Kia eServices for Negative User Reviews

Useless.I have found no viable use for this app. I have a 2014 Optima Hybrid and my car tells me everything as is. So an actual purpose of this app is not there. You can’t unlock or lock your doors, let alone anything else that could be useful. Apple maps does great telling me where I parked, the car tells me everything I need on travel and so on. In all this app is just a waste of space. Disappointing..Version: 3.3.8

It can’t connectIt says the trasmite signal has fail or something along the line, I’ve try plug-in different usb cable and it still saying that, please fix this issue, I thought that with an update it would have fix the issue but it hasn’t, I took it to the dealership and I’m still having the same problem and they said it’s app related.Version: 3.7

HorribleI have a 2020 Stinger GT2. This app is total garbage. It does absolutely nothing. When you click on the button to ‘Register’ it does absolutely nothing. When you call the number that Kia gives in several of these reviews, it takes you nowhere, cannot speak to a live person. So now I have to take my own personal time to go up to the dealer to get the app operating correctly. Horrible job by Kia/Hyundai Motors!.Version: 3.5.0

No start with appI have a 2018 Stinger and for some reason I thought the UVO app would provide the option to start, unlock/lock, climate change and etc. it doesn’t and I was told I would have to pay 600 bucks to install the start option with a transmitter. I bought this car a month ago for this reason alone just so no one not even the Kia dealer I bought it from to tell me this wasn’t an option for an 18 model year car. On a newer car remote start and app services should be on a high end car as the Stinger GT. It would be nice for a update to be released for this issue. Now I’m stuck with a car that I was sold a lie on..Version: 3.6.0

Cool but not really 😔I am a technology expert and love what I do. When I saw this car I was extremely excited. I purchased the Telluride EX version and I love the car however I’m disappointed with the application. When I was sold the car, one of the employees mentioned that I could remote start my car from the application. After purchasing the car, setting up the account, talking to the technology expert at Kia, I find out there is no feature like this available.A bit deceiving on the sales persons part If a car has remote start and boasts all of this technology, how could it not be controlled from the application? Is there a beta program I can join or is it on the works? I would gladly send Ui feedback if it’s something KIA is working on. The car is being delivered and I am picking it up tomorrow but now I’m having my doubts. I love this car but as a tech that was promised one thing and given another, it’s understandable someone would have doubts dropping $45,000 with all the features and warranty, accessories, etc. I still have to option to cancel the entire purchase but we’ll see if I get a response from the engineers or Marketing team that hopefully monitors these reviews and of course I’ll see the car after deliver at the pickup. Thank you KIA..Version: 3.4.3

Needs improvements and needs to tell accurate information on car diagnosticsThis app can have a better look if they optimized the app for the iPhone XS Max screen size. The app can be improved by updating it with better performance. When running vehicle diagnostics the app does not recognizes problems. A month a go I got into an accident and the app vehicle diagnostics did not detected any problems when my dashboard tells the issues the car has..Version: 3.5.0

DisappointingUVO is pointless. With Apple CarPlay, there’s no reason to purchase a Kia with the upgraded nav/media system. Kia has added ZERO apps to the UVO system’s App Store in the 5 years I’ve owned my Sorento. And dealerships demand $250 to update the nav software when Google and Apple Maps do a much better and more consistently up to date job. On my phone, Waze shows real-time traffic and alerts without need of having a Sirius XM subscription unlike Kia’s nav system. So what do we need UVO and Kia’s nav system for? It doesn’t even do a decent job of performing car analytics..Version: 3.6.2

Completely uselessApp is useless for the user. I’m sure you can call or go online to schedule maintenance services. Can’t unlock the car, can’t remote start but if you can remember to have your phone plugged in when you shut the car off, but only then, it will let you know where you parked when you have a case of mall-tizmers. This thing is more for the dealer to keep track of you..Version: 3.4.3

Incorrect InstructionsI need to change my perfected dealer but all instructions I have found say login click maintenance where one would see there perfected dealer then select Change. But maintenance is not on the home page and when I am in maintenance and see my perfected dealer nowhere is there an option for Change..Version: 3.3.8

