AmpKit - Guitar amps & pedals for Positive User Reviews

Good Except for "Resore Purchases" FunctionAs many have stated in the other reviews the restore purchases button is no longer showing in this app. After considerable research and time fiddling I determined that pressing on the small grey line at the bottom of the gear listing (looks like a divider line between gear list and icons at the bottom) will restore purchases. This is not well documented and seems to make it difficult for users to know how to be able to restore their purchases. Other than this issue I like the app..Version: 2.3

Very goodI like this app, although I'd question whether it's better than GarageBand and yet it's very costly. I really like the interface but some effects, such as the digital delay, let it down somewhat - this one particularly sounds quite poor which is a shame. I've owned a few line 6 modelling amps, micro cube, Boss GT 8, GT 10, pod (multi effect processors) and a few laney amps. I think the modelling for what it is is very good - better than some amps and mep's, but the real gem is the functionality which blows pedals/mep'sout of he window. Overall very good and perhaps good enough for a bedroom guitarist to ditch his practice amp ! I use the apogee jam with this and get no feedback whatsoever - I've used the irig and its poor in comparison; hey, you get what you pay for ! Word of warning though - if you buy the jam it won't connect to iPhone 5 or iPad 4 as it comes with 30 pin adapter only (believe me!) and you must spend £20+ on the apple adapter - apple don't put that in their promotional material. It's disgusting really but not apogee fault - they've chipped the connector so no aftermarket connection will work. Still, great with ampkit..Version: 1.4

The only guitar app worth itVery impressive sound quality even on acoustic clean setting there is some good full bodied sound. Used with an apogee jam. Tried the other main three guitar adaptor apps which sound crappy gimmicky in comparison. Thank you! My holidays will never be the same again.....Version: 1.3

Best sounding modeler of the lotI have tried many different iOS amp modeling apps but AmpKit is superior to all others in sound quality. Particularly the Soldano clone called the 'Sultan' with its crisp top end and layers of overtones, it really cuts through the mix. There is a tiny bit of latency compared to some other apps but it's worth it for the great tone. I recommend the Peavey AmpKit HD with the optional charger (which no other has) for the best sound. My Bluetooth midi foot controller works well with AmpKit too. One of the best things, unlike others, is that you only pay once for extras across different devices with AmpKit installed, such as iPad, iPhone etc. Finally, it has the unique facility to backup or share setups via email or Dropbox..Version: 1.4

Thank You.At a time when most app developers and Apple themselves are citing 'hardware limitations' as an excuse to not support the iPhone 3G and iPod touches: Agile Partners demonstrates their raw talent and unrivaled determination to not only create a stellar app, but to also have it working perfectly, bug-less, on almost every iDevice out there! Another testament to their incredible work is that now that the app is out, their still working hard on releasing a free iPad update, aswell as more pedals! I honestly wish more application developers were as thoughtful and hard working as you guys. Your an inspiration to all young budding software engineers out there..Version: 0

Excellent!Absolutely outstanding! Very durable and sounds amazing!.Version: 1.4

O.M.F.GYou guys...I mean...seriously...If you've been looking for the perfect amp that will give you the most authentic tone AND for an affordable price, you've found the said amp. Ampkit is 30 amps, 30 pedals, 7 microphones and a whole bunch of settings to play with. Of course there are in-app purchases, but paying 3,99$ instead of 50$ for a pedal is what I call pure competition. I've used Amplitube for at least 4 months and it never gave me that TONE I was looking for. Awesome, revolutionary, outstanding, 10/10..Version: 2.2.6

Great practise ampLove it, no need to lug the full amp around.Version: 2.2.1

Rocking ampsWicked how easy it is to get all the sounds u need!!!!.Version: 2.2.1

Purchases restored!!!!Was a Danger here. After having purchased entire package, it was not used for a year and was not able to use it without repurchasing entire pkg again. response from support was slow after repeated attempts BUT they finally contacted me and restored entire selection of amps and pedals via gift codes. Cudos to you ampkit!! So...has a nice variety of amp and pedal sims that do a great job and are very tweakable. Try to catch the 19.99 full pkg sale and just do it..Version: 2.3

OhhhhhWhat.Version: 1.1

Great Amp and Pedal Simulator.I have been using this software for a number years and it is one of the better ones on the App Store. It is easy to use and provides plenty of options. It needs to be updated and to include some new amps and pedals..Version: 2.3

