✓ Good idea, poor customer serviceI had really enjoyed this game until the last two weeks. I had several instances where the main game and special events had reset my progress, so I had to completely start the “episodes” over. It was frustrating on the main game, but not a deal breaker since there is no time limit. On the special events (which are otherwise enjoyable, being based on Updog, Pretzel Day and similar side stories) there is a time limit, so having everything reset basically means you can’t come close to getting any of the rewards. I assumed Michael would have IT fix it for me, but it was the opposite. I have contacted them 4 times in two weeks, with the only response being an automated response saying they received my issue. The response since has been crickets. I even considered driving to David Wallace’s house, but who has time for that? Due to this, I have officially quit the game. Good news: I have freed up several hours to be more productive at my real job. Bad news: my only source for my Scranton fix is rewatching episodes when I should be sleeping. Recommendation: fix the bugs, rehire the IT guy Michael hates to keep it bug free, and focus the thousands of dollars I earned you with the nonstop ads and purchase requests to have someone respond to issues. Can’t load the game after the latest update 2. Almost impossible to earn in game currency in order to upgrade desks 3. It downloads the asset, then says I need more then crashes. This game has become unplayable. There are so many saving failures within the game. You move into the next level, win your Scottcoins, and then it refuses to load the next episode. So you have to restart the app. It then moves onto the next chapter but doesn’t give you any rewards. This has happened multiple times. The events are trash and are not even GUARANTEED the rewards you actually win. I got up to 13/15 rewards for the last event, Pretzel Day, and it just ended, and I’m not allowed to get my rewards. It’s immediately trying to get ready for a new event. This game is a waste of time and your mental health. Do not download. ✓ Great Game, With One Major FlawLove the game! Tons of fun. But very frustrating when you get to Episode 93, which is currently the final episode. When you repeat the episode, you don’t get coins from the Boss Battle at the end. Kind of makes it pointless to even finish the episode; because for me, the whole point is to get coins that I can use for events. If a person is going to complete all those tasks over and over again, doing the same episode. They should be rewarded with coins at the end, whether they’ve done the episode before or not. And when you complete the tasks in episode 93, there are very few pink boxes or boxes that reward you with 1-3 coins. so repeating the episode to try and get coins, that way would take forever, and just isn’t worth it. At this point, I’m just letting the episode run until you guys release some new ones. With you guys withholding coins on the repeated episodes, there’s no reason to even finish episode 93. Just kind of in limbo. Being an office fan too it’s great to see all the characters and different scenes. I’m progressing further into the game (level/episode 16) and I’m finding it harder and harder to achieve the missions, there is very slow progress on collecting Scott coins and sometimes takes days to upgrade desks and characters. I’m not asking for the game to be easier, simply asking for there to be more chance to earn more money or coffee as it seems to be the only way to progress but at the same time the hardest thing to get hold of! Maybe a selection of daily challenges with great rewards or a weekly challenge with a pool prize? I’m no game editor but I’ve played enough games to know what I enjoy and what I don’t enjoy. Additionally, I have to say I love the separate levels like office games and men in the warehouse but the same problem lies here too, very difficult progression and sometimes taking days to upgrade and they only last 4 days. ✓ If you like replaying the same thing over and over this game is for youI wanted to like this game. The animations are fun and follow the show. Despite my frustrations with the levels constantly resetting in mid game play I played through several episodes until I got to a point where Pam had to be upgraded to level 5 in order to finish the steps required to move on. There was no way to upgrade her without spending god knows how much money because her cards never came up to purchase with Scott coins and were hardly ever rewarded. So I uninstalled and reinstalled tried playing through where I would finish ever single card in an episode and get character cards with Scott coins any chance I could when they came up in the shop tab. It was going fine, took longer to complete episodes, but whatever. However, I have given up. I have now replayed the same 5 parts of an episode more than six times. I’ll spend 15-20 minutes playing between the main and bonus episodes. Go on about my day. Come back a few hours later and everything I’ve done is gone and has to be replayed. I love it so much I put up with the constant bugs and crashes but I’m at the end of my tether now. ✓ Absolutely horrible!I LOVE The Office, so I was pretty excited when this showed up in my feed. But it’s a truly terrible game. There’s really nothing to the game other than clicking to get cash, buying leads, automating, and repeat. And to upgrade players, or really move the game forward at all, you have to sit through an insane amount of advertisements for the same games over and over and over. That’s not even the worst part! I played the game for a couple days, because…you know…nostalgia, but consistently the game