✓ Bait and SwitchBought Lumen Trails a few years ago, paid for it outright, and made moderate use of it. Now they’ve changed their business model, deprecated the original program, and want significant money on an ongoing basis to continue with something that I owned and met my needs. ✓ Don’t bother downloading $$$I first got these apps about 5 years ago. I really like the flexibility of the tool. I ended up just using one for everything because it was easier to manage. Then they released this all in one, and I was excited. So glad I kept my old apps!!! You can’t even try the new one without starting a 30 day trial that ends in a yearly charge of $40! It’s not even close to that good. Not. Even. Close. I can’t see any value in subscribing at all. I would pay $12 for each significant new release. That’s it..Version: 11.0.53
✓ They are CHEATERThey offert one month free to see the app but charge already and no month free. They cheat. I write to them but it is an automatic answer because I receive the same answer twice. Lot of app have a free trial and I was never charge. It happen to other people and they write how to cancel but you didn’t get a refund. I thought Lumen was a good compagnie. Very deceive. ✓ I paid for this app🤬Back when this app was new (2010 or earlier), I paid $9.99 for it & that was a one time payment to have full use of the app without ads. I used it for 7 or 8 months & deleted it when I when I upgraded to a new phone. I haven’t used it in years. Recently I started the keto diet & thought this app might help me keep track of my carbs. Was I ever surprised that they’ve added a mandatory subscription of $9.99 per month just to use the app. How is it possible that you purchase something outright (expensive back then for a app) & then years later be told you can’t use it unless you pay a fee every month????? ✓ TerribleI bought this app prior to the automatic introduction of a subscription model which introduced ads. Very poorly handled by the developer. You could have introduced a new subscription based app that receives updates and left the old one I bought alone (like ynab classic). It's like buying a pair of shoes, then years later being told I need to pay a monthly fee to use them. Let me wear out my old shoes first, then I'll come and rent a new pair from you when I realise you only rent shoes now, and I need a new pair. You can't change the terms after the purchase and expect people to be happy. I understand everyone wants the security of subscription pay now, but this was a terrible way to introduce it. -----previous review----- Best app I've been able to find to track my music practice data on different instruments. I use both iPad and iPhone and the data syncing between the two is awesome. I can start tracking on one device and stop on another and the data is good! ✓ Flexible, versatile, elegant, but…Until the Oct 2016 update this app had a 4.5-star average, now it has a 1-star average. Why? They've introduced ads, which can only be removed by paying subscription fees, and which are pushed even to users who have already paid for the app! Not cool, Lumen. Not cool. I'm happy to pay once for updates/upgrades to features; I will even pay (once) to remove ads. But in my book subscriptions are for continuing *services*, not the removal of unwanted ads or the thin promise of future development. ==previous review, 5 stars== This beautifully designed app can be turned to pretty much any purpose you wish. Forget the myriad of specialist tracking apps for habits, virtues, food, exercise, sleep, mood, music practice, ballet training, meditation, you name it… It can all be consolidated (and customised) in this one app. Add the notes and other supporting functions and you're set. ✓ Didn't get past the opening nonsenseStarted this app for first time and it blasted out music in my workplace with no way to stop it except jump on the volume button. Then it made me watch it write out a bunch of boring text with no way to skip that either. I already read the app description. I don't need to be forced to watch more description being slowly spelled out with no option to skip it. Ditch the opening music and allow the intro to be skipped on first starting and I'll give it another go..Version: 10.3.7