Finally the Amp app I've been looking forI've tried amplitude and GarageBand but this seems to match my needs most by a long way in terms of sounds. The controls are much better too. I can recommend to anyone. I'm just using it with am irig..Version: 2.1

BrilliantHas got me playing again after a decade. Sounds and features excellent. If I had a suggestion it would be to develop how you organise set ups, backing tracks etc, especially favourites. But I'm sure this will come. Worth every penny to me..Version: 2.2.1

RayNice app.Version: 1.6

I love this AppI have bought a few others and none have the quaility Ampkit has. I would like to see a selectable output input section when using bluetooth, one less cable hanging around, I have a senheizer bluetooth hradset and run into a dead end when using it with this or any other app that requires input jack. Thank you for your Effort Allan Walker.Version: 1.2

Very effective. Well priced. One addition left to complete.Very useful. Very well priced, unlike most guitar modelling apps out there. Instantly and easily get started with a simple to use interface and grow your assortment of pedals, amps and mics that are straightforward to operate and understand. Beautifully crafted sound and effects that have a huge range of options to add to create an amazing stable of sounds for you to record or to play along with any song on your iPad. Of course you can use it to perform as well - having everything in one place to rock, not just your world. The system is so complete, they need just one more thing to create a complete musical experience and that's a Looper. So get on that one guys. Thanks, I the meantime!.Version: 2.2.6

Awesome results for meI love this app. I use it with a rock smith cable through a lightning camera adaptor and it works great. Had no problem with ‘restore purchases“ button after upgrading to a new iPhone..Version: 2.3

Really fun appThis app is fantastic for "average joe basement guitar players" like me who don't have money to spend on real sound equipment. You can play around with all kinds of sounds to figure out what you like before buying the real thing. It's also great for learning your way around an amp and what all the different pedals and effects do. It has some limitations. In the recording studio it would nice to be able to do some minor editing of tracks and to be able to lay down more than one track. But for what it is, it's a lot of fun..Version: 2.2.7

AmpkitThis the most realistic amp emulator. Versatile true amp tones and endless effects at a grate value..Version: 2.2.1

Worth it's weight in goldI started playing guitar quite late in life at age 35, but with this fantastic app I've managed to explore lots of different sounds and effects in a relatively short space of time with out having to buy lots expensive hardware and hours of experimenting with it, well worth it's weight in gold, thanks to the developers of this great product... Maybe it's not to late to think big?.Version: 2.2.1

Best amp app out thereI tried many different amp apps and the tones I get from AmpKit are by far the best. I couldn't be happier with this app. Keep up the great work guys!.Version: 2.2

Highly recommendI use ampkit with apogee jam in a live band frequently and it is amazing. The amp models and pedals sound fantastic...lugging amps and pedals around is a thing of the past. Highly recommend this to anyone who is thinking about converting to iPad for your guitar rig, I was blown away and people who see me use it are amazed that all the sounds are through an app. Get it..Version: 1.3

Good but I Have one QuestionDo you plug in a actual electric guitar to your device idk lol.Version: 2.3

Superb update :0)This is now by far-&-away the BEST amp sim on ios. The competition is in major trouble now, & they simply cannot come close to this at present. Just installed the new update on my iPhone then did direct side-by-side comparison to the previous version already installed on my iPod touch: the new update is fantastic, & the improvement in audio quality is absolutely huge! This was already the best amp sim & is now in totally another stratosphere compared to Amplitube et al. Now has MUCH richer sounds that feel like they have more 'air' behind them & now have far greater tonal nuance. You really can get some convincing, warm, rich (or twangy & glassy!) tones out of this. A treeeeemendous app!! Oh, & the new Summer Pack purchase has some very nice amps, cans & effects too :0) Aaaah, I JUST love it when your favourite apps get fabulous updates, & this one is a real treat! Copy & paste your recordings in Ampkit into Nanostudio & u really can produce some very good sounding tracks completely from your iPhone! Ah, int technology brilliant!! Yes the extra upgrades cost a couple of quid, but come on now, this is great stuff, & a bargain for the fact that u can have multiple full rigs in yer pocket, & they actually sound great (much much much improved tone in this update!)! One of the very finest apps on the planet :0).Version: 1.2

