Frozen City for Negative User Reviews

Look we get itBeen playing the game now for about 5 months I’m a patient man don’t spend money unless I Have to even later on in the game’s development but I think I’ve come across a small impass with adventure mode and the daily chest. And events which are. A nice augmentation to boost the main cities I’m only on city 6 but I’m sure if I bought the $15 dollar monthly expansion I’d be in city 7 by now.Version: 1.3.2

Rewards are too few/far betweenThe game is impossible for any forward progress without having to purchase coins, gems, and diamonds. I just let my people die and play when I have time. You don’t ever feel like there’s a victory in any situation or city..Version: 1.7.3

RipoffThe game is clearly just a ripoff of frost punk and is a cash grab.Version: 1.4.5

Early PaywallThe game was great for the first “city”. Was basically as advertised. Then when you get into the next city you need to acquire “heroes” in order to have production. These are obtained through chests you can open, but there are rarity cards and basically these are obtained through gems (buy with cash) or with cash. I am on city 3 and now have a huge bottle neck because for the past week I cannot get the “hero” that I need in order to produce more of a certain good. Extra slots for production are locked behind the “hero” level requiring you to wait to get enough cards to upgrade them or to buy them. I will be uninstalling this game, which is too bad as I really liked the concept and the gameplay..Version: 1.0.4

This game could be so much betterI really enjoyed this game, but when it’s artificially making things harder to try and force spend money because of the lack of Arthur (googles the game and having his name auto complete gives me a vibe I’m not the only one) is very frustrating I want to enjoy it more. I’m 4 cities in and I might give up on this game.Version: 1.1.2

To many tutorialsHonestly from the cost to play this game alone annoys me but come on i know how to play the game why do i have to do a tutorial for every single side game. This game sucks.Version: 1.4.3

Can’t load at allLoved the game, until this afternoon when I tried to open it while I wasn’t home (thought the wifi was the problem), however, it seems to be the game itself. It won’t load and just sits on the main screen forever. If it’s not fixed at the end of the week I’ll be requesting my money back from apple. Happy to spend a little here and there, I am not happy to spend money on a game I can no longer access. Update: it’s been a few days and nothing has changed, can’t send a message to the support when the game won’t load and no response to this. I guess I’m going to ask for a refund and delete the game, disappointed..Version: 1.0.9

Frustrating..!!I first downloaded this game as it kept coming up on adds on other games I was playing. I downloaded it on a whim just to see what all the fuss was about. When I 1st started it I really did enjoy doing all the tasks and the battles but I’ve found as I go threw the levels I never get the hero’s that I need. I also found that I became very frustrated due to not being able to upgrade my buildings due to not having enough sources. As you level up it becomes incredibly harder. I can’t upgrade any of my buildings or work stations due to not having enough sources but I can’t help that because my men can work quick enough which is highly annoying as they are dying of cold or dying of starvation..!! I also found every time you upgrade your furnace it always dies out..!! What is with that..!! I’ve been on the verge of a strike due to not having enough or being able to upgrade anything. I’ve got to the point where I am wanting to uninstall this game. It’s such a shame. I really do think if they created this game but didn’t have freezing cold whether climates it would make it more enjoyable as I really have fun on the mini events they have that doesn’t require a furnace to be on to keep my survivors alive. I’m only now playing to play the mini events as I’ve had enough of the stress and frustration the main game brings. A lot needs to change for this game to be successful and enjoyable again..Version: 1.1.6

GoogagagaGoogagaggagagagagagaggagaghohohoogogaggagagagag.Version: 1.4.5

A great game until it isn’t.So let me start off by saying the game was extremely fun and rewarding until the 3rd city. Why the 3rd city you ask? Well up until this point the game would give you the much needed heroes for each building that allows you to unlock more spots for civilians to speed up progression. In the 3rd city they do this but for one of the middle tier buildings. This essentially gimps you from making even the slowest of progress. I can only assume this is one of two things. A money making tool to force a player to spend money on the loot boxes in game in hopes of getting said hero or it’s a bug. I’m really hoping it’s just a bug because this has stopped my progression for multiple days now just hoping that finishing up some of the quests will finally give me a quest to unlock the hero needed to start making progress. Iv upgraded almost every building but the one needed has still been stuck at 1 civilian making upgrading any further actually impossible..Version: 1.0.6

Honest observationsThe game is really well made it looks great. It operates brilliantly The concept is wonderful the game plays well. It does, however, have one glitch it will not give you the opportunity to get certain heroes. So certain elements of the gameplay will fail as it wants you to buy those heroes. And I hate games that I just there to make money..Version: 1.0.6

Fun at first but VERY DISAPPOINTEDI was amazed by this game, until I reached higher level. when you start a new village, food \ carbon are a problem because the hero isn’t available or too low and you can’t produce the food, and the villagers die.. SO, you have to pay for the hero or impossible upgrade of heroes. if not, it is impossible to succeed in that game. MONEY MONEY MONEY.. GREEDY game\dev. Furthermore, the monthly fees are ridiculously high. i am rally disappointed… don’t bother install this game thank you.Version: 1.6.3

Could be greatNot a free to play game, if you want to survive (let alone thrive) you need to be extraordinarily lucky or spend a lot ($10+ per level). Each level adds characters unnecessarily just to require you to buy new ones. Why can’t my cook/doctor from the last level continue in the next level? Why do I have a ton of extra of the character I haven’t seen in 2 levels but can’t get the character used in the last 3 levels? Started very promising but became very irritating..Version: 1.1.5

Started off well…..Really enjoyed this to begin with, however, as you progress, the factories that produce the goods you need to upgrade your buildings need to be manned by heroes. You get the heroes from chests and receive the heroes you need in the early chapters, but the further you get, the more heroes you need and you don’t get them unless, I assume, you pay, but I won’t be finding out. You can still progress at a snails pace without the heroes you need, but you have to manage your manning levels and wait days to get enough resources. It’s a shame, as O was enjoying it, but it’s far too much effort / waiting time now..Version: 1.0.9

Blocked by heroesAfter playing the game for a while, I really enjoyed the concept of it and enjoyed the early stages of the game. However, the game very quickly became way too difficult to progress and I was being blocked by how little opportunity there is to get heroes, never mind d the new heroes that are needed for each city. I refuse to spend money on the game as it isn’t even a guarantee I will get the hero I need as the game is entirely based upon how lucky you are with the free chests you get every 8 hours. I ended up neglecting my progress and focused on the limited time events as it felt like I was actually progressing in something, but I soon got hit with the sad reality of getting 2 hero cards I don’t need. It saddens me to say I won’t be returning to the game if it remains this difficult to acquire heroes as I have really enjoyed the early game and want to play more, but I just can’t..Version: 1.4.5

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great game butThis game is so heavily dependent on the heroes I’ve been stuck on city 3 for the past week. I understand it’s an idle game but truth be told there’s nothing fun in returning just to find out you barely have any more items than you did the last time you logged in. The people on the discord server are of no help either and act as if everything is all rainbows and cupcakes, boasting about how they made it without paying, especially because they’ve seen the multiple people who complain about not being able to collect the heroes too. I’ve gone without Sophia in city 3 for so long and it’s getting to the point even foundry 2 has progressed a lot more. It’s so bad and the survivors have paused multiple times because there wasn’t enough resources to continue production. There is currently only one survivor working in the first foundry and I don’t have the patience to wait until every event to get a chest or card, just to find out it isn’t even the card that I need. Don’t bother with the “thank you for feedback and if you have more you can email us” because I will tell you right here. Stop making the game so focused on the heroes because you’re intensely slowing down gameplay for not just me but for multiple other players. I’d rather have more upgrades and longer building times than have to sit and wait for days just to never end up getting the card I need..Version: 1.0.9

Disappointing Customer SupportThe game is really cool, I like the story and the whole idea behind it but what an awful customer service… I bought a Skip Minute literally seconds (16:59:59 as advised by customer service) before the end of an event to be rank 1 as was not too far behind the current rank 1. The diamonds were deducted from my account but the purchase wasn’t taken into account as the leaderboard didn’t update accordingly. I contacted them to have my diamonds refunded as it was clearly not taken into account here, after multiple messages, I was told that the resources were added to my account so they couldn’t refund the diamonds. I provided them with pictures of before and after the purchase where you could clearly see nothing happened and they just advised that the rank 1 player bout a Skip Minutes a few minutes before the event ends. Which is indeed shown on my screenshots. To sum up, there’s an issue, I’ve got proof I provided them with, they didn’t understand the problem and didn’t even try to understand but thanked me for my feedback. Terrible Customer Support….Version: 1.0.9

To bad they are so greedyI like the game and could be persuaded to buy some In game features. That said, I’m a day or so away from deleting it as it’s too focused on big price items that should be attainable in game play..Version: 1.6.3

Fun game but impossible to get cardsYou won’t be able to move forward or progress if you don’t pay . It’ll take a long time to earn enough diamonds to buy 350 diamond chests to obtain the next card . Deleted it pretty after a few days . It was a great concept though.Version: 1.0.3

Frostpunk? This is pretty much a shameless rip of the PC game galled Frostpunk. Except in that game there isn’t paywalls lol.Version: 1.1.3

After playing 1 yearSo I have played for just over a year.. I am on city zone 19, so here are my thoughts. Game play dose not change after first city, rinse and repeat forever. They added the events but they are basically the same as the city play. Don’t bother trying to get in the top 3, I saved all crystals for 4 months, and spent around 6500 on one event, was way up on the leaderboard then within an hour I was 4th, which after a year of playing I don’t see as possible of somebody surpassing that fast. I suspect the company places bots to displace players, hoping they then buy more gems. Or people have found a way to cheat. Anyway stay clear not worth your time..Version: 1.8.1

Hero system is bricked to make you payThe current hero system blocks progress early in the game. City 3 takes about 10x times to complete vs. cities 1 and 2. On City 4, things get worse as not only you’re missing 1 vital hero (that you wont be able to get unless you pay), but you have almost ALL heroes blocked by a paywall gimmick. The chest system is also to be reviewed as it always aims towards the lowest possible rewards. I thought this game was made by honest developers who didn’t want to make a paywall based game, but I was wrong when I progressed ever so slightly. Please review the hero system and rewards system as they do not allow proper progress in this game’s current version..Version: 1.0.6

