AmpKit+ guitar amps & pedals for Positive User Reviews

Fantastic (and cheaper) alternative to buying a practice amp! This has amazing sounds from it. For $20 you get many amp, cab, pedal and mic models to create sounds from pristine cleans to raw fuzz! Love the addition of backing tracks and ability to import and export tracks in this manner… My ONE big request! Please link up the app to file sharing in iTunes…. I would love to be able to move backing tracks to and from the device using iTunes instead of having to import them into my iTunes library and then use the app to import them into the backing tracks library. Thanks for this app and keep it up!.Version: 1.2

Incredible appThe models can sound very similar but other than that, this app is quite nice. Flexible routing options let you place pedals before or after the amp. Getting to choose your head, cab, mic, mic axis and pedals...all on your phone really makes the price worthwhile..Version: 1.1

Great butI have had hours of fun playing with this app making some great tones but I think they should make a custom drum beat maker, a studio so you can add things like bass, vocals, drums etc and a tuner and they should make it all an reasonable price because amplitudes prices are unbelievable.Version: 1.8

Would have had stars if it wasn't for the price.Good. A bit pricey, but I can play along to all my tracks on the iPod with a big choice of 'pedals'. Great for on the move or when I don't want to upset the neighbours. I now use it frequently to practice. Still, would have liked to have all the bits for £12 instead of having to pay extra for each one..Version: 1.1

Best guitar appMy last review didnt post so lets try again. If you play clean, ie proper guitar, then this is really the only app that sounds vaguely like an actual guitar. The others all sound like someone playing through a tin can at the bottom of a lift shaft. Seriously i have most of the decent apps and this one is the best. It lacks all the fancy features but who cares, it sounds right and thats all that matters..Version: 1.7.1

Best there is.I have had the AmpKit+ app and AmpKit Link since Christmas and it's been great! I've only found one bug and contrary to the other reviews latency isn't it. The bug I found has to do with music playback problems and I am an odd case as I have very large files that may not be compatible just yet. I have contacted the AmpKit support and they are on top of the problem and will have it resolved (Lord willing) in the next update. AmpKit has been great, the sound is great, the support is great. I used to play in a couple touring bands and this really makes an excellent practice tool as well as allowing you to record if you need..Version: 1.1

Awesome appPlease add audiobus support!!! I love the tones in this app and have bought all gear. Now to just route it to the multitrack recorder.Version: 1.5

Best Simulator!!This is the BEST so leave the rest. Great support too by professional guitarists who know their business. Checkout Guitar Toolkit and Tabs by the same developers and you won't need to buy any other guitar or music apps. Works perfectly with Apogee Jam..Version: 1.2

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME !!!!!!I've tried all the other software emulators and none come close to this! I've tried Amplitube with the iRig and after playing with it for an hour I soon got bored and got really tired of the UI. The sound was quite harsh too with the tones really flat and not to my liking at all. I then invested in the Apogee Jam and got Ampkit - OMG!!! It sounds superb and it really is crystal clear studio quality sound. The tones you get are nothing short of amazing! The UI is great and the presets work really well and are fully customisable. Best App I Ever Bought!! Worth Every Penny!!.Version: 1.2

Great Clean Amp SoundToo many virtual amps sell themselves on their overdriven and distorted tones, but are let down by weak and raspy clean tones. However, this baby really delivers some beautiful, full-bodied clean amp tones as well as the other overdriven stuff. In particular, I could play my Gibson through the emulation of the Peavey Valve King on its clean setting all day. It is the next best thing to plugging it into a nice clean real Fender valve amp. There are some other interesting items, like the Fender Acoustasonic. It would be nice if there were more reverb and tape echo emulations (Roland Space Echo) with more controls on them. Perhaps an emulation of an Orange and Ampeg guitar amp would be nice..Version: 2.3

Simplicity and cost efficiencyI rarely write reviews for products i purchase, however this application is worthy of some praise!!!!! Firstly I like the interface, the simple way i can choose and view the various effects etc, the sound is good, i am not a veteran guitarist so my review may be more suited to a novice like myself. If you are seeking something which is cost effective and yet allows you to grow your guitar knowledge and provide new sounds and develop your skill i can highly recommend this. As for the cost, i feel the cost is a fraction the effects would cost me and i can purchase more in the future, so i have an effects platform i can use now and develop as my skill increases..Version: 0

