✓ Was good...I enjoy this board game and used to enjoy this app as a faithful reproduction that offered a slick way to play the game quickly...but the new (forced) update is terrible. Graphics look cheaper, the table set up is difficult to understand and all in all is just not fun to play anymore. Needs to go back or have another massive overhaul ASAP!.Version: 2.0.4
✓ Quick play of a classic card gameFor the most part the 7 Wonders app works fine. Game play is pretty intuitive and the AI provides decent competition. I have found on a few occasions that it scores purple era III cards which score grey cards incorrectly..Version: 1.3.3

✓ Needs multiplayer but great gameThis would be a 5 Star review if I could play online with friends. They have a quick match method of playing online, but nothing else, no way to ensure you and a friend online are able to join the same game. Great game though, especially for the price. Didn’t even bother with the tutorial I find the gameplay is pretty intuitive if you’re familiar with the board game. Saw another review mention it would be nice to watch the other players take their turns, even AI to keep track of what they’re doing. ✓ Multiplayer is really badPlaying against AI is great, love the game adaptation and the expansions. However, I’ve never managed to finish a game online because every time the host is losing, he’s gonna leave at age 3 and the game automatically ends for everyone. Please implement a karma system to punish leavers and allow games to be restricted for x karma and above. And I would recommend to replace the player who leaves with an AI so that the rest of the players can still finish their game....Version: 2.0.0
✓ Amazing game! (UPDATED)This is a great game. I gave 5 stars a little over a year ago but did have one or two issues. But it has been a year since the game has had an update and it really does need one! I have had several problems when trying to play games with my friends. I get sent to my home screen whenever I try to join a game. Also, the screen size does not seem to fit on my phone. Some parts of the screen are cut off. This is definitely a great game and I highly recommend getting this app. But it is REALLY needs updates. ✓ AnnoyingHas a bug that messes up a lot of your games. When you choose to play a card from the discard pile more often than not it shows you no cards at all so the only thing you can do is quit the game and start over..Version: 1.1
✓ Bugged, requires internet accessThis would be a good, but basic, adaption of the board game if it did not have a very serious bug. You cannot reliably play the game without an internet connection. After several solo, "offline" games it will come up with an "Erreur" message (yes they forgot to translate that too!) indicating that it cannot load the game data without an internet connection. Once you get somewhere you can reconnect again the message goes away for another dozen or so games before coming back again. Hopefully the developers are active and can fix this rather serious bug as well as the silly translation omission. However these sorts of bugs suggest that this is really a late beta release rather than a final, polished product. I would suggest waiting a bit to see whether things like this get fixed and whether they add a bit more polish to the game like some way to see the details of final scores and some sensible names for the bots: with all the historical names they could have drawn on for AI player names calling them "bot 2", "bot 3" etc is a bit pathetic! Still the basic game mechanics and graphics are good and with a bit more spit and polish this could be a first class implementation..Version: 1.0