Early Stage FUN, soon Serious ProblemsI agree with all other reviews. At the beginning it’s super fun. Then, it becomes too needlessly difficult and boring as you wait to randomly get heroes that you NEED to complete levels. Also, the cost to build and the time to build (over an hour) becomes another reason to turn the game off and find one that is less torturous. The developers clearly want you to purchase access to heroes and ways to speed up time. It’s very heavy handed and not appreciated. Personally, I’m at a point where I’ve waited three real time days to get enough resources to move incrementally forward. This is not fun. It is arduous. *Case in point: playing 3 days on this new level, but desperately need the greenhouse hero. Had countless opportunities to get this hero (purchased suitcases with my existing diamonds & general play has yielded maybe 10 opportunities to get this specific hero… but no. The game WILL NOT give me this hero). Greenhouse w/o hero makes 18 potatoes. Kitchen needs 700 potatoes per meal. Characters are starving. This has been happening for three days. Simply can’t feed. This is zero fun..Version: 1.2.4

Too reliant on heroesI like this game and most of its mechanics. The major problem I have is that the heroes are required starting in city 3 just to make progress. The hero’s level limits how many people can work a job in a building. This would be fine in my opinion, if it didn’t affect food. Without a hero in city 4, I cannot get more than one person collecting food, and the amount they gather without the hero’s multiplier is abysmal. The people are starving to death and not able to get resources I need to advance the greenhouse either. Why not just wait it out in this city and get the hero, and all will be well from then on? That’s because when you advance to another city down the line, there’s a new hero you need of a higher rarity. Now you’re back with the same problem, with an even lower chance of getting the hero you need from the free box, and I do the one free box a day and the one that’s free from an ad. It feels like a forceful cash-grab to get you to buy premium currency and open boxes..Version: 1.4.5

Decent game but tries to force purchasesYeah it’s a fun game for about the first 2/3 cities then you no longer get the guaranteed heroes you need to actually run any of the bases in the city. I’ve been trying for like 4 days and I haven’t gotten a single of the 2 heroes I need to run the bases in game so I can actually progress. The loot boxes are overly expensive same with all in-app purchases for the game and you can’t really progress or do anything without the heroes. I’m going to give this game a few more days but I definitely won’t be spending a cent on it. 1 star because of how much it tries to push in-app-purchases.Version: 1.1.3

Greed ruins actual fun strategy and gameplayThe strategy of villager, building, and resource management is fun. The hero monetization makes it less fun as when you get to level 3, the game makes it extremely hard to acquire the necessary heroes to keep progressing at a reasonable pace. The “Last Austimn” limited time mode should be more or less how the main game functions where instead of hoping to acquire heroes via loot boxes, you have all the buildings and heroes available, with a limited amount of heroes which requires you to be more strategic in what you have your villagers work on and the order in which you upgrade your buildings and production. I was initially writing a whole essay of a review with a lot of detail, but me switching from game to App Store multiple times deleted my whole review. So this review is a lot more brief and I am not giving examples as to why I’m making these claims..Version: 1.0.10

Good game but a cash grab.I really enjoy playing this but it looks like you have to pay on each level except the first one. I purchased an $8.99 pack to get a missing hero so I could use a factory on the second level. Have been playing the third level and no matter what can’t get Sophia from the free chests but she’s sitting in the store there for $8.99. If you think people are going to pay this price for each level you are dreaming…..Version: 1.0.9

The p2w bottlenecking is really egregious here.Like many other reviews, the third city has a massive bottleneck in that you need a whole new crew of heroes to get production running. Previous cities unlocked heroes as you completed tasks but this one requires either waiting to get them out of free chests every 8 hours or so or buying chests or heroes in packs. The chances of getting the heroes you need for production out of the free packs are very, very low. You will get a lot of heroes you already have and aren’t in production. The push to pay is really hamfisted and introduces fake difficulty through a money wall rather than any actual difficulty or balance. I’m hoping the game lets up after this city and doesn’t introduce another crew of production heroes in city 4 because I’m not playing another week of box opening simulator. There needs to be a way to earn the new production heroes that isn’t luck-based. Put tokens in the fighting modes as rewards or something that doesn’t require chests and rng..Version: 1.0.6

Frostpunk inspired turned doodooThe game is very obviously inspired by Frostpunk, the big furnace in the middle as the giveaway. The first little town did a decent job at explaining how the game worked and I genuinely felt like I enjoyed the game. I played it for the next two hours. But In the second city, things felt like they’re were going too smoothly. It being a Frostpunk inspired game, I expected a random event to pop up that I had to overcome, instead they introduced heroes… Once each structure reaches a certain level it needs a hero, also a certain level, otherwise workers cannot be slotted in to help with production. They do a good job at giving you all the necessary heroes for the second city as you need them, but the game identifying as such won’t be so nice for the third city. That’s when you really have to cough up money to maintain these heroes and help your survivors survive. What a lame twist of the game that inspired it. Just go play Frostpunk instead..Version: 1.0.4

Great Game RuinedWhere do I start. I have played this game for about a year and I am done. It used to be a great game, but the devs have ruined it. I am pretty far on the cities and it is almost impossible to progress without serious money. In some ways that was acceptable as there were the mini games that you could use to get heroes etc but these have been ruined. They used to be fairly simple and you could complete or get a reasonable way through and get some great rewards and they kept you interested while the main game plodded on. I understand the need to tweak and change to keep players’ interest, but these have gone too far. They are horribly complicated, I am reasonably intelligent and I have not got a clue how to progress fast. Elden is one of the worst, I didn’t even bother this time. They have done something similar to the fish farm. The fur farm gives me the chills and again is too complicated, Vain castle is OK but the old version was better. Finally on the main game you used to know how close you were to finishing a city, you can’t even tell now. I am happy to have block tasks, but there should also be an overall running total. The costs for no ads and speed ups for the mini games are way too high, have they never heard of the elasticity of demand? As I said I am done, when I complete my current city I will delete the game. It is a shame as it used to be great..Version: 1.6.3

Bottlenecks require money to continue playIt rapidly reaches a point where you have to drop cash into the app to get any forward progress. The latest event in particular actively forces a deadlock where it is impossible to progress beyond a certain point without paying for upgrades. While the ads are less intrusive and mostly opt in; they only take you so far. Kinda reached the point where.Version: 1.2.4

Great but…This game lives up to the ad that was advertised until city 3. I need two hero’s that I just cannot get unless I spend real money and even then it’s a chance I will get them. I won’t spend real money. I love this game but I’m stuck. I’m about to give up because I just can’t get any further. Please fix it.Version: 1.1.2

Pretty much pay to playAs much as I enjoy the game, noticed that from level 3 you pretty much have to purchase hero’s to be able to progress 😮‍💨😬😬.Version: 1.0.10

Game becomes boringStarted the game and it was quite fun. It has become monotonous and boring. Same type of game play as others I have played, it seems you go around in circles to achieve a goal and once you progress to other cities (which is the same as when you start) it takes forever to get points or resources to upgrade. The only reason I gave it a 3 star rating and not less is that it was still fun in the beginning. Now have other issues: made a purchase, was over charged and the invoice showed other purchases which I did not make. So basically they say “not my problem”. Anyway - I have deleted the game. Nothing exciting. Monotonous and uneventful game, even though it started ok. Now in a 12 hour period you advance by 1 unit on an average of 4 areas to upgrade. It has reduced to a 1 star rating..Version: 1.4.4

Pay blocksGame is good however Once you reach city 3 you’re pretty much stuffed without buying unless you wait like 1 week or so to build up I can already see city 4 being a dead pay wall With little to no advancement I would suggest instead of blocking players from the progression why not add extra skins or features?.Version: 1.0.6

A game to generate addictsThis game definitely hits all the addiction hotspots. I think the games sole purpose is to get you addicted to the repetitive actions of growth. Give you nice little dopamine hits along the way, then give you dopamines withdrawals to encourage you to get the in-app purchases. All the sounds in the game is like walking through a casino. This can’t be healthy. Besides that, the artistic style of the game is awesome, and the general theme and events are great. I just don’t like that it’s requiring my brain in the process..Version: 1.1.6

Paywall trapThis game is good for the first 2 cities but any progression is stalled once you hit the third city as you don’t get the hero cards you need unless you pay $15+ and I’m not going to spend money on essentially a time waster game. I’d rather just delete it and find something that’s not trying to scam me. Pleas fix your game..Version: 1.0.6

Good game butGood game until you get to city 2, you must get certain hero’s to be able to progress or you get stuck in a never ending loop. And to get the hero I require I have to use money, and even then I’m not guaranteed to get the hero I need. Please fix this feature somehow..Version: 1.1.3

Pay to play!Ok to begin with, I love the concept of this game. It’s really good to play. But after you pass the 2nd city, this game becomes virtually unplayable. You need these hero cards to be able to properly produce material. You can only get these cards by finishing certain tasks and obtaining cases which contain random hero cards or by buying bundles of random hero cards. The problem is that past the 2nd city, the game just stops dropping new hero cards which disables the progression. And if you pay for the card bundles it still doesn’t give you the cards you need. Just doubles of what you already have. So I just wasted a bunch of money and still can’t play the game. Reached out to the support team with no resolution..Version: 1.1.3

Was a great gameThis game was fantastic, as per early reviews you could enjoy in downtime, but not necessary to play continuously. Fantastic. And in app purchases were available but not necessary. I’ve played for nearly 6 months. Today I deleted the game, tactics changed causing hunger in survivors and the response from the frozen team was that this was to entice more constant game play. Also things that before came with natural game play (eg building accomodation and getting new survivors)…now require in app purchases. I have spent over $50 in app purchases because I like to support good games. But demanding in app purchases and increased screen time, bu changing the game from how you started out. No good team frozen. Very disappointed.Version: 1.3.1

Pay to play basicallyBeen stuck on the same time for over a week because I can’t ransomly unlock the hero I need to I’m stuck with only 1 person working even though it’s almost fully upgraded. I’m mean I could fix this is I spend $11!!! The entire game isn’t worth $11. Shame really. Good way to ruin a good time killing game. Now I’m not saying I wouldn’t pay I understand the developers need to be paid but not worth $11 per person. Per town probably as every new town brings new hero’s..Version: 1.0.9