Best ever App (for a guitarist at least)Well, I have both the Irig/amplitube and the ampkit/Link and here is my view. This is by far the better of the two. The tones and available gear are better. You can create far more different and versatile tones. It will be expensive to buy all the add-ons, but I feel they are worth it. Coupled with the Link, which is also better than the Irig, I give it 10 out of 10. I have already purchased a few additional amps and pedals / mics and the difference in tones you can create is brilliant. In particular, the clean sound that the Fender Twin model produces is excellent even through my cheap headphones. It really seems to capture that glassy sparkle that is so clean and cutting without sounding cheap and tinny. But, where the ampkit excels, is in the distortions and high gain sounds. Amplitube doesn't even come close. Be warned though, that for each tone setting, you can adjust the input and output to suit each tone setting individually. Make sure you do this so the tone doesn't distort too much to an unrecognisable sound. The FX are all pretty great as well. I haven't played around with all the functions yet, as there are many, but the record / re-amping, tuner and backing track uploading are all there. Amplitube is not that bad, this is just that much better with more and better features. I believe Peavey have said they will consider adding more amps/fx in the future should there be sufficient demand and have asked for requests to be submitted to them for consideration. This is great news and makes the possibilities endless. I'd like to see some additional Marshalls, a Soldano and Hughes & Kettner amp models as well as some additional Fx models. Line 6 must be gutted as Peavey/Agile have well and truly stolen their thunder and pee'd all over their bonfire. As this app shows what the IOS is capable of, I wonder whether we might see Line 6 develop something similar to compete in the IOS / mobile market as they are missing out on a huge potential for income. Would be interesting to know if anyone gigs with this!? Perhaps a Bluetooth foot pedal to change sounds in the future!? ;-) P.S. Does anybody want to buy an Irig adapter ;-) ????.Version: 0

Outstanding! This app is GREAT! It works perfectly. I use it with Apogee's jam and output with a 1/8" cable with a 1/4" adapter plugged into a travel amp with the overdrive and effects shut off and everything sounds amazing. You can play and tweak your settings for hours searching for that perfect sound then save it and move on to the next one and have them all sitting on your shelf just a finger tap away. Also sounds great going direct into my PA and headphones to of course. If you play guitar and have a iPad this app should be on it. Thanks for a great app!.Version: 1.2

Needs midi foot controlFantastic sounding with Peavey Amplink hardware. Best sounding amp sim I have used by far but desperately needs some way to change channels on amp and engage foot pedals with foot! (useless for live use without this). Midi control support please!.Version: 1.2

AmazingI never thought I'd say this about a virtual amp/effector sim but this is just amazing! I was a bit dissatisfied with the hardware so switched to apogee jam(90 bucks) and it just sounds beautiful. The tone possibilities are endless with various amps, cabinet, effector, and even mics! Sounds are crisp and clear with apogee Jam. It was a very worthwhile payment considering the fun me and this app is going to have!! Keep the ideas coming agile partners. We love em. One suggestion is to adapt amplitube's song section looping feature, which would just make this app perfect..Version: 1.1

The best iOS Amp Simulator. PERIOD!If you are looking for something portable for guitar practice, need Hi-Gain Guitar tones and you have an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch, your search is over! AmpKit is the best solution. You'll find very good simulations of famous HI-Gain amps like Marshall® JCM900, Peavey 6505+ and Mesa/Boogie® Dual Rectifier, plus their respective cabs and a good selection of Mics. Also, you'll find an extensive repertoire of famous pedal models and you can eve set them in front of the amp, after the amp (Send/Return FX Bus) of even after the Cab! Also, I would recommend to get AmpKit Link because it has lower feedback crosstalk and it's cheaper unless you have a Guitar Plug that goes directly to the Dock Connector, which would be the best option to avoid feedback crosstalk. Furthermore, You'll have a metronome, a tuner, can jam with the music you have in your device, you can record, re-amp your previous recording and even send the recording (either dry or wet) by email, to another iOS app that supports Audio Copy/Paste or even to SoundCloud! You don't loose anything. Try the Free version and hear it yourself!.Version: 1.2

Great App- Wish there was more bundles or an all in one kitWhat a great little app. What used to take bringing my Pod XT Live to the pc and hooking everything up to practice quietly to backing tracks or music can now be done with my ipad/Ipod and the ampkit link and a cable and headphones. The quality of the sound and ease of use of the GUI is great. I tried the Amplitube app and the sound quality can't touch this app. My only small beef is the number of amp/effect kits available for purchase. There are so many. I picked up the Summer Special kit for $9.99 and a delay pedal for $5 but I wish there was an option just to buy the whole package as a bundle. Nothing like seeing a cool preset and then finding you need a $5 amp or pedal to use it..Version: 1.2

Great but greedy! So after spending $23.99 on this app I was extremly upset. I was under the asumption that you get all the Amps & FX. Not the case.. you don't get any of the classic amps or even the delay pedal!!!. How about some clear infomation on what you get for your money. I have wasted that money because the things I wanted arn't even there!! So now I have to keep spending??? Ripped off!!! GREAT BUT GREEDY!!.Version: 1.0

Great appI've got both Ampkit and AmpliTube and my conclusion is; Ampkit wins on sound and build, AmpliTube wins on accessories. If Ampkit had had better jam/backingtrack player, something more similar to AmpliTube, Ampkit would have been the winner, hands down. As this is v.1.0 I think we will see great improvements ahead. Customer support is fantastic. Got immediate response when contacting them..Version: 0