Best thing I've bought...EVER!!!This app is literally the best thing I have ever bought. It has everything! It's like having a recording studio in your pocket. It has all the leading and best amps and pedal effects to start you playing like a professional!.Version: 2.2.1

Best one yet but missing delay time in MS!!Best of iRig which is ripping other people off with their separate charges for ipad...Ampkit is universal!! Yay for that one. Lots of iRig customers are complaining and are not happy with the poor way IK are treating customers so Ampkit wins out with a lovely interface for both devices (And the best one yet) What this is missing for the D-Delay pedal is a delay time you can set in MS as it's a random number with no real reference to anything else. PLLLEEASE include this ampkit people. That's all for now..Version: 1.1

Great app all around.Worth the money. Sounds great. Works great..Version: 2.2.8

Pricey but worth itBought all the packs and like it a lot. I also bought the Ampkit connector and compared it the iRig. The Ampkit connector had superior sound quality and it did not matter what app I was using, i.e Amplitube, Jamup Pro etc. Glad I took a chance and bought it and not another iRig because I was giving my iRig to my niece..Version: 1.3

Great app*update* The updates to this app - especially since 2.0 - have greatly improved the sound quality of the amp modelling - it really sounds amazing. I'm still a sucker for that fender tube sound which still isn't quite there imo BUT.... The interface is so well thought out, the amp models give so much versatility (i can play acoustic, jimi hendrix and metalica all at the one gig) and it is just awesome value being universal, the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages. Also the new bass models are awesome! -------- Amplitube wins out if you are after authentic tube amp tone (esp. Fender) but ampkit is no slouch and succeeds in other areas where amplitube fails (retina display, high gain, 1 app for both iPad and iPhone). The record function is simple but fully serves it's purpose (are you really going to record full amazing songs on your phone??). Great sound, easy to use and the agile guys are great at listening to the users..Version: 1.4

BEST FOR EVERYTHINGThis app and of cause the hardware (£25-30) is the best 'effects box' because...: It's highly portable. Compact. Much cheaper than ANY other 'effects box' of the same calibre. It has got a built in tuner, metronome and recording AND finally with an adapter 1/8' to 1/4' you can PLUG it into your AMPLIFIER with the same quality. All in all You need this because it's the only choice for the modern guitarist..Version: 0

Best iOS Amp Sim Hands DownI have use this app for many years, and like others, have experienced some bumps along the way with restoring purchases. But all that was fixed long ago. Bottom line: the sound and feel for me is worlds better than the Bias stuff, AmpliTube or any of the others. It sounds better than many dedicated hardware amp modelers. I love playing through this and even use it live in some situations. I just HOPE the developers keep it alive!!.Version: 2.3

Just needs foot controlI use a 4x12 Mesa Boogie rig for gigging and I can't see that being replaced by Ampkit, but where it could be great is for running through stuff by yourself between shows. I've been using NI Guitar Rig on the mac for this but I much prefer Ampkit, both for its sounds and ease of use / setup. I'm using an Apogee interface which works really well but there's one major drawback, there's no way go change virtual channels with your feet. Knowing when to change amp channels / patches is an important part of rehearsals so for now Ampkit is fun but just not a practical rehearsal tool for me. Add the ability to use a simple foot controller and it would be perfect. Something compact would be great, just three or four buttons to allow patches to be called up. No need for expression controllers of effects on off buttons, keep it simple as that's the beauty of running Ampkit..Version: 1.6.1

Simple and screen reader friendly. This is the only guitar amp and petals simulator I have found that works completely with voiceover screen reader. Everything is accessible. It sounds great. And you can make some really good sounds for your guitar..Version: 2.3

Great amp simulationsPerfect for riffing on the go :).Version: 2.2.1

Great appLove it. More toys for the guitar. Easy for me to run my music teachers music playback to accompany my Bass. Highly recommended.Version: 2.2.5

ExcellentI have tried whit different apps and this is definitely the best. I use to play the electric bass.Version: 2.3

Really cool tool.Been using this when it 1st came out. Love the interface. With the new 2022 iPad Pro M2 the app is not working any more. With the M1 it worked. Loved the charging feature but now I’m looking for a usb to usb c adapter that will pass power and data..Version: 2.3

Awesome! Can never replace my main gear but nothing can replace this as my main digital rig 👍.Version: 2.3

