enjoying tinkering with it . The interface is really smooth, and once I discovered the long press options, I cannot fault the game play. Two things make me say -ish: -For some reason, I have no sound, and nothing in the settings to turn it on. -And, for all that I love it being open ended, I think it would be nice to have even a loose weekly goal, eg “a home for hermits”, and a way to upload a screen shot/ view other people’s interpretation of the challenge. In all, (if what you see in the promo appeals to you), absolutely get this app!.Version: 1.01

ULTIMATE CHILLLove this game! It would be cool to be able to walk through the city you’ve built or incorporate little people doin towny things. Super smooth and intuitive. Love it!.Version: 1.04

A “game” that is it’s own rewardIf you want to be challenged look elsewhere. If you want to be absorbed to the point where your worries can, possibly, be forgotten for a while, then this is an app for you. The function of this app is so beautifully realised, that you can easily “lose” an hour and not have thought of anything, other than where the next block goes. If you allow it to, it can be very relaxing. Like many others, I do have a wish-list of things that I’d like to see as the app (hopefully) is developed: nothing too extreme, as that would remove the simplicity and, therefore, the relaxed nature that it currently exudes. Slopes: One niggle I have is that the villages, towns or cities that I have built don’t look real, because you can’t create slopes. Without slopes, the only way people could move around would be to go inside a building, climb the stairs (or use a lift) to get to another level of houses. If you could drag a road/pathway/terrace toward another level, so that it created a slope, then the scene would look more realistic. And the people (both imagined and real! 😁) would be ever so pleased. Terrain: It would be nice, as others have mentioned, if we could have terrain. Maybe we could drag the land up/down, at the start of a build and, as soon a the first block is placed, the land is “fixed”, so that any more dragging is for slopes..Version: 1.03

Could you please add an ability to rotate buildings? The game is absolutely fantastic, but it would be great if you could add an ability to rotate buildings. Also, it would be amazing if you also add an ability to choose between the suggested possible building roofs. Thank you..Version: 1.03

Great game, needs moreI love the freedom of the game but it is not clear if the grid is set or if the shape of the ground depends on the angle of the camera. I wish you could create hills. I get really bored, the closest you can get is by building tall houses next to each other to create high pavements. Everything about the game is relaxing and creative it’s just lacking a few major ability’s that would help to keep you playing it once you’ve bought it..Version: 1.03

Pure, artistic meditationYes, it costs money up front. It’s not free. It also had zero ads and is a seriously polished, therapeutic piece of creative art. Kudos, Raw Fury. This is seriously funky. Minor note: the touch controls hints does not mention you can use two fingers to drag the view around..Version: 1.01

LOVE IT but… stuck in 30fps…Even with the option in setting set to off, the game never goes above 30fps… OTHERWISE… amazing game/toy/toolbox/sandbox… such an incredibly smart idea! So satisfying!.Version: 1.03

Suggestions?I really love Townscaper. It’d be great if shops, cafes and trees were added to the game too! Also, I don’t seem to be able to build floating buildings on the phone app like people have been talking about..Version: 1.04

It's simple and looks beautiful...Perfect for when you have 10 minutes to waste and you need to relax. It's simple and looks beautiful..Version: 1.01

Almost 5 stars… for this reason. I would like to be able to listen to the music all time… I don’t like music in games very often and I keep it off but this one is great and relaxing and it would be fantastic to be able to keep it on . Other reason for 4 stars is that it would be nice to have some upgrades, some additions because this is so far the most amazing relaxing game I ever played. Really beautifully designed. Thank you.Version: 1.04

I love this game butThis game so amazing and relaxing but I think you should add people so when you place down a house a family or one person or two people come out of the house and in this game you are trying to build a village, but if you do end up adding people into the game. Please don’t make it into a tycoon because I hate games like that. it is not relaxing at all. I love the relaxing vibe the game gives but pls add people I think it would make the game 10x better😃.Version: 1.03

Love itIt took a while before I realise the hidden features of this game. I love the simplicity of it and yet within the easy to learn building options, we can be lost in our own creativity. Don’t forget to admire your own creativity. Rushing to build and build is not the ultimate enjoyment. Set time to "smell the roses" is part of the beauty of this game. One suggestion: It would be beautiful if we get little people walking around. Perhaps an added feature where we could insert workers, tourists, residents, etc Populating the village with appropriate people would be a great addition. I would gladly pay extra for that. Perhaps another paid version of the game (please not in-app purchase). A version with people and another without with separate costs. I am happy to beat test it if you are already thinking of it..Version: 1.01

