✓ Should be called Jetpack Joyride-Should have called it Jetpack Joyride- (minus). The game has less content than the original. It also does not run on the Apple TV where the original did. You’ve added nothing to the game whatsoever, taken content out, taken away Apple TV support and called it +? Weird. The only positive is the lack of ads but that’s a given with any Apple Arcade game..Version: 1.0
✓ There’s no point in purchasing this gameThe game is literally the same thing as the original Jetpack Joyride with the only change being a + in its name. The only insignificant changes are in app purchases being disabled (note this doesn’t unlock any content that would be purchasable, just simply removes it) and also disables ads, which you can do anyway by turning off your wifi. If anything, this is a downgrade from the original. It doesn’t even work on Apple TV whereas ironically the original version does. Just like half the other Apple Arcade apps, this is a complete bust..Version: 1.0
✓ Overall Lacking As A New Game or Even PortingI love the original Jetpack Joyride, and I spent countless hours in it. Although I haven’t played the original for awhile, so I figured I will open up both the original and the + version. The first thing I noticed was that my original record was completely wiped, so RIP all the skins and vehicles I have unlocked. Also, even if my old game save is still available, I cannot find anywhere in JJ+ to migrate save, so it seems I’ll have to restart from scratch anyhow. Then I also noticed that all the event items/skins, and add on items are not there. Since the original game is still supported today and they is ongoing events, I keep wondering why I should play JJ+ if I can get more awesome customization in the original (other than no in-app purchase). I really hope they will be added to JJ+ in future updates. All in all I think I’m having a different idea on what this game should include at initial release, and I can’t help but feeling a little disappointed. Between having to start from 0 again and no new exciting item to obtain (other than the base game + power ups), I don’t really feel very motivated to spend time on it like I used to to unlock everything. With that said, I do hope more updates will come in the future to add more items that already exist in the original game..Version: 1.0

✓ Game description does NOT match the actual game“Surf the Wave Rider in all its glory!,” says the text description above, yet it’s nowhere to be found (except as an icon to select vehicles). The preview videos above show a DeLorean option, skins on the S.A.M. machine, and more. As others have noted, this is a lesser version of the original Jetpack Joyride, with the sole benefit being the lack of ads and in-app purchases. However, at the very least, the text description of the game and the preview videos / photos should match what is actually available in this variant of the game. Bad form, Halfbrick..Version: 1.0
✓ Apple ArcadeI would like to start off by saying I love Jetpack Joyride. But, that’s all that this is. Except for the fact that you have to pay 5$ a month to play it. I really like Apple Arcade, but all the “+” games are just the original games. It’s not bringing back nostalgia, if I wanted that I might as well just play the original game. It’s still published and is for free. In other Review responses there has been responses of “we are just trying to bring back the original experience”, ok but like where did it go? Like bring back from where? You can still download the same thing but just for free! I understand that apple needs to have these experiences so people want to keep Apple Arcade but this just isn’t the way to do it, it gunks up all your new games with old games that you didn’t really even make. ✓ Lazy portI loved the original in spite of its free to play model. It wasn’t the worst around, the main thing that affected gameplay was the coin doubler which was a reasonable investment. This version is literally the original without ads or purchases, which sounds great until you realise they did not rebalance the coin economy so the grind is pretty rough, and to add insult to injury, I just got the loading screen message about how “the coin doubler is a great long term investment”. If it were me, I would double the coin values by default in this version, AND have a gadget available to purchase that increases them by a further 50-100% Also I think a bunch of skins from the original are simply not available here, though I could be mistaken, it’s been a while since I played and I mostly avoid (paid for) cosmetics in singleplayer games..Version: 1.0
✓ Game crashingHave been playing for some time now, but in the last couple of weeks, the game keeps crashing a different times. Really frustrating when you just finished SAM or gained a double coin bonus and game crashing loosing all your progress as it does not register achievements yet uses the bonuses..Version: 1.3