ImpressiveImpressive sound bank with quality samples and a low latency overall. The app would benefit from a slightly easier way of applying a template of default settings to all 'amps', but can live without it too. Very impressed!.Version: 2.2.1

Well..I was upset as well when I couldn't restore my purchases , and not to long down the road they updated the app and my purchases were restored. I love this app , it has a good amount of effects and the price to get different bundles. Pedals , amp heads etc. isn't to bad. Check it out , you'll dig it! Strum on !.Version: 2.2.8

Cream of the current crop.Definitely the best of it's kind. Outshines the competition in terms of tone and features. Worth your money to buy the "+" version if you want a good selection of amps but the free one supplied is pretty versatile and so far I have purchased a bunch of the individual pedals (fuzz and delay etc) all of which are of excellent quality. Topped off with the recording and backing track playback this is one app that lives up to the hype..Version: 0

Great Sound in a small package!Absolutely love Ampkit! Best portable guitar rig going! Great features..... Love the on board tuner - easy to use & accurate. Ampkit is packed with useful features - perfect for demo work and more!.Version: 2.2.1

Love itI love this app just wish they would add more stuff to it and say what amp, speaker cabinet, mic and pedals are based off of.Version: 2.2.8

No multitrackAwesome program it's fun and it sounds really good only problem, it definately needs a multitrack option similar to amplitude then it would be 5star.Version: 1.1

Travelling jamming with guitar/bass and AmpkitTo have any number of combinations of amps, tones, fx and the pure convenience that Ampkit enables whilst on the road is brilliant. The absolute ease of plugging in a set of headphones to my phone or iPad (not bothering anybody in close proximity) opening the app and having it all at my fingertips with the ability to be able to recall and tweak any of my setups when wanting to jam on my bass or guitar is AWESOME. The huge selection of amps/cabs available and then add any combination of fx to jam/practice/write/compose whilst travelling/touring with either my bass or guitar(s) is fantastic... Highly recommend purchasing Ampkit from Agile to any working musician that wants amps/fx and 100's of variations of tone at their finger-tips, yet doesn't want the inconvenience associated with carrying/lugging around a small practice amp and fx. 5/5 Ampkit... You ROCK \m/.Version: 2.2.1

Best AppIts incredible how you can increase your technics and creativity using this great app. There a massive set of effects that is 100% sure that you are going to find what you are looking for!.Version: 2.2.1

Get ItReally, really fantastic. On my iPhone & iPad. Doesn't say so here but it also works with Apogee Jam which I would recommend as this uses bottom port not headphones meaning you hear through the speakers! I found you can also record to a click track and copy/paste into GarageBand which is just amazing. Can't fault it. 10 stars..Version: 1.2

AwesomeIf im drunk at a party i can hook this little godsend up to a hifi system dial up a great sound and totally rock out some great party classics, and be a total legend.Version: 2.2.1

Awesome from Mackyboy.I know I'm just a beginner with my first electric guitar even at my mid-life crisis age(epiphone black beauty les Paul 3pick ups) but I've got to say this app and link is awesome. At my stage all I need is a few amps & pedals to give me clean, or echo reverb,or rock crunchy sounds to practice the songs I want to learn. And now I can do it sitting on primrose hill in the sunshine with a pair of headphones and not an amplifier or power point in sight. Love it..Version: 1.2

FantasticGreat app, love it :D.Version: 1.2

Good enough to record withPuts the PRS and IK offerings in the shade. Already upgraded to Ampkit+ + other effects. Absolutely awesome sounds, low latency, low noise. Also got the Ampkit Link which is is far better than the equivalent passive offerings from others..Version: 0

BradAuthentic amp sounds, this free app is perfect for practice. Not top end but very usable..Version: 1.0

For those who aren't sure which one to get...I wasn't sure which one of these amp modelling apps to go for. I did try using an iRig with a couple of the other apps (Amplitube and iShred). They were alright but Amp Kit takes the cake and here's why: You can have as many effects in your chain as you want as many times as you want. The interface for setting them up and reordering them is powerful, fast and intuitive. There are (I think) a wider selection of effects too. The others limited the number of effects you could use and their interface was just not as tidy. Ampkit is just a much more flexible and useful piece of software. The hardware is also vastly superior. There's a reason that it takes batteries and it's to do with 'cross talk' which causes distortion. Not 100% on what exactly cross talk is, but the bottom line is that it ruins the sound (and therefore the fun) and the Peavey device doesn't have it. The sound quality using the Ampkit Link with Ampkit is phenomenal. Much better, I think, than the competition. It all works really well. The only downside is that you have to use headphones or line out to an amp. You can't seem to use the built in speaker on an iPad. I daresay that there is a good reason for that. Apart from that, it would be nice if the effects were a bit cheaper, but to be honest, I think £2 a throw is par for the course. Overall, I'm really impressed with it and I HIGHLY recommend it..Version: 1.2