AwesomeThis Game is perfect if you like to create, this is the game you need just don’t do city that take all the space or it will take time to load the game when you rejoin. After this game is awesome..Version: 1.01

Amazing!, One suggestion thoughThis game is beautifully designed and so comforting! It’s a game to cozy up in a blanket with tea on a rainy day. It’s is fun to play around with the designs and to choose the style of the house. The only thing I would add is little people walking around and going into the houses. It would be alot more fun and a lovely update!.Version: 1.01

Visually beautiful and simple. So simple but so beautiful. Relaxing and creative. I got my family to pick where they wanted to “live”. And have different colour houses for each of us :).Version: 1.03

Good overpricedThis app is good for simple, calm meditation. It’s fun and interactive and has cute little details like birds and binoculars. The price is a little high though!.Version: 1.01

Saw on tiktok, Instantly bought. My one ask please! The potential for reflections of the lights from the building onto the ground, volumetric fog!.Version: 1.04

Finally! Most relaxing appI have been anxiously awaiting the release of Townscaper to IOS since I have a medical condition that makes using a mouse hard, but I really love this game! The game feels like it was made for touch format, so simple in it's interface but the programming that goes into it's complex bulding interactions is immensely satisfying. I will be spending many happy hours plopping down buldings. Thank you for making this game available to people who can only use touch formats <3.Version: 1.01

Great stuffDefintely a fun way to pass time, suggestions: maybe adding some stepped bridges, boats, and anime people and animals maybe even a camera flypath could be added to fly through created cities. additional object librariesas an in-app purchase?.Version: 1.03

Beautiful stuffI’ve been playing this for ages and am still discovering new things, like how to control washing lines, and making paths across grassy areas … you get an ornament in the middle if 2 paths cross. I don’t want much else, just a rule set for generating market places and statues. That would be *chefs kiss* Oh, and naming saved towns. It’s hard to tell the thumbnails apart..Version: 1.01

I’ve paid a lot more for a lot lessThe first time I played, I probably spent at least an hour crafting my little town and buildings. It was delightful and relaxing, well worth the purchase price right there. It’s engaging without being addictive. You can leave it for weeks, or play it every day, and it’ll be there. For a while I thought you couldn’t delete buildings, only undo, and I kinda liked that. Like a real old European coastal town that just keeps building up and out. Then my daughter discovered you can tap and hold to delete. Either way, the simplicity and restrictions are perfectly elegant. I don’t want the makers to change a single thing..Version: 1.01

Simple joyOnly a couple hours in and I have built the most ridiculous nonsense town and I love it. The only quibble I have is the default zoom/move controls are slightly non-standard so I keep moving in the wrong way: I expect two finger twirl to rotate and instead a single finger turn rotates, so it’ll take me a few tries to get to where I was trying to get to. It would be nice to get a couple more types of buildings and maybe even special “buildings” like parks and the like but so far it’s a lovely delightful game in and of itself..Version: 1.03

Love the game, want more…I really enjoy this game, however, I would LOVE if theres an option to have the ambient music that plays in the menu play while building. Another aspect that would make the game even more special is if there was an option to “activate” the town and watch it come to life full of townspeople walking the streets. Also adding options to change building materials (wood, grass, brick)..Version: 1.01

I love itIt’s really fun, I would like to see some additional options. It would be really nice if there were people moving around the town and more options for decoration. For example it would be nice of we could add a beach!.Version: 1.01

The time just passes byThis is a great exercise in mindfulness. You can just potter about experimenting with different building techniques and create fantastical townscapes. It’s so easy to play just tap where you want to build and away you go. Top tip is to keep the configure screen visible as it allows quick access to the undo button. If the developers are reading then here is the want list. 1. Allow the in game music to be turned off. Or even better allow a playlist of your own music to be played. 2. Bigger townscapes please. 3. Some kind of selective delete to allow redesign without having to press the undo button a hundred times. 4. A mini toolbar with the undo button on it. The configure screen allows access to the undo button but takes up too much screen real estate. Well done to the developers this is definitely a five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ game!.Version: 1.01