And it still hasn’t been updated. ✓ It’s a good game but it’s a letdown.JJ+ was advertised as Jetpack Joyride 2. This game doesn’t deliver on that premise. It’s literally the base game but with ads and IAPs removed. This normally would be a good thing, except that: - In the base game, ads only serve to double your coins, give you infinite S.A.M. uses, and other stuff. Them not being here means the game is more of a grind than the base game, and it doesn’t add to the base game because ads never intruded on gameplay in the base game. - In the base game, there are many skins and even entire vehicles that cost real money. The “Vehicles” menu button’s icon, the Wave Rider, shows one of these IAPs. Instead of letting the player unlock them with ingame money, they completely removed these features. Most of the IAPs don’t change gameplay THAT much, but when the Vehicles icon contains a vehicle the base game has but the rerelease does not have, that’s embarrassing. This game is what got me to get an Appla Arcade subscription, the idea that there’s a brand new Jetpack Joyride game out there. But this game is just Jetpack Joyride 1.0 without the ads or IAPs. I cannot recommend this game in this state..Version: 1.0
✓ Buggy and jerkyAm I the only one with the following issues? 1. Screen scrolling jerks and lags, especially when drawing zappers 2. Frequent crash and exit when choosing progress from another device? 3. Gradual speed increases are now too fast, makes the game literally impossible after about 4000M 4. ✓ Okay but with some balancing issuesThe game is the same great game minus a bunch of ad stuff, which is amazing, but the newer mobile game design philosophy shows its fangs here nonetheless. Since the game lacks all microtransactions and ads, all the ways to “speed” up the grind for events are gone, so it’s clearly evident they tuned these events for their free version and not the arcade version. It’s a real shame because seeing how awful the grind is to get anything on an event just makes me want to close the app and stay away. Still, I do give it three stars. Even without the speed up mechanics from ads and microtransactions like the coin doubler, the game is still fun to play. Too bad I couldn’t bring my progress from the free account to this version. But please, devs. Give this version a bit of a tune up to avoid the awful grind so that it’s just fun to play..Version: 1.3
✓ More pleaseI played this game a lot in high school, and I miss some of the features in that version. I do NOT miss the adds, but I miss triple gadgets and coin doubler. Devs need to make it possible to earn those features in game that don't require in app purchases. ✓ Missing featuresWill definitely change my review when this is fixed: I really hope they turn this game around. Missing features include Wave rider, event unlockables, events, Santa sleigh, skins, daily rewards, achievements, etc. Halfbrick knows what they’re doing, it’s all a scheme to keep the original game more feature rich to bring in revenue instead of delivering the best product in an ad-free way to their fans. ✓ Simply InferiorThe ONLY good thing that makes this version stands out from the free version is the lack of ads and even that’s a bad thing. In almost every way I can come up with this game offers way less, less cosmetics, no ads means no x2 coins or free revive, no in-app purchases which means less content. ✓ Buggy and unbalanced, odd for such a vintage gameThe original on rails smartphone runner, charming as ever to look at. Despite the age of the game this is based on though this feels pretty buggy and unbalanced… - achievements don’t work - SAM never seems to clock more than one day in a row - there’s basically no chance of getting over 4K distance, speed is a nonsense given the intentionally slow mobility of the character - coin costs are ridiculous compared with earning rate, there needs to be more reason to play. Other idle/iap driven type games have figured out the grind / reward balance, seems like halfbrick haven’t really learned with the times or even played their final build much. ✓ GlitchesAfter a few minutes of playing there was big white squares where there was supposed to be a zappie or something. There was a missile that did this as well. ✓ If you bought the original game don’t waste your time hereThere’s no way to import progress from the original game. If you spent money in the original game or watch a lot of ads to get free stuff, you can’t inherit them here. Even if you spent a lot of time in the original game grinding, you still can’t get any of them here. This lack of progress import made me delete this game immediately and go back to the original game. (Other Arcade games, e.g. Alto’s Lost City, have progress import.) The original game was designed to be a little bit grindy so you either spend money or watch ads, but that increases the level of enjoyment. This game simply removed all of those things without adjusting the economic. What’s left is the less enjoyable part….Version: 1.1
✓ Boring after an hourIt’s not clear what the distance goal is. It’s not clear how to get to area 2. All I see is there are area 2 power ups available but no indicator how to get there and I’ve been playing forever. The coin reward system isn’t calibrated well. ✓ Random unexpected crashesI love this game, having played it on other platforms for years now. This version worked fine for a while but more and more it will randomly crash. Sometimes at the beginning, sometimes at the end before it gets back to the title screen. If at the end it usually forgets whatever progress I made—goals, SAM runs, coins, whatever. I have contacted the developer for support, but their solution—close out of all apps and restart the phone—had no effect. ✓ Major franchise game that crashes constantlyThis just astonishes me. I have never seen a major mature app that has been out for years crash so much. This along with other niggling bugs (lost real-time events) just annoys me. Apple—where are you? Apple is paying this company part of my good money for this game.
