FreeCell for Negative User Reviews

I used to love this gameBefore they decided I was an idiot who needed light up cards to tell me which ones I could move..Version: 5.0.2

Highly offensive privacy policyI’m sorry Moilityware, but you have no business collecting and sharing all of my personal data and biometric data such as fingerprints and retinal scans. Nor do you have any business snooping on which websites I am visiting, my browsing history, or internet searches. Anyone that feels justified using such blatant violations of individual privacy for their own purposes should be prosecuted. It is offensive. You are now uninstalled..Version: 5.4.0

Too Many AdvertisementsThis is a good game but the advertising nuisance makes me think I may have to get rid of it.Version: 5.4.0

Loading issuesThe latest updates have messed up the loading and the last update has made it even worse. Long delay waiting to play.Version: 5.1.1

Why?The new clean, modern look leaves me cold. I accept that change is sometimes for the best but why, oh why does the game have to have these new goals and looks when it was working well? Annoying, irritating, messy are a few adjectives which spring to mind. The game itself is fine but I would so dearly like to be able to opt out of the daily goals and new look. The game is a solitaire one which means one player, l do not need or want or require to know how well I am doing compared to other players. If changes must be made could a 'return to previous version' button be included please. I miss the replay this deal option too. I spent many happy hours playing the previous version but now ...... I can't see myself playing as often or for as long. Shame..Version: 4.0.3

Good gameI play Solitaire, FreeCell, spider solitaire, & pyramid every day, and they are all good games to challenge your mind, but I wish the developer would fix an annoying bug. Once you’ve won enough games the game will tell you that you’ve achieved a certain level. However when you go to the list of levels, that level doesn’t appear in the list and despite trying, you can never scroll down any further. I’ve reported it to the developer, but despite what he says about reading reviews, they don’t pay attention. I find that annoying. I do wish there was some consistency between the games about where the daily goals button appears. I also wish the developer would show the actual time in the upper corner like he does in one game. I often use the games to kill time before having to leave for an appointment. It would be nice to be able to see the time while playing, regardless of the game..Version: 5.4.0

Mew update is irritatingSorry but the new look version is annoying me after just a few minutes play. Won't stop throwing Game Centre messages at me or trying to get me to log in. I don't want to play against others, it's solitaire. If I am interested in my placing I will go and look without all the visual 'look at me' spam. Please revert back. 2 stars because the game itself is still ok..Version: 4.0.3

BugBug when you drag card over other. Like black king into empty slot or red queen over black king.Version: 4.0.3

Free CellIt’s a great game... very good for the brain.... Thank you!.Version: 5.0.3

New Free CellDreadful! Don't bother upgrading. The look and feel is retrograde step.Version: 4.0.3

More flash than substance in updateMost of the good stuff is still there but lots of flashy new stuff that's irrelevant to me (new levels, daily goals, new look). The toolbar at the bottom still disappears which is irritating - why can't it just stay visible? One definite negative - it no longer tells you when you're in the top five, you have to press an icon to look at the leaderboard if you want to know where you scored..Version: 4.0.3

Unnecessary "Upgrade"What was a beautifully implemented game with a tidy, clean interface has been turned into an untidy, messy experience with various dialogue boxes popping up pertaining to "game levels" and other "competitive" features. Why this needs to be part of patience (or "solitaire" - the clue is in the name), where you play against the cards, I can not imagine. Please don't spoil any more games in this way. This game could perhaps be salvaged by allowing the user to turn off all these unnecessary features and revert to the simple interface we used to have..Version: 4.0.3

UpdateI do like some of the new things in the update, but dislike others. I would really like to see something that indicates the difficulty level of each deal, as well as your ID mentioned if you get a new low # of moves in a deal. Too much weight is given to how fast a deal is solved, and how strategically it is done is completely ignored. And all the points and levels are pretty dumb, they need to go..Version: 5.4.0

SolitaireToo many ads.Version: 5.0.3

Irritating new animations can’t be turned offFree cell has added three impossible to turn off features that make the game so irritating that I have deleted it. Stacks of cards that can be moved are highlighted, visually obscuring the view of the entire board just enough to force the player to really concentrate. But this is exactly the sort of game one plays while doing something else - like watching tv sports. Suggested moves now also subtly pulsate distracting the player further. They don’t need to suggest that an ace can be moved - anyone knows that! and some of us attempt to win before playing any Aces to the suit piles so this useless ‘suggestion’ keeps pulsating. For people whop, any in the dark - say while your partner is sleeping next to you - the ultimate irritation is the little visual explosion if an Ace is moved to the suit piles. Not buying a game from this irritating game developer again..Version: 5.4.0

Paid for a game that won’t let me play unless I agree for them to steal my private dataI don’t have the option to decline if I want to play. I’m no lawyer but my understanding is that this is illegal in the EU. I would like a refund please..Version: 5.0.0

Good game but with issuesI enjoy playing this version of freecell, but have found two issues that are irritating. First, there is great emphasis on goals and striving to achieve new levels. That’s not why I play solitaire. I play solitaire to relax. I wish I could turn off all the flashing notifications and just enjoy the game. The other issue is this. I like to play winnable games. On a recent flight to Alaska, I tried to play and was told that the “winnable game” option was only available when connected to WIFI. WHAT???!!! I travel a lot internationally, and am often out of WIFI range! Why can’t they include a selection of winable games that can be available offline? If these two issues were corrected, I would gladly give this game 5 stars..Version: 4.0.3