It’s Really Good!I was first interested because of the graphics and theme, but when I got it on launch is was surprised by how much MORE I actually liked it after playing it. It’s fun, unique, quirky, relaxing… just an awesome game. Can’t wait to see if the devs do updates and add-ons in the future. Like maybe different style cities and settings or something. Awesome game though, thanks dev team!.Version: 1.01

Love this game! It’s not as simple as it first appears. It’s very sophisticated yet very subtle and enjoyable. I appreciate that there aren’t fifty steps to progress or a new level, you simply click and you’re on your way! Very worth the price..Version: 1.01

4 stars for potentialI would happily give this app 5 stars if it had a few changes: 1. An option to add/delete large swaths of building at once 2. An optimization of the save map feature. You are unable to delete maps, and having to delete a single block via long press makes the ordeal of starting again not worthwhile I also think more features involving the building in general would be fun..Version: 1.01

‘You’re my favourite waste of time’This is great, and the developers have crafted something with just the right ‘pitch.’ No challenges, no pots of gold, no campaign mode. This is just a very elegantly-designed sandbox. Like other’s have said, it’s very relaxing, fun and absorbing. And I agree, so green spaces, trees etc might be a welcome addition. But not too much, eh? The simplicity of Townscaper is most of its charm..Version: 1.01

Highly recommend, worth every dollarThis game is great for just relaxing and taking your mind off of things. The sounds are great and it's amazing how much work they put into the detail! I'd like if in the future you could maybe add people walking around like walking their dog or something. I just love the amount of detail they put into it! Keep up the good work!.Version: 1.01

Favourite 'game'This is my far my favourite iOS release. Very much hoping you're still supporting/developing the app! Would love to see other Architectural features added in the future! 😍.Version: 1.03

Really calmingThis is the kind of game that just makes me so happy :) idk it's just really fun and interesting, it's difficult to get bored of it bc there's so many things to make.Version: 1.03

4* for Potential. Needed features.Very cool tool. Touch interface is awesome. Visual options are great. Most important stuff is done well. Needs: 1 - Ability to add a range of objects at once. Don’t care if it’s a separate tool if you can’t work it into existing touch controls elegantly. I’m happy to change mode. I’m not happy to build a big floor plane poke by poke. Just have the range extend horizontally and vertically separately. Or make it start with a highlight range by selecting points, and then having an extrude tool on that selection. That’s 2 or 3 pokes to highlight a range and a drag action. Add or remove. 2 - ability to delete a layout. My first one was me figuring out what the app does, not an intentional layout. Again, have to delete objects poke by poke, and can’t remove the map at all. Tried a long hold on the map load, didn’t do anything. Makes it not worth the effort..Version: 1.01

Finally! You have no idea, how long I’ve been searching for this game. Previously I had downloaded several other games claiming to have this free range gameplay, however, was disappointed with them all. Now this game is nothing less than superb, there’s no real aim nor purpose but I wouldn’t have it any other way, it encourages your creative side. The fact that where you can place buildings and pavement isn’t linear, really makes it so much more realistic to create your own quaint town which you’d expect to see if you were travelling through Europe. Wouldn’t change a thing about it, but there’s potential to add to it, an idea perhaps to allow to build docks or marinas, and hence have boats and pedestrians, but please don’t ruin the game trying to implement new things as so many other developers have done in the past. The price tag I understand will put many people off, but for such a smooth experience and the beautiful aesthetics and colours, personally I believe it is worth every penny..Version: 1.01

The only “game” I playThis is the only game I play. I actually wouldn’t even call this a game. It’s relaxing, creative, and fun. I can spend a quick 10 minutes building a city or I can spend hours. Could there be weather? Sure. But we don’t need it. Could there be people walking around? Or boats in the water? Sure. But really, we don’t need it. This isn’t a game to win. There’s no point to it, really. It’s beautiful. I love the way you can change the lighting; it’s gorgeous. You can build city after city after city. For me - it’s perfect. Thanks for building it..Version: 1.03

SuggestionsI think the game would be better if you could have a couple different building types not that many just three or four, one of them could be a dock that if you had the right circumstances would create a boat that would float around or maybe a kind of beach so you could build an island that wasn’t just bricks or maybe a different type of house that was wooden maybe if you built a as tower of wood buildings it would become a windmill but it’s an overall great game it would be okay if you just added one of the ideas but I would love it if you added more variety.Version: 1.03

