✓ Questions & needed changesSeveral features which are not in the boardgame instructions or difficult to find need explanations, such as bonus options n settings like what are the mechanics of “yeti hug breaks, advanced goblins/skeletons, double wandering monsters”? I also can’t seem to edit turn order etc after creating my party. What if we want to change the turn order at some point? There’s also some weird things like the app wanting to do damage when we use trap doors. It would be a great feature to be able to design our own quests, & I don’t see any reason we shouldn’t be able to..Version: 1.81
✓ Fails to loadTried to run this app on an iPad Air with iOS 12 but fails to load past the loading screen. Hope the next app upgrade manages to fix this problem..Version: 1.3
✓ Newest update questionsStill happy for the app, but feel like I’ve lost some of the old function. While some of the new functions either are missing or not working properly. After updating for the monk: Noticed that the app has lost sound Rogue skill- combat mobility (non-existent) Equipment- smoke bomb only highlights enemy (effect not active) Monk’s- speak with stone triggers treasure search (without revealing treasure) leaving the option to search later unavailable I realize that there has been a lot of growth with the brand, and that after the first release hasboro wants to make sure to keep ip more in the hands of the “buyer”. So I make this review more to help the community and not as a complaint..Version: 2.0
✓ Works on iPhone but not on iPad Air.Had a few problems getting it to run on my iPhone se version 14.4 but after shutting down all apps and rebooting it seems fine. A little bit of a learning curve. Got software update tonight so well see then. My iPad Air 12.5.5 I just get a black screen. Would prefer using it on a bigger screen..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Won’t start upGot this thinking it would at least work. Instead, the program shows a black screen for about ten seconds and the crashes back to home screen. I may have an older model that runs OS 12.5, but the app says it runs on 11 or better. Consider this to be me not recommending the app. Edit: Per request by the developer, I am using an iPhone 5 with an OS of 12.5.5. I am glad that they are willing to look into the issue..Version: 1.0.1
✓ It’s okThe app makes it easy to play solo. Helpful even in normal games so you can play (if you’re always zargon). Just don’t expect the app to save your games. In theory it could even track your wounds and character status but once you close the app it dumps everything. There’s also not an easy way to exit quests once you’ve completed everything. You have to, one by one, move the tokens back to the exit. Tedious..Version: 1.50

✓ Decent start to this app, but needs updatesThe app as I mentioned is off to a decent start, but it could use some updates for the following. 1.) when using on an iPad in particular, it could benefit from being in landscape mode. In portrait mode its not ideal for iPad to be in, and also if you cast to tv like I do, it would be nice if it filled the entire screen. 2.) Actions - You can continuously take actions which to new people playing may confuse them into thinking they can take more actions because the app lets you. 3.) movement - It appears you can keep moving around as much as you like. It should limit to what dice can give you and only be more if a spell has been used to allow extra movement. 4.) New Knight - the commander of the guardian knights need to be added in. Some have already gotten their characters so this app will need to keep up with the releases as best it can. I’m rather excited to try the knight! The rest overall is fine and again if you come from playing Heroquest and rules you can overlook the issues above and actually help keep things honest with your party. This app again is off to a great start, and I am sure future updates will help polish and enhance gameplay. Looking forward to the next app update!.Version: 1.1.1

✓ No soundI have the an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I’m not getting any sound on the app. I’ve tried re-installing but still not working. Other than that, it looks really good, just wish it would work for me..Version: 1.2
✓ OK, but just had resuming a saved game epically failSo far I have enjoyed using this app and, four days ago, I saved a game part-way through (something I had done once before without any problems), but this time when I tried to continue from where I left off four days earlier all that was recovered were the positions of my surviving heroes; all monsters, doors, traps, dead ends and furniture did not show up on-screen and when it came to activate Zargon’s turn the whole app got stuck. Unfortunately this problem has severely impacted on the usefulness of this app because of this problem. I didn’t have time to complete the quest all in one sitting and I couldn’t get back to playing until just now, and now I have a save file that I cannot complete nor even reset so that the quest can be started again. Update: Somehow that aforementioned problem corrected itself shortly afterwards but the app still has a problem of enemies being able to walk through furniture items and stand on bookcases etc. This is not supposed to happen so it would be great if this bug could be fixed in an update. 6/2/24 update: “Prophecy of Telor” has had problems with the 2nd and 12th quests locking up when resuming a saved-partway-through game. I’ve just had a problem of not being able to move the second and subsequent heroes (the app won’t even let me select them) and I can’t even answer Yes to activating Zargon’s turn..Version: 2.1
✓ Really useful, but sadly lots of bugsUsing this app on my iPad has been great and it works really well for the base quests. However, the add ons are really buggy. Kellars Keep would just hang in the middle of the quest and lose our progress and the rolling ball tried to add all the damage to barbarian. Frozen Horror has so many bugs including while it tries to deal with the changes in game mechanics for Yeti hugs or bear attack. The audio gets really annoying when you hear “whoops watch your step” for the 10th time in a row. Still worth persevering so we can play without a DM..Version: 1.81

