✓ Since iOS update:The gaming screen was cut by 3/4. The latest iOS update and another delete & download of this has improved the graphics substantially but not up to what the graphics’ size originally was. This WAS the best Spades available, but must have more tweeting before it’s up the its original standard.Version: 1.0.13
✓ Overkill!Love the game and animation. My only complaint is in the suicide game, if i bid nil, at the first opportunity my partner can break spades, the program opts for my partner to use the ace if he has it instead of a low spade. If I happen to have the king of spades…we are automatically set. That is real flaw in the bot play!.Version: 1.0.13

✓ AI partner needs updatingWhen playing nil why does your partner play for the other team? The opposing team plays a 6 Diamond, I play a 7 (my only diamond) the other team plays 5 and then my teammate plays a 3. The very next card she play the A diamonds. NO teammate would do that. ✓ Horrible banner adI used to really enjoy this game, I'd play for 10 minutes while sitting having a cup of coffee, it was one of the first games I ever downloaded onto my iPad. But now they've added a horrible and distracting banner ad across the top of the play page it's really spoilt it. Yet another app spoilt by money grabbing ads which spoil the whole purpose you downloaded it in the first place..Version: 1.0.9
✓ Game keeps ending abruptly after 2-4 handsI’ve played this game for years with no issues. Starting on 8/8/23 an upgrade was made and since then I have had nothing but issues. Screen refresh time is really slow and the game just ends and kicks me out of the application every 2 - 4 hands. Extremely frustrating..Version: 3.1.1

✓ Love and Hate the game!AI players (in single player) seem to always know which suit you are a little heavy in and just zero in til you go bust. If this happened incidentally I’d say it is just the luck of the draw. Enough comments have already been made about the AI partner not really having your back and having an insatiable appetite for Sand Bags. Really, who actually plays this way? Other than those nagging issues, I like the game and try to anticipate and play against the aforementioned anomaly’s. Hope it gets fixed someday but hey, whad’ya want for a couple of bucks?.Version: 1.0.13

✓ Why? Just why?Why are the clubs green? Why are the diamonds purple? Why does it have that annoying music when the app is opened? Why do I need options like “confuse one of the partners” or “be able to see one of the players hand”. ✓ Blind nilHad fun playing at first but when you play to a score higher than 500 the programmer has the computer players bidding blind nil as soon as they fall behind by significant amount. This ruins the playability of the game as the game ends before anyone makes the allotted target score..Version: 1.0.4
✓ Great game.....having an issue with screen sizeI’ve played this game for years, have been a few bugs but everything has always been worked out. However, now when I play on my iPhone, the screen of the gameplay is in the upper right hand corner of my phone screen. It’s very tiny and obviously I can’t play it like that. The navy blue background extends the entire phone screen, but just the board, hands, scoring, all of that is centered up in the upper right hand corner. I took a screenshot, but don’t know how to include that here. It works fine on my iPad, just an issue on my iPhone. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app with no luck. ✓ Good...but could be betterThe bug that makes the 2nd to the n-th hand deal the user everything except face cards and spades has finally been squashed! Excellent! Please fix the issue that this game has with sandbagging. There are 13 books in a deck...why are both opposing players and the user’s partner notoriously bidding between 2-3 books??? Then scoring between 5-7 books? Those sandbags add up quickly with the current system. And it is frustrating when you have built a comfortable lead and then have to give up 100 pts b/c the A.I. “partner” can’t bid! The “hint” bidding feature needs a tweak as well. Oh, and the A.I. will conveniently “renigg” during the course of a game. There should be a book checking feature to flag and recompense if it continues to occur..Version: 1.0.11

✓ TerribleThis game is absolutely terrible. If you can get past how awful the players are and how few options there are you would still need to get past the ads which are brutal and unbearable. The ads, which you can not by pass, rudely interrupt your game every few minutes and last 30-60 seconds. ✓ Super frustratingJulian - especially is developed as an idiot. Even at the Very Hard level. I thought maybe at that level he would be a little better, as some of the other ‘partners’ are. ✓ Spades bug fixThe Spades bug fix created another issue for iPhone 12 users; instead of the game being played full screen, it is a quarter of the screen, and my hand takes up most of the center where the cards are played. Sometimes I am unable to see the card played by the player to the left of me because my hand is covering it up. I will check often to see if/when you fix the issue, until then, I’ve downloaded another Spades game..Version: 1.0.13
✓ Use to be awesome.They recently revised the game, making it hard in the eyes and complicated. Features were added that I have no clue what they do. They had an amazing product, but really ruined it in the last revision. Kind of like New Coke. I hope they go back to the original formula Coke..Version: 3.1.2

