A Good Game, but without proper iPad Pro supportYou’d think spending extra on the iPad version would mean it’d be a proper port, however on the iPad Pro the resolution doesn’t scale up, so the whole game has a black border around it, and the resolution isn’t very good. Disappointing..Version: 2.4.1

Starts fun, loses steam quicklyThis game is visually stunning, and when I first started playing it, was incredibly fun. Unfortunately, the difficulty ramps up almost comically fast. Within the first 10 minutes of playing, I had already advanced to the point where I would typically have to restart a puzzle 10-15 times to complete it. What could've been an awesome, extremely addictive game that you could pick up for 5 minutes or an hour and enjoy equally well quickly devolves into an exercise in tedium and frustration. To make matters worse, the levels are randomly generated, meaning that you will very frequently end up with a map that is either impossible to complete, or extremely difficult. In order to get a map that is actually doable, you have to leave the game and reenter, which turns it from a puzzle game into a slot machine. If they toned down the difficulty a little bit, this game would be incredible. Unfortunately, as it is, the game gets annoying quickly..Version: 0

Total waste.I'd rather pluck my eyebrows with hot pliers than play this. I wish I could my money back. Trash..Version: 0

Very pretty, some interesting gameplay tooHas multiple levels of multiple types. Some are purely puzzle, some are skill, you will find a part of this game you'll enjoy. The orbital levels should be used to teach about orbital mechanics. I didn't like that the campaign (scripted) levels are part of the arcade (pick your game) levels. So you finish unlocking all the arcade levels and find that half of them are done. Not a pleasant surprise. Also, some of the arcade levels are made hard not by requiring more skill, but by simply giving the other entities a bigger head start. I didn't finish the final repulsor level because it was just dumb. But I do replay parts of this compulsively, even tho I've beat most of it. The levels can be randomized, which makes them a little different. I'll get bored, but it was fun while it lasted..Version: 0

OsmosMmmmmmm. I am a Jewellquest fan cos I love the strategy of the game. To start with I was not really into the continual tapping of the screen to play the game. Then after a bit I realized there was a strategy involved by bouncing the planets away from me. Very frustrating and I am still not a huge fan. I think this is a "stick with it game" and maybe I will not stick cos it is so frustrating. Not a calm game. Not sure I am recommending it..Version: 1.6.4

BugsDark screen as described by others after three finger tap. Pinching to zoom does not work. I'm using a 64 gig iPad3. All of the above problems disappear if one turns OFF the device and restarts it. Failing that RESET the device by pressing the Home button and the Sleep button simultaneously for > 15 sec. Make sure you know the pin to unlock the device, and if a Sim card is installed the unlock pin for the Sim card. This seems to fix everything..Version: 2.0.0

Nope ... Sorry ...I just don't get it. Clearly in the minority here and trust me I've tried to fall for osmos but I can't. Sure, it's pretty and kind of clever (although not completely original - I'm old enough to have been similarly nonplussed by thrust over 20 years ago) but it's ... well, boring frankly. And annoying. A bit of a triumph of style over substance to my mind and totally outclassed by more recent showcase iPad games ... World of goo step forward. I even fired it up again before reviewing and MADE myself play it for half an hour in the hope that everything would fall into place. Surely I'd missed something right? It didn't. I hadn't..Version: 1.6.4

Must have but doesn’t last longNot enough updates to the game to keep you coming back for more. But the first pass tHrough was extremely enjoyable. Must use with headphones!.Version: 2.4.3

I don’t understand.Not relaxing. Not working. Poor instructions! Ugh!.Version: 2.4.4

FrustratingDid well until I got to precision level 7 & 8 of 8. Just could not get past those two levels. Especially 8/8. I kept trying that one for days and could never figure out the right angles in order to catch the Motes. Have to give up unless there’s a clue that someone could share with me to help me understand the dynamics that I am missing. All the reviews are raving. I feel so stupid..Version: 2.4.4

DesapointingI got this game because of all the awards stuff, disappointed because although the graphics are beautiful and only if you like puzzle or tactics game then it's got that feel. BUT! Seriously some level are just ridiculously hard and incredibly unfair to you the player and i play game like this all the time and tried a lot. Other level just don't tell you what they want you to do and you just there with the other ball in a situation which will kill you first every time. Just weird just say what you want me to do at least I can create some sort of tactic. Overall nice graphics. Nice music feel. Bad level very unbalanced against the player, I didn't think it was worth £2.99 I had more fun with game which only cost £0.59 and still play with them. I'm losing interest with this one. The biggest problem IS some level are just impossibly hard and you can't progress till they done I don't think it's worth the money nice graphic only go so far. Good playability is what they should focused on more DESAPPOINTING.Version: 0

Alright but not worth the priceThe game was alright but you get tired of it pretty quick. Would recommended it if the price was lower. On a positive note, the sounds are incredible..Version: 0

Another greedy developerI was going to give you five stars but now I see you are just another greedy developer who won't do the very simple thing of making their apps universal. I'm sick of developers expecting iPad and iPhone owners to pay twice for the exact same piece of software..Version: 0