Awesome+++Rich warm tones+++ worth every pennyGold Medal Awards to all involved on this amazing app.. Ampkit+ is seriously well built, has a usefull well laid out interface, good graphics and stunning rich sounds to match. The tones from this baby are outstanding. much better sounds than my sterile boss multifx or other apps of its kind. i prefer the noise gate pedal off for real sustain. turn on the juicer to add infinite sustain. The amp modeling is spot on, the fx are realistic and behave very well.. fx upgrades are good esp..Mountain blue which adds some lovely smooth valve overdrive. The audacious haze pedal is a total joy to play with its soft warm fuzziness and heady distortion. I have loaded this app up with different drum loops to jam over.. this app is easier to use, more versatile, more fun than some characterless matrix screen multifx...Rare for digital amp and fx emulation but this actually has some soul +++ Love it +++ seriously amazing.. if you play guitar dont hesitate as this is by far the best app of its kind.. oh my pods charged...off to jam....Version: 0

Awesome!!! SeriouslyI have purchased to my knowledge, most of or all the amplifier apps, amplitube, GarageBand (both I still use), and one or two others I don't remember since I deleted them a while back. This is by far the best, the price is right and if you have an adapter already a good investment, definitely worth a buy before a try. I play a mix of 70's rock lead, old metal, thrash, speed, and anything challenging, this not only handles it, but the sound you can achieve is way above the quality of any other apps. There's tons of effects that come with it, and the extra in app purchases are inexpensive, I really wish I had looked at this before wasting money on amplitube, GarageBand still stands close to me because of my iPad, but this takes the cake..Version: 1.5

Its a good appThe only prolem i have is it says parental controls are on but i turned them off and i cant buy any amps..Version: 1.1

Good appThis is an awesome app but it would not let you play music from your iPod I hope the next update will allow music from your iPod be playing while using this app.Version: 1.1

More distortion pedals pleaseThis app is amazing! Excellent for recording in a variety of styles and the tones are authentic and awesome. Pedal modelled on the extremely rare boss FZ2 Hyper fuzz would be awesome as these go for silly money now. But thank you so much for this! You have made my iPad an excellent recording tool as supposed to just a fun gadget and my recording out put is now sounding better than ever! Buy this app! You won't regret it!.Version: 1.5

Awesome app! This app is amazing! I have had it for about two years and it keeps getting better with frequent updates. The sounds are awesome and extremely realistic. VoiceOver support, while quite good is now fantastic after the recent upgrade. Keep up the great work and I do recommend this app to all my friends..Version: 1.6.1

Great app, needs Bluetooth outLove this app It's fun and sounds awesome, and is a great value. I've tricked it out with the three biggest combo packs, and it's fun just noodling on different presets; it gives me musical ideas, like calling up patches on a synth. I do with they'd add support for Bluetooth out, though. I'd love to use it with wireless headphones, or my JamBox. I can handle the latency, dealing with it is just part of "playing the effects". Anyone else want this? :) Anyway, great product, and they don't nail you twice. Works GREAT on iPad too with a wonderful layout that puts all that screen space to good use, and all the stuff you buy works on all your iDevices. Well done..Version: 1.2

Cvm1983Pretty dope. Authentic guitar modulation. As far as people complaining about the feedback. Hello the setup is supposed to represent real high wattage heads meaning two things. You can either turn down the volume on your phone or apply the built in noise gate pedal. The technology behind this app is astounding and I can't wait for more updates. Update: Careful about buying the full expansion. Not that there's anything wrong with it. It's awesome. However I just switched phones and it did not save the purchases in my iTunes which means I'd have buy them all again. I think that's pretty whack and that they resolve this issue..Version: 2.2.3

I PLAY IT LIVE!!!Ampkit+ is the best iPhone Amp hands down. I made a strap holder for my phone & run straight to the PA, amps, even my stereo at home, killer sound wether it be my Martin OM or my custom Strat. First buy some of the FX Packs (Gear) you get a whole lot more to work with, then take the time to write you're FX. Between all the amps, stomp's & mic's it's endless. *IMPORTANT* don't pug in the iPhone power cord this creates noise, doesn't matter if it's Ampkit+ or Aplitube this creates noise! If you don't like the Ampkit plug try the iRig plug they all work the same way. I've played for 26yrs, a GIT grad, lots of amps in my time & it's it's lighter than my Peavey Vypyr 120 by about 6000lbs. Just turn everything off on your iPhone but the Amp & read the instructions!!! Then f___Ing rock or whatever you do!!! And apple can we get some mini tubes in these things maybe the iPhone 5? WHAT THEY DON'T TELL BASS PLAYER'S SORRY IT SOUNDS LIKE AMPLITUDE!!!!.Version: 1.3

Best guitar app ever!!!My guitar amp broke so I was thinking of buying another one but I saw this app decided to try the free version and loved it so I bought the full and now it is WAY better than my old amp its got many different settings and great for recording and when I connect it to my speakers its awesome I was not expecting this to be so great and I play guitar and bass for a hobby so this suits me well. But imagine playing on stage with your guitar connected to your iPod instead of an amp haha..Version: 1.2

