✓ Unique and EnjoyableExcellent graphics and game physics makes this very enjoyable. The Zen like music is good. Brings the iPad alive. Money well spent because it gave the whole family a lot of joy. There are a few critical reviews which mainly say game play is repetitive and boring ... you should understand this is an iPad game which has limitations, that is why you paid £2.99. If you want complex levels and varied gameplay etc, you should be going for a PS3 or Xbox game and pay at least 10 times more.... play that a few times and it too becomes boring! iPad/iPhone games are in a class of their own. ✓ Simply AmazingI was pretty skeptical about buying this game because there was nothing really explaining what you do in the game. I bought it anyways because of all the positive reviews. I am so glad I did! It's a pretty slow paced game of basically putting circles together to make them bigger or smaller, but it's very entrancing and makes you keep wanting to play. It's a bit of a challenge after the first few levels and some levels are almost ridiculous. The music is nice and relaxing and complements the game well. I wish there were more creative games out there. If you own an iPad you owe it to yourself to have this game. When the minimum requirements are reached to move to another level, there are generally lots more things to absorb. Outstanding graphical elements, and the physics were done well. It might have been nice to provide a means to eject a larger mass to get higher speeds from a single tap, selectable with the duration of the tap. It was interesting watching my 5 year old son try to play. He got frustrated with the controls in short order and switched to another game. If you are thinking of buying this game, please do yourself a favor and take all the raves with a big grain of salt because I feel the positive reviews are largely superficial and don't really reflect a deeper playing experience. That hasn't changed one whit, except for this delightfully ingenious "puzzle" game that pits you, "Brave little mote", against the hulking, goliaths looking to consume you. Your prey/enemies are easy to distinguish: those blue bubbles are FOOD, the Satan's-eye red ones will devour YOU. The only thing you have going for you is that you're (most probably) sentient. The most difficult levels are in the adversarial "Sentient", where a rudimentary AI tries to make you lunch, but NOT the way Mom brings you them Hot-Pockets®, when you do "real gaming". You propel your way through the levels by ejecting various amounts of your own body by tapping the opposite direction you wish to proceed; the Newtonian physics mainly hold, though they've tweaked the inverse-square-law a bit in the "Epicycles" levels, and (or course), nothing is "to scale". But for a fun Zen-game, look no further. Oh, you can slow time to a crawl (handy on the Nematode levels) or flick the slider to make the game-years fly! NERD ALERT: This would be a good "learner game" for grandad when yinz give him an iPad for Xmas. And SELL him the game as a game NOT as a way to get him from calling you for a ride to go to the mall, because since grandma died, all he really has are the three other guys he hangs out with. Chester seems okay, but Emmet is a disaster what with him smoking roll-your-owns while juggling that damned LiQO2 tank. There aren't really enough levels at the moment, I finished them all in an hour or so. It looks like there are more in there but currently unavailable, so hopefully they'll come out as free upgrades... But the authors will have to dig deep into their creativity to make each set of levels sufficiently different from the previous ones, otherwise the gameplay risks becoming tedious. Animation is very fluid, I haven't noticed any slowdown in any modes. It does have a couple of very small bugs but they do not affect the game play (just don't press the trophy icon!). It is much more immersive on the iPad than the PC. I love the Impasse mode as it requires the most strategy (that I have so far discovered). I am also very happy with the price, great quality game to relax with and a great price - what more can you ask for? ✓ How the iPad was meant to be gamed.I loved the original PC version of Osmos, and so during the May discount I decided I'd like to replay it on iPad. What I didn't expect was for the gameplay to be improved so drastically due to the controls. THIS is how touchscreen controls should be done. For example, most games would have a pause button, button for actions (slow/speed time), a restart button. Osmos takes all of these actions and takes them off the screen and into the realm of gestures, leaving the screen completely without HUD, adding to the ambience. It's the first game I've come across that has actually innovated with touchscreen controls rather than just mimic what Apple have already done in their apps, and I can't help but feel now that games I previously loved, like Eufloria, would have majorly benefitted from taking note of Osmos..Version: 1.6.4