Animals or humansIt’s amazing and I have no complaints except for one thing please add animals or humans it would be amazing if I could see little humans walking around or little kids playing in the parks.it would be nice if you could think about adding dogs that could be walking on a leash next to humans or seeing cats walking on the roofs of houses it would make the game a lot more lively :).Version: 1.03

Really funReally but a lack of customization.Version: 1.04

A little sandbox!Hello! I just wanted to say that this game is amazing! You can play it for hours as their just is no limit to anything you can do! I have been playing it for while now and I just gotta say, it can be played from dawn to noon, and from dusk to dawn again! I play it as a chill game, to just relax and calm down after a long day, as the calming noises are just perfect! A few recommendations. One, could you add a random color, like it would place random colors every time you placed it down. Two, could you make it easier to play down builds in a larger amount? I don’t mind how you do it now expanding the island would be easier! Thank you so much for the masterpiece and goodbye!.Version: 1.04

This needs to be a new standard of mobile gameWhat standard is this? The passive, constructive, world building type game. To some this may seem like a tech demo but it’s not. I’ve watched this game get built from the ground up over Twitter and I am so happy to get my hands on it. Now, does this game se feature-less? Sure. That’s your opinion. But this game isn’t meant to be that type of game your imagining. This is a relaxation type game. If you are looking for THAT type of game, Osaka’s other game, Bad North will scratch THAT itch. Now, weather would be nice. I’d love to see rain, or snow build up on the roofs, but it’s not needed. Once you turn on some Lo Fi, turn on some rain sounds and play this game, you will have so much fun. If more features come to this game, I’ll be happy but Osaka, my dude. Thank you so much for this! You and Tiny Touch Tails are killing it and I respect that.Version: 1.01

!!!BRO LITERALLY THE COOLEST MOBILE GAME THIS DECADE bought yesterday and already have wasted countless hours playing. hands down worth it. my only suggestion would be to increase how big the build area is. seriously tho completely worth the $7.Version: 1.01

Lovely way to waste time but I want more!I can see so much more scope for this gorgeous, addictive and ingenious waste of time. I’d love it we could add different types of buildings like shops or hospitals etc and then you could also have little people wandering about in and out of the buildings, up and down ladders etc, or pets running around…. to me it just needs something extra to make what you create feel like a town. Whatever happens I will continue to be delighted by this beautiful piece of electronic art..Version: 1.01

Brilliant for passing the timeIt’s absolutely brilliant for whiling away the hours without being challenged apart from what to do next. The fun lies in there being no instructions. Just touch the screen and see what happens. Highly recommended if you need mentally relaxing therapy..Version: 1.01

My opinion and rating on TownscaperIt’s a fun game it relives a lot of stress I rated it 4 stars because it is fun and I like the sounds but I do think it could have been cheaper but apart from that it’s good I recommend buying this :D.Version: 1.01

Good way to zen out for a bitIt’s a cool chill little app. My only wish would be to be able to have the camera a bit more free. Inadvertently this is a little tool I can use for setting up backgrounds in comics and cartoons I make. Just dabble around, screen grab what I made then use it as a base for me to draw around. It’s a lot more fun when I have zero inspiration in front of sketch up or blender. Right now the camera seems to move in a half dome, so difficult to have an up angle liking up at a skyscraper I created :(.Version: 1.01

Worth it, buy itI waited forever thinking the price was too low for it to be any good. BUY THIS, IT’S AMAZING!.Version: 1.01

Great game! Would love some landscapeAmazing graphics and design, I love all the little details. Would the developers be willing to offer some green land options? It would be amazing to build mountains and forests too :).Version: 1.04

AwesomeI’ve wanted a simple, mind-calming game like this for a long time. So happy to finally run across it. I do wish it had a couple more features, like creating land or beach before streets and maybe choosing different building materials, like wood, rock, brick, etc. But I also don’t mind the simplicity of its current design. The only reason I give four stars is because I can’t find a way to delete files or “start over” on a current project. There’s no way to “clear all” or anything like that. Otherwise, this is a beautiful, quiet way to pass the time..Version: 1.04