Awesome program, huge update! The reason I was using Amplitube was that Agile Partners seemed to have halted development on AmpKit+ due to the lack of updates since the end of last year. When I found out a new version had been released I quickly went through the list of what was new and decided to buy it. They did manage to pack quite a lot of new features during the long wait to version 1.2 (they were definitely not idle since 1.1). I have now used it for a few days with my Apogee JAM interface and just sold my old iRig and got rid of Amplitube (which by the way does not support the JAM and forces you to buy all add-ins TWICE: once for the iPad version and a second time for the iPhone version - definitely not a consumer oriented business practice). Not only are the models, features and interface great, but the attention to detail really sets this one apart from the competition. I bought all the bundles and the Peavey 6505+ amp which was left behind after buying all of them. I am really happy I bought it and highly recommend it. Also do yourself a favor and give the Apogee JAM a try. The AmpKit+ with JAM combo is a winner!.Version: 1.2

1.2 update is sick!!New update 1.2 wow improvements on an already excellent app. Ignore all the low star rating given to this app they used either crappy irig or crappy ampkit. Use this app with apogee jam or alesis io dock to see what i mean. Hands down best guitar modeller on ios. Looking forward to some footswitch implementation on io dock for live use...yes its that good i use it live. Keep em coming :).Version: 1.2

Worth every penny.I have Fenders, I have Peaveys, I have Marshalls, I store-bought and custom-made pedals and on and on. What I didn't have before this app was a way to take them with me. The Ampkit Link is better than the iRig for ease of use and sound quality and the app itself is better written than all of the other ones currently available. It works flawlessly and predictably. I have already tried the new Trace Elliot amp with my Mike Lull P4 (Death Cab For Cutie hand-me-down) tonight and it impresses me more than any of the amazing guitar amps I've been using since the app launched. I've actually played it live from an iPad thru FOH in a pinch one night when asked to get up and do something for a "guest spot" in a cover band. Good on Hartley Peavey for partnering with these guys. AWESOME engineering and manufacturing quality..Version: 1.3

Multitasking Rules!I love this app. Other than its amp modelling and recording abilities, the feature that sells this app for me is its ability to multitask. That is, once you have set up your rig, Ampkit allows you to run another app while it plays in the background, i.e. you can still monitor your guitar while watching a video lesson, following a tab app (Sonsterr+), or slow a song down to learn it (Anytune). The addition of the Multitasking tool took this app from just being on my iPad to being used hard every day. It might seem a little pricey, but it is worth every penny for such a workhorse app..Version: 1.2

Excellent. The app is excellent. I use it for bass guitar and it suits me just fine, going straight into a guitar amp. One small addition would be to have the app work over iCloud so the presets on one device are instantly on the other, and they would be downloadable again if a device has to be restored. Apart from that, it's brilliant..Version: 1.5

Great app but iPhone X not showing restore purchase or my purchases option in store???Great app but iPhone X not showing restore purchase or my purchases option in store??? You still get five stars but that little gray line at the bottom to restore purchases.....really? Slick Willy.Version: 2.3

MelloI've had this app for a few years now after trying several others first and I just LOVE IT! I have tried a few of the new apps to see if something better's this but nothing comes close, it's sounds are fantastic and the graphics and layout make it very easy to use, to find your way around and mix and play around with all the sounds. My opinion is that this is the best App in it's class. Rock on \---/ A+.Version: 2.2.3

First class app!!!The last time I was able to play with so many amps, cabinets, effects... was in a music store. As soon as I heard the sound quality and authenticity, I bought all possible bundles and I'm glad I did. One thing I hope they include in the next update is a preset sharing database between users where we can upload and download among each other, that would the best thing ever. First class app!.Version: 1.2

AmpkitSuperb app linked it up to a mixer and with a bit of tweaking sounds great the extra add on well worth buying the range of sounds are endless.iv owned loads of multiple fx units over the years but this app with the phone is up there with the best..Version: 0

No Restore PurchaseHave iPhone XS. No option to restore purchases. Had everything unlocked and now only bare essentials available. Needs a quick fix please. Update: seems the fix is on the bottom of the gear page as you slide it all the way up, you have to tap at the bottom of the screen in a very thinly sliver of grey. Purchases are now restored. Review back up to 4 Stars. This app is still great. I’d like to see an update sometime soon though..Version: 2.3

WowBest dam amp app going👿.Version: 1.3

Nice appLots of options and sounds good A little noisy with my 'unofficial' interface but still is accaptable for jamming or late night sessions on headphones. Lots of extras and well worth the money..Version: 0

Absolutely brilliant! The amplitube app is pretty cool and I say get that too, but these guys have aced this! Guitar heaven! Have no objections with spending all my money (eventually) on all the extra gear. I'm a valve amp owner... In fact I own a few, but this is super cool cutting edge. Love it. Thanks guys!.Version: 1.2

It just got better...Some nice additional features in the latest update. With such a huge preset selection that actually sounds great without feeling the need to tweak it any further I have found AmpKit+ very easy to use if you want to just quickly plug in and play. If you wish to tweak it further you of course can. Great quality sounds with stereo effects..Version: 2.2.1

180 Top DartsIf you want a way above average way of practicing and keeping track/recording the new riffs you come up with don't overlook this. Heaps of cool stuff and even with the free version you ready to go. So far I've only bought the upgrade and one delay pedal and am happy as. Good stuff....... YIPPA.Version: 1.2