loses track of your progress. One particularly bad instance was me making sure to automate all the characters before I turned in for the night and waking up to find out that half of the characters were not automated! Keep in mind, if you don’t automate the characters they will stop producing cash within seconds or max a couple of minutes. AND this was after spending a couple hours clicking the collect cash button and watching the horrible advertisements just for the purpose of automating the characters. AND this was at least the third time something had happened like this in the three days of playing. So even if you like mundane games, this one is still horrible. It is fun in the beginning but it quickly gets boring and repetitive after a few episodes. The game crashes way too often. Just trying to open the game makes it crash before it can fully load. The thing that limits the game currently is the fact that coffee is way to hard to come by, getting through the episodes is a pain when you can only automate 2/3 desks which are actually low earners. Now, more times than I can count, I will play to a certain part and then come back to it later and random amounts of my progress is just gone so I have to go back and try to redo what I’d already done earlier. It can be really hard to get what you need to progress in the event ones. For example, I need to automate a character. Well, you have to upgrade them to level 5, let’s say. Well HOURS can go by before you are even able to try and buy what you need, so you are stuck, and don’t make progress in the collect certain amounts of money for certain prizes. I didn’t get the prizes I spent a lot of Scott coins on in an event. I submitted a ticket.. no response whatsoever. I just got so tired of losing progress and it being so buggy. (This is definitely not everything, but just some of the problems) it was so time consuming trying to redo stuff that I was kind of obsessed with trying to get it back and progress. However, when I loaded the game up today, my progress had been reset to a point in time prior to when I went to bed. Some characters that I had unlocked and upgraded were now not unlocked anymore. This means I have to go through all that again. I’m also finding that when an event finishes, I’m not getting the rewards that I unlocked through playing it. The last event (the pretzel day one) I unlocked most of the milestones, but wasn’t awarded the Scott coins, coffee or cards that it said I would. This is the second or third time that this has happened. ✓ Fun but never worksI’ve had this game for a year I couple weeks ago deleted it to see if maybe that would fix the bug problem but no and I don’t recommend deleting it if you want to keep your progress, I lost all my progress all of it so I had to start from scratch. Why I’ll tell you why because every single time, I click on the little event tab that takes you to the event it reboots or reloads even when I’m on Wi-Fi and I have all the bars I stop so many tickets because none of them were ever answered. I like this game but I’m really disappointed it bugs out even on the main game nine out of 10 times you will be booted off the game and it takes forever to load the game and it’s literally a cycle of reboot play for two minutes reboot again play for two minutes reload looks like your internets like Stanley or something along those lines, so I don’t know I really liked this game, but after a certain point the main levels are way too hard to progress on and it takes months to complete one episode. ✓ Have you given up?The experience of this game has been less than impressive. While the game is fun for the first few episodes, the cracks become all too apparent. The most significant of all problems appears to be memory usage, or indeed, memory leaks resulting caused by playing ads. More often than not, I will have to force close the game to get an ad to play properly. With a game that is solely focussed on progression through purchases or advertising, this quickly becomes a major hinderance. It’s all too apparent of memory issues, when it takes a while for my phone to become responsive again after force closing the app. Albeit it’s only an iPhone 8, but no other apps I use have this problem. Next it’s bugs in gameplay. I have completed “The Coup” (episode 24) twice now, yet I’m on my third play through of that particular episode. I should have moved onto episode 25 by now. There also other bugs which the developer has acknowledged, such as problems with loading and an inability to collect rewards following completion of events. Pretty poor as this is still an ongoing issue. Lastly, the support is mediocre at best. While my first ticket was answered in a couple of days (very good), I have two further tickets which have been opened for the aforementioned issues for more than 2 weeks with no response whatsoever, aside from the usual automated email after lodging the ticket. I can respect that these service desks support multiple apps over multiple platforms, but this is pretty poor. So there I was stuck starting over, a week later no response from their customer service team. So I gave in. I figured ok, just a game, no love lost, didn’t sink money into it or anything so, I’ll just start over. So I got to level 10 again and today there was an update. After updating it, the game won’t load at all. Goes into the loading screen and goes to a grey screen. I learned my lesson last time, so no attempting to reinstall it, and forcing it closed and rebooting my device did not resolve the issue. I sincerely appreciate that you’re not forced to watch tons of ads, but rather you can choose to watch them for rewards. ✓ Just not there yetI really, really, really