Good could be betterI play this game religiously when I’m bored especially when the events are on, I do genuinely enjoy it and you don’t have to spend any real money to be able to progress which is hard to find in games now. The only thing I dislike about the game is the ‘hero’ aspect. In the first ‘village’ you don’t have them and it’s like you’re just leading a group to survive, the second you get introduced to hero’s and they supposedly help you in whatever way but they just seem like a hindrance. I’m currently on level 7 maybe and I’ve got one hero to collect which is one that works on the greenhouse, I’ve played nearly all the quests but my people keep starving to death and there’s nothing I can do because I don’t have this hero. I wish it wasn’t so hard to upgrade them or get the ones you actually need to play the game. The events are super fun though no complaints about anything else.Version: 1.5.1

Good game but could be much betterThe game has a great flow even if you’re practically starting over after every accomplished level/city. My biggest gripe is that players, like myself, that migrate from one city to the next seem to outpace the developers of this game. For example, I’m in a city where 30-40% of my buildings can only support 1 worker because relevant (new) heroes do not generate for the city that I am in. Yet hero’s generate for older cities that I’ve already moved on from, which is cool because i still may use them as fighters for adventures but ultimately it stagnates me because I’m unable to move forward and truly experience the game. I’ve completed 2 other cities with buildings that fail to attain a hero and still acquiesced with bottlenecks in my pipeline. It just gets worse as I progress through the game. It’s frustrating as a user and there should be better algos in place to support players in relation to the actual level they’re on. Meanwhile the side games provide rapid hero support even though these event aren’t the main objective of the game. Seems to be a huge gap and miss!.Version: 1.1.2

The hero won’t showThis game is fine but I have some concerns about it. I keep getting chest but the hero just doesn’t show up!!! Fix this so I can actually have my survivors survive!! And the adds are fine, there is no adds, but when you want to get another chest to I open you can watch an add, and some of these adds are inappropriate!! And when I play it on my phone, my sister usually watches what I’m doing, and I constantly have to lift my phone up so she doesn’t see inappropriate adds!!!! That is what worry’s me about this game!! And the price to work the furnace is just to much!! I wasted half of my coal to just work it!!! And when you go to the city’s that you already finish, you can’t to nothing there, fix this!!! I am getting tired of it being like this! But otherwise the game is good 👍. But feel free to fix the errors In the game!! Please!!! And I know people have this kind of problems, I’ve read it in the comments! Now fix it!!!!!!!!.Version: 1.1.5

Few bugs but still it’s in early stageThere are few bugs in game ! Some heroes are just impossible to get without spending money but overall good game hopefully devs keep giving updates quick !.Version: 1.0.6

Fun game, terrible support and value for moneyI’ve been playing this game for quite some time and strongly supported it. The game, progressively could get boring or difficult especially if you’re stuck with the food resource providers or the fuel ones and have to upgrade them as your game will pretty freeze for a while until you upgrade them. In terms of events, they keep coming up with good ideas but the even repeat themselves. I wouldve given the game a 4-5 star review had it not been to the recent incident in the event. Briefly, the new events they issue out consume a lot of processing space along and results in the overheating and lag of the device. I use two phones and I switch between them for this game. I purchased a few packages and consumed gems that I’ve been saving since I started playing. I ended up losing the progress I made after the purchase right when I switched phones and the maximum compensation they offered was a 120 minute resource pack which costs literally 180 gems after two hours in real time along with the gems and money spent ending up being useless due to the loss of progress and acquired cards. Over 1500 gems and 5$ were wasted..Version: 1.3.2

Good but room for improvement. The game itself is pretty fun, and progresses reasonably well but there are some issues I have: 1) the cash shop is badly over priced with no alternatives to the outrageously expensive subscription. They want nearly $13/week for no ads, bonus build slots, and bonus offline time (from 2h normal to 8h extended). This adds up to over $600/year. It is absolutely not worth the price they are asking for. 2) their short events can be extremely difficult to progress in unless you pay the aforementioned annual cost of $600/year. Seriously, that’s more than I pay for my streaming services. The build times in these events are frequently very long too. If I got 3 days and two build slots why is it taking 20-30 minutes to upgrade? 3)a good thing however is no forced ads. You CAN watch them for a reward unless you have $600/year extra in your budget to skip them, but they never require you to watch one and there is no interstitial ads. 4) another good thing is it’s a solo game. Too many of these games demand team play and that takes the casual aspect out of the game. I adore that I don’t have to play on teams and play frequently to stay on said team or risk losing days worth of resources. 5) It is hard to level up heroes without paying, and even if you do pay there is no guarantee of getting the hero you needed. This creates an extremely frustrating block even early on where you cannot level your hero's, and so you cannot assign people to work places. I feel this system either needs to be removed and the hero's are instead attached only to the adventure aspects, or they need to be easier to get. There’s one I haven’t got who is needed for a critical survival component. It has been 4 months and I still don’t have him. Tl;dr this game is fun and it’s okay, but it has the potential to be incredible if the developers tone down their greed just a little..Version: 1.4.4

Fun Until You Need HeroesPlease make it easier to get heroes. I am at a standstill in Plain City because I am at my max number of upgrades without more workers, which I need heroes for. It’s very frustrating. I like the game, but I will be uninstalling due to not being able to advance without purchasing items in game..Version: 1.0.6

Misleading and Money HungryFirst off you don’t build your own town, you move from place to place upgrading. Then each city you move to gets harder, as with most games right? Well the only way to advance and move on is if you get these hero’s that the only way you’re guaranteed to get them is to buy them with your own money. Otherwise you have to wait until you get them either as a prize (which you get from advancing the city so that won’t happen if you can’t get the hero) or if you by some miracle get them in the 8 hour free case (which let’s be honest, I’ve never gotten the hero I actually need from this stupid thing). There is no option for you to use diamonds that you’ve earned to pick which hero card you get. So you could have like 10 cards for a hero you don’t even need them for, but nothing that will help you advance. The only redeeming part of this is weekend events. Only weekend ones. The Last Autumn is during the week and it’s just as bad as your main cities. The others are fun though, and they give pretty good rewards..Version: 1.1.2

Animals !I thought that it was funny game but when I start to play evil fur factory section , the concept was awful as we should kill wolf and bear and other animals in the farm! I'm not vegan but it makes me uncomfortable specially when I should select factory and hear a wolf hawl !.Version: 1.4.3

Dont bother to play this. Be ready to spend your money starting from level 4Another scam game. I enjoyed it but at level 4, everything change. Level 1-3 runs smooth but in level 4 everything feels slow and stuck. That it feels like it will force you to spend just to get the heroes. Dont bother playing this..Version: 1.0.6

Fun… until 3rd cityThe first two location was fun. Like any game if you don’t want to pay, it’s a grind. Which is fair. But, the 3rd location - well, let’s just say it’s pretty much you HAVE to pay. can’t unlock a certain character to level up your building & production. You can leave your game idle… but yea after a week i’m still nowhere near moving ahead. Such a shame..Version: 1.4.3

Started good, then you need to pay…Game starts well, but eventually you get to a point where you can’t go any further without hero cards. You can try and buy, but there’s no guarantee you’ll get the one you need to progress..Version: 1.3.2

Starts wellAs others have said, the first 2 cities are good. Steady game play until city 3. The lack of hero cards as rewards (as they were in the first 2) really affects the game and seriously slows progress. I would hazard a guess that many will stop playing at this stage unless it is fixed. To progress YOU HAVE TO SPEND MONEY To get heroes to open up extra worker spaces. I have let this run for 4 days without upgrading or spending any in game resources and you cannot get enough to up grade with out paying out to get a hero. So I previously said 3 stars and have now downgraded to 1. I don’t think games should force people to pay to play. Either charge for downloading the game or not. Don’t have a hidden cost to progress.Version: 1.0.5

Pay to playWithout spending real money you get to a certain point that you do not have the right hero’s to continue. It becomes a literal standstill. Great game but make it easier to get the cards to you need and not force people to use their money. It is a fun game but not worth that.Version: 1.7.3

Good game but it’s basically pay to playThe theme is great, very frost punk and it is fun to play. However the game is often pay to play. I don’t just mean watching ads or buying things to advance faster/easier but you actually have to buy heroes on certain levels just to be able to play. Each city “level” require specific heroes to run production buildings. In the first 2 cities you are give these heroes by completing tasks. However in cities 3 and 4, Plain City and Ice Lake, you aren’t given the heroes to operate key production buildings. So you hit a huge roadblock that makes the game frustrating. One example, in Ice Lake there is a farm building. Which is the only food source for your city but without Andrew, you can only assign one worker which doesn’t produce nearly enough food so your survives constantly die. And it’s not just because the level is difficult and you have to play smart to advance, you are held back completely by the fact you didn’t buy the hero pack for that level..Version: 1.0.6

Need Heroes! So, I was enjoying playing up until I got to the 3rd town. I am progressing at a snails 🐌pace now because I haven’t been given the hero for my iron mine or 1st foundry. This means I can only have one worker which is holding everything up. It is seriously making me want to quit because I have tried buying crates with my gems to get these necessary heroes, with no luck, and I have tried sitting it out and waiting. 3 days later and I haven’t been able to do more than 2 tasks though = boring!! This is a major flaw to the general flow of the game and really needs addressing..Version: 1.0.6

Lixo!Reiniciei o jogo para uma nova estratégia e tenho que aguardar de 24 a 48 horas para aprovarem?? Não estou fechando uma conta de banco, é só um jogo! Baixando da concorrência, paciência.Version: 1.7.3

Fun but not freeGreat game congrats had lot of fun. But this is definitely a cash grab. After level 1 you would need to drop some money each level unless you like waiting for months to get anything; as each building requires a specific hero and when you don’t have the hero you can’t have any workers in that building. The biggest problem is that building productions chains together so when you don’t have hero’s in your base building it completely bottleneck..Version: 1.4.2

