Amazon Kindle for Negative User Reviews

Great App but don’t like new changes.I love the Kindle app but I don’t like the new Uncollected folder. I liked it when there was the collections separate, but then you could see all books in one place & then there was the books that you had downloaded. This new format, you can’t easily see which books are already downloaded. I always download new books when I get them, but don’t always read straight away. This way it’s not easy to see the downloaded books..Version: 6.11.2

Mostly good but frustratingI keep turning off popular highlights and the app keeps turning them back on when I’m not looking. There doesn’t seem to be any way to report issues just going around in circles through help pages. I know how to turn them off, I just want to know how to make them stay off! Compatibility is also an issue between devices. The same book will only measure progress in pages on one device / app and in “location” on another which causes issues when switching between devices. Rant over. This app is at least responsive, has good display options and the new series grouping option is fabulous. It would be nice if it had text to speech built in like the old kindle keyboard used to have, but I guess that would impact audible sales..Version: 6.49

Bad grammarIt’s great to read these books again however it’s frustrating because: too many words are misspelled i.e ‘the’ instead of ‘they’ along with sooooooo many other words. Full stops in the wrong place etc etc. I should have bought the actual books. I’ve now paid for fifty novels in a series, as a package. I’ve only read two and a half so far. I’ll keep reading although I’m very disappointed.Version: 6.79

No split screenNo split screen option on IPP so it useless for work or study.Version: 6.3.1

Very poorThe organization of the library is extremely poor, no way to manually organize books, no way to put books in the same series by different authors together. I have over a 1000 books on my tablet but avoid amazon (kindle) app because it’s impossible to organize a library on it..Version: 6.69

TerribleDoesn't work. Most of my Kindle books are now unreadable with this app. Looking fo alternatives. I'll probably stop all Kindle books purchases.K.Version: 6.85.2

Kindle for iPhone App Won’t Stay Open & Freezes!!This App worked for a long time but now…it sucks! Fix the App so it stays open & doesn’t freeze! I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled and turned off & on wifi. Still freezes. When I select “Report a Problem” it says no reporting available. When I select Developer Website it brings me to a bunch of problems or helps & Freezing App is NOT one of them. Fix the App already!.Version: 6.49

Long time since I used it then crashedLong time since I used it then crashed no matter how many times I had restart the device. I had to uninstall and install it again. Unsure if it will happen again. The app itself is a good app to keep all the books that was downloaded either free or purchased in one little area and I love how it has more options to turn the pages and in this case scrolling the page down for more :).Version: 6.65

Don’t deal with Amazon because benefits change without notice.I paid for Amazon Prime and I was getting as a benefit free Kindle and Amazon music. Now you no longer get these and you get to pay for them as a money grab. They changed a contract that I agreed to pay an amount for prime membership and perks and now the perks are gone!.Version: 6.53

Not working on new iOS 16+Just hangs on new iPhone pro and doesn’t go past sign in screen ( keyboard is disabled at this point and doesn’t let me fill up my credentials ).Version: 6.67

A downgrade from a reading perspectiveWhat happened to Dark mode? The home screen is too bright. What happend to the collections I carefully assembled? They are gone. I prefer the classic app..Version: 6.85.2

When an update goes wrong…I’ve used this app for years and I’ve loved it. Today, though, with yesterdays update, I’m missing about half on my purchased books. This is not good. What happened? I’ve tried re-booting my iPad but that doesn’t work. What’s going on?.Version: 6.67

Kindle has become less user friendlyKindle used to be good, but the usability has slowly deteriorated in the last wee while and I have found the customer support track very unhelpful! (Just sends you to a website with frequent problems but no clear way to contact someone). Options on the kindle itself doesn’t do what they say, and there is limited options to begin with. Plus trying to purchase books from a sample are very fiddly and a real pain..Version: 6.49

App cutting outApp can’t be used. Keeps cutting out and can’t open any books. Needs an update!.Version: 7.0