AwesomeAbsolutely amazing!!! The best app money could buy!!! All that equipment right in my pocket, thank you!!!.Version: 2.2.1

Some of the best tone out there! There are many guitar amplifier emulators out there today, but AmpKit has remained in my top list for years due to their high quality sound output. Being able to export and share presets is perhaps the thing this app does better than any other competitor though. Sharing presets that can be of amazing sound quality is priceless..Version: 2.2.1

All purchases are goneNo option to restore I want my money back.Version: 2.3

AmpkitIt has allowed me to practice with different rhythm's the you gave me, thru guitar and drums..Version: 2.2.1

Good to learnNot the best app, but GarageBand is actually way worse than this, not that I’m calling this app bad, because I like this app to play in quiet times... I’d rather play than not have anything at all.. this app is pretty good have had had it for about a year I like it.Version: 2.3

Free for a reason! Don’t say I didn warn you.Read the reviews everyone that bought it leaves a bad review and the free people love it..Version: 2.3

Big sound - best supportIn the end what you want from an app like this is great, professional sound for your day to day stuff. This app delivers outstanding sound and lots of useful features like drum track, jam along backing stuff and chain able effects. What blew me away was the support. I had a latency issue which turned out to be latency in my amp, but their support had me on the right track in record time and helped me isolate the issue in less than a day. Wow!!!! A*. If the world worked a well a this app and its support then perfect harmony would be the order of the day (sorry for the line pun)..Version: 1.2

Dynamite App!Really nice hi gain stuff. Like the recording features. Worth every penny..Version: 2.2.1

ExcellentThis app is wonderful. I am using it on my ipad and the Apogee Jam interface (great device by the way). The guitar sounds are really great. Instead of using my Marshall amp I spend much more time on this app: great variety of sounds (various amps and pedals) and the ability to record makes it fun to use. I only wish we could record multiple tracks. What I do is that a copy-paste my tracks into Grageband. The price of the app is relatively high (I purchased the clean kit and the power kit for 20$ each), but I do not regret it. I highly recommend. Guitar sounds better than with Garageband. Presets are good. You can play along with backing tracks. By the way avoid the irig device it is a piece of crap..Version: 1.2

Very Good !Pro app' Good sound but keep ur device away from ur amp..... Worth the money.....Version: 2.2.6

Irig compatibilityI just bought amplitude and irig before I saw this app and was a bit annoyed as this one looks better. So I downloaded the free agile app and plugged in the irig to see if it would work and it did:) I'm now thinking of downloading the full app. Did this work for anyone else?.Version: 0

Great AppAm so impressed by this app - made better by recent update whereby amps can be turned off, and you can use just the pedals if you so desire. I admit that you are never going to get perfection from sofware & hardware such as this, but.. For the money I cant really fault it - I have in-app purchased most of the pedals & amps via the 'packs', this works out very much less than a multi effects pedal of lesser capability. For info, I am using an Alesis ipad Studiodock as the interface, with output to a 50w marshall acoustic amp. The best feature for me is the ability to easily: select, adjust, and route the vast range of effects - anyone with a pedal bench, will appreciate the ability to do this. Also, the amps themselves are quite convincing, having played a few, which I could never afford - now I have them (or at least a good approximation of them) at my fingertips. I've heard some not so good reviews from people using i-rig type setups, but I think this is hardware limitations rather than the software itself..... Downside's... Not many. For what it is it's great, perhaps the loss of tone when noise & feedback filters are turned on, but I havnt found myself needing these Overall, top marks! The best amp & effects software out there IMHO.Version: 1.2

WOW!!!I simply LOVE this app and have amazing guitar tone with it. Never would i thought this quality of tone would be possible on an iPhone... Great product at a great price. Strongly recommend!.Version: 2.2.1