City 3 is the money wallCity 3 is where you have to break down and buy the heroes that will allow you to properly staff your production. Otherwise, you’ll just grind by logging in a couple times a day to collect resources for 1-2 upgrades. F2P time on app drops to about five minutes a day. If you’re cool with that then this game might work for you. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll keep playing to see if I can randomly draw a hero in a free crate that I know the devs want me to pay real money for. Another frustrating part of the game is that the survivors you lure in are always exhausted and starving, and some of them stay that way even if you pump all your resources into the dorms and kitchens to max out recovery. You can only have them eat twice a day and sleep once a day. The end result is that your production is always working at a reduced rate (10% loss). That doesn’t sound like a lot, but when you can only have one worker per resource because you didn’t buy the heroes it can have a big effect..Version: 1.0.6

MaxHaven’t seen or started the real game yet, not been able to participate in the only addicting mini temporary games this app has to offer which is the event games. How many days will it take me to fill up my 2nd new beginning town? I refuse to move forward until all my levels are at max..Version: 1.7.1

FUN BUT YOU NEED TO SPEND MONEY TO PROGRESSI am enjoying this game. I have been playing it for around a week. However to progress I need heroes. I am constantly using my free chests, spending gems to open rare chests and I am still short two heroes. So I have bought gems to purchase the heroes. Nope I get extra cards for my existing heroes. I can’t progress any further until I get the last hero. My survivors are starving (can’t upgrade the kitchen). Truly frustrating. So close to giving up. Not enjoyable at all!.Version: 1.1.7

Money grabberFar too much of a money-grabbing game. I’m not surprised since it’s GM5 Studio, but it makes it ridiculously difficult the further in you get. Not to mention how absolutely bonkers the cost of the IAPs is. Upgrading heroes to a point where you have enough food—period—and can collect resources to move cities in sooner than a couple of weeks at least is impossible. Mini events (like the plane and coin/acorn one) aren’t completable unless you pay. Main events are nigh impossible to reach higher than milestone 8 without paying, and that’s if you check in every two hours and spend more time in-game than most people reasonably have. I’m also very perturbed by how the story is pretty much abandoned after the first few cities. It’s fun as much as it can be for an almost-pay-to-progress. Definitely possible for a 5 star review, if only it didn’t have what are essentially paywalls..Version: 1.1.2

Good at firstThis game was good at first as its exciting going through the tasks and building your factories and things, but as it goes on it gets longer and longer for things to upgrade and build, over 1 hour to build some items on the game, It costs too much in assets to upgrade each time, I can wait over 2 hours and only upgrade 1 level on 1 building then thats it, wait again. The fun is taken out of it and I have got bored now of waiting for very little. Im sorry but you need to sort this out as people like me will just delete the game and not play anymore..Version: 1.0.10

Good Game- but not the production capI love the concept and the style of this game, and playing through the first two cities was extremely fun. Once I got to the third city though, every building required a new hero to have workers put into it- even if I already owned a hero with the same job description. The way it’s set up to require specific heroes isn’t very efficient, and Mmmh production is slowed down to virtually nothing. I can only get a couple upgrades every ten or so minutes because of how slowly my one worker gets things done. Other than that, I vastly enjoy the side battles you can do on the map, and I like how the heroes do serve some purpose in adding a multiplier to my workers output. I appreciate the lack of excessive ads, and still watch some by choice. Overall, I’m a bit sad that I can’t make very much progress- I’ve been waiting for four hours checking in every few minutes only to have my production not even double in one resource, but I’m still going to keep playing, because I still enjoy it..Version: 1.0.6

Disappointed with the pay wallI really enjoyed the first 2 cities, loved the dynamics and game play. The 3rd city took me 3 weeks to get through,I opened the chest and watched the videos for the second chest every 8 hours. Did not receive the hero’s needed until I completed enough tasks to move on to city 4. I persisted thinking once I finally got the hero’s I needed it would be much easier and more enjoyable. I was beyond disappointed to see city 4 only kept 2 of the hero’s needed. Hospital and kitchen required completely different hero’s to what I had already collected making progress a snail pace. Sad to say I had to give this game up. Don’t bother unless you want to fork out money for hero’s that don’t continue on through the game’s levels..Version: 1.0.9

Addicting but glitchyThe core gameplay loop is definitely fun, but you run into some annoying issues a few hours in. Everyone’s complaining (understandably) about the monetization halting progress in its tracks, and I’d agree that that needs some tinkering. So yes, the paywall is pretty serious, but as someone who’s fine doing some micro-transacting, the game needs to be fixed before I’ll drop any real money on it. Half of my settlement is starving because they can’t get through the kitchen line in time. If I log in during a work period, the survivors all scatter from their homes because they hadn’t left them yet. A game with an idle timer that people can pay to extend should actually work during that idle time! Lastly, making the buildings farther apart in later cities just to cut down on usable work hours is bad and predatory game design. Bottom line, fix your AI because it’s hindering an otherwise decent experience..Version: 1.0.6

Forces you to pay to get anywhereBy the 3rd city, progress has gotten so slow that things get really boring. And that’s on purpose, as they want you to pay to speed up gameplay. Don’t be fooled by how quickly you complete the 1st and 2nd cities, that won’t last. Honestly, better not to waste your time with it at all. Really frustrating..Version: 1.0.10

Impossible to progress without payingHero not accessible was a cool game for a bit but is extremely difficult to progress once you get to plains city….Version: 1.3.2

Paid to play after a certain pointI played until the certain point in the game. When I was getting less hero’s cards to upgrade the ones I was currently playing per city it was becoming more frustrating to get more materials and people to make them. I’ve noticed I built a bad habit of spending unnecessary money for the game to move on for the main game and their side games. So How i viewed it I was spending money just to play a game. Sorry I can’t no longer support it not when it was 1. Getting me no where and two when I’ve nearly spent $30 in one day. That’s when I knew I need to delete this game. After that I knew I needed to delete the game before I end up investing more money to only bring me joy for a few minutes. It was great to play the game in the beginning but once you past city 10 that’s when you spend your money. I liked it when you played the mini events they would give you gems 💎as rewards when they were up in 2-3 days (the main thing that would help you by past building materials) but now they hardly give you any good rewards to help you advance in the game. Like any game once you start spending for a free game it’s no longer free and not worth playing..Version: 1.3.2

Fun but,By the third city… you can see they try to force you to pay for hero cards otherwise it makes the game super hard to advance through cities! I know it cost money to make apps but more options to possibly watch ads for the things you need like hero cards or red gems would be nice!.Version: 1.4.4

Fun game but looses appeal after awhileThe hero element for production is a bit broken. Constantly found myself stuck with a fully upgraded factory but only allowed 1 worker all because you don’t collect a random hero from a chest. Which can take a while to get to get unless you pay. This has happened over a couple settlements and it brings progression to a snails pace as there’s a constant bottle neck that I can’t get passed unless I spend money or get lucky. I managed for a while but it really over shadows the good things this game does have such a graphics, combat and the settler happiness system.Version: 1.0.6

Amazing gameI started playing this game after seeing the adds for it for ages, I’m obsessed I love the events that happen every so often since it’s something new from the usual gameplay. 10/10 would recommend and have already. Would def annoy people on tiktok about it if I could..Version: 1.5.3

Another fun game ruined by microtransactionsFirstly I'd like to say I realize devs need to monetize their products. I'm not bothered by that at all. This game however breaks a few days into playing it specifically so you're enticed to make a microtransaction. Let me explain: TLDR: the drop rate on some necessary heroes is so insanely low that you're either stuck or forced to pay. full explanation: There are "heroes" which grow the output exponentially. If you don't get the hero you can't get more people working on that resource and thus have an extremely limited output. So when you get to copper there's a hero that they don't give you no matter how many earned suitcases you open. I imagine he is there but they made the drop chance so low that you get stuck. To give some reference, right now i'm outputting about 54 bronze pieces per 13 seconds and our idle output is limited to 2 hours; unless... you guessed it, another microtransaction. This makes it nearly impossible to progress and i'm not even that far into the game. The weirdest part is that it's a pretty even increase in difficulty until you get to bronze then it comes out of nowhere and the production goals just get more and more out of reach until you're considering paying. I was so into this game I would have bought stuff if it wasn't so coercive..Version: 1.2.5

Great game, butIt is really nice game, graphics, gameplay and story etc. And it does make you connected and improve your cities easily; until the 3rd or 4th city. After 3rd city some heroes, heroes you need the most for production don’t show up. And you can’t buy them directly either. That slows down the production and game. Then it just becomes let’s wait for products to fill up and hope for a chest that will give the heroes. They need to fasten for heroes otherwise it get boring after 2nd city..Version: 1.5.2

What’s the use of Heroes? The game concept is great. But why the heck do you have level locks on heroes, especially when you NEED them to progress the game? I’d understand it if it was restrictions on advanced Epic or Legendary Heroes, but for the common heroes too? That’s too much. And what’s up with needing to acquire the heroes through a loot box system? It was ok for the first 2 levels because you actually EARNED the heroes once you build their respective factories… but why would you make it where my common level chef hero can’t be used at all in the future levels? I would have to get lucky enough to somehow draw out an Epic Chef Hero, completely discarding the progress I made with my current one. What irks me even more is how you can’t add more workers in a factory without your hero being a certain level! You BARELY get the red evolution stones to upgrade your hero! So if you can’t upgrade the level cap on your hero, then you can’t add more workers, which leads to an even longer time to get everything done, which will eventually lead to more survivors dying or leaving. I like idle games, but If I’m gonna be advancing my factories to the point where there can be 6 workers, but can only put 2 to work because my hero isn’t leveled enough or I didn’t get lucky enough to pull them from a loot box, then it’s not a problem on my side. It’s the game’s fault for making my progress slow. Im done with this game. 2 weeks and $8 wasted..Version: 1.3.1

Scam start from level 4They force to buy their cards bcuz in level 4 basic food is not enough without purchase of card firstly they build the interest then they start scam you guyz don’t have to do this at-least provide cards in normal buyz like 8 hours free box then watch ad box even we hace happy to spend diamonds but for every city have to spend 15$ is not worth it. Please make changes in your scheme.Version: 1.0.6

Starts out okBut hit level 9+ and it’s almost impossible to get the right bosses and resources - takes forever and takes any enjoyment right out of it. Quite often not all workers come for meals even though there’s no reason for it eg all food is there ready etc. so they start starving…kind of like a game glitch? Over the constant stress that it’s become so I give up. Sort your **** out frozen city - so many people saying the same thing..Version: 1.3.1