EReader developersAs time passes, there will be increasing demand from users for the full implementation of HTML5, CSS3, and ePub3 in reflowable-text eReaders. The features that users could be experiencing as they read include video, audio, JavaScript, background images, embedded fonts, and much more. The current requirement that eBooks with embedded media use the fixed-layout format is inappropriate when text-based eBooks have media designed to flow along with the text. That requirement can result in many consecutive pages of fixed-layout text that can’t be resized. Fixed-layout is for magazine-type eBooks. The current implementation of reflowable text is for text-only eBooks, like traditional novels. There should be a third option available that utilizes all the features of ePub3. Currently, the display of media in reflowable-text eReaders is very haphazard, with images or videos halfway off the page or not displayed at all. Scripts in JavaScript are ignored or appear as text in the body text. If a user pays extra for a multimedia eBook, they would like to experience the media they paid for. Please provide users and designers a third option, multimedia-text, in addition to reflowable-text and fixed-layout. Thinking that reflowable-text eBooks don’t need video or audio is like Norma Desmond saying she’d had the eyes of the world but they wanted their ears too. Was she right? Movies don’t need soundtracks? Please allow eReaders to continue evolving..Version: 6.32.1

Kindle Oasis disappointing (but book service good)I bought a kindle when it first came out and found it very handy especially when travelling. It broke after a couple of years. After a long gap, a year ago I bought a Kindle Oasis because I thought I might as well get the best. So far I have found it disappointing for quite a few reasons. First, it is too big to slip into an inside pocket of a jacket. Secondly it is too slippery to hold comfortably. I bought a case which works but now it’s no longer handy. Thirdly the touch screen is a real pain. If you brush it by accident you use your place. Switching the touch screen off means an awkward excursion into the menus (lock Screen button needed). Fourthly the menus are slow, clumsy and not intuitive - software feels very dated. Fifth the on screen information is not very helpful. In other respects the performance is just OK. The Kindle app on my iPhone works much better. After a year I don’t like it much - the case is big, slippery and the software is rough around the edges. A pity because the Kindle book service is excellent and there is great potential for a top quality Kindle reader. But I’m afraid the Oasis is just an expensive cheap one..Version: 6.70.1

The update that took 7 years to makeSo what was announced with much fanfare as an "enhanced book reading and library management experience" is nothing but the long overdue addition of collection management that the Kindle app on every other device already has. Wow. Took Amazon only 7 years. Colour me impressed. But wait, there are more "enhancements": They increased the spacing between book covers in Grid view - a waste of screen estate at the expense of people with ageing eyes, because the covers are now smaller than before and cannot be enlarged. Same with the fonts for the collection titles: they are tiny and there's no way to change that. There are still no tags to organize your books, or drag and drop to move books into collections, or something as basic as a 'Select all' function: When you download a larger library you have to select every book individually. What a joke..Version: 6.85.2

Like the app more than the conceptI like the app on my iPad and iPhone. But I don’t like the fact I don’t own the books. I can’t give them to my son when I’m done. And so on. This is a real reduction in rights..Version: 6.69.1

Kindle on iPhoneA great application. As the iPhone is always in my pocket the app. Is always available to open up my current book and fill in any spare time. My only concern is mixing up that even when connected to the internet, it will not allow me to buy from the App Store. I have to buy and download from my kindle. Other improvements are required in the collections part of the app, namely an automatic folder to store titles whichever are not allocated to any other erfolder(pending the decision of a suitable permanent folder) and the forability to create sub-hfolders. Of secondary importance is the poor quality of the editing of some of the stories. Gender errors ie he/she and her/him etc. are distracting. Likewise mixing up character names can be very annoying..Version: 6.48

Dislike latest changeI do not like the search change. I can no longer find an author in my ebooks by first letter. It is a pain to go down the list of all my books to find an S or a T, not to mention a W!.Version: 6.48.2