Works well with Traveler Guitar MI-10 Mobile InterfaceMy need for this app is simple - practicing in my hotel room while on the road for my day job. Ampkit is perfect for this when combined with my Traveler Guitar Speedster and the TG MI-10 Mobile Interface. The sound quality is adequate, but more important for me are the integrated tuner and metronome, and multitasking. I had previously tried the Line 6 app and interface but it lacks multitasking, a real show stopper. Ampkit plays nice with other apps like ForScore..Version: 1.4

Audiobus!!!!Please add AUDIOBUS support. Without it its just a toy, not a production tool. I wanna be able record to Auria or Cubasis.... PLEASE!!!!!!.Version: 1.5

Must HaveI can’t play real amplifiers anymore. This app has saved me 1000s of dollars in amp swapping. Thanks!.Version: 2.3

Great sound, very dynamic, universal app!I use Ampkit a lot since I live in an apartment and can't play out loud. My guitars have active pickups and the distortion that I get from this app rocks! This app is universal, meaning that you buy once and you can install on any other iOS device that is linked to your apple account. I recommend this app to beginner or experienced guitarist that want to find their sound and that want mobility. The fact that you can plug the output of the app into a mixer easily without microphones, make it's very versatile..Version: 2.2.1

AmpkitExcellent sound...amps are easily the most authentic sounding I have heard from the iPhone...I have since purchased the 'power pack' which is rocking, the ability to change amps and settings whilst listening to your recordings is also very handy...I have also used ampkit for recording which also sounds great through my daw and monitors ...9/10.Version: 1.1

Great SoundAwesome app. Sounds great and affordable..Version: 2.3

TIme to throw out your Amp!AmpKit works exactly how I'd hope that my real guitar amp should work. You play with the settings, find a sound that you like and save it so you can return to it later - with my real amp you never seem to be able to get back to that sound because it has so many dials and no saveable presets. I've used Ampkit with both my iPhone 4S and my 1st gen iPad and it works great with both. I use an Apogee Jam to plug into either one and send the output to either headphones or my hifi. It all works great with no lag. The free version of AmpKit is a great starting point; it gives you chance to try out whatever method you have of connecting your phone/pad to your guitar to ensure it works and is perfectly usable. Anyone who is remotely serious about playing/learning guitar will find themselves wanting the upgrades which do start to get expensive. That said the ones I've tried are high quality and considerably cheaper than going to my local music shop and buying new hardware. Overall I love Ampkit. I use it every day and have consigned my real amp to the spare room, so Ampkit is responsible for my house being tidier too!!.Version: 1.6

Finally an UPDATE!I’m still using this app after so many years and it’s still working smoothly with iPhone7+ and latest iOS. I’m connecting my guitar thru AmpKit LiNK HD The effects sounds realistic just connect it to decent headphones or amp to fully enjoy! I hope Agile Partners will be active in supporting and developing this app because it’s a very good app. Also they should create a script that will automatically convert the regular AmpKit to AmpKit+ if the AmpKit+ Bundle Upgrade has been purchased..Version: 2.3

Outstanding appI have been using this app for some considerable time and not found any other App that comes close to the quality and expanse of sounds available with this superb application. The recent update is the icing on the cake with new features and even more great sounds. With excellent MIDI support I can now use my Behringer 1010 MIDI foot controller to control all parameters within each insert. Just superb. Trevor.Version: 2.2.1

Great AppWhat can I say... portability , quite realistic sounding amps & pedals , allows me to play late at night when everyone else is sleeping ... great app..Version: 2.2.1

Sounds goodWorks fine with Apogee Jam and gives a good sound. Am working out whether to spend extra on more effects since I already have Garageband. Would be good to know on the gear support page which presets are covered by which purchase, ie if I buy bundle x I will have the gear for the following presets or even for each amp/pedal which presets it is used in..Version: 1.2

Best amp/pedal simulator on app store!!I've tried garageband, amplitube and ishred and this is by far the best app for guitar. The clean is sparkly and distortion is harmonically rich even at full gain. Sounds significantly better with Apogee jam, not as good when used with irig. You can use it on stage with apogee jam and good speakers. It's that good!!.Version: 1.3

The best!I have all the amp simulation and effects apps on here. I have been playing for 30 years. This one is the best sounding and has the best feel with breakup..Version: 2.3