Good game!Amazing game! Only suggestion is that you could add little people and maybe water fountains or grass wherever you want. You could also add pre made maps.Version: 1.01

WORTH EVERY PENNYI have it on computer and phone, it is amazing. It’s the most interesting concept I have seen in years in video games. It’s relaxing, satisfying, addicting. Even the less creative person on earth WILL end up creating an amazingly beautiful world, and get lost in it for hours. The same way there is birds on roof tops, I so wish there were little characters to make it alive though. Thank you for the game you brought to this world, it is genius artwork..Version: 1.03

To Game Production Team: Recommend add residents or villagesThis is a letter to the game production team, l give four stars is because l want the production team to read it. But l will change it into 5 stars after I receive a respond (no matter the results are) I think automatic generate seagulls is a very good idea but if in the future versions, it can add a function to automatically generate residents( or villages) would be better, if concerned, you can add a bottom for that to for player to choose mute auto generated residents with clean view or open it. But anyway it’s a good game thou, thanks you guys who ever made this game, looking forward to see more other good apps like this from you ;).Version: 1.03

Amazing stress reliever! The game is great and I use it all the time to relive my stress and make cool cities but I have three nitpicks. 1.) The game is very out of your control so if you are looking for a complex city builder, this isn’t the game for you (This isn’t too much of a problem but can be frustrating at times). 2.) the game doesn’t fit the price tag (I recommend $3). 1.) the camera and city building feels limited at times like the build limit and the weird camera setup. An overall 9/10.Version: 1.03

What a delight! This is an exquisite gem - delight abounds at every turn with surprises too as it seems more feature become available the more you play with it. Attention to detail in sound, light, water and the whole process makes me smile so much. No instructions to remember, just pick it up as you go and let your imagination and design ability wander where it will. Can’t wait to see if other small treasures get added in time..Version: 1.01

Very good, some thing to considerWould be nice if they add people walking around or biking through the roads and into the buildings, just to give the game even more life.Version: 1.03

Beautiful app. Feature requestThe interface is beautiful and the towns are really stunning. It would be great to be able to export your town to a JPG or some file type in order to print or save a gallery..Version: 1.03

ImprovementsI like it and it’s rly fun to pass time but if they could somehow make a way that you could walk through the creations you make it’d be way better and have more colours.Version: 1.01

I love that there’s no winningThis is the most relaxing game I’ve ever bought. I was looking for something fun and tired of games that are free with ads or paid but still have in app purchases. Figuring out the auto placement of stairs is fun although I do wish there was a way to cycle through the options on each block, but if that breaks the game, I’d much rather keep playing the way it is now. 10/10 Very zen.Version: 1.03

I need a refund.Hey, the game is awesome but I need my money back, I don’t want the game anymore because I’m not that type of guy and I don’t play often so can you please give me my money back thanks..Version: 1.01

Amazing game with limitless potential.I adore this game. I have been playing it for a week and already logged a dozen hours. It has such simple and relaxing gameplay and a brilliant concept. It’s an absolute joy to see the Townscapes expand and transform as you build them block by block. As I exhaust the the dimensions of the game I imagine what a potential sequel might include… I couldn’t help but imagine building towns on a mountain or having the ability to terraform in a similar manner. Also, more inhabitants, the birds are such lively touch it would be cool to see other forms of life. Culture too, I kept imagining flags or iconography adorning the spires of the tall towers I’d construct. Overall, I am blown away with the quality of this game. Bravo!.Version: 1.01

Love this game <3I love this game! So far this game has been so amazing, it’s cute, simple, easy and fun. The building is satisfying and easy, and the aesthetic of the game is just perfect but I would like it if you could add an option to make the world less warped, it look silly and I can add area in certain places because of the world being so warped, but at the same time I like the warping, it adds a challenge to building and it does look great if you can do it well, the settings are easy and everything else if very well polished and perfected. I have nothing else wrong with the game other than the warping, i’ll keep playing the game with it and it’s still very fun. Another fun feature you can add is people, like little people that can walk around with each other and enter and exit houses, a feature like this that could be turned in and off would be so cool and fun, but that’s just my suggestion. The game is amazing I would recommend, 10/10..Version: 1.03

