✓ Needs async network playConnectivity is very bad. Backgrounding the app while setting up a game (“synchronising”?!?) causes the game to abort. And the mechanism for playing via network has no words that describe what you’re doing. Really hard to work out. Starts with a tiny icon in the top left, if you’re wondering..Version: 1.1.4
✓ Working implementation of the gameMy friend introduced me to this game on Boardgame arena, so I thought it would be nice to have an ai opponent to practice on. The game runs fine and has not crashed on me. After playing a few games I was looking for a bit more challenge but it seems there is no ai difficulty level. The ai seems stuck on easy which is good for beginners. It makes the game have less replay value to be facing a weak opponent. If I have time to play pvp I would play this on Boardgame arena. Also bga has a nice feature that shows the cost of cards to your opponent which helps with strategy. Bottom line this game works but may not stay in your play rotation for long unless you have a friend that also owns it..Version: 1.1.4
✓ Multiplayer remote simply doesn’t workGreat game in the paper version. However, despite some decent art, the general UI is poor in mobile translation. The reason I am giving it 1 star is that the multiplayer - the reason I bought the game - simply doesn’t work. You can only play while in the game - no popping out for messages - and there’s a range of annoying glitches. The lack of attention to quality is obvious, right down to messages like “opponent has leaved game”.Version: 1.1
✓ Ugly, Buggy, Battery-drainerReally ugly, unaliased graphics, even on the highest graphics setting (in fact, the lower setting actually looks better because it’s more simple); cards look pixelated when inspecting; animations are laggy and waste battery even when in ‘battery saving’ mode; doesn’t look as polished and nice as the original 7 Wonders game app. The “create” button on the create account page wouldn’t do anything on several attempts, eventually working. The account seems to be separate from the account from the original 7 Wonders app for some reason. Every time I’ve played a Quick Match game I’ve been second. That’s 7 times in a row I haven’t been the one to start. The odds of that if it were a fair coin toss are 0.015625! What gives‽ Edit: Now it’s pretty much not working at all. Just played a game and it wouldn’t let me build a certain wonder even though I could, then the turn ran out on my opponent and it was stuck for a minute, then something happened but then I wasn’t able to do anything on my turn. This is a shamefully buggy game! Edit 2: “Connect failed: host unavailable” WTF‽ I WANT MY MONEY BACK..Version: 1.1
✓ It would be a great game but......it crashes ALL THE TIME! The graphics and gameplay are a fantastic interpretation of the board game and would be five stars but for the above and you can’t leave the game, for any reason, without forfeiting and stopping the game. You have to only have the app open and complete a game with an opponent in one sitting. Developers: if you could address these two issues, you have a great app. I’m hoping you are going to release an update to fix..Version: 1.1.2
✓ Great game but average app for nowThe apps has numerous flaws: Opponent’s moves are instant = much too fast. No log to counter that. Animation timings are all wrong (opening screen takes ages when some important info is instant). Only one (relatively weak) AI. Online play is not good: - disconnections badly handled, close the app then reopen later a game starts when I did not want it, also seen other glitches (like string over string or saying I was connected on another machine when it kicked me out in a crash) - a timer is in place but is not visible. Forces you to play the simplest move if not fast enough. Are we not allowed to think a bit??? Much too fast timing. - why the need to create a new account when I already had one for 7 Wonders app? - not many opponents which is disappointing for such a good IP. ✓ FlatDecent job porting the game, but doesn't offer anything else for solo play. The lack of different AIs and campaigns wasn't as detrimental in the original, but it's very noticeable here..Version: 1.1

