Disneyland Lines (TP) for Negative User Reviews

Off by a longshotThis app predicted the park would be far less busy than it actually was the day we were there, meaning we saw a lot less than we promised our kids. The app predicted a crowd of 4/10 on their scale. I just checked, and it was actually a 9/10 while we were there. If you had a weather app that told you it would be 40 degrees tomorrow and it turned out to be 90 degrees, you probably wouldn't rely on that app much. Consider that before relying on this one..Version: 1.9.8

Completely inaccurateUsed the application and the times given had no relation to the actual times, even worse were the estimates of the disney fast passes (4+ hours out). I'm not sure how they are "estimating" the wait times but for us, on a public holiday it was useless. I would never use this application again and warn people to stay clear..Version: 1.4

Was great but chat is ruining itI have used this app for years and found it really helpful, especially the chat. Unfortunately while the wait times are still great to have, the chat has become a tremendous waste of time. It used to be that you could see all kinds of great up to date info from experts. I really was helpful for planning that rare vacation. But a very small group of “liners” have completely taken it over. You have to read their personal thoughts on things like homelessness (people “want” to be homeless), immigration (anyone without insurance must be an “illegal alien”), and such mundane things as how someone feels about stubbing their toe. I wish I was making these up. What any of this has to do with disneyland is beyond me. The chat moderator seems to think that this is fun for us to read and we can “chose” what to read, but you can’t find any good information without sorting through the personal stuff people post online. Use the online version and print your itinerary, or get the app for the wait times. But save your precious time and stay away from the chat, we take disney vacations to get away from this sort of thing. Look for up-to-date info from other sources that are true travel sites with useful information. I used to recommend this to all my friends, but was embarrassed after the last person asked why I thought this would be useful. So sad to see something so good fall so far because some people they can’t find another venue for their social needs..Version: 1.9.8

App hasn’t been updated in 5 yearsIt seems like the app works okay, but it doesn’t utilize the full display of my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I’ve installed the mobile version of the Touring Plans website as a workaround. Doing do enables me to see more content. It would be good to update the app to take full advantage of larger displays..Version: 1.9.10

Fastpass times usefulIt was useful as it had the fastpass wait times. However, the posted wait times were frequently inaccurate. Some of the free apps were better in this regard..Version: 1.5

Highly InaccurateI bought the subscription because this was highly raved about always being accurate on wait times and crowd index. WRONG!! We’ve visited 3 times in the last 2 weeks and every time the crowds were much higher than predicted and the wait times were highly inaccurate. Our last visit was supposed to be a 4/10 and the crowds were more like 8/10 like they are on a Saturday in Peak season. I’ll stick to the free apps because they are much more accurate. Don’t waste your money on the app, buy a churro instead..Version: 1.9.8

Times way off and now customized plans not workingI had high hopes for this app. But the first day at DLR, the wait times were way off. App would say 5 minutes and posted times would be 40 minutes. I kept trying to optimize the plan during the day hoping the wait times would update what we could actually get done. The second day, the app has been completely useless. When clicking on to see my customized plan, it just says there was an error. I emailed them with no response..Version: 1.9.8

Not ImpressedI got this app because others in a Disneyland group suggested it. I paid the $8 for the year since I live local and have an AP. I found it to be incredibly inaccurate, non-intuitive, more hassle than help, and a complete waste of time and money. The line wait times were way off, I tested 3 times and they were all at least 15 minutes off. I would have been happy to share real time info (e.g. heard the announcement that one of the Soarin theaters went down, doubling the wait time), but couldn’t find a way to do that. I’m not going to work that hard to figure out a PAID app that is supposed to save me time. I ended up wasting park time trying to use it. Wish I could get a refund as I used it a total of 4 hours before ditching it..Version: 1.9.10

Not as accurate as the WDW versionWe went to Disneyland and DCA in October 2015. First off the app said 4 of 10 for the 2 days we were there. If that was a 4 I'll never go there again unless it's a 1... It's too crowded and too local! As for the lines times, we found the Official Disneyland app to be more accurate. We used lines in Disney World in 2010 and it was a lifesaver. But out in Cali it was off approx 40% of the time. We stopped using the lines app by mid afternoon both days. Not sure if this was due to the 60th anniversary or not but it was way to crowded for an October and as a result the wait times were posted shorter than they really were....Version: 1.9.8

Genie+ queues ruined the predictabilityWith Disney over prioritizing Genie+ lines, the algorithm needs to be updated for the standby estimates. I compare the published times and the expected times and the published are typically more accurate. The app used to work fairly well. But more recently 2023 the estimated wait times are not even close for standby. The estimated downtimes are also not accurate. So I will not be renewing my subscription..Version: 1.9.10

Good in some ways but inaccurate in othersAlthough wait times are mixed in terms of accuracy the park hours seem to conflict with attraction. For example, on a Monday it shows the park closing at 8:00 but shows the "world of colour" show at 8:30..Version: 1.6