BrilliantExcellent app. Sounds great. Ideal for practicing, jamming and song writing. It's so convenient having everything right there in the phone!!!.Version: 0

IPad edition? This is a good app and works well with no latency and very little noise. but it would be more effective to have the + edition that optimises it for the iPad..Version: 0

Absolutely AMAZING! Seriously!!!I actually gave a rather unfavorable review on version 1, when I was using the iRig, as well as trying out the AmpKit Link (a little better). I just bought the Apogee Jam last week, and it really brought this app to life!!! Now that I can delete the noise filters, the amps and effects really open up and sing. If you would have told me five years ago that I would be plugging my guitar into my phone, much less having it sound this good, I would have thought you were nuts! Well the combination of this app, and the apogee jam, you could probably get by gigging with this plugged straight into a p.a. I'm using an old Altec 2.1 speaker set I bought at Target 5 years ago for $50 (they don't make that model anymore), and the sound is monstrous, clear, and devastating. My new practice tool, I LOVE IT!! If they ever add a multitrack recorder to this, I could get rid of a bunch of apps. Also, to the developers, can't wait to see more sims (Orange? Ampeg? GK? Trace?) THIS APP ROCKS! Get it! By the way, this app is so good, I'm thinking about selling my current practice rig, a VOX VT20+ :).Version: 1.2

Very nice!Just purchased Ampkit+ and the link. Very happy with it. I think the sounds are much better than Amplitube. It also seems to be more stable. I only have 2 minor issues: 1) the noise gate has an unnatural quality about it when it cuts out that seems odd. 2) I wish you could record multiple tracks. The new version of Amplitube does this and it's the only feature I strongly desire. Very strongly desire! even if I have to pay for it. Agile are you listening? All in all though...fantastic app!.Version: 0

Electric violinists can get in on the actionI am not a guitarist at all, but I do have a violin with a Realist pickup. I was looking for a quick and cheap way to add effects to my sound. I downloaded the + version of the app, added the effect bundle, and bought the ampkit link. Bearing in mind that I know next to nothing about effects and amp settings, this app is very easy to use. Plugging in is incredibly easy. It works great with headphones or connected to an amp through the auxiliary input. Some of the effects sound awesome! Distortion, fuzz, and delay seem to work the best with the violin sound. Unfortunately some of them don't work for me at all or are very difficult to hear even after spending some time fiddling (no pun intended) with the settings. There is also a significant amount of signal loss with the ampkit link since it connects through the headphones. I noticed that my pickup puts out relatively little signal compared to my friend's guitar though, so guitarists may not experience these issues. Considering that this app was intended for use with a guitar I'm very pleased that I was able to use this with my violin..Version: 1.2

Good app but pricyAll in all fun app for guitarist but really no big difference between free and paid app. Should just make flat amount for all equipment within app. Otherwise pretty cool app.Version: 1.2

Great. But GreedyAlthough excellent and far better than my opinion Amplitube, I have to agree with a previous comment about the pricing of your addons. I thought I'd check out the price of the delay unit, but at £3.49 you can simply keep it. Amplitube's pricing is fairer in this context and I'm sure they'll be fighting back for the top spot. At half the price or even under the £2.00 mark I'm sure they'll come off the shelf..Version: 0

This App totally ROCKS!I spent the better part of 5 hours comparing "Guitar Apps" the other day and "AmpKit" totally Rocks! 5 Stars ***** It's by far the BEST sounding of all guitar Apps to date, designed to be very portable, the interface is very intuitive/easy to use and the guitar amps modeled are based on 'real life' classic guitar amplifiers. Imagine playing a Fender Twin Deluxe and in a matter of seconds changing to a Messa Boogie....Groovy!! Combine Amps with a veritable cornucopia of Effect Pedals and/or swap Amp Cabinets too for a virtually limitless soundscape extravaganza ranging from super clean tones to modern day shredding..... The limit is your imagination. My gear at home includes my iPad, the AmpKit+ (application bundle wickedly priced including all you need and more to get you Rocking fast), AmpKit LINK (I got mine at a local guitar shop in town for $32 bucks & PEAVY even includes the 2 AAA batteries required..Wicked), a Line 6 Spider III amplifier (You can run the App through headphones too), a shielded electric guitar cable and a Fender Standard Stratocaster plus an extra 1/8" double male cable to run from the LINK into my Amp instead of using headphones. The Application is literally "plug and play" simply download the App, install the AAA batteries, hook up the AmpKit LINK to your IPod Touch or IPad, plug in your electric guitar, plug in your headphones or amp and start Rocking Out!! Their online support team is really there for you too. I simply sent an email congratulating them on creating such a fantastically fun Application for electric guitar & iPad plus made a small suggestion. My small suggestion was to increase the "low end Bass frequency response" to compliment the treble in the High Gain Amplifier models in future updates. They got back to me the very next day saying their Techs are aware of the "Bass issue" and are working on the situation....now that's what I call "online support"!!...Nice. On a side note: The PEAVY "AmpKit LINK" dongle seems to work fine on all other guitar amplifier emulated Apps too......incase you feel the need to use more than one application..Version: 1.1