✓ Great game, mediocre app/online experienceI love this game and it is so much fun to play. However, the online experience could be greatly improved. First off, the connectivity/server is poor, which has resulted in me not being able to log on at times or getting dropped from games that count as losses to my record/ELO. Next, there is a bug where I don’t get credit for beating a guest player. The app team told me they’d look into it and I haven’t gotten a response in weeks. Third, there is no ladder/rankings to see how you are compared to other players and their is no chat function, so even when playing with friends you can’t communicate. Great game, but hope for improvement in the online experience….Version: 1.1.4
✓ Great but misleadingSo I am a huge fan of the “board game” and the app adaptation. One thing that is misleading is the “online” play. While you can do a quick match with a stranger I haven’t figured out how to face my friend unless we are on the same wifi network…so very misleading and I hope I’m wrong. Also what’s missing…. The expansions! I haven’t played those but it would be cool to have the option. Perhaps also an AI difficulty slider…at times it would be nice to up the challenge to simulate an experienced opponent. The three stars is JUST because the “online” friend play isn’t exactly that..Version: 1.1.4
✓ Well designed app and fun game with minor flawsUpdate: revised my review from 4 stars to 2 stars The latest update has made this game a buggy mess. Now the game makes moves for me randomly in some games, the countdown clock was only 5 seconds for me in one game, the beginning tiles sometimes load slowly or don’t load at all. I wasn’t able to select my first card and had to skip my turn a few times. These random bugs ruin this app and unfortunately it doesn’t look like they update it too regularly. Previous: This game has got me hooked, it’s a great two-player head to head game which seems like two-player solitaire at first but ends up with a bit more strategy than you think. I really really wish there was a way to deal with AFK players. As of now, the only thing to do is wait for the clock to run out but it is the most forgiving clock in game history, and each time you take your turn you have to wait a minute for the AFK player’s turn clock to slowly dwindle. This needs to be fixed. Also, there needs to be asynchronous match making, as much as I like this game I can’t wait 5 minutes for a match and then play for 10-15 min straight. I’m only on my phone if I have a min or two to burn..Version: 1.1.4

✓ Love this game, but remote play doesn't work!We've played on separate phones on the same WiFi and the game is great! But when we've tried to play long distance (which is really what we need it for; we have the paper game for in person), the game keeps crashing towards the end of the first round, saying that someone has left the game -- and it immediately declares victory/forfeit, even if both of us are still actively playing. This has happened all three times we tried to play this way, so I don't know if we'll try it remotely again 🙁.Version: 1.1.2

✓ UnderwhelmingThe big problem is that you have to finish a game or it completely forgets the game state and you have to start over. How is that acceptable? ✓ Needs an Expansion/update/upgradeAlthough this game outshines the original (7 W), the mobile app still has bugs, such as the game aborting when you could be on the verge of winning. However, the major downsides to the game are as follows: -you cannot interact with your opponent (like you can in 7 W) - you cannot get an expansion (very sad) -the game is quite repetitive. I mean, it’s always obvious which Wonders people will choose at the start, and they’re just... the same old wonders.. - and a very sad downside; since there are only 2 card layouts, it becomes repetitive. They should include at least another 4 different card setups This could be one of the best games ever!!! Because you can win by whichever method- science, victory, or military. ✓ AI is brokenI own the physical board game. I have probably played it 100 times with multiple other people and have quite a bit of experience with the game. And yet after downloading the game and playing the AI I lost my first 7 games and won the 8th game by only 2 points. It makes me regret buying the game when the AI is clearly unbalanced. I don’t mind there being an option for varying levels of AI, but if you are Hopi got play against the AI, be prepared for the computer to have a knack for getting just the right card to flip up..Version: 1.1.4
✓ Scoring glitch needs to be fixedThis is a great digital adaptation of the board game that we love, which I would like to give 5 stars to, BUT... There is a glitch in the scoring calculation when playing pass and play or face to face and using the “Economy” Progress token. The first time that I noticed this, I had the Progress token and my son was getting paid instead of me when he would have had to pay for cards. He ended the game with more than 50 coins! I don’t understand what that numbering is, but 1.1.4 was released so I just assumed that meant it was included since 2 years ago they said it was coming. It wasn’t. And after 2 years, I think it’s safe to assume it’s never coming. If you even briefly switch out of the app you then forfeit and your spouse wins… super frustrating, but I guess I’m just out $5. If I try to sell a card, the coin symbol gets stuck over the money bag and the whole game locks up. Hard to climb ELO when over half my losses are unintentional forfeits.