Who made some bad update choicesOMG I love my kindle app but wow some nitwit did some horrid updates this time. The dark mode feature has been removed, the A-Z index has been removed. And these are just the immediate things I’ve noticed. You can’t tell me people weren’t using these features. I know my daughter is having kittens over the dark mode not longer being available as she’s dyslexic and has light sensitivity so trying to see what’s in her library pain, but also because she can’t spell the greatest having the A-Z option removed is just making her experience all the more torturous. So there has now been two app updates since I posted my original review and guess what Kindle app designers aren’t listening to what the users are complaining about. The whole idea should be to make this app as user friendly as possible and for all people instead the app has taken a giant step backwards. Please fix this app and make it user friendly for all again..Version: 6.44

Handwriting with Apple PencilI hope you guys would consider to support handwriting with Apple Pencil. This would be very helpful to take notes just on the book pages. Would work well with study books. And please improve stability when working on split screen. Every time I come back from other apps, the kindle app would crash and have to restart..Version: 6.16.1

Terrible updateJust downloaded the new update and now my kindle will not open. Worked perfectly before Terrible update.Version: 6.60

A good app but a bit NQROverall this app isn't that bad but IMO it seriously lacks in two areas. 1. When looking at book titles in my library it is very rare to be able to read the entire title in the two lines shpwn, in my case partially due to the fact that so many of the 800 or so books in my kindle collection are part of a series which means that the part of the name I so often need which is 'Book #'. 2. My other gripe is one that might go a long way to resolving the one above is that although when reading a book on my iPhone I can view the pages in Portrait or Landscape the Library list is Portrait view only. Fixing these would easily make the app 4 or even 5 stars..Version: 6.10

InconvientCan’t purchase books from app very inconvient.Version: 6.37

Good, but could be betterI like the fact that a section of text can be highlighted no matter how long it is. The entire highlighted text will show up on one page that can then be reviewed. Which means all the important parts of the book can be read right there without having to jump to the page(s) to read the whole highlighted text and then having to jump back. Much more efficient when reviewing the important parts of a book. I also like that the time can be displayed where it can be read while reading. I do wish that there was an option to show how many pages are left in the chapter as the time can be. While occasionally the two pop up’s that happen when text is highlighted are useful, normally they are just a pain and get in the way. I wish those could be turned off or on depending upon one’s preference. Additionally it would be nice to be able to modify the start and stopping points of already highlighted text instead of having to delete and highlight it again. I can’t tell you how many times I think that I have selected just the text I want highlighted only to find extra words suddenly added to it. There seems to be some algorithm at play that thinks it knows better than the reader what needs to be highlighted and constantly adds extra text to the selection..Version: 6.61

Unhappy since the updateIt seems like a petty thing to be annoyed over but Kindle has decided to link the colour of your home screen (ie black vs white) to whether you have your phone set to dark or light mode. Previously you could set this yourself. Now you can’t. I read everything on a black page and have had it set to black ever since I could choose to do so. It’s really frustrating that they’ve changed it (especially as I mostly read at night and a bright white homepage is pretty startling to your eyes). Despite being a small issue it really is annoying. I use the app a lot and though small it is something I’m now constantly having to deal with. There just doesn’t seem to be any good reason to have made it impossible to choose separately from your whole phone display in general, particularly when they had the option there before!.Version: 6.42

App crashes on loadLatest version crashes when I try to load using the most recent update to iOS. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app didn’t fix, so this is a significant app fail. All other apps are working fine..Version: 6.64

UserWould be helpful to have features that make Kindle more practical to use, such as a facility to export to a summary page/s ( with one single command) all the segments highlighted by the user while reading ( a command such as “ copy all the highlighted”. The summary could be kept in a separate section within the Kindle App if you do not wanted the summary to be exported somewhere else, but would be a very useful feature for the user. You could do something similar with the highlights that you already provide based on your analytics from what other users highlighted. Also, an audio feature would be very useful to allow the user to continue learning the content of the book when you cannot sit to read, not all your books in Kindle are available in Audible. You could offer this feature for free to Kindle users or give them the option ( by default, in all your Kindle titles ) at a reasonable cost and with a command that makes easy to operate the audio. This would add much value to many users..Version: 6.36