✓ Updated Not BetterThe algorithm used in this version is far superior to the old version, but there are still unfixed problems. Playing solo is the best option because you really don’t have a partner to support your play. As I have tried out the various levels of play, it seems as there is no difference between easy and difficult levels. Additionally, this is no longer traditional spades, but rather a game with lots of gimmicks and needless bells and whistles. I personally don’t like all the music and noise generated during game play. No longer is there an option for complete silence, except for turning off the speaker on your device. Three stars for upgrading the algorithm for play, loss of stars for the same problems carried over from old to new..Version: 3.1.2
✓ Good spades gameI agree with everyone about team play and the AI. That is the reason I only play single player. As a single player game it is good with one main AI complaint. In single player mode if you play nil all other players try to bust you, as any good player should. ✓ New update makes game unplayableThis used to be a great game. The only one I could find with variations of spades. Although the update made previously small and difficult or sometimes impossible to see cards easily visible, the ai is horrible! I’m trying to play the Whiz variation and they will bid nil while having 6 spades, it is actually happening often. My AI partner bid nil and ended up winning 7 tricks that hand. There is little to no strategy on covering a partners nil bid. Since the update, not a single game I have played has been won by reaching the point goal. Every single game ends with one team going out the back door or having less than negative 200 points..Version: 3.3.0
✓ Went from just an OK Spades game to horrible..."The partner play is what needs improvement. Some of the cards played by the AI partner and the sequence of play just doesn't make sense. Especially in a Nil situation. It makes it hard to judge what to play because your partner doesn't play smart." That was part of my first review but after update, your partner just blatantly sabotages you. It's infuriating. ✓ Not playing until app fixedLet me start, I LOVE this game. I played it a lot (along with Hearts and Cribbage by the same company) before the most recent iOS update. Since then, the game board has shrunk and when playing, my hand partially obscures the board so you can’t see some of the cards played by the AI players. It’s horrible and annoying. ✓ Great gameUpdate June 2020: Please, PLEASE, get rid of the obnoxious reverse mortgage ad! No count down, just a long pause in the game. I’ve given up on more than occasion because of this. I don’t mind reasonable ads but this is ridiculous. Do better. There are other similar games available without the hassle. This has got to be the BEST spades games I have ever played online. ✓ Spades Ad Free ScamI purchased the ad free version of Spades several years ago. Concrete software recently updated the Spades game and “forced” the new version on me (automatically updated the new game on my iPad). With the “new and improved” Spades game, I must watch ads to play the game. I wrote to Concrete Software with my complaint and was basically told to “pound sand.” Concrete Software said it is not possible to play the old ad free game anymore and they do not offer an ad free option for the new game. Certainly, I can’t be the only person that thinks it’s wrong for a company to take your money promising something, then updating their software and telling you what you purchased is no longer valid. Kind of a “bait and switch” concept. Did Concrete Software offer to refund my money, of course not. ✓ Terrible AI PlayersThe graphics on the game are fine but the AI players are absolutely horrible. Example your partner will bid nil while holding the queen, jack, 10, 9, and 8 of spades. They will also continue taking max tricks after you’ve hit your bid. They also will lead with a 2 or 3 of a suit if you bid nil even though they could have lead with a suit you are out of. ✓ Horrible.....Sandbags, Steals Books, and Poor Scoring!First, I’ll start by saying the graphics and animations are Great! However the game play itself is very deceptive with scoring and awarding the booked hand. You bid your hand, you make your book, and the opponent is awarded your book after you’ve clearly won that hand. Example: Hearts lead (played by the opponent or even myself),everyone plays a hearts except for my AI partner or myself who cuts with a spade ( due to no hearts)...why is the hand then given to the the wrong team ( the book in this case should go to the player who cut with the highest spade, if that’s what was played to win the book). The game awards the book to the wrong team, the system seems to not recognize the sequence of players and who actually should be awarded the book based on who played which card and the value of that card. Not to mention the other problem of seriously reneging. The developers placed a lot of emphasis on graphics, which is Wonderful. Maybe now they can work on the integrity of the game with proper scoring and awarding of the books. Once this is done, you will have an exceptional product..Version: 1.0.13

✓ Fun and frustratingAt first this game is fun but it doesn’t take long for it to become frustrating. Your partner plays with absolutely no finesse. They often seem to play against you. The script is too basic. Your partner continually makes senseless plays. Taking tricks that make no sense and play against you, leading tricks that make no sense, and you cannot trust their bidding at all. I keep waiting for an update that will make this game play more true to how the game is actually played....Version: 1.0.13
✓ Inappropriate adsAt the end of each game is a 10 second or more commercial video! So get this, without warning the game ends (appropriately) and this loud video blares in your face. ✓ Purchase remove ads but it didn’t do it. Terrible customer service.I purchased the remove ads. The app crashed as soon as I did. When I opened it back up it didn’t remove the ads and still had the option to buy the ad removal. I contacted customer care, and showed them the screen caps of what was going on, and followed all their suggestions on how to fix the issue. None of them worked. I have proof that I did purchase the remove ads, and I also had proof that I couldn’t rebuy it again. After I sent this proof, I didn’t hear back from them again. I’ve even sent an email saying hello but they haven’t responded. So I guess they’re gonna get my money and I have to put up with ads anyway. I’m seriously considering just deleting the game. Also for some reason this game won’t remember that I connected it to Facebook 10 times..Version: 1.0.13