Huge updateTruly awesome update. Models are seriously improved and far better sounding then anything else right now in the app store for amp simulation. The new amps sound great , too. The star of the new update is multitasking, though. Finally able to jam with other apps! Have not tested whether it will record with audio from other apps. If they would just allow you to slow down recordings so you can phrase train, it would be a perfect five. However, I have other apps now to do that and can play along with them! You guys are awesome thank you!.Version: 1.2

My favorite amp appFirst of all a word about gear: if you expect sound from the 1/8 headphone jack adapter to be as good as one going through the 30 pin digital, you are setting yourself up for disappointment and frustration. Trust me, you can hear and feel the price difference. I’m a bass player and have an iRig and an iRiffport. Actually, no, I just gave away my irig to a friend. Among Amplitube, Pocket GK, Mobile POD, Ampkit is my favorite. You get tons of tones, useful tools like a tuner and metronome, a simple recording interface, and my favorite: background audio/ ios multitasking. This basically enables you to dial in your tone, hit the home button and run a sheet music app like forScore or iRealb while still hearing yourself. Amplitube as a better 16 track recording interface but only works with the irig. And yes, Ampkit works with the iRiffport. The Trace Elliot sounds really good, but my big fingers have a hard time using the tiny 12 band EQ buttons!.Version: 1.3

More amp heads please. Can I request more feature updates to include Randall based amps, Blackstar, Hughes and Kettner, Orange and Laney, etc..Version: 1.3

Great tonesRunning iOS 4.1 on an iPhone 4 with the Link... Sounds great and looks great! Now while it may be true that the base app and add-ons might seem a bit pricey at first... If you compare those prices to what you would have to spend to buy a multi-effects processor or plugin for your pc/Mac...let alone buy the real equipment... The price is not bad at all. I have had great customer support so far from the vendor. Could use some vocal specific setups and copy/paste, but other than that is a great way to have a versatile rig in the palm if you hand. Also, the Peavey Link does a great job of eliminating feedback and interference as advertised... So break down and buy them both! You will be happy you did..Version: 0

Best yetI have every guitar and amp app and hardware to go with them. I have to say I like this the best but I have found that they all are really impressive considering a couple of years ago I would have thought it to be a dream to be practicing at this quality through my headphones. So thanks to everyone who worked they're tails off cause I really appreciate it even if I think the in-app purchasing is a bit much after the 20 dollar entry fee but I still love ya.Version: 0

WowTone monster!!! Very impressed. Would like to see more recording functions like: multitrack recorder Keep the good work up!!.Version: 1.3

FantabulousWhen I plug in my SDG 5 string Bass in I get lost....Great Ap. Thanks Guys!.Version: 1.6.2

Best Sounding App by FarThis is the best sounding guitar app by far for me—it has a huge sound to it. The Peavey Valve King amp sounds spectacular, even the clean channel. I play mainly blues but was previously into hard rock/metal and the Valve King is bringing that back into my playing. The Colonel amp which models a Marshall is great too. The other features are great and the effects are nice too. Although I wish it would have come with a delay pedal—it's an in-app purchase, along with many other effects and amps. The recording feature is awesome, but I wish you could adjust the beginning and ending loop points. Get this app (or at least try the free version), you'll have a blast. I haven't stopped using it!.Version: 1.2

Amazing! The effects and amps all sound amazing. Using the ampkit link there is very little feedback and the noise gate works really well..Version: 1.5

Rockin' and Rollin'Sound is great. Out of the box presets shine, especially heavy distortion ones. Find other apps require more external EQ/filtering before they give you the sound you want, but Ampkit sounds polished as a stand alone app. For me, only 2 things I'd like to see added to the effect options: 1- option for wider stereo sound (I think it would be some type of optional headphone mode, because when linked direct to an amp you don't necessarily want this) 2- a positive octave pitch shifter (app has a lower octaves effect, but no upper octave pitch shift.). Come on, I want 12-string effect! (but with flexibility to harmonize at different pitches also).Version: 1.4

Amazing app!!!I've bought this app maybe a year ago and I was very very disappointed too, but the reason was unsuitable audio interface. To be honest I haven't tried recomended stuff. I was just using the iRig which works well with Amplitube app but it's useless with the Ampkit especially for the distorted presets ... horrible! Then I bought the Jam audio interface (Apogee) which enables me to use it with my mac version of Amplitube, Garage Band, Logic and all the iOS devices too. Believe me or not the result was tremendous ... Ampkit app works GREAT! Although I am a big fan of IK's products but to be fair I have to admit that for me Ampkit is much better for the distorted sounds then the iOS version of Amplitube. It would be great if they both could work with the Garage Band app. I miss few things in Ampkit like better reverb, recorder and ability to easily edit my own presets, but as regards the sound I think this app deserves five stars. P.S. As far as I know the Apogee's Jam works fine with Ampkit on iPad 1st and 4th generation but doesn't work on my old iPhone 3GS..Version: 1.4