App Keeps CrashingThis app keeps crashing all of a sudden. I just read a forum. Many people with the same issue..Version: 7.0

Bug fixes don’t stop screen freezingWhy is it that every time I seem to open this reading app to attempt some work or leisure of any kind.. the book freezes in 10 seconds of opening the app… honestly if I could get a refund for the e-books and buy a PAPER BACK COPY.. I would.Version: 7.1

Passable but disappointedWhen I heard a new Kindle app was making its way to Mac, I was excited! However, the product we received is more or less a cut and paste of the iPad app, which makes me question why it wasn't readily available when Apple announced that iOS apps could operate on M1 Macs... I would love the ability for the app to hide items in the library or change to light mode in the library view without having to change the OS settings from dark mode to light mode. Also... the app does not natively run on Apple silicon... just makes me question how much effort Amazon really put into this app. EDIT 10/18: Amazon updated the app to run natively on Apple silicon. The app benefits greatly from a performance boost but the features are still lacking. Again... passable... but disappointed..Version: 6.85.3

ReviewBooks I’ve returned for a refund still show in my library despite multiple syncs and despite not being available to read. Very frustrating!.Version: 7.1

App keeps closingFor some reason my app just started to close as soon as I open it. I deleted it and downloaded it again and it still happens. I turned my phone off and back on and it still happens. I do not want to reset my phone to factory settings just to install this app because that is ridiculous for a single app to cause that much headache..Version: 7.0

Overall good but some issuesUsually very good, but like now, every now and then the app refuses to open, it’ll get stuck on the opening kindle screen then just force closes. It’s happened a few times over the years with my iPhones and is happening right now. Read online that it could be either my phone needs an update, the app needs an update or both but both are updated to the max. Also restarted my phone and nothing, deleted the app and nothing. I think the last time I’ve had this problem it took a few weeks to resolve so I just used my actual kindle but it’s a pain when I want to use my phone. So beware if you have an iPhone, it’s not that bad but maybe happens every once or twice a year. Also can’t buy books in app because I have an apple product. The joy..Version: 6.83

Kindle is crashing- started Jan. 2nd 2024Is anyone else having trouble with their kindle app? Mine will open but it closes instantly.Version: 7.0

Great App! Until It’s NotI like having access to all my books on the go, and the Kindle Unlimited subscription . HOWEVER! I am consistently looking at my reading insights and they track for a few weeks and then suddenly not register the last 8 days and 13 books read. I read a lot, I’m on the app almost every day, and for some reason it randomly stops tracking. Yes the app is up to date. Yes my phone is up to date. No I don’t understand why this does this. UPDATE: It’s not tracking again. 13 days after it started tracking again. This is beyond frustrating the support has been useless..Version: 6.49

The Reason for TabletsThe Kindle Paper White is undoubtedly the best device I ever bought. The Kindle app for the iPad is equally useful, especially for reading non-fiction or technical books which rely on pictures and diagrams. Books are what tablets are for. I hardly ever buy a paper book now. I sometimes receive one as a gift, but they end up, unread, in the Oxfam shop, since I don't want books taking up shelf space and they are awkward to carry about. The only problem I get these days is that my devices (5) don't always synchronise. I might set a bookmark on my iPad, but if I later open the same book in my Kindle it wants to go to an earlier page. One thing I would like is the ability to open more than one instance of Kindle so that I can have more than one book readily available. 30th May 2023 A pity that there is no provision for a hierarchy of collections such as [Fiction] > [Crime] > [Historical] : [Title].Version: 6.80