Not helpfulWe took our kids to Disneyland for the first time this week. I haven’t been in years. My twins are 5. I attempted to use the app and create plans for the best of with kids day and other suggested similar plans. I had a hard time going back and forth on the app trying to locate the plans I created bcuz everytime I had to use my phone for something else it would kick me out. Took too much time to get back to where I needed which o didn’t have the patience for while trying to plan my day. Got to Disneyland City Hall to talk to them about plan for day and clarification on best way to use our Max Pass. Showed her the plan from this app and she told me it was way too much jumping around to do with kids and lay out a plan for me step by step with what rides to go on, when to plan next fast pass.... etc. and it was perfect. For me, this app was useless and I didn’t even use it. All I needed was the Disneyland app and I had everything I needed for both parks. Disappointed I paid for this not to get anything out of it..Version: 1.9.10

Worst app everThis app is horrible. It was never even close to being right on any wait times. The app would say the wait time was 15 minutes but the wait would really be 45 minutes. Our trip was from 2-4 August and during that time it never once was correct. It couldn't even correctly tell you if a ride was closed. I tried using the plan function for a 2 day with small child choice, but it continually had me Trying to do rides that were way over any small child's height requirement. I found that the free apps were way more accurate and helpful. I spent 1.99 for the week membership and I should have just given that money to a homeless person hanging out around the park. At least then someone would have got something useful out of my money..Version: 1.9.8

SighWait times are highly inaccurate. Especially for California adventure. iOS 9 is almost out yet this app hasn't updated it iOS8. Confusing interface. When a ride goes down it eventually gets reported but often does not get reported when it's back. The app needs better incentives for people to make reports. And it needs to be easier to do. Waste of time as it is today. Using this app will cost you time not save you time..Version: 1.9.8

AppOverall good. But frustrating you can't amend your plan in any detail on the iPad and iPhone app. To change the times of park entry etc. I had to log in to the laptop and go on touring plans to do it! This was very frustrating as you can't do things on the fly while in the park. I was surprised. So it was great for planning ahead of time! I used it for creating plans. But the app was completely useless the day of the plan as I couldn't change any times etc. All I could do was remove steps or say they were done. This should be changed so times can be amended. Also, couldn't add in show times. Disney junior, Aladdin etc. don't come up as attraction choices to choose specific shows. Also, if you create a plan and choose a fast pass option, then the plan should automatically put the actual ride in at the the fast pass return is estimated for. I had to do this manually with each plan and this was frustrating. So lots of things to improve to make it more user friendly on the day of the plan..Version: 1.5

Great data, awful UI makes me not want to use itClearly the data is impressive— lines are almost always closer to what TP app says than the official Disneyland app. The features, like cloning suggested plans and modifying them to your heart’s content, then getting updates on wait times accordingly, are powerful. But the UI is terrible. Unhelpful errors (“Error 01!” What does that mean?) I got an hour ago persist at the top of the screen. Difficult to navigate, aesthetic looks about 10 years old. Seems like they really don’t care about user experience. Find myself jumping back to the official app because it’s just easier (and Disney’s apps are no panacea either.) Hope the devs improve the UI to match the top quality data..Version: 1.9.10

Needs an updateBesides an update by Apple to create a Apple Watch icon, this app was last updated by the developer over six years ago. It’s old. It’s ugly. And it’s slow. Meanwhile, the same developer released a Line 2.0 update to the Disney World version of this app over a year ago and just updated that app again to add Lightning Lane functionality. I understand that the developer is based in FL but that’s no excuse for them to take CA users for granted. If the app isn’t updated soon, I will be letting my membership lapse when it expires in May and deleting this app from phone..Version: 1.9.10

Estimates way offI’ve used the lines app for the past 4 vacations when visiting the Disneyland Resort since 2017. In my past trips the estimated crowd calendar as well as ride wait times were eerily accurate. On my last trip in March 2022 the crowd calendar was off, I assumed it was a fluke. This past week, March 2024, I had planned our dates around low crowd calendar dates. However, actual crowd data showed our dates were actually an 8 & 9 not the 4 & 6 we planned on. Also, with very few exceptions, the ride wait times were much higher than listed in the app. I love planning touring plans, but don’t know that I will continue to do so with this app as it’s proven very inaccurate..Version: 1.9.10

Great Features, But Needs A 2017 FaceliftAlways loved what TouringPlans offered. I live by their work and data every time I visit Disneyland. The app works fine, but just needs an update to keep with the times..Version: 1.9.8

Helpful to plan but not as great as I thoughtI was quite excited about using the app during our stay. Helpful for planning but I agree with some others- the wait times were typically wrong esp. for the popular rides. The app might say 15 min but it was really 45! Frustrated with Soaring which said 10 min wait and we got there...line was short and then told it was 45 more min. This was not clearly explained on app or at ride. Also the app doesn't give you up to date info on ride closures. We hoofed it to its tough to be a bug which app noted 4 min wait- got there and it was closed! Ugh..Version: 1.9.8

CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Subscription required! Are you kidding! Don't waste your time, and money!!!!!!!.Version: 1.5