✓ Poor implementation of a great gameThe physical 7 Wonders is my favorite board game. This digital version does that game zero justice. The first mistake in implementation is that Wonder boards can be chosen instead of randomized, which is how the offline version works with a card being randomly selected for the corresponding wonder board. Expansion packs as in game upgrades are understandable, but only one player especially in a custom game should have to purchase it. If this were the offline version, everyone doesn’t need to bring a board game, so to make it paid per person is gluttonous. Lastly, since you offer cities and leaders, what about Armada?.Version: 2.0.3
✓ Great game, bad updateThis is a great app - it reproduces the board game perfectly and the play and very smooth and I enjoy the interface. A week ago it was an easy 5/5 stars. But this recent update has made all the text and even graphics very small and harder to see. Maybe people playing on tablets would be fine but it’s awkward on my phone. Not only is everything in general more difficult to see because of the size, but the new way they indicate when you can buy something, the cost, the chaining, it’s all awkward and not intuitive any longer. ✓ New update (2020 version) is TERRIBLEI played this game religiously and was hesitant to update, but my husband and I couldn’t play online together unless I did. But after the update the app started freezing mid-game, the graphics are TERRIBLE and take forever to load, it’s difficult to see what cards link to others, it’s an extra step to see what my neighbors military count is (why do I need to see their wonders first?), and it’s hard to tell what the cards are (small text, small image graphic, fuzzy). Also everything is so dark and small, in general. I don’t know who spent this much time redesigning this app, but they made very poor decisions. ✓ New update is awful!The old version of this game used to be my favorite. The new update is virtually unplayable. The new UI is slow and buggy, and the cards are so small they’re impossible to read. (The size of the cards on the updated game is especially ridiculous, given the amount of unused space on the screen.) The update seems to prioritize fancier (unnecessary) cut screens at the expense of actual game play. What used to be a fast, visually stunning smooth, near-perfect game is now tedious and frustrating. The update looks worse, plays worse, and feels like it was designed by someone that had never played the game before. PLEASE bring back the old version! ✓ What happened???My partner and I love playing the 7 Wonders app. Or, we did, until the latest release. It rendered the app so unintelligible that he has now deleted it from his devices- the names of the cards, the costs, and what they build in the future are all either tiny or not even there. I still play the old version on my phone and iPad, but it will probably update automatically at some point and then I will be out of luck. I am always skeptical of the words “Major Release” - instead of focusing on the minor updates and improvements this app needed, the designers were working on making the interface look more like the “game of thrones” intro. ✓ Math ProblemsAfter falling in love with the tabletop version of this game, buying this was a no-brainer. The app is fun and well done. As they continue to tweak it with updates, I can only imagine it will become a staple on most gamers iPads. My problems (and reason for the 3 stars) are 2 major issues. I’ve noticed when passing cards that the player I pass to will have somehow have accessed a card that I did not pass them. For example, I’ll be sure to tuck the one green science card left in the hand under my board to complete a wonder and the next round, they will somehow play a green (and did not have access to the discard pile). My even bigger issue is it doesn’t seem to be calculating points correctly. I’ll have 9 military shields but will lose the military combat because it only credited me with 6. It will also, frequently, miscount my victory points from guild cards..Version: 1.2.1
✓ Awful interfaceI love the board game, so I bought this version with no hesitation - what a mistake! I’m trying to play on an iPhone 5, and I can barely see anything. The interface is awful: so much of the necessary information for gameplay is either too small to see clearly, or hidden and revealed behind clunky touch and hold gestures. It has poor control and graphics compared to other board game ports, such as Carcassonne. But most of all it lacks local game mode (pass and play). ✓ What the heck?Wow, talk about a product not even remotely ready for release. I play iOS board games all the time and after poking around a bit it is safe to say this is the worst launch I have ever seen. The tutorial consistently freezes for me when it asks me to play the brickyard. The game itself has no way to zoom into my played cards or those of my opponents. I’ve never been through a game that didn’t freeze before it was over. I read some reviews that said I had to log into the network to play offline - bad design. So, I create an account using a UI that provides no feedback upon submission - bad design. Then I log in and it just gets stuck on ‘Loading User Profile, which I honestly can’t tell if its bad design - meaning it’s actually downloading content - or just a bug. ✓ Huge potential but very buggyUPDATE: Still buggy but better, but SUPER ANNOYING forced update. It will not play until you update which is very frustrating because sometimes it’s not convenient to update right at that moment, but you’re prevented from playing. Definitely taking it off my phone. I love the board game and was excited to find the digital version. However I've almost given up on playing with other people. About 1 in 5 games it randomly accuses me of leaving the game, but when I try to reconnect it says there are no seats available. In theory there's a 3 minute penalty for leaving the game (even involuntarily, I guess) but it takes an hour or more for it to let me back in. As others have noted, the Halikasnassos board just stalls if you try to use your first wonder in the second round, refusing to show the discard pile. And like many others I want to be able to play my friends and family, not just strangers. Playing the AI is ok, so I don't consider it a waste of money, but it will be much, much better once the bugs are ironed out..Version: 1.3

