✓ DisappointedI am considering asking for my money back. I just paid for a year subscription and these magazines just don't download. I was trying to download the free one and it got to about 60% and said download failed (after over an hour) and now I'm trying to download one I paid for and it must have been going for about 3 hours now and isn't past 65%. I also think that the content in the pc gamer magazines as a whole has been getting shockingly bad when you compare it to a few years ago. I buy maybe 1 or 2 magazines a year and the only reason I paid for this subscription is becauase i thought it might be a good idea for when I'm just bored but I thought I'd be able to download a magazine and just read it within minutes not days..Version: 2.2.5

✓ Won't work with ios6They should really let people know that it isn't compatible with iOS6. Brought a mag on it, first it failed to download then when they updated the app it now fails to decompress and takes absolutely ages to download. ✓ Could have been great but........crashes to desktop on trying to open an issue. Not great when that's the app's sole purpose. No updates since July 2014 in spite of numerous ios changes. Poor support (I was told to reinstall and reset my iPad each time I wanted to use the app!!). Avoid until they can be bothered to update it (I have iPad Air 128MB).Version: 3.8.1

But dang it takes forever to load!Always loved PC Gamer mag, used to buy paper version, but this is much cheaper (: everything is crisp and looks amazing, *but* evidently the cost for that is insane loading times, after spending a fair while downloading the whole mag (even with 38mb line) you then spend another 5-20 secs per *PAGE* waiting for it to clear up before it's readable. Once that's sorted I will gladly 5 star this. Please fix asap :).Version: 1.9
✓ Slow loading, non interactive, intrusive advertsThe latest issue has replaced the front cover of the magazine with an intrusive advert in the Newsstand App. Utterly unacceptable, what if all my subscriptions began doing this? It would be a farce. The magazine itself is just a scanned version of the printed issue and despite downloading it, you still have to wait for the pages to load and become readable; the 'Retina Update' is just a slightly higher resolution scan. Disappointing rendition of a great magazine. I won't be renewing my subscription..Version: 2.0
✓ Good content, poor app - a missed opportunityNothing wrong with the content - PC Gamer has always been a quality magazine - but the app is just a PDF version. No added content, no formatting just for the ipad, no extra pics or videos, which is a real shame considering the Edge app (from the same publisher) shows how good a magazine app can be if you put some time and effort in to making the most of the platform..Version: 3.6.5

✓ Good Mag. Awful, Awful App.After using this app from release, I feel qualified in saying: the app borders on unusable. I have tried with multiple i-devices, from old right up to the latest generation, and the experience is always the same: slow, clunky and frustrating. Load times are poor. Turning pages often yields a 10 second (plus!) freeze. Frequent crashes. The experience is often so frustrating you switch to an online source, which loads faster even with dodgy 3G reception, then you ask yourself: Why am I still paying a subscription when this app has never worked properly and I can read similar content without being pushed to smash my phone up screaming, crying and cursing in a packed - and, frankly, pretty startled - commuter train? Not really a great swap for the physical magazine, it is actually quicker for me to walk to my local shop and buy it. And at least with the physical copy I don't get told i have to redownload an updated version. ✓ Ms dos in the 21st centuryOn my iPad three there are delays as the page evolves into something readable. There is no hyper linking that I have found and the layout doesn't appear optimised for the digital age. In a way it's embarrassing as it gives the impression that these are PC fanbois that will not accept that tablets etc are here to stay. ✓ Nice Looking App - But doesn't include special codesI am currently a subscription holder for the paper copy of the magazine, and was looking at reducing the cost of my subscription by going digital. However, because of the exclusion of the special offers/codes/free games that the print version has got, I will be waiting to see if they are included. ✓ Terrible!The iPad edition of a magazine should enhance the reading experience on a tablet. This is just a scanned copy of the mag. It is not formatted for the iPad so enjoy plenty of pinching and zooming to read the nearly illegible text. ✓ Error 442350Be very wary if purchased through iTunes. Active membership fine for subscriptions but standalone purchases generate error code for which the support centre is unable to resolve. Restore iTunes purchases does not work nor does reset credentials and reinstalling app..Version: 5.5.91

✓ What have they done????I've used this app for years being a digital subscriber, but it's bordering on unusable . The app seems to crash regularly and all my downloaded issues seem to disappear for no apparent reason, requiring them to be downloaded again. This isn't ideal if you work away. ✓ Deleted all my issuesI was looking forward to reading PC Gamer on my commute, but alas I have no PC Gamer so I'm writing this review instead. The app told me that because of an "upgrade" (strange - I didn't update the app) I would need to download all my issues again. Sure enough, where previously I had dozens of issues available for perusing, my iPad is barren. Overall score: 15%. Excellent content unfortunately fails to shine due to technical issues in the presentation and failing to make the best of the medium..Version: 4.9.4