Disappeared from my purchased appsI’m more than a little disappointed that I had to repurchase this game after already paying for it once years ago. Bit dodgy if you ask me..Version: 2.4.4

Too hard. This is too hard, and a waste of money. I thought I was purchasing something like Art of Gravity. Not so..Version: 2.4.3

It's okay.I'm not really sure what the big deal is here. It's an okay game, not especially challenging, the music is undeniably well suited to the game, but can also be boring and annoying in equal measure. It may have a somewhat unique concept behind it, but at the end of the day it's just another 'quick-fix' game; if you need more than ten minutes for any particular level then you're doing something wrong. I finished the main 'story' mode in a couple of hours. Some levels are more luck than judgement - like the ones that have you battling it out whilst in an orbit. You have little idea of what's going on and until you get some winning momentum going, the outcome of death or victory is a coin toss away. Other levels are easily completed in three or four tries at most and I have no interest in replaying any of them in the various arcade modes. It's not so much that the game needs to be harder, it just needs more diversity of challenge without resorting to the mundane insanity of the orbit/attractor levels. Overall: I'm disappointed at being charged over £1.50 for this. It's good for an evening or two, but the levels aren't varied or challenging enough to keep this gamer interested..Version: 2.0.0

Fun distractionA fun, well polished game, though it can get old pretty quickly if you over play it..Version: 1.6.4

Not worth the moneyCome on, what's the hype about? This is like Dodge Dart with less game control plus so-so music. It is not addictive, just boring. Definitely not worth $5!.Version: 0

Genius. Really?Despite the dynamic environment of the game it can become boring/tedious quite quickly. Hence In contrast with other reviews I in no way see this game as a 'work of genius'. I also believe it is a pretty far stretch to say that 'this was the reason multitouch was invented' when the 'Osmos' utilization of multitouch is no different from your stock standard iPhone/iPad game. And If you are looking for a 'relaxing' iPad experience I honestly recommend you download a few high quality Hubble telescope images, play a selection of your own music in the background and enjoy for hours on end. Oh and you'll save 5.99!.Version: 0

Way over-rated.I appologize, but I think the "game of the year" thing is some kind of sick joke. Last I played this game was the day I bought it some 6 to 8 months ago, and today I deleted it. I think I cleared the first section after the tutorial inside of an hour and just, found it incredibly boring. You guys, look a little closer, it doesn't take good eyes to realize the graphics are not really that amazing at all, or that the music is just pretty repetitive ambience like millions of other games out there. And instead of a sphere, I think something with the morphing/splitting capabilities of an ameoba would make this a thousand times more interesting than, relying on the sole dynamic of size change and having the gall to call that unique gameplay. It may have potential, and a sequel may be in order, but this is not game of the year material just yet..Version: 1.6.4

Difficult even on easyThis app has received glowing reviews, for what? I don't know. It can be really difficult which kills the fun factor quick. Not worth what I forked out on it..Version: 0

So, so , so boring.Chasing orbs around a central orb. That’s it!!!.Version: 2.4.4

‘Asteroids’ for the 21st centuryThis app is a slick revamping of the ancient “asteroids” type games of older times. Same inertial burst control of random objects in a scattered field of ballistic objects - Avoid somethings, merge with others. For that it it is well done and well priced. Robust to run. I however always found these types of games annoying - you have to trade precision of motion with speed of waiting for the interaction. I found that either frustratingly lacking in control or tedious waiting for slow motion collisions! But that is up to you if you don’t care about that. I did not like the fact that strategy and skill did not come into it enough. I rated it down because I did not find it that satisfying and quite annoying plus for the poor ability to go up and down through menus and types of game. There seems to be no progressive ‘go back up’ so maybe you can pick a different Avenue/variation of the game depending upon mood. I found the only way to return to the top level was to close it down and restart - v. Poor IMO. I expected to be able to play soothing versions with less frustrations and at times the competitive choices when I wanted. Maybe thats just me... I found the ‘repeller’ games particularly annoying as you could just not touch any controls and leave it playing a ballistic game with itself with no clear route to an end. All that being said it is not over priced like so very many and you will not feel cheated that you wasted your money..Version: 2.4.4

Pixelated assetsThe game has not been updated for iPad Pro screens, a bit disappointing. Game mechanics are great..Version: 2.4.4

Imprecise controlsGreat concept and well executed graphics - but the controls are frustrating and imprecise. The three finger tap for menu conflicts with Apple's three finger accessibility controls. The four finger tap is rarely recognised - meaning you have to tap multiple times to get the menu. Swiping for speed control as often as not accelerates the mote as does pinching for zoom. The game does not calculate the position of the finger properly and will accelerate the mote at a different point from where the player tapped. I haven't tried the iPhone version - maybe it works on that medium - but the iPad version needs far more precision on the larger surface area to be truly enjoyable. Good game - could almost be great - but gave up after a while feeling disappointed. Maybe the next upgrade will be more polished with better controls - developed specifically for the iPad..Version: 0