Calming and Pleasant to Look atI could play this game for hours. It’s calming and has a wonderful art style and it’s just so peaceful and relaxing to build these little weird towns. However, I wish there were options to turn music on and off and to have it go on repeat. I also wish maps could be bigger and you could choose what type of landscape to start on (you always start in water/the ocean). The game also really starts to limit you the more you build, like after a certain point I couldn’t build but six blocks up (it goes WAY higher early in). There’s also no tutorial and no “recipe” book..Version: 1.01

Great GameIt’s so simple and yet so enjoyable. No objectives, no unlocking items, and best of all and should be a given for a paid app, no ads. I love the simplicity of it, yet there is so much to what can happen to your builds if you know how to place structure correctly. I really enjoy this game, the only thing I would love to see added is the ability to build on land. Or if there was a land and water map. Or the ability plop land squares down. I know that starts to add more to the simplicity but while I really enjoy it, I’d like a different option for building on..Version: 1.04

Awesome gameThis game is fantastic. You can make whatever you want and it’s super easy. You can also change the time of day which is really cool. The only thing that would make this game better is if you added people walking around like chatting or in big groups. People walking out of their houses or sitting in their backyards. It would also be cool if you added different types of building like grocery stores and other little shops. I’m not saying that it would become a tycoon game but it would be really cool to see people living their lives as your building a city..Version: 1.01

Ultimate relaxation mind switch off gameI adore this game and I think it has potential to be one of the best apps on the App Store. There could be some improvements: - ability to choose linear grid - I want to build towns all in satisfying straight lines - ability to switch between houses & shops etc - add in little extras, trees, benches, all things that are already there but I’d like to place them myself - little meandering humans & dogs - ability to just hold and move your finger around to fill big areas in at once Honestly I could spend hours and hours designing little towns, but I’d like more control, maybe that says more about me than the app….Version: 1.04

Absorbing and relaxingThis is a tremendous little toy, perfect for when you need to step away from the real world into one of your own creation. The AI is wonderful, dropping pleasant little surprises into your builds according to how you interact. I’d only ask for 2 additions if possible. The ability to “walk around” your town rather than the slightly clumsy “pan and zoom” technique currently used, and maybe in the future the option to pick different styles of architecture to build with. Other than that, love it..Version: 1.03

Very cool!Great game idea. Would love to see an update to add different styles or landscapes (mountains)..Version: 1.01

Love itAll in all, amazing start! There are a couple things that I personally would like, such as a larger area to build. Maybe some new buildings, but going off of another comment I saw (I know this is probably a stretch for the game) but adding people sounds like a fun little addition. Especially if we can watch them grow. But so far I love this. The only immediate change I would ask is for an infinite world to build on….Version: 1.01

Hoping for an Update!I love how idle the game is, but I would love if there was more variety with the terrain. If they added grass/forest tiles, as well as some more options for elevation gain (hills, staircases), the game would be PERFECT.Version: 1.03

Love this game - however!I love this game, it’s so chill and relaxing. I would LOVE an option to save photos without the settings and colour icons in it and also a mute button? They’re just things that I would really enjoy but the game is still lovely and relaxing as it is!.Version: 1.01

Beautiful and relaxingI love this game and it’s amazing. It’s especially great before sleeping but one recommendation is: Please add a rainbow colour (randomly varies the colours each time without you having to pick them). This would mean you can just keep tapping and creating whilst not having to put thought in.Version: 1.02

Cozy Gamers DreamI really enjoy the sound design, aesthetic, and simplicity of this game. It does have a limit which I’m sure is important to the minimalist experience, though I do wish there could be a little bit more customization in terms of details and specificity in the streets and pathways. Finding all the new things that come up when experimenting with builds is so fun! Seeing tiny shoes and chairs and tables pop up in the streets is so fun. It would be great to expand upon the types/styles of towns you could built, like a beach town or forest town, and I personally would love a fairytale style town with mushroom tops or something! It would add to its replayability and expand its appeal to more people. Besides the suggested add-ons, it really is a great cozy game that’s easy to put down and come right back to without feeling glued to the screen 🩵. Please don’t change that aspect of it!.Version: 1.04

Not really a “game” but that’s okayThis is as much of a game as building sandcastles, playing with LEGO, or building block towers is. There’s no scores, no challenges, no competition, and no stress. It is solely a relaxing way to pass the time and imagine oneself in a simpler, more peaceful world..Version: 1.01