✓ Latest update sucks!Been fun using this app until the latest update. Now the rouge’s ability don’t work on the app making that character useless while playing the game. Also pass through walls ability no longer works making that spell unusable while using the app. Sent a message to Hasbro pulse just to let them know and my message was read but ignored. Then I got a message to rate my experience lol. Over all I like what the is but super unimpressed with Hasbro's lack of proper updates and brutal customer service..Version: 2.0
✓ Needs WorkThe end turn button is just there to make you feel better. It doesn’t really add much functionality or make you feel like it’s does anything. Both apps are designed for phones. The google version is unusable on a chrome book even when it doesn’t crash out, because it scrolls instead of moves your tokens. There is no Windows app. I’d prefer to play on something large like a laptop or Surface. Using anything but a Phablet makes you fat thumb what you intended to do. The attack action needs more functionality than a tutorial of how to roll dice. On that, the app could really use a dice roller and the ability to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi link to other phones. It would be nice to track your character sheets and inventory, etc via the app. The existing tiny character sheets get chewed up by an eraser. The app would be better if it could link up like You Don’t Know Jack and then have the DM play from a laptop while the heroes join on their individual phones, iPads, tablets, surface, etc. The app is salvageable, but pretty garbage at launch. ✓ Doesn’t work on my phoneHad to download it on my iPad said was compatible with my phone and current operating system but every time I go to load it I get a black screen and crash. Once I get it running on the iPad it ran smooth but it has some issues good start need some work hopefully the mythic tier your maps will get put in or maybe even a map editor. also I like not having to use a DM and we can all just play characters.Version: 1.2
✓ App is okThe app is useful when I play with my kids, so I can play with them as well. It’s a little bit buggy. The game progress never has the characters or furniture pieces when you return, rendering it useless if you play over a couple of days. Zargon also could do with a lot more different phrases, even better would be audio descriptions when you walk into rooms for the first time. ✓ Really like, but…Really enjoying that I can play this game solo now, but please make it possible to move each Hero without counting each step. This way I could play the game more on the board, than the app. It would allow me to only use the app right before a Zargon encounter, or before spawning a new area/doors/traps/etc. it would make it quicker to update the current board status on the app. The app should only be necessary when it’s necessary..Version: 2.3
✓ Fairly good, definitely not greatIt does make the game fully cooperative, but it basically forces one person to be in charge of the app to manage the game or else clumsily have to hand the iOS device around the table. This app needs local network connectivity to be 5 stars - this would allow every player to run the app on their own device and input their movement themselves which would propagate to all the other network-connected apps on other devices. Both the zoom and scroll functionalities are annoying to use when on a phone and not a tablet..Version: 1.60
✓ Needs a lot of work. But funSo this definitely is helpful but has a lot of issues that could be fixed to make it better. Only one hero during the hero’s turn could attack every hero’s turn and it was always the first hero added to the party. That was able to be worked around by killing off monsters as they reached zero health but was still an issue. Occasionally actions would be locked as if monsters were near without any being within line of sight. The music and audio ambiance is actually quite an amazing touch. I feel the app could be drastically improved but is still quite useful in the game..Version: 1.3

✓ Good app but saves get corrupted.This works well for solo play, but there is an annoying bug where if you Save and Exit, when the game reloads the monsters and furniture are missing and you get hard stuck. Not only that, you can’t restart the quest over, only continue. So I have to create a new profile to start the quest again. Please work on this bug!.Version: 1.45.2
✓ Great to finally be able to play by myself!I feel like I’m the only person in my friend group who wants to play HeroQuest, so I’m excited to be able to finally be able to play on my own. I love that there are options for the two main expansions that came with the Mythic Tier (and clearly will be available for public purchase later), but I’d love to see the Mythic Tier exclusive quests in the app as well. Edit: I find myself frustrated that not only are the quests from the mythic tier included anywhere in the app, but neither is the Knight character. ✓ Desperately needs auto-savingThe app is functional enough for gameplay. It’s not idiot proof but it allows for a good solo experience. However, it really needs some form of an auto save function. Too many times I have I been interrupted, phone went to sleep for too long, I had to check something else - whatever and when I return to the app my entire quest is gone. It seems to only save upon quest completion. I have been playing as time allows which isn’t always one full quest per sitting so this app holds me hostage to my current game out of risk of losing all my progress. It almost makes me not want to play HeroQuest using it at all. It would also be nice if it was all inclusive, keeping track of gained treasure, items bought, etc., but first things first. For a steep price tag on the reboot of this game (overpriced IMO) I’d expect better from this app..Version: 1.2

✓ Fine StartThe app does a fine job and is a fine first edition. After two quests, here are some of the problems I have experienced. 1) The line of sight didn’t always appear to be accurate. There were times when the wizard was standing almost immediately in front of the monster and was unable to cast the “sleep” spell. 2) I didn’t see how to kill a hero. If a hero didn’t roll shields, there didn’t seem to be a way acknowledge that. 3) Movement of the heroes seemed to be a bit fiddle. The entire screen would move or the hero would be over sensitive and move to places you didn’t intend. You could always remedy that, but I found movement more awkward than it needed to be..Version: 1.1.1

✓ Good but needs more optimizationFirst give the app worldwide. There are people who want the app to play this game. The idea in this app is amazing but it needs more. Optimise the AI. The attack button must work. Let the player dial his dice move. Finally, I will speak again for the availability of the app. I am from Greece and there are so many fans of this game and it is awkward having the game release in every big store and not having the app. Don’t translate the app just give it.
