VA: Health and Benefits for Negative User Reviews

App reviewI like it because I don’t have to google search to get started every time saving a couple of steps. I also like how easy it is to navigate and see my information. The major issue is I can’t find the pharmacy. That’s what I use the most. Also I hope it improves with being able to message the nurse and others on your team. Maybe it has already and I need to access and learn more about it. It would be very beneficial if it used notifications and alerts like many apps do. Those would remind us older folks to check in and see what is happening. Thank you..Version: 1.28.0

1970’s Veteran Disability claim service in Thailand and Korea, during the height of Agent Orange.Having every Disablity effect that is listed for Agent Orange exposure including a heart attack with a triple bypass , diabetes , erectile dysfunctionancy , just to list a few life changing affects that forced the retirement due to exposure in the 70’s of Agent Orange and who knows what else after getting a draft notice. All documentation is there and provided. Yet l it’s been a year and three months with a few Generic notes which I conclude are considered communication. Yet projected to be a year and seven months before the first lower ranking is decided , then months of lowball Communication through the VA website negotiations for lack of a better word . This is ridiculous way to support the front line protectors of the United States and her citizens. If the VA waits long enough the Vets requesting disability ranking and payment will be dead before decision is made..Version: 1.36.0

App needs tons of workNot used friendly, too many redirects to get in, secure messaging is terrible, and the web version needs a lot of work which I’m sure you know. Tell less information and needs more information accessibility rather to make it look like a game. With the budget you would think you could hire some better programmers. I’ll wait a year or so before really using, if I do, because the desktop version gives more detailed options and you need a lot of work. I suggest hiring, onboard, or contract out across the spectrum of age and gender, (veteran and non alike) to continue to implement these new changes. Short version, the app is terrible and needs a lot of work. Keep trying you’ll get it..Version: 1.13.0

Veteran experienceHere is a sample review for the VA app that helps veterans access their healthcare and benefits information: As a veteran, I have been using the VA app for a few months, and I have found it to be incredibly helpful. The app has made it much easier for me to access my healthcare and benefits information, as well as schedule and manage my appointments. One of the things I love about the app is the convenience it provides. I no longer have to wait on hold for long periods of time or navigate through a complicated phone tree to get the information I need. Instead, I can quickly and easily access my healthcare and benefits information right from my phone. Another great feature of the app is the notifications. I receive alerts when it's time for my appointments, and I can easily reschedule or cancel if necessary. The app also provides reminders to refill my prescriptions, which has been incredibly helpful. Overall, I highly recommend the VA app to any veteran who wants to simplify their healthcare and benefits management. It's easy to use, reliable, and provides all the information and tools I need to stay on top of my health and wellness. Thank you, VA, for creating such an excellent app for veterans!.Version: 2.4.1

Convenient But Not PrivateI love the convenience of the app for many things but I limited and somewhat censored my communications with my doctor once I learned that other people I work with through other programs in the the VA were privy to and reading them. These people are not health professionals and should not have any access to private conversations regarding my health that I was under the impression we’re protected. It was extremely weird to find out and I immediately decided to wait until appointments to discuss things. It’s unfortunate because it’s a mental health professional and we had a great rapport. Not only that but apparently an assistant type of employee reads them before the doctor does as well, and they go into your medical records. This may be fine and even customary, but not something I’m comfortable with..Version: 2.6.0

UselessThe APP as well as the site itself is useless. The information does not coincide with the actual claims. When you call and speak with a representative, they cannot provide you an update based on what’s on the app and or the current status. Additionally, it’s a different story every time you speak to someone and they try telling you what is actually taking place and they cannot make any sense of the information or the status. Very aggravating/frustrating. I’m trying to get a straight answer because the app and or website is essentially useless. One information is not up-to-date or accurate..Version: 2.3.0

CareThis has got to be the worst clinic and PCP I’ve been to. I’m so disappointed and Frustrated. Being sent away for cancer treatment and ALL that comes with it has left me feeling abandoned by the VA. If so many things are going to be sent “out”, there needs to be a better system in place. Between the VA and outside providers. There is a huge breakdown in communication and by the time there is communication it is a much bigger issue. I’m grateful for the benefits and honored to have served but the empathy and compassion is lacking with too many that are there to help. Some are flat out “couldn’t be bothered and rude”.Version: 2.18.0

Can’t review lab resultsThis app allows you to send secure messages but the main purpose for downloading this app was so that I can review my lab results. iPhones have an health app that obtains your lab results from Myhealthyevet. This app helps you track your lab activity and can also pin specific results but for whatever reason it stopped working in my May 2023. I called Myhealthyevet help desk and the solution was to download this app. However, this was not a valid solution because I still can’t view my labs unless I log in through the actual portal..Version: 2.13.0