wanted to like this game since I love The Office but there are a few too many bugs that need to be worked out until this is ready for prime time. The biggest thing are the hang ups and lock ups. You have to watch ads in order to double your money gains and also to pick up coffee and yogurt lids. The problem? Too often these ads froze and not only did you lose your chance to double your money and have to do it again but if it happened with coffee or lids you’d lose that AND have to wait for those timers to reset so you could try again. And the boss battle, I’ve only been playing for less than a week and I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve tapped tapped tapped only for the screen to go gray when I clicked the blue arrow when Toby showed up. The last straw for me was Kevin’s chili event. Tried opening it, hangs at 75% for a little bit, then finally gets to 100% and just sits there. I left it for 15 minutes and it never got past that. The challenge was based around the desks upgrading at a very slow pace and the card and desk upgrades did not increase in the normal multiples making for an extra challenge. My issue or basis that it was unfair is that the final desk which was open for over two days of the challenge never had desk cards which are cheaper to get in the store available to get nor were they provided in event bins, in the rewards for competing tasks or in the 3 gift baskets I got during the event to help out. I the course of the whole event I received less than enough to complete 1 upgrade which would have made the difference in conpleting all milestone and falling short. ✓ Could be betterI want to really love this game but there are some major issues. Overall, I love the idea of the game and it is a nice way to pass some time. The episodes are fun and the side events are great as well. However the problem comes with earning cards. I haven’t earned a single decor card in the last 3 episodes I’ve played and automating the desks relies on upgrading the decor. How are we supposed to do that when there’s no way to earn more decor cards? It’s very frustrating. We shouldn’t have to pump money into the game to buy scottcoins to upgrade these items. Decor cards should be awarded the same way desk card and character cards are with each lead bonus or in the challenge boxes. It also takes a very long time to earn coffee to pay for an upgrade on a card, even with watching the ads for 15 extra coffee. ✓ Coffee basketHad to delete and reinstall the game because the free coffee basket wouldn’t work and I was stuck on episode 7 because I just couldn’t progress farther without the coffee to upgrade anything. However after uninstalling and reinstalling the game that issue is fixed and so far it seems like it’s working. I did lose all progress and had to start over but that’s not such a big deal. Editing my review to add that since deleting and restarting the game to solve the above issue,I now no longer get decor cards and seldom get character cards so the game is basically useless. ✓ Some annoyancesIt’s a stereotypical idle clicker with the added bonus of some of the scenes from the actual show each time you complete a stage. The annoyances come in at the pay to win stage. Every so often there will be events to partake in. If you progress far enough you will be rewarded with in game currency to then later use in the main game. This incentivizes the player to either spend cash to boost productivity or to watch ads to boost productivity. This is where the first annoyance comes into play. The first issue comes with the ads. Each one has a progress bar so you know how much time is left per ad. The problem is some of the ads wont register if you don’t click on them, even though the progress bar is complete. The other problem with ads is that after going through one, sometimes it doesn’t register and you don’t get the bonus for it. The second, and most egregious issue is that some of the events don’t work. Each one runs roughly for 3 days and at the end you’ll be rewarded with in game currency and upgrade cards. For a few events now, mainly the office Olympics ones, upon completion I haven’t been given any of the rewards or if I did, they were different character cards than listed. It has happened enough to make me uninstall the game. If you’re a super fan of the office and can push pay the annoyances, you’ll enjoy the references but that’s about it. ✓ Very fun but poorly balanced.The Coffee rewards are FAR too low. I’m on Level 11 and I am pretty much stuck here without spending more money (I’ve already put $25 into it). I’m starting to fall behind on upgrades at Level 11 and would have to spend $30-50 to catch up on my upgrades because Coffee takes way way too long to earn. ✓ More bugs than any other app in history.For starters, this is only a mediocre game to begin with. The only interesting part of it is The Office tie-in. But it is RIDDLED with bugs!! If I switch apps or even open the control center, all the count down timers stop. All coffee, money, leads, and whatever event currency just goes away like it never happened. Sometimes I finish a task and tap on the paper box to collect, and it just doesn’t collect. ✓ It looks great but needs more workLike the title say, the game looks great. I love all of the effort that went into the artwork and into making the characters look like cartoony versions of the actors from the show, and I like the little dialogue interactions between the characters that are pretty much scenes directly from the episodes. There are times when I’ll watch an AD for a bonus and it won’t work, or I’ll have to restart the game several times to make visual glitches disappear. There