Unbalanced garbageThe game is so unbalanced, workers constantly go on pause even though everything is at 75%, side screen is filled with useless crap you can’t hide, town #3 I didn’t get a hero so one resource could only get mined by a single guy. In the end the down gets left behind…. Now that is the dumbest city building idea EVER!!!! Why build a city if it just gets erased to start all over again? Developers are clearly brain dead and don’t have a QA team. First town was fun, then it became repetitive trash.Version: 1.4.3

FrustratingThe game was fun at first, but as you progress through the levels it becomes almost impossible to keep moving through without spending a lot of money for the various pieces you need to make any progress. Then even when you do spend the money, most of the time you don’t even get the things you need and just end up with multiples of things you don’t need. It starts to feel like a money scam after a certain point which has me ready to be done with it. Too bad, because it was really fun at first..Version: 1.6.3

DONT DOWNLOADBeen playing for a couple weeks spent some real money on the game for a couple bits and was really enjoyable then there is these little pop up challenges that are actually a lot more fun and move quicker than the actual game which by the way is really draggy once you’ve got past the initial set up of your first city it’s a real drag after than even if you’re following the task menu but the point is you do the pop up challenges and added bits spend days working your way up purchases things and they never arrive in your inventory so after you’ve completed the tasks you never actually obtain what it is you do the task for tried speaking to customer services sent over 5 messages got absolutely nothing back not even an automatised message saying slow replies or something they just outright ignore you and then when you go to delete your account it just takes you round in circles you can’t actually delete it at all you just end up having to remove the app! Half of these reviews on here are only given nicely because they warn you rewards in the game that is if your lucky enough to have the reward show up in your inventory… what a waste of time and money really had the ground to be as good game but nothing works right good idea BAD design don’t waste your time honestly.Version: 1.0.10

Food Is Broken (making the game unplayable)I have been playing for a few weeks and really enjoyed the game up until a few days ago. Good graphics, music, gameplay and simple premise. I’m on city 4 without spending any real money or getting stuck, but here comes the issue. Not long ago my city stopped producing FOOD in the main game AND the events. This is not an issue with heroes, buildings, levels or supply chains. The raw meat from my hunters is far, far more than enough to feed everybody in the city, and my chefs have more than enough time to make the meals. However, my hunters repeatedly take the raw meat to the kitchen then NOTHING HAPPENS. Every single person in both my cities is starving because no meals are being made. I am just in a cycle of riots and everyone dying then being replaced, only to die of hunger again. I don’t understand what happened to completely ruin the whole game like this but I sincerely hope it gets fixed very soon. I want to give this game the 5 stars it deserves, but this is ridiculous..Version: 1.1.7

Great game until you hit City 4The first 3 cities are great, you can tick off a few tasks each time you pick the game up, even spend longer periods in the game. Once you start requiring Rare (pink) hero's to increase productivity and open slots in buildings progress grinds to a halt, I had one building in City 3 without the hero which made progress slower, and city 4 amplified the problem. I stopped playing now as I'd need to open the app every 2 hours for 12 hours to get the resources I need to upgrade one building 🤷. Feels like it frustrates you into paying money for hero's which I'm not a fan of..Version: 1.0.4

Good but..Really fun pass time but unfortunately I didn’t listen to the other review regarding the unlocking of hero’s. takes wayyyyy to long you have to wait 8hrs for a “chance “ to win these hero’s you get 1-2 every 2 hrs and without their heros you can’t level up. basically the game leaves you at a stand still I’m on ice lake. the one before that already had me almost delete it. I’m at that point again :/.Version: 1.4.4

Don’t waste your time on this game play WhiteOut Survival insteadLet me start this off by saying I initially downloaded this game first, now by some miraculous miracle I’m on the 4th city after having this game for the better part of a Year, you get most heroes you need except whoops if you want Sophia or the chef and medic and greenhouse hero for city 4 you are at the mercy of the 8 hour chests which don’t do jack, or claw and scrape to get to 350 gems to get a rare chest with what seems like 0.5% odds of achieving new heroes. The game developers here really dropped the ball and made this game to where if you don’t pay them to pay you will never get enjoyment out of it, oh and let’s not forget this new weekly and monthly subscription plan that doesn’t do anything but line the pockets of some shawty game that a second year programming could figure out how to work. Seriously if you want to make this game more fun make it to where the heroes you need to progress through the game are guaranteed unlockables while you play, increase the odds if you don’t have certain heroes over upgrading others, or just do away with utilizing heroes for boosts on your buildings..Version: 1.7.17

Frozen cityNot happy, I was right at the top of the map , been playing for months and the game has reverted right back to the start , grr.Version: 1.6.3

Gacha system is trashI have been playing and I have just gotten to the Plain city(map 3) but I am not making enough resources needed since I do not have the heroes needed. I can only assign one person to the iron mine and foundry because I do not have Arthur and Sophia. My iron blocks are always at zero as they are consumed by other materials instantly. I can bearly make any cylinders. Unlike the other buildings where you get the corresponding heroes for free the foundry and iron mine don’t. Progressing takes forever and I have many unassigned people. I have more unassigned than assigned people, and I literally always have zero iron blocks so I cannot upgrade nothing. The game at the start without the gacha system was way better and definitely way more free to play. Level 3 onwards is pay to win..Version: 1.7.1

Too hero dependent and monthly payments are bad valueLike other reviews state, the 3rd level is also doing me in. The game has a good gameplay loop however, progress at level 3 is stalled due to a necessary hero that I have to magically get with loot boxes. Additionally, there are 3 separate monthly paid subscriptions that you can opt into and they are all of incredibly bad value. $10/month for ad free? The game barely has ads as it is. $10/month to gain 100 gems a day? Might as well just buy the gems in bulk from the store. $15/month to construct more than 2 things at a time and gain 2 more hours of idle work. World of Warcraft offers a better value proposition for $15/month. To have all 3 subs going at once is $35/month. None of these subs address the issue that you’re completely stuck without getting the right heroes in loot boxes. I’m enjoying the gameplay loop for now but the devs really should tweak it so the builds do not depend on heroes to staff additional workers..Version: 1.1.3

Set up for failureI actually enjoyed this game as a time consumer. I’m disabled so I have a bit of down time and I’m always looking for new games. This is a good game for that. I actually really enjoyed it. It has an adventure part you do on the side that keeps it non repetitive for the most part and it has side events where you go and build side towns for rewards. So that stuff is pretty nice. Unfortunately I did pay a little here and there to keep up to even out of the rewards that I got. I wish I never spent any money on this game now. As time has went on and I’ve passed levels (currently on 5 my screen only shows 7) it’s slowly made my people angry for no reason. Your survivor dissatisfied bar. Last town (4) for some reason they were almost ready to strike and it gave me 0 indication as to why. The temp, stomach and sleep were all basically always at the top so I have no idea what was going on. Now that I’ve moved on to the next town although all three of my major bars are full my meter is starting to drop. With 0 indication as to why. It’s frustrating that I’ve done all the requirements to keep them safe and fed but something is causing them to be dissatisfied and it won’t tell me what. Very frustrating. The fact I can’t get my money back is the only thing that keeps me playing..Version: 1.4.2

It’s okay but extremely slowAt the beginning of the game you progress through at a great speed, they ask for a review and you give a good one because you think its great. Than all of sudden you get to the third city (level three) and you hit a massive slow down. You can’t progress at any speed because they want you to buy two characters and if you don’t the factories pretty much comes to a stop as you can’t keep upgrading, you can’t put worker on and can’t keep up with demand from the other factories. Which mean you can’t upgrade anything, even after days of playing you get no where. They do have events that lead you too a different place and you get to upgrade them, keeps you distracted for a moment but obviously only lasts so long. The only good thing about these is they give you a bonus when the events over. Unfortunately this only gives you a small amount not really letting you progress much, unless you are willing to spend money I wouldn’t suggest this game..Version: 1.7.3

Starts out good but then loses its excitementI saw this game advertised and thought it would be fun. It starts out great but then it becomes impossible. As you go to different cities you need to gather hero’s and level them up. In the beginning that is fun and doable. Do adventures, get stars, level up hero. Soon the amount of stars is not possible to get to level up one level plus every few levels you need multiple cards for that hero. It’s to the point you are running a factory with only one person. You can’t get enough fuel to heat the furnace, or food for the survivors to eat. It’s truest impossible unless you buy stuff. My town is always striking and any people starve to death. One of the side adventures you need building permits to get survivors but the only way to get them is the slot machine. Sometimes it’s ok, the last round I only got a few permits so I could not advance to get the prizes. It was not fair. Most likely will stop playing soon since it’s no longer fun or challenging..Version: 1.7.3

It was fun, but you have to payYou have to pay a lot to have fun.Version: 1.3.2

Fun but heavily relies on heroesThe game is pretty good and I’ve been playing it for almost a month now, at first things were good since I had heroes to help with the production of my items but soon enough I didn’t have the necessary heroes to push out a sufficient amount of goods to keep my city going. I’m currently on city 7 and I don’t have a hero to make what looks like a generator which results in 7 being made every 33.4 seconds which is absolutely outrageous honestly. All of my upgrades need a generator and the amount being pushed out is just so slow. I’ve already opened 3 gold chests (750 gems) and there have been no new heroes and I’m not going to spend money on this game either. Another issue was the upgrading of heroes since I didn’t have enough cards to upgrade them, I would only have one worker for each station since my hero wasn’t high enough level and it was painfully slow and I would be losing resources and not getting enough food. Adventures aren’t much fun either as all you do is just watch your heroes attack and repeat. I think to improve the game they could lessen their dependency on heroes in the game because it lessens the fun and drives people away from the game as I’ve seen in other reviews. The game isn’t that fun anymore and I plan on deleting it soon since it’s become mundane at this point..Version: 1.7.10