Awesomeness in a lil package!!Out of all the iPhone amp apps out there, this one is so far the best for overall sound and crunch. I love it. Bought all the add-ons. It's a must have..Version: 2.2.1

Wow!Bought the Griffin GuitarConnect cable and used iShred Live for a week. I've been somewhat disappointed. Just found this and it's like night and day. Amazing! I haven't forked out for the effects, they seem expensive, but if they're as good as the base product, I might give them a go..Version: 1.2

Awesome app.Yeah.Version: 1.6.1

Pleasantly Surprised.I'm a metal guitarist, so I've been looking for an app which has a decent sounding heavy metal / thrash sound that I can practise with. Having pretty much all note worthy guitar amp apps I started to loose faith (and money) when I came across AmpKit. After a rocky start using the iRig I transferred over to the Apogee Jam and found that it worked alot better. So my advise is you are better off using the Apogee Jam rather than the iRig, because the iRig tends to cut the noise out when the volume goes under a certain frequency. Also it makes alot of nasty background noise too. So just to sum up, for me, after a lil bit of tweaking, you get a really nice sounding metal distortion tone straight out of the free version, plus the ability to play along with your iPod music library is an added bonus too. Couple of little downers but you have to bear in mind, this is a practise tool..Version: 1.1

The best iphone guitar effect!People are complaining about the delay but it's just they don't know how to use it. align your delay effects after the amp and it sounds awesome! Ampkit is better by miles to any other guitar apps around, I've tried most of them but this one is certainly the best, love it! cheers!.Version: 1.5

AmpkitThis app kills the competition. I've got most of the amp simulators available on iphone and this is the only REAL AMP simulator!!!!!!!!!!!.Version: 1.3

Awsome appI love this ap.Version: 2.2.1

Amazing KitFor any guitar enthusiast this is simply the best app around. From metal to jazz, soul to funk, you can make your existing amp sound like anything you like. It really is an incredible tool to make any guitarist pick up their guitar and experiment with the huge range of amps, cabinets & effects for hours on end..Version: 1.7

Crushing!!!I was pretty disappointed today when I received my iRig and fired up Amplitube. The dissapointment was short lived after this app. If you want a decent metal sound, that's not hissy and has that punch in the guts feel to it, then this if. I owned a 5150 many years ago and this feels pretty special. I've got loads of amp sim plugs, sans amp, chrome tone, amplitube etc. and this trumps them all. I finally like I'm playing a guitar amp instead of a hissy, lifeless amp sim..Version: 1.2

AwesomeI love everything about this. The tones are amazing! I can't believe I can get all of this for less money then a bucket of chicken. There was a time I was skeptical about using my iPad for guitar effects, 5 minutes with this and a decent digital input like and Irig Pro it's just a beautiful thing, fun, easy any fully tweak able. Wait until it offers you the discount and unlock everything. It's worth a ton anyway even if it was never discounted..Version: 2.3

Awesome guitar app!1-Portabity, bring this anywhere along with your guitar and BAM! Instant jamming! 2-Recording any ideas instantly on-the-fly makes this app worth while! 3-Jam along with favourite tunes anywhere you go, with the most incredible sound customization! Peavey already makes the loudest, best sounding amps on the globe! No wonder this app is sooo amazing!.Version: 2.2.1

Very good but increasingly frustrating.I worked for many years as a sound engineer and have played guitar for about three decades. I consider Ampkit to be clearly the best sounding amp/fx emulator - at times quite breathtaking. Where the Ampkit development team need to step up is with support for hardware pedals. Competing apps support wired and bluetooth hardware, which allows the app to take on at least some of the roles of a performance pedalboard. At present you can't change a thing in Ampkit without taking your hands off the guitar and using the touchscreen, which really cramps your style even when jamming along with an album or with a friend, let alone anything more sophisticated..Version: 1.7

Sounds awesomeI got the AmpkitLink and this with the new Summer '11 pack and love it. The sound is very complex, all the way from cleans to high gain leads. I will definitely check out some more of the gear they have over time. The only thing I wish is that it would accept clipboard content to and from GarageBand, but half of that issue is probably with Apple..Version: 1.2

Great ToolLove Ampkit it allows me to test several pedals to find the effect and sound I want from my guitar. It also makes practising easier with my electric, I can hear my guitar without bothering anyone else..Version: 2.2.1