FantasticThis is simply the best amp sim available on the iPhone right now. The amp models and effects are great, there is no latency, and recording is quick and easy. The dry signal is recorded as well as the processed signal, and it lets you reamp and change the effects after the fact. This is a huge advantage over its competition. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because it lacks support for any kind of audio copy and paste. I'm told this feature is in the works; that'll make this app nearly perfect..Version: 0

Like it a lotI picked up an iRig HD and bought the Fender package from amplitube and it worked pretty well but the interface is kind of fiddly on the iPhone. Tiny knobs and hard to hit buttons. Ampkit works great with the iRig HD interface and the app itself is easier to use and the sound is much better than amplitube. I am able to get some very good clean tones, which I could never really manage to get with amplitube. (I tried the free version of the app as well as the Fender version that I paid $15 for.) It's easier to adjust settings for all the amps and pedals because ampkit has nice big sliders rather than the "actual" knobs on the amplitube amps and pedals. There is also a very good system for storing and recalling presets that is clearer and easier to manage. Overall I like ampkit much more than amplitube..Version: 2.2.1

Future amps and fx?Great app. Just wondering about the new bundles offers. Are we going to see lots of new amps and effects soon? I already have every iap so I'm not sure how it's going to benefit me without you guys making some announcements of whats up and coming re amps and effects. Please announce something so we know what's going on, thanks..Version: 2.2

Best thing that will ever happen to your ipodI just got the app and I can't put it down!! It's amazing!. This is a great app for ANY guitar player. I brought the ampkit home thinking it was going to be "okay" but No its awesome. Its still not as good as playing through a real amp but it's pretty close. the ONLY bad thing I can say about this app is that it's not that cheap but if you love playing guitar get the peavey ampkit you will love it.Version: 1.2

My secret weaponFirst of all, to anyone complaining about the in app purchases - you do realize how expensive these pedals are in real life, right? I'd say spending a few bucks for an echo effect that would otherwise run around $170 isa pretty good deal, especially when they sound pretty darned good. I kinda like the idea of only having to spend around $50 for a full suite of effects, amps, and presets that I can then run not only my guitar through, but anything that can be run through an Audio interface -- vocals, piano, even other apps and synthesizers thanks to Audiobus integration -- and record either inside of Ampkit or with a professional grade DAW like Cubase. All for less than the cost of a practice amp. And by the way, when I cranked this up on my ipad speakers, my wife thought I was blasting my 65 watt amp. Finally, for my favorite use -- in conjunction with the TabToolkit by the same company. I love muting the guitar out of the tabs and playing in top of the drum, bass, and keys through Ampkit. I even did exactly this when I played for a funeral (long story, but it worked really well). Right now I'm working on my first full length album, and I plan on producing the entire thing with my ipad. So again, for anyone complaining about spending $3 on a pedal or an amp, please remember: this is not a toy, or a gimmick. This is the real deal. And like a real guitar, it will reward you in equal measure to what you put into it..Version: 1.6.1

Awesome!!!!!I had been using the Jamup app , but I didn't like having to make my own chains and I wanted one with more presets, so I reluctantly purchased this app and OMG was i impressed, it was like night and day!!! The signal is clean with almost no background noise ( I couldn't get rid of the feedback/hum on the Jamup app no matter what I did) and the presets are absolutely amazing!!! I would recommend this to any iOS user who plays guitar. I can't believe I almost passed on this app, that would have been a huge mistake. I no longer have any use for the Jamup app, kind of a waste of money but what are you gonna do, right? Wish I had seen this one first...,,,.Version: 2.2.3

All I can say is wow!!!!!!This is a amazing app used with the ampkit interface!!!! Peavey really has done great with hooking up with agile for this app!! This blows amplitude out the water in every way and will be great from beginner level to pro playing Don't even think about it just buy as you won't be disappointed I'm sure :-).Version: 0

Very simple, very user friendly, very effective. It says it all in my title..Version: 2.2.7

This is AWESOMEI bought the Amp Kit Peavey adapter and then the full version of Amp Kit for my IPAD - I was very impressed with the sound and response and the ability to change things easily and develop sounds. I will admit I went and bought other amps and cabinets and 1 effect pedal - I was disappointed that those do not transfer to your Itunes and allow you to load them to say another device - "my Ipod Touch" sorry I just had to see... But overall I am very impressed and I think soon with more tweaking this could be used for live pieces - now guys you need to make some kind of a foot pedal to change to your different presets. I loved the backing tracks and the expanse on that would be a good idea too - maybe get some professional artists to allow backing tracks to be installed?? And let us not forget recording - got an idea -you can capture it. Next text - run this into my Pro Tools rig and cut a guitars track or 2 - I think it will ROCK..Version: 1.1

Awesome guitar app! This app is really something. It works well in every area. And you can record which is cool! Only thing I am not pleased about is that for $23 you get somethings but not enough to justify the purchase. If I had known that I would have to pay extra for over priced amps, cabs and pedals that should have been inclusive for the price paid. I would have reconsidered. Don't get me wrong great app, just be aware that you don't get everything. As you do with amplitube..Version: 0