Hard to advanceI actually like the game itself. I like the tasks set forth. However, the reason for the one star is because I’m unable to advance as you need specific heroes to get more people assigned to each place. Currently, I have two spots that require heroes that I would have had to buy the special pack for. I am not able to get them in the store with the gems I’ve earned. I would have only been able to get it by spending real money. The free packs you get are only every 8 hours. So far, I haven’t gotten either hero I need. You can’t keep up like this. My suggestion would be to allow to get the necessary heroes and give a buy option to have them maxed out. That way people can choose to buy or not. And/or provide special packs more often than 8hrs.Version: 1.4.5

Great game but expensiveThis is a great game. Very enjoyable. The only thing is that it way too expensive to pay to play. I understand thats how free games need to keep the light on but as an example, they just added a season pass and it costs 30$. Thats wayyyyy to expensive for a season pass even with this economy. Especially when you see wayyy more impressive and popular games that graphically look better and have more fun game mechanics that have a season pass that cost only 10$. Lets be clear, this is not an RPG or a shooter or a pvp game, its an idle game lol Hope developers read this and adjust their pricing, because if its more than 2 to 7$ to progress greatly, im not opening my wallet..Version: 1.9.1

Don’t play unless you want to spend money! This game is addictive at first, but later on, it’s harder to build things because you need to obtain heroes and the only way is spending money or a luck on a free basic chest. Even if you already obtain the hero and upgrade them, later on it will not be enough to get survivors to work. You can try it but it gets really frustrating..Version: 1.1.3

Played until 3rd city but will probably stop.I actually tried to explain this through discord but seems like they are hardcore fans there and don’t listen to actual debate. Looking at the reviews, it seems like I was right. The third city is extremely difficult to the point where it will become hard for newer player retention. Games should only be that hard gradually, but your city becoming too dependent on Hero’s you get by chance will become incredibly frustrating to new players. A game should be challenging, but fair too. There should also be a better way to properly assign/unassigned survivors to accommodate specific needs. If for example one needs resting, you could send that specific survivor to sleep- instead of having to randomly un-assign survivors until you get the right one. Also there is this very frustrating bug that happens whenever you put your phone for a couple of minutes. Specifically during the work hour there will be only a specific amount of food ready for survivors. I came back after a few minutes and only 8 meals were ready for 14 survivors. Which caused someone to die (as I locked my phone 3 times). It’s also a little of a bummer to have to restart your city every time you complete the tasks- and mind you you don’t have to fully upgrade it either. Very frustrating game in that sense. Challenge progression should come in naturally, not from 0 to 100. It will confuse players, and it will become frustrating to a lot of them..Version: 1.0.6

At the second city the fun drains out unless you start spending moneyThe screenshots are definitely misleading, you don’t get to be ground level with the survivors at all. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the art, and there are a lot of options of things to do, but ‘improving’ your town becomes glacial the deeper into the second city you get, and progress becomes impossible unless you start buying stuff, but you can’t buy specific items you need - you buy chests of random items, so spending money doesn’t necessarily guarantee you improve your game. It didn’t let me get far enough in to actually love playing the game and see its fun potential before making me buy stuff (which I’m in no way opposed to) and just made it a waiting game to gain resources with no clear path of where it’s supposed to be going. It has potential to be fun, but I got bored playing for free, so I’m not sure why I’d justify spending money on it..Version: 1.1.3

Decent but needs adjusted.Needs work. It’s a great game, I’ve always been into these types of games. Being a huge fan of Frost punk, which is obviously what this game took inspiration from, I had expectations that weren’t met. I actually edited the fact that you can move through different districts or whatever you call them, but the fact that I can’t get new hero’s to save my life is kind of a problem. I have 6 workbench’s in my iron mine but can only run 1 workers because I can’t get the hero. Yet my foundry 1 and 2 are both running atleast 4 workers. So there’s no way I can keep up with the demand and also have enough to upgrade. The iron mine is only making 8k iron a minute when it should be making more like 80k all because I can’t get one hero. I believe hero’s need reworked. I think them having an effect on how much you’re outputting or the speed is better than determining if you can have workers or not. Fix the hero’s and it’s be 5 stars..Version: 1.1.3

This game started fun but have your wallet readyThe game had promise, which is why it’s rated so high but some recent decisions by the developers have very much shifted this to a pay to play game, and it’s not a reasonable pay model by any imagination. Polished game, poor support, bad roadmap from the developers. You choose if this is right for you..Version: 1.2.4

Pay to winAt first this game was fun and seemed like something to bide my time for a while with its soothing calm music and semi dark need for survival. After this first 2 cities however the game takes a drastic change in difficulty that can only be remedied by purchasing from the store. It’s hard to get new heroes you need unless you buy them out right which….as soon as you unlock a resource that requires a new hero, guess which one magically appears in the shop for sale! Then there’s the events with a ranking system that you can only really win if you spend More money to give yourself a boost on resource generation. On a whim I wanted to see how much of a boost I would get. I spent 3 dollars to buy 15 blueprints to increase my housing for survivors. With a few hours I went from rank 209 to 142….for 3$. If you don’t mind spending money then this game is alright. But if your like me just looking to play then I would recommend another game..Version: 1.2.4

Good until it’s notI will start by saying I really enjoyed this game when I started playing. Progression was fast, I was ticking off tasks constantly and it was satisfying to get them all done and move on and start again in a new city with new buildings. But now I’m on Plain City, only the third city I think, and I don’t have the heroes for the iron mine or foundry 1 so I can only assign ONE survivor to these buildings, severely bottlenecking my output. This has slowed progress significantly and made the game almost completely unengaging. I imagine this is intentional to incentivise you to buy gems and chests but at their extortionate prices, I won’t be paying for anything in this game. The only thing I’m holding out for now is the occasional events, one is due to start later today where I can presumably build a new city with progression that isn’t completely messed up. I don’t know how long it will take me to get past this city because it takes so long to do even one level of minor upgrades on any building. I don’t know if I will get past it at all before I get fed up with the slow progression and uninstall. This game had the potential to be so good and it was my favourite game on my phone until this point, and my complaint is echoed by every other review on the App Store but the developers seem determined to keep things the way they are in the pursuit of revenue. I hope it is solved, please listen to the players..Version: 1.0.9

Lighten upI get that rare cards are rare, but when one is required for a crucial part of the build and it never shows up, it really makes it a grind. Don’t get me wrong, I know you offered this game for free and hope for in-app purchases. Rare does not mean impossible. Raise the rare card chance in boxes. Or have it available in earnings from tasks when a character is required in the map..Version: 1.9.1

Won’t loadDosent load at the start. Deleting.Version: 1.4.2

I like it BUTPreviously reviewed and rated a 4 but downgraded as I’ve gotten further in the game. Managed to get to the 6th or 7th city but now can barely progress. The heroes are required at 55+ so you end up with only 2 survivors working so don’t get enough materials. You have to upgrade the furnace to unlock new materials and therefore use more coal and still only 2 workers. My survivors were always hungry and couldn’t have more than 2 hunters. The kitchen were taking 260 per meal which was a joke and yet the tasks were always to add more survivors for rewards equally in everyone starving! The last city I was on, buildings were taking over an hour to build and you’d then realise your hero isn’t upgraded enough. Felt like I’ve wasted so much time. Really loved this game when I started playing it but now I’ve deleted it as greed seems to be the only thing on their minds ☹️ such a shame as could be such a great game!.Version: 1.0.6

Fun Game UNTIL you get to third cityAt first glance this game looked like fun, tried it out and it was! Resource management and a new idea that you gotta keep your colonists warm by centering your settlement around a big furnace. The game was a joy to play until I hit the third settlement where I was resource blocked because I needed heroes in order for my resources to be produced efficiently. The game does give you some beginner heroes, but by the third settlement you have to either unlock them by opening a daily box (low chance of success) OR you guessed it! Hand over the cash, which for me takes the joy out of any game and potential it could have to be a great game. I understand games have to formulate ways to become profitable, but at the same time their are games out there that are perfectly profitable without impeding a players progress. What I’m saying is don’t let your players hit a brick wall and then expect them to pay up in order to keep playing, because at that point we can see the greedy business man rubbing his hands together while he watches us mice try to get to the cheese..Version: 1.1.3

Anything good is erased by a fur factory mini gameThis game is fun, but the inclusion of a mini game focused on raising animals and killing them for their fur is so outdated and out of touch. I deleted it immediately. Seriously, adding a fur farm as a fun little mini game?? No thanks..Version: 1.9.1

The Demise of Summer Hoval. The game is nothing but a slog, with unnecessary and infuriating mechanics to give the game “substance”. It could've been something decent but is just a massive downgrade of an immensely watered-down version of Frostpunk. Devs don't even hide it hogging the title Last Autumn in their ads as if their entire game’s concept comes from a game that actually did the heavy lifting. Shout out my boys at 11 Bit Studios. Can't wait for Frostpunk 2..Version: 1.4.4

Great game, until..I really enjoyed the game until I no long was able to unlock a hero (Arthur) that was preventing me from playing any further and progressing. The only way through was to spend money… which I’m not about. I think there needs to be more free ways to earn gems, otherwise it’s impossible to keep playing..Version: 1.0.6

A great game let down by poor gameplay progressionI agree with many of the other reviews I have seen. This is a great game with really good graphics and gameplay, HOWEVER, it is really let down by the lack of heroes. The hero that you need to progress is impossible to obtain unless you spend money which is a big turn off. One way many other games get around this is by offering players the option to watch ads in exchange for supplies, gems, etc. This would help to maintain income whilst also giving players what they want. I would strongly recommend that the developers consider adding this sort of feature to keep people wanting to play more. It’s a shame as everything else in the game is really good..Version: 1.0.6

Hang in there for level 3 - - - 5 star gameGreat game! Some reviews talk about not being able to pass Level 3, but you can, even without the heroes (it is how I passed it). There is a big difference in how quickly you can complete your city between cities 2 and 3. The first two are pretty easy to complete, but from city 3 it takes time and patience! I found the best trick is to not rush building everything - take your time building the main city - and play the fast paced mini game events in between, the daily adventure, and the battle challenges. Despite struggling in city 3, I got through it ( without the main heroes) with time and patience. The heroes ARE in the cases/crates. Use your blue diamonds to open more valued cases - diamonds are easy to accrue..Version: 1.4.5