Love this styleThis is the best relaxing making city without any drama. Be cool if you could add ppl or animals, or maybe even design the garden areas, benches, bins, lamps. Put signs on shops or house numbers, or streets. Or add in little details. Like fountains, or statues… or foot paths, vs roads, vs grass areas. Or even add in simple sim style life. Like a living breathing city, without the bs of ads, or the mayor control. Just an AI doing it’s thing in the back ground. Where it just happens. Like the pigeons on roofs. Be so cool to do that. But love the game as it is. Makes so much fun just designing the city/town. Keep up the good work. And if you need to make a major change. Just make a Townscaper 2 so i can always go back to this basic style and relaxing design..Version: 1.03

Relaxing and BeautifulI’ve played this game for around 30 minutes and I can already say that it’s extremely stress relieving and artistic, even if you aren’t a creative person. If there was one thing I would change so far-if this already isn’t a part of the game-it would be to add a customizable GUI, so that we can put the undo and redo buttons where we want in the actual game screen so that we don’t have to click on the drop down menu..Version: 1.01

Amazing but…Would be cool if there were different architectural styles to choose from.Version: 1.01

Awesome Stress Reducer!!I’m not typically one to leave reviews, but I felt the need to chime in on this one. The game is the most simple and open-ended experience I’ve received from a mobile game. More than anything it is a relaxing experience of building a colorful town that allows you to slip away into designing a detailed canal or a multi-level village with stair leading from the beach to a tower. Totally worth the few dollars to relieve some stress and watch a city be built. Fan favorite is the random pigeons that sometimes appear on buildings. It really adds to the atmosphere of the town..Version: 1.01

What a beautiful way to relax! Was looking forward to this game ever since I first saw an early preview of it. The end result is just as stunning as the initial concept — if not more so! Highly recommended to just get lost in for a little while….Version: 1.01

Stunning, Calming, Uncomplicated GameI have unending praise for how wonderful this game is, I truly adore it. I’ve so far filled two maps. Although there is a learning curve, it is not too steep, and eventually the little knacks become second nature. My only suggestions for future updates (if they are planned) is getting non-building (or terrain) bridges, beaches, and the ability to remove buildings and terrain (without the undo). I’d also love an endless map, sometimes I’ve planned out a map and then been sad that half the grid has disappeared due to the grid being limited on size. These are only suggestions though and do not diminish my love of the game, it’s developers should be extremely proud..Version: 1.03

Beautiful and relaxing gameI’m in love with the game, I have play it for a couple of hours and have found that the limit is your creativity, with different shapes and sizes you can create a really beautiful and complex world, I’m an architect and I’m surprised with how much love this game was made, currently something I feel is missing if a way to export our views to jpg or png to our photos so we can get those nice views as wallpapers of share those photos..Version: 1.01

AmazingThis a great game to play if you wanna pass the time, it’s really chilled and has an amazing pallet of buildings and colours. I’m really hoping that in time the area you have to play with will become a lot bigger as it’s a little restricting, I’d also pay to have optional extras such as citizens, seasonal decorations, even seas creatures or ships that pass by. But the game is still new to IOS so let’s see what happens..Version: 1.01

HeyI love the game and having a lot of fun with it but is there anyway can you put a number count how many houses you put in there that would be nice little touch that way I know how many houses are there that could be a longshot but I’m just wondering.Version: 1.03

Zen city! One review said it was a simplified sim city, I call it Zen city! It’s easy and relaxing, with no municipal troubles to worry about! It’s basically tap and play. Create beautiful cities or towns, and then start building up to make towers or tiered levels! One of the most fun and relaxing games I’ve ever played! If I may add a bit of constructive criticism, I feel the game would benefit from a few things: Color change option: if we could repaint the buildings after they’ve been built that would be awesome(also maybe a few new wall textures), maybe a color wheel or custom colors. Drag and build/fill in feature: tapping to add each individual segment can be a bit straining on the hand, if we could draw an outline or drag to build multiple segments at once would be amazing! Also the ability to build new segments under existing overhangs would help a lot! Layer control: I tend to build tall towns, but sometimes they get in the way of my view when adding more buildings(especially when most of the grid is full). It would be nice to turn off the layers to maneuver the camera a bit. Overall, this game is amazing! The developers really did a fantastic job in creating this game!.Version: 1.01