Game spoiledI used to enjoy this game for the daily challenge. Now, every time I open the game, I am pestered to sign in to Game Centre. I do not want or need to sign in to Game Centre. I never have used Game Centre. There appears to be no way in settings to turn this OFF. This game has now joined Solitaire by the same developer in being deleted due to this annoyance. Update: Re-installing the game APPEARS to have resolved the issue, however, I have, by deleting and re-installing, lost all my previous results and scores. If this issue with Game Centre resurfaces, I will not re-install again..Version: 5.4.0

“Elegant” They Say? HmmmmThe 5.0.2 update user interface is not “elegant”, as stated in the app upgrade info box - at least not to my tastes in a user interface. The sharp, crisp design of the previous version was superior. The “blockiness” of the current version has a look seen in games designed for the very young. Sacrificed in this disappointing “upgrade” is the system clock in the top area of the screen above the playing board. That omission is just dumb... but necessary with the designers’ penchant for a game experience most appreciated by a child of 5 years old. Another “annoyance”... The poorly considered change in how the cards are “flushed” to the home piles when all the cards have been revealed in a low to high arrangement..Version: 5.0.2

MobilityPlease get rid of the crappy intro page ....it just stalls the game, as well as the annoying 'welcome back' popup.Version: 5.0.3

Previous Version Was BetterWhilst I don't mind the 'fresh new look' of this version, there was nothing wrong with the old look. The daily goals are too easy, so I don't need that, either. I usually play random deals, and was recently holidaying where there is no mobile reception, and was surprised to find that I couldn't play a random deal, because I was not connected to the internet. (Curiously, I could select a numbered deal, or do the daily goals.) I always keep the Game Centre turned off, so I found this a little strange – there's no reason why I should need to be connected to the internet. Not sure what you guys are doing to my data, behind the scenes, but whatever it is, you're not having it. I reloaded the previous version and voila – able to play whilst not connected to the internet! The previous version is a five-star game, but due to the unnecessary data theft, this version loses two stars..Version: 4.0.3

Changes to Free Cell AppThis was one of my favorite card games until the recent changes made to the game. I am extremely disappointed in the changes and would give 5 stars just to have it restored to the way it was. It is annoying to constantly be asked what level I want to be on or the stupid new point system. Don't fix it when it's not broke. This game used to be relaxing, but not anymore. I will not recommend this game to anymore of my friends. I hope you will fix this and stop the annoying games that pop up after each completed play. I.Version: 4.0.3

Update not as good IMOUsed to be a nice, simple interface. Then it was updated with unnecessary bells and whistles that do not enhance gameplay in the slightest..Version: 4.0.3

Can’t transfer scores from free versionHaving been a user of the free app and enjoying it, I decided to support the developer and buy the paid app. Turns out that my scores can not be transferred across from the free version though. Why not have an upgrade path inside the app???.Version: 4.0.3

DisappointedBy Deb Although I like the design of the new update,I am really disappointed at the new format for the daily goals. As a senior I use this as a daily mental challenge.I liked the ability to be able to select the daily goal choice, now however you have limited it to only three selections daily. Not sure why it matters to you whether I select an easier goal over a harder one.I always looked forward to doing the daily goals with my morning coffee now I'm not sure I will continue playing this game..Version: 5.0.0

Worst update in historyI don’t like any part of this update. Disgusting update. I’ve lost years of score, many deck faces and backs, many boards, “titles” and hundreds of thousands of points..Version: 5.0.0

Increased ad timeI have had this game for many years. I play it daily. I am very disappointed that the time the ads run has been increased. I don’t want to see silly, what I would class as children’s games, that I have absolutely no interest in. There is no way, that I can see, of shutting them off quickly. If I could purchase an ad free version (at a reasonable price) I would..Version: 5.4.0

November update disappoints. Don’t update.Beware, there’s a BIG change that’s not in the new description! I used to use the three daily goals to encourage me to become a better player. They could be changed many times until I found goals that met my playing ability. Now, the game limits me to making only three changes per day. Most of the goals are way over my head, so I have to settle for unattainable goals. Basically, this means I can’t enjoy the entire experience of reaching a goal I set for myself ... so I don’t try anymore. PLEASE CHANGE THIS BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE..Version: 5.0.0

Buggy and unreliableThe previous version was great. Unfortunately the addition of new ‘features’ has resulted in the app being almost unusable. -crashes when any other app takes focus - such as when a reminder or notification occurs, or when switching to and back from another app. -takes ages to load - sometimes up to 2 mins -crashes 22-25 seconds into every 6th game or so -freezes often - then when it unfreezes the timer suddenly updates If I could reinstall without losing all the data, I would, as it is, I hope these issues are fixed soon.Version: 5.1.2

Doesn’t run alongside VPNI have to pause my Surfshark VPN client to run the daily challenge. I also own the solitaire game from the same provider and that runs okay alongside my VPN. They know that this is an issue because VPN is included in their troubleshooting information. The objective with VPN is to protect personal information so I don’t understand why they exclude the use of both simultaneously..Version: 5.4.0