Pay to keep progressingIt’s all fun and interesting until you start getting stuck in the third city where a hero card will be forever missing unless you pay - a single card missing in one building creates a bottleneck in the production chain, meaning you cannot move forward. This isn’t pay to win, it’s pay to play - just be upfront about it..Version: 1.0.5

It was okay but…Like others have said, the game was really fun at first. I was looking for something that could keep me entertained and this really did just that. I enjoyed the mini events and unlocking the different camps. However! Once I reached snowcamp castle everything went down hill. I needed a hero for food, and no matter how many rare cards I collected, I was never able to get this one hero that I needed, meaning they wanted me to pay for it. My survivors kept dying because there was literally no food for them to eat, which is really unfair because I worked so hard to get to that camp level. This unfortunately made me uninstall it today, as I know the more I progress the more I will have to pay for hero’s etc to enjoy it again, and I didn’t want a game where I’m always paying for things. So yeah, it’s a no for me sadly!!.Version: 1.1.7

My comments are the same as the othersIt’s a fun game to do when your passing time, but the progress is agonizingly slow in r the 3rd city. Why require hero’s with a loot box system in place to get them? Especially if no progress can be made without them. The prices are outrageous, even more so when you think of the fact that they’re MONTHLY and some even Weekly. I took a gamble and bought diamonds so I could get some of the crates without waiting. I got a hero I didn’t even need, nor does it do anything to actually help my progress. And it’s very misleading when it says “Go to shop” in the hero’s screen under the ones to collect. It makes it seem like you can individually purchase them when again it’s all locked behind loot boxes essentially. I’ve filled out 2 in game surveys as well in having the game over the last month, and it doesn’t seem like they go to any use..Version: 1.0.6

Paywall overloadThis game is remake of frost punk which is a great game for pc and Mac but with paywalls everywhere. I was upset when I though I was buying something that would allow for hero’s to be generated every so often (hero cards are massive paywalls that can only be received through purchases of crates that randomly generate cards, it turned out to be a 1 off. There was no written details and the pictured instructions were misleading..Version: 1.4.1

Terrible forced paid progression and lootbox systemI’ve no idea why this game is rated so highly. Do people review it after only playing the first city or something? I’ve hit a paywall in the third city where I have no way of progressing (short of waiting months) without paying to find the hero I need. Worse than that however, is even if I do pay money, it’s completely up to chance as to whether or not I get the hero I need to progress. I purchased two premium lockboxes with gems I had managed to earn in-game and neither contained the hero I needed. It’s one thing to make you feel like you need to pay to progress, it’s another entirely to make what you pay only give you a CHANCE of having what you need. This is one of the worst examples of this in an idle game that I’ve seen. The rest of it I enjoyed, but considering I came across this in a few days of solid playing, I dread to think how much worse later cities will be. Deleting and moving on..Version: 1.1.2

Blatant rip of from frostpunkWhat they did was stole the concept like the frozen wasteland to the generator in the middle of the city from frostpunk. Then add mobile things like having to wait a certain time before doing anything or ither buy transactions to speed it up. If you want a better experience get frostpunk or wait until there version of mobile comes out..Version: 1.0.4

Just too many bugsI really want to love this game. It is fun but the bugs that persist through many updates are increasingly frustrating. Some are hard to notice but are undermining the ability to strategize at all. For example: the game will show that a certain upgrade will increase oil production by 400K but when you actually do the upgrade it increases production by only 100K. That’s bad, but what is much worse is the game has serious issues keeping track of your production when you’re not actively in the app. I will look at what my factory is producing and what amount I need for the next upgrade, figure out that should take x hours and plan to return. When I come back after the time, there has been zero actual production. Worse, even though I literally have 250K in excess raw food and a fully staffed kitchen, all my survivors are starving or have died and abandoned their posts. This is especially a problem in the events. To avoid this I have to leave the app open and my phone on. Kind of a deal breaker as it defeats the purpose of an “Idle Game”. If they could iron these issues out I would rate 5 stars and consider spending on an otherwise really well designed game..Version: 1.2.5

Classic Hood Game Ruined by MicroTransactionsShaping up to be a fine time waster, until the 3rd city. In the 2nd city they start introducing helps e that you can collect and level up. And then survivors being able to work in a building is locked behind these heroes leveling up. Which is fine, it encourages you to go do hero activities. Then in the third city you don't even have that option. You can have one worker work in the building unless you get a hero who isn't available. Many he'd be available in one of the random free packs? But I don't see him. Ah, there he is. I can purchase him in the store for $5. And if it was a one time purchase to unlock the full game that might be one thing, but he isn't the only required hero that hasn't arrived yet. No, this is a greedy way to get you to spend money because you'll have to buy however many heroes they decide you'll have to buy, they just haven't let you know yet what that will cost you. And after you buy the first you feel like you have to buy the next or your money on the first was wasted. I'm not falling for that. Deleted..Version: 1.1.3

AvoidSo the game starts off really good and simple to use. The further along you get the more it replies on purchases to make any decent progress. Unless you are willing to spend a fortune on it, it’s not worth it. The times events were what kept me going back but I’ve just deleted my account after months of playing because the customer service you receive is disgusting. They’re not helpful and the only response you will get is ‘we will pass it to our team’ so when you lose out in hours of research they won’t compensate you they just want you to put money into it for their own gain. If you go onto their Facebook community you will see a lot of people are deleting their accounts due to the same reasons as me. Impossibly hard to play without spending a fortune and the worst customer services. Be careful of this game. It might seem fun at the start but when you’ve got survivors starving and striking because it’s taking days/weeks to get enough stars to up the levels it’s a joke..Version: 1.6.2

Cant even play normally without spending moneySuch a boring game and a rip-off..Version: 1.4.5

Deliberate paywallIf you search by 1 star reviews there is a common issue. There is a paywall once you hit the third base. You will not get one of the heroes you need and it will require you to buy it to progress. To give the game a fair shake I played for over 2 weeks opening 2-3 crates a day using ad views and points from daily quests, and I never got the hero. Now after reading other reviewers I see why. If you like handing over real money for mindless grind games go right ahead. But I won’t give money to games that maliciously set you up to fail..Version: 1.1.7

Fun for like 2 daysIt’s a fun game, don’t get me wrong. At least for the first day or so. Over time, it just becomes very apparent to be a pay-to-progress game. Not in a literal sense, but to a very distinct point. You get to a point where you’re required to have a hero in order to have people work in a building that produces a very essential item to progress, so until you get lucky and get the hero from the free cards every 8 hours, or you buy it, you best be okay with producing your materials at a painfully slow rate. I would understand if it involved prioritizing where you work your survivors in order to progress to the next step, but then you fall back into the restriction of needing a certain hero to have more than one person working in a shop. I get that you don’t want to advance through the villages/levels super rapidly, as that would take away the feeling of achievement, but if I have to feel like it’s easier to pay $5.99 to get the 2 hero’s i need just for ONE village than it is to check back every 2 hours for 3 days, then I see no enjoyment in this game. Rant review over..Version: 1.0.10

Good game ruined by greedIt’s a great time passer until it gets to the point you can’t really progress unless you buy packages. There are events that last 3 days, these also offer purchases. I wrongly assumed if you bought the packages in the event you would keep the cards for the next time the event rolls round but no, complete flat reset meaning you have to purchase the same packages again. If these were only to speed up the event then that would be fine but no they are the only way to complete the event. I spent maybe 4-5 hours a day on the game as well as checking in throughout the day and only got to around 60% of the way through. Another thing is, you can’t permanently get rid of ads but instead you will have to pay a weekly or monthly subscription. I’m happy to pay for packages if you don’t lose everything after 3 days. Seems like a greedy way to run a game and definitely burns you out from the game a lot faster. It’s a shame because at first the game is pretty enjoyable..Version: 1.0.9

Bah. Was going so well.Snowcap Castle Been playing around 3 weeks now, and I’ve just reached Snowcap Castle, city number 9. I’m used to a slow start, but this one is on a whole new level. Food wise, 700 potatoes are needed for one meal, production on potatoes is 6 (yes, 6) every 10 seconds. This is due to the new hero being needed for production. I’ve spent around £30 over the last few weeks but only because I wanted to, not because I felt like I had to. Until now. Please don’t force us to spend. I hope this isn’t the routine for all future cities. I will stop playing, and spending, if this is the case. My survivors are all hungry immediately, and I’ve no food to give them. They’re dying, and without spending in this instance, they’re going to keep on doing so. Frustrating, and pushing me to quit. Edit: I’ve uninstalled..Version: 1.0.6

Great game but stressed me outI start with the good things to say about the game because there is plenty to say. This game is one of a kind that I have played in a while, which made me want to keep playing. There were so many activities that kept me busy and helped me kill time. Though passing time was my main motive, the game has great graphics, music, and gameplay that got me invested in it. Everything was fine until cities 3 and 4 where a particular workshop can be upgraded but cannot employ more than 1 worker at a time unless a specific hero was unlocked. I was fine with that but things became stressful when I couldn’t unlock a particular hero at all after multiple resource boxes, which affected production of a particular resource which in turn affected farm and kitchen upgrades which resulted in my workers dying, being dissatisfied and building up towards a strike. All of this was not even the result of my decisions. I had to uninstall the game and give it a 3 star rating because of the unnecessary stress around unlocking a hero. I am afraid it may set up the game to be considered pay-to-win..Version: 1.1.2

Boring and money grabbingHow are people rating this game so highly????? All they are is money grabbing as you can’t advance without spending money. And the special events they have well let’s just say they are lacking. The creative team clearly have no creative spark as they keep running the exact same 4 special events which make the game boring as hell!!!!.Version: 1.7.3

Fun but also frustrating pay to progress gameThe game is fun until they introduce heroes, afterwards, the game comes to a screeching halt if you don’t have the right one or the hero isn’t the right level. Most of the time you can purchase upgrades using real cash or diamonds (diamonds can be earned but most likely purchased). If you don’t want to or can’t purchase the upgrade then the game slows to a crawl while you want to collect the resources necessary. From what I can tell, the heroes and resources required to upgrade arrive randomly so you can’t plan on how to acquire them without purchase. Progress in the 3 day events reset after the event is over so you lose anything you buy and upgrades to make the overall game more playable are subscriptions (some monthly and some weekly). If you don’t mind the play parameters, the game can be a lot of fun but beware that it could be a black hole for your cash and time..Version: 1.1.6