isn’t a lot to do in the game. All you do is level up a couple things before you can’t do anything anymore (without spending money, of course), so if you’re not up for spending way too much of your hard earned cash on a this game, you’re looking at about 5-10 minutes of gameplay a day, maybe 10 more minutes if you check back often. This isn’t normal for an idle game, in fact it’s incredibly low. Other idle games have lots of side stuff for you to do to build up resources and add onto gameplay time. ✓ Needs more challengesAl a huge fan of the office I like the game and the concept is good but I feel like it is missing something more challenging. However there are still quite a few bugs to be fixed, for example I entered an event and finished some task and got some character cards, then went back to the main game for a bit, and when I returned to the event I was disappointed to see that all of my cards have disappeared (the event was not reset as the characters were still working, but somehow I lost all my cards). ✓ Fun But FrustratingThis game is really fun for an idle tap game—I think the fact that it’s The Office is really what makes me enjoy it. I play every day and I especially love playing in the “events” to earn things for the main game. I’ve definitely seen a decline in how the game operates since first playing it, and I hoped it was just a bug that would be fixed but it seems to either be more than that or the creators just don’t care enough to fix it. When I first played, everything in the game ran smoothly. Lately though, my progress backtracks a LOT, completely randomly and with no warning. At first, event milestones that I had completed weren’t showing up as completed and I didn’t get the earnings for those. Eventually, on top of the milestones not paying out, the game will set me backwards VERY frequently. For example, I’ll get three desks started, upgraded, with hundreds of leads and then the next time I open the app it has put me back at one desk, or it has taken away my most recent upgrades. ✓ Cheap and sloppy cash grabThe app frequently crashes, losing progress - including purchased content - with no way to restore. After several instances of this lost progress (and lost purchases), I contacted support (on Mar 24), and they have yet to respond (now Apr 16), meanwhile it’s continued to happen. The art direction is cheap and sloppy, with half the characters not even resembling their real-life counterparts, and numerous graphic glitches/errors. The game itself is also full of glitches, typos, and other errors even when it’s “working”. Curiously, after leaving one review, the app no longer loaded at all, and would say “30mb of additional content needed to download”, then promptly crash every time. i tried opening the app numerous times throughout the day, force closing it and retrying, restarting my phone, all to no avail. However, the last two mornings in a row (of a 3 day event), I’ve woken up to being displaced from a top 3 spot to the 5th or 6th spot by people with outrageous scores who weren’t even there before. It doesn’t mathematically add up for me. If I have 500av after 2 days of playing, and in an hour, a new person comes on with 800ax, but they’ve never been on the leaderboard before, how does that work? It’s happened two days in a row. I see the same user names around me who have similar scores and we fight it out and switch places throughout the day. But now it’s like there is no hope of ever winning an event bc of these massive differences. Unless the 800ax folks are purchasing hundreds of dollars in stuff on this game, I’m not really sure how they could get that high that quickly. ✓ This could be the next big thingAs a huge fan of The Office, I went into this with high hopes. The game perfectly encapsulates the vibe of the TV show and honestly works as an idle style game. Events finish, new ones start, preventing you claiming rewards from the last one. Game frequently soft locks where characters stop earning money. But the big one. The game seems to need to be attached to a server for some reason - presumably to prevent time-change cheating. The issue here is when the soft lock occurs, you need to force close app and relaunch. If the game hasn’t been able to talk to the server you can lose progress - I’ve logged in this morning to the Office Games event which I normally complete with a day to spare, and it’s lost all progress I made since midday yesterday - what is that about. Just store the data client side and upload to the server every so often? If it’s client side it can’t get lost when the game inevitably glitches. Don’t bother. Get Ad Capitalist instead. Tried and tested. Oh and definitely don’t spend money - the cost of IAP is way too high for what you get. ✓ Released prematurelyI really want to enjoy this game, but it’s so frustratingly buggy! This game feels like it was released because it had to be, not because it was finished. Despite multiple patches being released it is still almost unplayable for me at times, with events in particular frequently not loading up properly. I have quit and reopened the game multiple times in an effort to combat this but oftentimes I just have to wait and try again later (not necessarily successfully). The latest update has now caused me to be unable to open it at all, it says it is downloading new assets, appears to fully load but then closes the app. Once fully patched however this should be a fun game without demanding too much of your time, with lots of fun animated cutscenes from the show. I hope that will happen soon. As an aside, I would suggest devs consider adding a ‘do you need a tutorial?’ pop up before launching straight into the event tutorials.