✓ Error in scoringI’ve noticed that the purple guild cards do no always calculate correctly. For instance, the rules from the physical game contain a clarification that the Ship Owners guild counts itself as a purple card towards the point total. This happens inconsistently in the app. Other errors I’ve noticed are harder to pin down precisely. In a recent game I played both the Military Guild and the Workers guild. There were five military cards in surrounding cities and seven brown cards, but the end game total only came up as 10. ✓ Bogged down by new UI7 Wonders is a great game, but this adaptation has been hamstrung by a slow and bloated “revised” User Interface. It used to be fast and slick, but now each card played is slowly deposited onto the play space and is accompanied by needlessly slow and flashy effects. I guess they were trying to add some visual “pop”, but all they did was mire a smooth experience with useless baggage. The redesigned cards are nice- but until they give a method to get rid of animations, I’m probably done with this game on mobile. I developed an addiction to this game during the pandemic, and am grateful for all the memories, but after playing the new early 2021 version once, I deleted the app for the same reasons many others have expressed, about the downgraded look and feel and playability. In reading other reviews, it seems the ask of the developers is simple—to just return the game to the previous version so many loved, though I’m sure it’s more complicated than that. Where is it?Just a hint in improving your nice app and why I haven’t played it since I purchased it when it came out———>Most players want to play a private game with their friend online in an ASYNCHRONOUS mode. I know there is a minimum of three players for 7 wonders, but please look at the Le Havre board game app and the way they let you play with a specific friend and add a bot or two, in a glorious asynchronous mode (meaning there is no timed rush to make your next move). That game is almost flawless in app design, ditto with the Puerto Rico, Ticket To Ride, Carcassonne and Istanbul board game apps. ✓ V2.0 is a step back.A week ago I would have rated this game a 4 out of 5. But today it is easily a 2 out of 5. The new digital version released is mirroring the debacle that was Lords of Waterdeep when they changed their entire app and alienated most of their user base. I suspect the same will happen here. I am not a fan of the overall changes to the new version of the physical boardgame that were implemented here. Plus the overall aesthetics is pretty awful. The lobby either isn’t working, or no one is creating games, which makes me suspicious of the reporter “90-110” people I consistently see online. That number rarely wavers. If that many people were truly playing, than new games should be constantly popping up. But instead I stare at the lobby for ten minutes without a peep. A game I used to play several times a week will now be relegated to the nether regions of my iPad, collecting digital dust, soon to be forgotten. I would ask for a way to play the original app, but I know from past experiences that you will not accommodate fans that way. ✓ Needs a lot of workIt has potential, but still very buggy and needs better matchmaking. If I want to play a 4 player game, it means I want to play a 4 player game. After TEN SECONDS of searching, it ignores your request and places you into any size game. Also, if you leave even from the main screen when the game isn’t full (I left because I got put into a 7 player game against my wishes and there was only one other player in it), it counts this as disconnecting. Then, you can’t find a new match for a long time. It says 3 minutes but the counter doesn’t work and you basically can’t play for a long time (I just waited over 10 minutes and it still won’t work). Also, they need to have some time bank for making decisions. Some people take a long time to choose EVERY turn. There needs to be like 60 or 90 seconds total for all turns in an age..Version: 1.1

I just discovered that the interface has been redesigned, presumably to drum up some sales. Unfortunately, what was once perfectly legible on my iPhone SE is now barely discernible. The text is really tiny and all the clean, bright artwork has been swamped by a new, murky aesthetic. Even tap-holding to zoom in on a card or wonder doesn't help. Wasn't this tested on smaller phones ffs? To the devs, at least provide the option of switching back to the old design or this app is going to bomb. I'm gutted :(.Version: 2.0.0

✓ New Interface is an Epic FailThis is an awesome game, and the expansions are worth the purchase. Been playing the board and iOS versions for years. However, the new update is terrible. I literally no longer have any pleasure in playing this game. The UI feels clunky to me. It’s also way too dark. But the biggest issue I have is the aesthetic. The old game was beautiful. It had a historic feel to it that kind of took you back in time, which is entirely appropriate for the game topic. This new version has too many sharp edges visually and is too modern for the game topic, and just uglier in so many respects. Your UI was perfect for your game concept before. ✓ Terrible update ruins great gameQuite honestly, I couldn’t even finish a game after this update. The symbols are barely legible, the cards had all the text removed, losing all the flavor and theme (you can hold down the card to see what it is, but it’s hardly the same and a chore to do for even a single turn, much less one round, forget 3.) The place where you build your card tableau is severely underutilized leaving a lot of dead space, while figuring out your goals is practically impossible without a magnifying glass. The animations are underwhelming and kill the pacing of the game without adding anything. You can’t even turn them off! ✓ Time Limit ruins gameThis game is beautifully rendered, and the mechanics of play are well done. However, without an option to change the time limit for moves makes this unplayable with friends. So much of 7 Wonders is planning/strategically setting up your cards to prevent your neighboring players to completing objectives and looking at what’s the best play for your city. The current game clock makes that virtually impossible. If you’re reading this, just go play It’s a Wonderful World instead of 7 Wonders. It’s all my friends want to play now anyway. I did want to still play 7 Wonders sometimes but after they’ve taken the app away from me, frig them. Looks like 7 Wonders is disappearing from my life. ✓ New version is a real step backThe latest update has completely overhauled the look and feel of this app, and I’m sad to say many of the changes are for the worse. The all-important icons on the cards are now ridiculously small, even on my iPad Pro - I just can’t imagine how the designers thought that was suitable. The 3D intro screen and card animations feel half baked and unnecessary - this is such an elegant game, it doesn’t need visual fluff. ✓ Frustrated with the online aspectI'm a big fan of the 7 wonders games. The app is a good facsimile of the board game but the online function seems seriously flawed. I have a good internet connection but I can sometimes sit for 20 minutes with the 'loading user profile' message flashing. Then without warning and for no obvious reason I get another message 'dishonour to the deserter..you left a game in progress' All very odd...so in summary the player vs AI aspect of the app is good. The online aspect is a 'dogs dinner'. Shame...I would like to rate it higher..Version: 1.0.1
✓ New version is terribleLove this game, loved the old version of the application. The version of the application has completely changed the graphics and now they are flat and dull. They also introduced yellow flashing effect every time you play a card, which is terrible for anyone who gets migraines. Sadly, I can no longer recommend this application..Version: 2.0.4