Export does not workThere is a feature of the app to allow highlighted text and bookmarks, in a kindle you are reading, to be saved in a part of the app called 'Notebook', and that all works well. However, here is the problem - there is a function in the Notebook page to allow the user to Export the Notebook. However this functionality does not work. It goes so far and then puts up an error message to say, effectively, you need to add an email address. But there is no place to input an email address and the functionality comes to a dead end and simply doesn't work. Not one of your staff was willing to say they did not know how to solve the problem, or say, simply that this functionality doesn't work. They also, when taking the call did not read and understand from the call history what prior associates had already tried, and so they repeated the same suggestions. Matthew was particularly a poor associate. This whole call was a very bad experience and I could sense the incompetence of the staff to deal with my call. I sent a screen shot of the "Email Account Not Set Up" message which clearly shows the problem and is the best place for your developers to start if they want to try and correct this dead end. I hope from my response that your staff can be helped to improve their support and that reading the call history may be used to show how not to answer a support chat..Version: 6.61

Getting rid of mobiThe files I’m sending to my kindle have terrible formatting on the kindle app after sending them any other way besides mobi. I’ll just go back to the books app on my iPhone if mobi is taken away for good. That’s what opens automatically whenever my phone downloads epub files anyway. The pdf files have awful formatting compared to my current mobi files even when I select to have formatting fitted for the kindle device. If it’s not broken why is it being fixed. If I wanted to read files with new updates I’ll send them that way but that doesn’t mean you have to completely get rid of other ways of sending documents. Also the thumbnails for the files show the first page when they’re mobi but they don’t as a PDF so it’s harder to easily look through what’s downloaded. On top of all that there’s a huge delay when sending PDF compared to mobi documents that show up seconds later. -old review 4/5 I have heard you can connect it to good reads but I use my kindle for a lot more than just books and knowing when something was downloaded and when it was finished would be really helpful. Being able to sort by download date would be far more helpful to me than most recently opened. Everything else is great. — mobi is officially gone and it’s saying epub is not compatible.Version: 7.0

Fix sync issueI’m getting really tired of constantly having to re-install the app to fix the sync issue. This happens to me almost weekly and it’s very frustrating. Please fix..Version: 6.32.1

Kindle Store getting in the way of readingLatest annoyance: the screen with info, reviews, etc., that pops up when I first open a book. Seriously, Amazon? I already bought the damn book; could you just let me read it? Default view used to be my library and now I have to hit the Library tab to get to it. Yes, this is a little thing but there doesn’t seem to be a way to configure the Library tab as the default view. I use the app entirely for reading, and this gets in the way. Searches from the app also get me results from the store. I want to find what I already own but you apparently can’t configure that. Amazon search has also really become useless in general, which does not help. The paradox here is that the more I see of the store in the app the less likely I am to buy anything. I use the app to read what I already have. If you want me to buy, back off and let me read. It does not help that I am getting unwanted notifications inside the app (“the Hungarian edition of your favorite author’s book is out!”) or that Amazon’s recommendations are terrible (Page Turners Just For You has as its first recommendation The Big Book of Stock Trading Strategies, a book I am never going to read). Reading books on it is fine, fortunately..Version: 6.46

Bad Update or Old Phone?I’m not sure if it’s my phone (I have an iPhone XR) or if it’s the app itself. Every time I load Kindle it either freezes within seconds of using it, or crashes. Please fix this bug!.Version: 6.69.1

No Customer SupportObviously a good app overall, but I’ve been having trouble with so many things… Marketplace issues, and purchase problems. I also live in New Zealand and seems impossible to reach Customer Support. That’s a major problem for me. I have more luck reaching America’s Customer Support than Australia’s Customer Support, which is ridiculous considering Australia hosts an entire market, and is right next door to NZ. This needs fixing ASAP!.Version: 6.85