The need for heroes completely ruins itNow let me just start with the fact that I was completely obsessed with the game when i first started playing it as the graphics were really pretty and the fast progression was satisfying. …HOWEVER, after levelling update to the new cities a couple of times i have been completely blocked from progress due to a complete inability to get any heroes, which it seems like is left completely to chance (and luck which i don’t seem to be getting at all). I like the idea of having heroes to help level up the different buildings but not when it mean that without them you can’t do anything at all. This means that progression has basically come to a standstill and i’m unable to get the resources i need to even complete the task without waiting for hours at a time (or spending ridiculous amounts of money), and all of my workers are constantly starving and dying whilst there is nothing i can do about it. For example, my output on food at the moment is about 18 units every 12 seconds, when i need 140 to make one single meal. it’s just not enough to feed them all and i’m lucky if i get maybe three dishes made before the designated meal time. as a result, the workers are starving and working even slower, which is just creating this endless loop of no progression. It’s such a shame because i really did enjoy the game and it had great potential when i started playing but it quickly became more stressful than anything..Version: 1.2.4

Eventually Boring..Played this game for around 2 months, managed to get to city 7 and now at the point where I’m not really making any progress in the game or ticking off any tasks which was really good for the few first cities and made the game interesting. I find myself going on the game with heroes now unlocked and unable to get them (Unless I make purchases, which the game obviously wants you to do..) Therefore making the game completely uninteresting and pointless. I think the developers really need to read these reviews and make improvements to the game where people can actually progress and not be waiting a week to upgrade one building, instead they crave money and that’s all they care about.. Do yourself a favour and don’t download this game and please don’t get sucked in to buying heroes and other rubbish this game offers, find another game to play where it’s actually fun to progress and has more things to do!.Version: 1.0.10

Great Game, Giant IssuesTo start off I loved this game initially, it was an even level of grinding for resources and then getting rewarded by being able to progress. But the issues arise when you start progressing further into the story and into the harder cities and realize the only way to get the heroes you need (which are used for resources you must have to progress) is essentially to buy them the first time they pop up in the shop, hope to get them in a random pack if you miss your chance, or grind fanatically during events to maybe get them. You can of course grind for weeks to slowly amass enough resources to move to the next city but by the time you do that you essentially have to start over and it’s not worth the time spent just clicking and waiting ages to collect resources. It has a lot of potential to be a great game, but having to spend maybe more than ten dollars attempting to get a character to progress the story is ridiculous, paying to unlock skins and other fun things is great but paying to progress is incredibly frustrating as even if you do buy the pack you aren’t always guaranteed to get the hero you need..Version: 1.1.6

All about $$$If you plan to spend money to progress in game. This one is for you. Spend $$$ to progress otherwise get stuck is what this game is all about. Stupid game…...Version: 1.0.10

Pretty decent but wish a few things for were differentObviously I like it as I’ve had it for a while but something that is funny is the mini games/events that happen every couple days are the best part of the game and I end up just waiting for them. As I saw someone else say it does get frustrating when you desperately need a hero or an upgrade. Also something else is change if the layout of the maps, apart from moving around the buildings it is the same very time, extremely minimal landscape changes so it’s not that exciting moving to a new map..Version: 1.1.5

The hero mechanicsThe game is good but I hate the hero mechanics. It’s so annoying when u finish the first 2 chapters which is bassically the tutorial. For e.g I have collected every single hero where I’m up to except one. And when I get free chests it’s always ones I already have. Plz make when u open chest it gives u the hero u don’t have then it gives what u already have..Version: 1.3.1

Back to prev citiesWhy can’t I go back to my previous cities anymore? I liked being able to go back to keep upgrading buildings I hadn’t finished even though I had moved on to the next city. Please bring it back I was close to maxing out all the buildings of my fourth city.Version: 1.4.5

JunkSpent many hours on this game. It does an update and it’s complete wrecked. Missing building, Jammed gameplay. Uninstalled and reinstalled and it’s still broken. Zero star rating from me 🤬.Version: 1.3.1

Hope you have moneyYet another mobile game where you have to pay to enjoy it. Why can’t we have the good old days back? Do people even remember those days?.Version: 1.1.3

Great until 3rd CityI have the same comments as everyone else. This game is really fun, well done and with nice progression, and the rewards feel proportional up until city three. Then, instead of the heroes you need to being given out as you finish tasks, suddenly one vital hero is behind a pay wall. You can’t put more than one worker in a key building, no matter how much you upgrade. Progress grinds to a halt, and there’s no real point in logging in more than every couple of hours to grab your rewards and make hope is enough for one tiny upgrade. I love supporting developers who make good games. I’m always happy to throw money towards them because I know how expensive it is to make and maintain a mobile game. But the Hero paywall feels bad; also, $10 a week or $20 per month to go ad free is outrageous. Don’t respond to this and say you’d like my feedback on how to improve, because I’m giving it here: (1) don’t suddenly put heroes behind a paywall after you’ve led your gamers to believe that they’ll be handed out as rewards, and (2) lower the fee by about 90% for ad free (make it a one time fee or up at $1-$2 per month). Or don’t offer it at all, if ad revenue is so important to your income..Version: 1.0.6

Close but missed its mark, pay to play.It reminds me a lot of the pc game frost punk, which I assume is where the idea generated from because it is very very similar, but it failed to hit its mark. I dislike that u move from city to city but can overlook that it was until I got to the 3rd or 4th city that the issue began. Do to mobile games being the same money hungry game over and over again they put “hero's” into the game. I didn’t have much of issue with it at first but when I arrived in the 3rd or 4th city you need a hero for the iron mine, unfortunately no matter what I did I could not unlock him none of the missions have crates that would give me that hero and the free crates won’t either, I can’t progress anymore because of it and I’m not gonna spend money on the game just so I can play it. I do not recommend this game because of this reason, you can’t force your players to spend money just to progress. Again do not recommend do not play or spend money on..Version: 1.0.10

Version 1.7.1Such a terrible update… every building you visit it glows the unlocked spots for workers , yet the game makes it impossible to gain hero cards and upgradable resources, it definitely makes it pay to win , there’s countless levels why do you make it so hard to excel. Moving around your city in the new update blurs your workers for no reason, makes it harder to see who’s working/tired/hungry. Decent game overall but the new update and making hero’s hard to upgrade which means countless workers not doing anything to help is a dragggg.Version: 1.7.1

Too reliant on the heroesFun gameplay, could play this for months. However, once you reach the third city you become locked out from progressing at a reasonable pace due to you needing some heroes that you’re gonna find very hard to obtain unless you buy them with real money. I like the hero system but needing them to be able to put workers in a building just makes this game frustrating. This probably wouldn't be an issue if you were still receiving heroes from doing tasks at this point but they give that up after the second city. Literally my only issue with the game but it’s such a big issue it almost completely ruins this game. If you just kept the crate rewards for doing tasks then at least i would just feel unlucky but currently it feels like I’m being kept behind a gate i can only open if i pay £6.99 and thats just for this city who knows how much I’ll need to pay next time..Version: 1.0.9

Not a long lasting draw to playThe game is fun in the beginning, but feels stale even after visiting the 4th, 5th, etc city. If you follow the tasks you can finish the city relatively quickly, only to start over and try to do the same exact tasks. Also, the events feel like a distraction and are a bit annoying. You have to do an event and do the exact (or mostly) same tasks as your main city, have to grow heroes and upgrade buildings, for prizes to use in your main quests. It would be better to just do away with the events and allow in game achievements to get resources and gems to progress your main city. Both main game and events within the game have an almost identical goal, so it feels like double the work for really little reason. Also the map ‘fights’ feel disconnected a bit. There doesn’t seem to be a big pull to do them other than they are there. Why not have the game be just about building the city, allowing the player to earn extra resources and hero cards within that part of the game..Version: 1.1.2

TrashTrash. Trash trash asf, waste of time viewing ads.Version: 1.2.5

Paywall hurdlesThe game was fun for the first two levels, but the third level is nearly impossible to progress on because the heroes needed for leveling up the productions, you don’t get as task rewards anymore. Apparently you can buy them but putting game progress behind a paywall on a “free to play” game is despicable. I am about ready to delete this game. To fix this, the heroes should become available again as task rewards, or the additional production slots should be available without the heroes..Version: 1.0.10

Battery Drain and Too Reliant on HeroesWhen I first downloaded this game, I was totally obsessed and played non-stop for hours. However, I had to delete it from my phone due to the fact that it had become far too reliant on heroes. Fair enough that they exist, but for them to actually stop you from being able to do ANYTHING is ridiculous and it’s luck on whether you get any heroes is beyond messed up. It led to my heroes revolting (a concept that isn’t even explained how to stop or deal with properly), they starved and died, worked slower due to lack of resources and my need to overwork them just to get enough resources to make it through the night. Having heroes should be a fun addition, not a total reliance! They shouldn’t be this overpowered! Also, it was draining my battery so fast that it was another big reason why I had to remove it from my phone. It would be a lot easier if they had a battery saver option, like a few other games I play do. I happily accept less in terms of graphics if it means I can actually play the game! If these problems are solved, I would be the first to re-download this game because it was super fun..Version: 1.4.2

A great game, but spoiled by the issue with progressionI really like this game. The game play is really good. However, I find the need to constantly buy in app purchases to upgrade heroes a problem. Without an upgraded hero, you will suffer with either the lack of speed of production, or no production at all. It’s seems that as you progress to new cities, you are supposed to upgrade your heroes. You can’t unless you are willing to spend. The daily rewards do include hero cards, but I have found that you never really get the hero cards that matter. For example, I always get a medic hero card, when I really need a miner, or a food producer. So sadly, I’ve deleted the game because I can’t keep spending money on upgrading heroes, which really impacts the game play..Version: 1.7.10

Frozen CityThis app was very fun and almost addicting in the start. Very fun, love how the idle feature works. Now time for the thing that ruined it for me, I’m on abandoned mine level, and you need Arthur, I haven’t gotten him yet, as of this post, and my city can’t function without him, since he is the source of coal. Very disappointed with how everything came to this..Version: 1.8.1
