✓ Used to workI purchased this app sometime ago and it’s quite enjoyable, but for some reason it started playing ads after each hand even though it’s a paid version. It’s acting like the free version with ads, so I regret having paid for it. My advice to anyone considering purchasing it is don’t; just use the free one because you’ll end up with ads anyway. ✓ Too many addsThe game I'd fun and quick, but the adds are intrusive, covering the whole screen with no escape in the middle of a hand! It would also be great to get an option to exit to the main menu at the end of a game. I could only get back out to the menu by starting a new game, pausing it and the resigning it. ✓ A few issues with the latest version...This is an excellent game. The look is beautiful and the game play is good. There are just two issues that have come up in the latest version that makes it aggravating. First, the app now crashes at the end of a game about half the time. Then, when you start it again later, it shows the last play of the previous game. Second, the new splash screen stays up too long and is irritating. It was better when it went straight into the game. Really, guys. We know you're proud of the game, but you're not impressing anyone by irritating us every time we start it..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Have a Heart, or even better - all of them AND a Queen.Writing this on my wife's account, as I don't have one and play this on her iPad. This is a great game to learn and play, as there are a number of variables you can change to switch things up. With a higher difficulty comes different players, with different personalities. My favorite is to get "woofty" to come out and "woof" 4 hands in a row (hard to do, but a great challenge at all difficulty levels). I call it (loudly) "woofty-woof", or "Get 'em Woofty!" and my wife has stopped fighting it and just howls now. If I see it is possible, I call it "Woofty hunting". Currently working on consecutively winning Hardest level, with the Jack of Diamonds option. Haven't figured out the trick yet, but having a blast working on it. ✓ WTHThis game used to be very enjoyable to me. I downloaded the free version so ads were expected. The 20 second ads would pop up every 4 or five hands which was fine. This was a real fun about 2 days ago, this game has great graphics with realistic AI. Then I downloaded the updated current version and the 20 second ads pop up after every hand. This is BS. I have actually used the links to some of the ads to purchase other great apps, but shoving the same ads down my throat over and over again on apps I do not want makes this game unplayable anymore. You have completely ruined it with this update. And no I will not consider purchasing the ad free paid version now just for the reason of this sellout and ruining a game I liked so much. ✓ 30 second ads??? Too much!The game is fine, and I don’t mind reasonable ads to keep it free. But I am looking for another hearts game—some vendor called AdColony takes over my phone to run a 30 second ad for another game. Outrageous! ✓ Ads are obnoxiousI loved this game at first. The play is realistic and the game works well. I had learned to love the game of hearts again. But after a while the ads have gotten so aggressive that they actually not only interrupt game play but keep you from even seeing what happens. It actually stops in the middle of a trick to show an ad and meanwhile the trick plays out and is removed from the table! So you never even know who took it much less which cards were played. ✓ Ridiculous ad interference....Used to be a decent game with regular ads, those ads never bothered me. I've never been one to complain about ads on free apps because I understand how they support the developer in turn the users get free apps. However, now with this new format, the ads interrupt so many times during the game & it takes you completely out of the game into another screen. You can't even play a single round without getting booted out by an advertisement that forces you to watch a little before it allows you to click on "continue" & get back to your current game. ✓ Was a great game, but desperately needs updates.Excellent graphics, solid play, nice, unobtrusive animations, BUT they don’t properly support iPhones with notches and Home Indicators. Those literally came out more than two years ago, and there are still UI elements that are hidden behind the notch. The developer should be aware of this and needs to implement the UIKit Safe Areas from Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines. ✓ Missing the previous versionEdit 5/2/21: Obviously, the developer(s) have abandoned this addictive game, BUT, if they do revisit reviews, I’d like to see an update to the algorithm: 1) When I’m obviously “running” the game, other computer players automatically dump all their high hearts. That would never happen with all humans playing. 2) When playing the Jack of Diamond version (my favorite), adjust the algorithm with the computer opponents not to give up the Jack when they have other diamonds in their hand. If the developer can fix those items above, this would be the most enjoyable card game in the store - imho. I was forced to re-purchase this latest version to get rid of the ads even though I paid for the app several years ago. The animation is choppy and I can barely see the differences between hearts and diamonds (spades & clubs) because of the new tiny image size on the card faces. I do like that you can see the current score of each player during play. This was my favorite go to game - previous version was very professionally built and seemed to be pretty challenging yet predictable play (please make it more difficult!). The ads are EXTREMELY obnoxious so pay up to really get full enjoyment out of this classic game....Version: 2.1.7

✓ The best Hearts game until one has to buy it againI really think this was the best Hearts game for the iPhone but when I upgraded phones there appears a long advertisement after every hand. I tried the “restore purchases” but that didn’t work so now it’s unplayable. Most Hearts games are really rigged, dumping the queen on you as the other players work as a team. It doesn’t feel real. ✓ Good; Needs a Couple of ImprovementsI'm trying the free version to see if I like it enough to pay for it. So far, it's fun, although it seems as if the banner ads should be enough without watching the commercials, but the game needs at least two improvements. First, and most important, we ought to be able to go into the options and turn off the scoring where it shows the number of points people have so far in a hand. ✓ Good game; achievements badly brokenThis is a fun, beautiful game. It is challenging at the higher levels and good for teaching on the lower levels. If you like Hearts, this is probably the version you should buy. The bad, however is only important if you are trying to get the achievements, which are modest and will take a little patience and luck. The achievement system is horribly, badly, broken and dysfunctional. I was awarded multiple achievements over and over. All it took was for me to leave the game in the background and turn off the iPad, if I went back not the game, it did not recognize ANY achievements. So while I have been awarded all the achievements, I still only have 20 of 21 since the game is so obtuse that it doesn't recognize that I have the others already and will not award me the "get all achievements" achievement. If you want a game for Hearts only, get this. If you want a game for Hearts and like to get achievements, pass on this..Version: 1.0.1

Now they come continually, it's so aggravating trying to play because an add is constantly popping up just before you click your card to toss out.