✓ Attractive but slightly confusingThis is really a suite of small apps which you can use to make notes or log your activity. It is flexible and looks good although takes a while to work out how to make it work for you; there's almost too much in it. I just wanted to log some of my daily activities to help with time management but none of the example categories fitted my requirements. ✓ Free app?I just love it when, before I even see the menu screen, the “free” app I downloaded demands $25 for access. You people shouldn’t be able to do this. If it costs, SAY IT COSTS. ✓ O.K. But confusingThis program does let me keep a nice diary of things on-line without wasting a lot of time...provided everything is set up correctly. However, if you make one error...oops... you’re suddenly tracking things on the wrong day. Or you are tracking numerous separate versions of the same day. This is confusing, and the software company is not much help in advising how to get it right. Nevertheless, I do like the one option they have where you can automatically enter the current time. ✓ Stable, flexible & support too!!I use this for everything; travel management, expense tracking, tracking medications, food diary, project management notes, shopping lists, exercise, monitoring solar panel output, sleeping patterns, stimulus like environmental variations which impact my sons autism, everything. It's stable, backs up well, exports data to other formats, syncs to other devices and support response is amazing. I've been using the app for years now and it's never missed a beat. ✓ Annual charge for Russian registered iPhonesGreat app BUT I was very disappointed to find out that for Russian registered iPhones an annual charge of 2,250 Roubles applied (£28!!!). This is absolutely unfair, that a UK registered iPhone gets it free of charge, and my mum in Russia is being charged a whopping 28 quid!.Version: 11.0.29
✓ DisappointingHaving read the reviews, I thought this app would be the ‘all in one’ solution to what I needed. Firstly, it’s not cheap... a continuing ongoing subscription. Secondly, it has no syncing with Apple’s Health App so if you use other apps for workouts of weighing in (I have digital wi-fi scales), then you have to enter everything manually again. The developers say there’s a certain level of satisfaction entering something manually. I call it lazy coding. You could turn off syncing if you wished but to not have the option to sync at all is unforgivable in my opinion. I would say avoid this app. It doesn’t see much development for the cost and like I sad, it’s so manual you may as well use Apple’s own apps and save yourself the money. It does have a free trial though if you want. I did... and promptly cancelled..Version: 11.0.44
✓ Not impressedSaw this app and had the anticipation that this would work. Selected the 7day free trial that it offered. However, the 7 day trial charges you the 59$ with taxes for an annual subscription. I cancelled with in seconds of seeing this. I have not found any contact information for a refund. ✓ Good but v expensive for what you getI'd happily pay £1.79 for this app. It's customisable features are fun and I love the graphs and averages. However, it does not offer the features or customisation I would expect at such a high price. Other apps are doing better for much less. Tapping in your entries is not easy as there is not enough room - ie it's easy to tap the notes or day arrows instead, & I'd like to tap my entry in easily without having to delete 0:00's 1st. I'd also like: average for past week, continuous graphs rather than splitting off months, more cusomisable features / calculations. However, I do use this app to track a few different things & I like the way it can help me to see my progress in key areas of my life. More updates, please!.Version: 0
✓ Wasn't very good anywayI bought this app a few years ago for £5.99. I don't use it much because it's cumbersome to setup and navigate, but every now then it's handy to get my goals back on track. I now find that the app is ad supported and I have to pay a subscription to get the ads removed. I contacted the developer and was told the change in licensing was necessary to support ongoing app development, but in the years I've had the app it hasn't changed. No new features, apart from a bit of repackaging to try and draw in more sales. I think this app is failing due to lack of development. It's cumbersome to navigate and far easier to use multiple trackers (that do a better job) and switch between them with the home button. This app wasn't worth the £5.99 I paid for it and so it certainly isn't worth a regular subscription. I hope the developer is listening? All I can say is that I'm glad I didn't buy my car from Lumen Spark, or I might wake up morning and find it looking like an F1 car covered with sponsors ads. I would then receive a letter telling me that even though I bought the car, I must now also rent it if I want the sponsors ads removed. ✓ No longer support multiple notes in daily journalIt used to have the functionality of multiple notes entry for any given day. After the most recent update, that function somehow has gone which means you can only have one single note entry for each and every day. Well, in an 'imperfect' but realistic world, I assume that I am not the only one who would have more than one thing/note for some of the days in my life?