Useful but lackingThe app is very helpful in being able to quickly look at your claim status and any upcoming appointments. However, it is severely lacking in showing some of the same important information that is available on the website, such as any documents being requested from you, to be submitted by a deadline. Many Vets may not check the website on a regular basis, if they are solely using the app to check their claim status. Also, with the horrendous pace of snail mail notifications from the VA, having that info available within the app, becomes doubly important to be able see it in a timely manner. Also, it would be of great help if there were notifications, or if a badge icon would appear, to show that there is an update/change to a claim in progress, instead of the incessant checking most vets will do in the app, or web page on a daily basis..Version: 1.18.0

Great service but still a lot of work to do1) Horrible connectivity issues. The CYA boilerplate that Safari and Macs are not fully supported is unacceptable in 2022. 2) Looks like they used the Army M1A1 approach in building this app. They crammed everything into one space, making it ok at most things but not great at anything, while also leaving out features that all of the users want but that the contracting manager failed to include in the Statement of Work. I’d love to know what user testing looked like during development, because it looks like it was built to satisfy the VA’s needs and not the customers’. 3) More to add, will edit this later..Version: 1.25.0

🤪The change is too drastic and the appointment information is in jargon not in an understanding for veterans. The change was not done in an orderly manner as a result I missed a really important appointment because I didn’t receive any response until after the appointment and it wasn’t on the schedule and the social worker who I had the appointment with was a lax poor excuse of a person and didn’t even reach out to me so my PTSD has been unnecessarily triggered because I am relocating and I need assistance so now I’m getting anxious 😥 SMH 🤦🏽‍♀️ I guess in the end we will get accustomed to it just before it’s changed again. VA ACE = veterans administration always changing everything but all in all…I love 💕 my va.Version: 1.15.0

VA app/myhealthevetI like and use both the VA app and the myhealthevet website. I refer to it a lot for Rx refills, etc. My only peeve is with the appointment listings. The vast majority of my listed upcoming appointments don’t tell me WHO I have an appointment with. It tells me when the appointment is and whether or not it’s virtual or in-person…but most of the time I have no idea who the appointment is with. Every now and then it does include that information but, largely speaking, it doesn’t. I do receive the appointment reminders in the mail and most of the time the reminder lists who I have the appointment with - but not always. It would save paper and time if the app gave all the necessary information about upcoming appointments..Version: 2.16.0

Too secure to loginI needed access to app today but couldn’t sign in. I changed my password which signed me in just to have to use another device to use the camera to activate the QR on my other device and it says i don’t have the passkey that i can physically see on both device’s password manager. Now, they say i have to delete my account and recreate it. BUT, that takes 24 hours be it lets you initiate the deletion process via email. And who knows how long it takes to recreate the account again. So not only cant i access it today which i needed its is going to be multiple days before i can potentially access again. This is by far, the dumbest 2 step verification method process ever developed. I can’t image how many older vets or spouses just give up. All other apps that have my sensitive data use 2 step authentication but none of them are this ate up. This is the soup sandwich equivalent to password security. Unbelievable..Version: 2.18.0

Missing Explanation for BacklogI chose the direct review process because it was presented as only taking up to 12-months for a decision. It’s taken far longer than 12-months. In this time I have never received any status or explanation for why it’s taking so long, and eBenefits just keeps saying that it’s awaiting to be sent to a judge without providing any kind of timeframe. Yet, when I view VBA’s metrics, it looks like the average time for a direct review decision is still 246 days. I’ve contacted VBA twice, once no explanation was provided the second time VBA didn’t even return my call. All this and the news from VA is always just showing leadership patting themselves on the back and telling everyone how great VA is doing with everything..Version: 1.7.0

Is anyone else missing the "claims" link in their app?I go to check the status of my claim today and notice that the icon that directs me to my claims status page isn't there anymore. It tells me what my percentage is and how it breaks down but nothing about pending claims or appeals. Is it just me or will we not be able to access that information via this app anymore? It's a feature I used specifically because it was convenient, not to mention faster, than using a pc. How about putting our c-files online so we can access those as well? It would save an astronomical amount of time as well as material such as cd's, paper and all that logistical stuff that takes place when a Veteran requests their file. Just a thought. Hopefully this isn't a permanent thing. We need a "one stop does all" portal to use and it would be nice to have them in sync with each other. It would also be nice to remove all these third party apps that keep Veterans information on servers with poor security protocols. Lol this started as a question and turned into a rant. Hard not to do when talking about the bureaucracy that is the Veterans Benefits Administration..Version: 2.0.0

Need more detailsI think the most challenging thing behind this app is Veterans wants to know where their claim is in the process. This app only shows five stages of where the claim could be. There are also no details of what is actually the progress. I know it’s hard to guess when things will be accomplished but if you could see more progress throughout the app, I think it would be less frustrating. Sometimes it will sit in the same stage for months, and in some cases years. Obviously things are going through a process over that time, but the veteran does not see that only that it is in a stage or an extremely long period of time. A more detailed explanation of the stage process at the claim is going to would be extremely helpful..Version: 1.37.0