Needs improvementI like reading books on Kindle, but I read A LOT. I mean, A LOT. Over the years I’ve accumulated a ton of books. And even if I’m caught up in a series, if I stumble over a book that I want to read, especially if it’s on sale, I’ll add it to my library. It is hard now to scroll down through the books in my library and find the ones I’ve bought but haven’t read yet. It’d be great if we had the settings option of automatically archiving books once we reach the end. Or at least sort books so the new ones come to the top. I shouldn’t have to suggest this. It seems like common sense. And I even registered a request for it years ago and they still haven’t done it. And also, for some reason my app keeps adding Kindle accounts. I think I’m up to six or so, even though I only use Kindle on two devices. So my iPhone app no longer syncs furthest read with my iPad app. Argh. Why does it do this? I tried emailing for support but they tell me I have to call. Calls for help force me to sit there for ages on hold until someone picks up, and it seems like it takes MUCH longer to get things sorted out than if I could just get some simple written instructions. It’d be great if they valued my time..Version: 6.31

App Note-Taking Gone AwryDuring 2023 my ipad Kindle app developed a quirk making it just about impossible to take notes. The auto save function seems to be the problem. It interferes with the process of writing the note. Then toward the end of the year, while I'm trying to write a note, the keyboard repeatedly and suddenly switches from my swiping keyboard to an alternative (default?) keyboard in the middle of my writing,m losing the last word. (Again, there seems to be a correlation with the auto-save.) With both of these problems, I have to spend too much time correcting my notes. I've given up using the app, and I'm confining my study to my Windows version. I tried to find where I could turn off the auto-save, but couldn't find such a solution. This is not happening on any other app on my ipad..Version: 7.0

I wish they wouldn’t keep adding bitsIt’s not a bad app, easy to use more or less but why do they keep adding bits you can’t get rid of? In particular that dreadful button about ‘see more reading insights’. I don’t want to see more reading insights. I don’t care about reading insights but there’s no getting rid of it. Otherwise, it might be nice, when you have kindle unlimited and you have all the titles youu’re allowed but there’s one you prefer, to be able to have another look at summaries so you can decide which one to return and borrow another time. Also, there’s no way to remove titles from your wish list on the app. there are three on mine, I don’t actually want any of them. I don’t like long series and i don’t read them since, in my experience, they’re mainly author ego massage but you can’t get rid of those either. As for the app itself well, as I say, fairly easy to use though some of the books are a pain to close with voiceover on. What tends to happen is you get a list of contents instead of ‘close book’ which is really annoying..Version: 6.87

COULD be amazing!Reading is my absolute life!! So kindle is the obvious choice for reading apps… there is a few major flaws in the app though and it drives me absolutely insane!!! Why when you finish a book does it not bring up the next book in the series?! Why do you have to go searching for the second, third & fourth etc etc book? I use Scribd a lot and while it isn’t perfect it is far superior in that sense! iBooks does the same… as soon as you finish one book it throws up an option to go to the next… it’s so simple yet so irritating! Also when you get to the end of a book and the authors details come up why can’t you tap on the author and all of their books on the app come up?! Complete miss on the apps behalf! Fix these and it will be literally perfect!!! It’s like an early 2000’s app trying to be cool in 2023! Why has this not been updated for iPhone? Very very strange!!!.Version: 7.0

Ups and DownsWhile I appreciate that the new app bundles the books by series, I do not enjoy the changes they made to navigation. With over 400 books in my library so far, I obviously have more than a single page's worth of authors for any given letter of the alphabet. Unfortunately, when switching to view my library by author, the scroll bar likes to disappear entirely (and of course the old up and down arrows don't work either). Replacing these basic features is a list of letters along the right hand side. Choosing one of those letters lets you jump to the authors whose names begin with that letter. This of course means that it is a downright pain in the *** if you wanted to read something by an author that wasn't on that first "page" of that letter..Version: 7.0