✓ Good adaptation of a very good board game but profile never loadsThis is a very good adaptation of the game. Yet after creating my profile, it never loads hence preventing me to play online. ✓ Great game! Big miss on latest updateFirst, the game is great! This app does an excellent job of recreating the gameplay. AI is pretty good overall too. (I think other people are wrong about incorrect scores, or that has been fixed.) HOWEVER, the latest update (v2.0.0) is a BIG MISS and significantly worsens the experience: - Gameplay and cards are TOO SMALL. - Cards and resource requirements are too small. I can hardly read them on my iPad Air. Nearly impossible to read the upgrades allowed on cards. Graphics and resources are even kind of pixelated. - CARD NAMES are no longer shown! This is important, because you can only build one of each card. Plus it’s critical to get to know the game and what to call things. Otherwise it’s just pictures. How would I talk about the game if I didn’t know “Caravansary,” “Foundry” etc.? Yes I know you can click-hold to see card name but this is not enough. - Game Play is TOO SLOW. There’s this annoying lag as you drag cards and they are put into the center. Just let us play the game! Previous version is much quicker..Version: 2.0.0

✓ Another cash grab by hobby bgI have a couple thousand boardgames in one form or another, this is one that benefits from the company of people on an actual table, though I am playing on a phone and not a tablet. Interface is rather confused and messy for such a simple game, it took me forever to figure out what a “neighboring” city was. The subleties of point counting are lost, unless you enjoy spelunking through tiny sub menus to see what your six opponents are doing. After winning some and losing some by near random selections of cards to place I started feeling like I really didn’t care how things worked. The satisfaction of the tabletop game is that this thing is stupid easy, but made fun by playing it with people, negotiating and scheming in real time, etc. I have tried almost every “hobby bg” in app form on the phone, some are well implemented, but most experience dropped development and become abandonware, or are riddled with bugs and then ported over to Steam— Well, copy pasted to Steam. This is a practice I wish would end, among others. Buy a copy of Tabletop Simulator. ;).Version: 1.3.2
✓ A 5-Star game now operating as a 1-Star appI have had the 7 Wonders game on my phone for the past 2+ years and have played it on a *daily* basis. The interface was simple and I never ran into any issues with the app. Then at the end of February 2021, the app was updated to coincide with the new release version of the board game, so new cards were added. However, this new update has been a trainwreck. I have encountered issues with the game where certain actions are either not permissible that should be or flat-out lock the game so you have to reset the app. I have emailed the developers twice about this since the release and have seen little in the way of a fix. The lack of transparency and communication to fix these issues is unacceptable, and a previous go-to mobile game is now a disappointing shell of its previous self. I’ll change my rating if these issues get resolved, but until then it’s totally warranted!.Version: 2.0.1

✓ Player count issueThis is a pretty decent digital adaptation of my favorite tabletop game, all things considered. I mean, sure it’s pretty bare bones right now, but they can always layer ranking and stats on top of a solid foundation. One thing that is an absolute travesty though is the way quick match places you in an open table. It asks how many players you want to play with, and then if it can find that in fifteen seconds it just puts you in whatever. If you back out you’re banned from matchmaking for three minutes. No. I do not ever want to play this with more than 3 players ever. It’s a completely different game at larger player counts and a much, much worse one. I will wait ten minutes for a 3 player match before I will play with more. Please, please, please give me this option. As it stands now, the fact that it asks me for a preference at all just adds insult to injury..Version: 1.1
✓ Improvement from last updateThe newest update 2.0.3 is a refinement of the overhaul made to the game recently. The overhaul angered many of us including myself. This update has smoothed gameplay but still retains the elements that has alienated so many. While I prefer the original version, this new update has made the game tolerable, and maybe even makes me want to play again. The biggest issue that stlll is not resolved, is the really small icons and text. There is plenty of real estate available, why not use it to make the game more visually enjoyable and easier to see..Version: 2.0.3