I upgraded to a new iPhone 7 from a 6I bout the whole package and now its gone. I did a back up from my old iPhone6 then did the transfer to the iPhone 7 and the app isn't in my iTunes and the iPhone6 list the app as well. I need help. I don't want to spend another $49 on this again..Version: 2.2.8

Amazing! What can I say this is brilliant! well worth buying the kit for perfect for if you want to just jam without having to get amps out etc the sound quality is brilliant when used with a good set of headphones I intend to maybe use it at band practice cuz it will save me having to cart my pedal board around even the free version can give you all the sounds you need by just tweaking the detailed amp settings I think it's just great having the sound of a valve head and 4x12 cab from your phone is just great will use time and time again deffo recommend this every guitarist should have it.Version: 1.2

Awesome! This app is amazing! It would be nice if there is an option to share my sessions on facebook or can send it through email.. Please do this thank you!.Version: 1.4

BrillOne of the very best amp sims , better than Bias FX 2 which I also have. And it's not true that it doesn't restore purchases, I did so with no problems, the fools who could not do it didn't access the purchases properly. The price is great, the ENGL for example costs a mere 3 bucks, the cab simulation is also great. There's official sims of Peavey amps and Rocktron gear, and more, it's incredible that this amp sim is being ignored in favour of less sonically capable amp sims. The Sansamp sim is impressive, and superior than the same in THU, which is otherwise as excellent.Version: 2.3

Great bit of kitWhat you have to remember about this is that it's an app, not a room full of amps, pedals, mics and cabs. Not only that it does a great job of just getting you playing. There's a new generation of software out that allows you to fiddle with the internal setting of the amp and do all kinds of wonderful stuff. Would I buy them, no because apps like this for me are just about one thing, making music. Although there's a fantastic range of gear and options there's not so much that it's hard to get a great sound quickly. With Ampkit you can dial a great sound within seconds and get right to the good stuff of just playing and jamming quickly. I'll be using this for many years to come..Version: 2.2.1

The update fixed it late 2017 !!!I've had this app for a while. I paid for the whole package, all was well for a year, then they had a problem, and then they fixed it. I use this on a regular basis. I would say for home use this is PERFECT ! I use it all the time with an iPad or iPhone. I love the variety and the sounds are really good. A lot of warmth , good echo, delay etc. I love the app but the quality of your interface (the thing between your phone and your guitar ) help make it sound even better. Buy the whole kit for about 40 bucks and you get everything. And there’s a ton of stuff. Used peavey interfaces are about 20 bucks and about 60 for an HD model. Great app. Glad they fixed it.Version: 2.3

Ignore this review!Edit - I downloaded the standard version and not the Plus version. Downloaded plus version and all purchases restored!! I’ve been using this app as my primary home practice tool for the last 3+ years and spent a good chunk of cash on unlocking all the amps and pedals. I buy a new iPad and go to restore my purchases and nothing has been restored. Bare this in mind if you buy anything in this app. Disappointing..Version: 2.3

The quintessential Guitar ProductAs a 16 year old who loves to play guitar and share my love of music with the family, Ampkit was exactly what I needed. The combination of both the Ampkit Link and the outstanding app has unlocked doors for me to transpose the music in my mind to my guitar with the click of a button. I love it..Version: 2.2.1

Awesome!I use this on my iPhone 4 and my ipad2. It just works! Great for practice with headphones or Jamming along with your iTunes stuff. The range of tones and effects is amazing. Very little lag too. I can't fault it. Maybe a bigger recorder section, four track would do. The tones are better than amplitude but it lacks in the recorder is all..Version: 2.0

Fantastic Practice App with great soundsWith the recent ability to access songs direct from the iPod section, this does now tip the balance away quite considerably from Amplitude and even though I have the iRig adapter it works very well once you turn on the feedback filter. Having recently rejoined the ranks of the gigging guitarist after a 13 year break and being given a three set list to pick up quickly, Ampkit is proving invaluable as a practice tool. The sounds are amazing even with small in-ear phones and getting a balance between the original track and the guitar sound is quite easy (unlike some of the other alternatives). Highly recommended for both new guitarists and seasoned professionals.... Now if I can just find my Peavey Mace head in here somewhere .... (Don't bother with the Studio Pro 40 please - thats retired in the loft these days :).Version: 1.1