Doesn't recognize that there's a world outside the USI have Amazon accounts on the Canadian and American websites. When I try to log in to the Canadian account (where my new Kindle should be attached to but won't ... separate issue), it won't recognize the account. But it has no problem logging in to the US account. When are companies going to recognize that the universe doesn't end at the American border?.Version: 7.0

The app isn’t workingWon’t let me log in and keeps crashing.Version: 7.0

Crashes on launchVersion 6.6 crashes upon launch. Who tests these programs before releasing them?.Version: 6.60

App needs some workThis app is not user friendly. I tried it a while back, but compared to another app I was trying at the same time (Kobo), the Kindle app was just lacking. It downloaded books in full automatically, cluttering up my iPad, & there was no facility to keep a book in my list, yet remove the bulky download. If someone is a voracious reader this is a real issue. I am someone who will sometimes re-read favourites, especially when they are part of a series or from a favourite author. The choice of fonts, font sizes, contrast, & other user tools could do with some updating. There was limited functionality as to grouping books into genres &/or author lists. It just seemed clunky & frustrating to use. I deleted it in the end, & only reinstalled it today because an ebook by a favourite author was not available in other formats. Relying on a monopoly to keep people using a sub-par app is really bad customer service, but with Amazon’s reputation I am not surprised. Will be deleting again as soon as I have read my latest ebook..Version: 6.50

It’s become a horrible data grabby thingNo way to turn of all the monitoring and infantile feedback on “reading achievements” horrible.Version: 7.0

Missing features disappointLove being able to read my kindle books on my iPad due to this app however, very disappointed that my separate wireless keyboard won’t type on here, so I have to use touch screen, which I find slower. Far more importantly however, I cannot download books unless I do so first to my kindle tablet. This is really annoying as it feels like a bit of a rip off to be expected to buy a separate device when I am willing to pay for the ebooks anyway, particularly since my (third) kindle (fire, currently) has such a poor battery life and is difficult to charge, as successive chargers bend, or fall out of the dodgy little charging portal. I have also never been able to download a book on any kindle unless I am at home, connected to the internet. If you are going to supply inferior tablets, at least allow your app to permit us to upload your products directly to a superior tablet. Thank you..Version: 6.25

Could be betterTwo issues lose two stars for this app. The app has themes, so that you can change from one set of styles to another, but this takes 4 clicks. Themes are supposed to be shortcuts, so it would make sense to have your favourite themes available on the top of the page at all times. Huge annoyance: when you click in the middle of the page, the whole page text shrinks down and menus appear. These seems wholly unnecessary, and wasn’t in the earlier version. Simply displaying the menus/buttons over the top of the existing text would be more than adequate, Apart from these two annoying and unnecessary features, the app is quite good and I use it regularly for reading my kindle books..Version: 6.66

Has issuesI’m looking at “my notebook”, tapping on something I highlighted, kindle fails to navigate to that page..Version: 6.4

Truly horribleI happily installed this in response to the announcement that the 'Classic' version was being deprecated. Big mistake.... The UI is essentially absent - impossible to navigate and do even the most basic management and settings. It's unbelievable that they not only released it like this, but that they also pushed it on unsuspecting users so enthusiastically..Version: 6.85.2

CrashingAfter latest update app won’t even load, crashes immediately.Version: 6.60

Great App but latest update breaks accessibilityI use this app everyday and it is mostly really great! Unfortunately the latest update has created a big problem for me. As a user with learning difficulties, I rely heavily on text to speech software in text based content consumption. I switched away from my actual kindle when books started coming out with the text to speech explicitly disabled.. (I can only imagine this is done to boost sales of more expensive and often abridged audible versions). I now use the kindle iPhone app and just use the built in text to speech on the phone. This has worked brilliantly up till now. With the latest update the page turning has stopped working correctly.. when it gets to the end of a page it turns to the next page but skips straight to the last paragraph on that page soon turning to the next page and then rushing through the book skipping over most of the book 😖 I really hope this gets fixed soon....Version: 6.4