Love itI think this app is amazing, i love the sounds I get, so much nicer to use than a multi fx pedal and sounds as good if not better. The only problem I have is if you play via AirPlay you get a big delay (sort it out Apple!!) Also I think the extra gear is a bit pricey but I shan't complain too much!.Version: 1.3

Fixed! ... was: Broken: in-app purchases...Help!Update: With the latest update, when you click Restore Purchases, it works. Several days after contacting the developer, a new version was released and it's fixed. ... ... Old comments, that can be ignored: I "unlocked everything" with an in-app purchase on my iPad. *My account was charged the amount stated in the offer.* I deleted the app, the re-loaded. When I click "Restore Purchases" an error pops-up: "Purchase Failed The operation couldn't be completed (SKErrorDomain error-2005.)" Nothing was unlocked. There's no response from numerous queries to Agile Partners Support now for days. I even tried purchasing it again. The second transaction shows up, though forutnately as $0.00. The app works on my iPhone and I had years ago unlocked everything on it. As far as I know that one still works. I hoped to get a bass amp on my iPad. I can only give it one star. If Agile Partners fixes this, I'll change this review. If they even respond, I'll update this review. Help!.Version: 2.2.7

Pleasantly SurprisedI work with a lot of acoutsics, and acoustic guitars. Ran it through my Washburn 6 String, Martin 12 string and a clasical guitar, using line out into an amp, and line in to an iMac, and it surprised me. The sound quality was good, no latency - on the iPad that is. When I used the iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.3, it "hiccupped" a little. This may be because of the phone, and not the app itself. Well worth the money. On the road a lot, and I can record stuff to email home. The only downside - there's a lot of pedals for Distortion, and not a lot for acoustic guitars. LESS Distortion pedals please! It's pretty bad when I can make a 12-String Acoustic sound like Van Halen. Some people may think that's awsome though..Version: 1.1

, Ampkit+le topJ’ai essayer plusieurs apps, dans le apple store sans doute le meilleur pour sa sonorité facilité utilisation.Version: 2.3

Ampkit rocksReally really great app for guitarists wanting to Jam anytime anywhere. No bugs I've found yet. It's easy to use and I'm actually using this live it sounds that great and realistic! I would call it top I'd the line for interfaces and software I'm currently running the iRig with it as I like it better than the peavey one. All round amazing app. Future of guitar.Version: 0

Great.Fantastic app. Use it all of the time! Great sounds great effects! 5* :-) could do with an update tho!.Version: 1.1

Wow, just Wow!I recently purchased my first electric guitar after playing acoustic for about three years. I do not have a fancy amp or any pedals. I bought the iRig 2 for the iPad along with this app and have been extremely pleased with the kind of sounds I have been able to make. The possibilities are endless. This combination has just made my journey into playing electric guitar so much more exciting and I have not even scratched the surface of what I can do with this app. It does take a little time to setup and adjust to get what you like but for me that was part of the fun and a learning process to be remembered..Version: 2.2.4

New wave of audio recording has officially now begun......It's about time. Finally a track recording amp simulator where you can MONITOR THE RECORDING OUTPUT SIGNAL. It's the only one in the entire app store that has this feature. Also you can set a precount when you are recording so your loops line up properly. I haven't found another app that can do that either. In addition: -You can play over your recorded tracks which are called background tracks.(great for mode practicing) -you can use an irig (what I use) or other 3rd party input devices (make sure they have a monitor output on the device). You can use line signals with impedance adapter if there is no line-in (dynamic mics, synths, mixers etc.) -you can pick actual instruments for your click track. (kick drum, hi-hat) -it sounds incredible and with the right settings you can get musical sounding feedback, just like a real amp. (I was drooling, this is a very difficult feature to attain with software) -you can reamp your dry signal in re-amp mode -you can e-mail yourself or others your recordings. -it's a cinch to upload and download to your computer and it sounds great. When you open the URL and choose the download option, control click and choose download linked file. It will then appear in your downloads folder. Copy the file into an audio file in logic or protools and whoala! Imported. You can choose the wet, dry or both recordings. Do the same thing to import your sampled drums or whatever (bounce first within locators). Suggestions: -multitasking support please..Version: 0

Amazing app restores just fine these other reviews are by idiotsApp is amazing and does amazing job .can restore just fine if you pay attention just was moved. says so in one of the reviews just pay attention. wish they would do new update and add a few more effects and or features though. overall great sound and great app. these other people are morons.Version: 2.3

Best bit of kit aroundI use this app all the time as it's far superior to the other simulators/emulators going. Always reliable and fantastic interface & tools. Some minor sound issues caused by the internet on the phone, but this is very, very rare. Highly versatile, high performance and actually makes me sound good. A wide array of tones available, suitable to any genre. Bit pricey, but worth every penny in my view!.Version: 1.2

GreatThis app is fantastic, it sounds brilliant...not great for electro-accoustics but brilliant for a pure electric guitar due to better pickups. This app pushed me into buying an electric and I have not looked back since..Version: 1.1

Griffin Stompbox compatibility please?!This app is amazing, only thing I hope they bring in is compatibility for Griffin Stompbox! That would make this app 100% perfect and make performing live much easier!.Version: 2.2.4