Same question regarding remote startI had the same question regarding the functionality of the app with remote start, vehicle location, etc. like is available with the Kia K900 vehicles. I own a Hyundai Veloster, and we just bought a new 2018 Kia Niro. The Bluelink app for Hyundai has many more features than the UVO app. I would like more information on this as well..Version: 3.3.8

Not really usefulI have a Optima EX and I was really excited when I purchased it thinking that since I had push button start that I would be able to remotely start my car but NO. I had a vehicle that I purchased in 2008 and it had it on the key fob, app usage wasn’t I think back then. I don’t get why the other apps from KIA allow you to and other car manufacturers with older vehicles but not this app. I think they really dropped the ball with this..Version: 3.6.0

Doesn’t do anything “bugged”So I downloaded the app twice. It only gets me to the instructions for syncing. Even after I activated UVO throughout the vehicle. So every time I open this app and login it goes straight to the instructions. I reloaded and still the same so basically it’s bugged. I’m using and IPhone 8 and not sure if that’s the issue. I’ve seen other reviews with the same issue so hopefully it gets fixed..Version: 3.4.3

Kia UVO App is uselessMaintenance history is submitted manually by yourself, any service completed (before) your current date can not be inputted, only current or upcoming service can be documented. I’ve had 5 oil changes/Service and could NOT input the date and service provided, only option was to add to the useless note section. Recalls, any past recalls do not appear. I had 3 recalls upon my initial service, after downloading the App and verification of my vehicle, no history of recalls!, these recalls should have been preloaded into my car history as right now my vehicle shows NO RECALLs.Version: 3.4.3

UVO issuesThe Help screen is weak and the drop downs have very generic information, there’s no feedback or contact button on the app to get assistance. I had a Kia a couple years ago and now I have a new one. The app doesn’t have a function to delete an old car or add the new one..Version: 3.3.8

TERRIBLY LOW BUDGETEver since the last update my app REFUSES to connect to my optima ! I have even updated my navigation system and it still won’t get past the screen where it says that I need to connect my phone to the car to “activate uvo services” Customer service phone number is a joke, they have absolutely no idea why it isn’t working anymore and won’t offer me an answer . Such a waste of time I have been stuck for weeks trying to figure out how to get this app to work again . 😩😩.Version: 3.6.2

DisappointedThis app is such a disappointment! I have a 2018 Kia Sorento & this morning when I started my car it said engine problem so I plugged up my phone to open my app & it won’t download ANYTHING not the problem or even my mileage! Says nothing can be downloaded & I know it’s not my cord. I even tried deleting the app & reinstalling it & nothing!.Version: 3.7.1

No updatesI know about the Hyundai BlueLink features and thought I would have something similar when I bought my Kia Stinger. Unfortunately, this was not the case. No remote start through the app, no climate control. The app is not optimized for the iPhone X and is a pretty terrible experience. Luckily I love the car, but will likely delete the app because I find it fairly useless..Version: 3.3.8

Not UsefullGot this app setup today for my 2021 Kia Forte. For some reason it doesn’t get the odometer mileage correct. The app is off like 400 miles from what the car shows. The layout looks odd like it’s not supposed to be IOS supported. The dealer appt tab either doesn’t work, or they just neglect to contact me. I have the Kia Access app as well, and it doesn’t sync with this app. Not sure what I’m supposed to do with it at this point..Version: 3.6.2

Remote Start? The functions of the app right now are fine. The POI information, Vehicle Info, etc. are all fine. However, what I can’t understand (and maybe I can get a developer response on this) is why there is no remote for vehicles equipped with remote start? The Hyundai vehicles equipped with remote start have it through the BlueLink app, Genesis vehicles have it through the Genesis app, and the Kia K900 has it through the UVO luxe app. The tech is there, why not implement it? I would really love to be able to start my car with my phone, view the status of the locks and such (like on the BlueLink app) and so forth. Or maybe have a different app for the Kia remote start since it’s a dealer accessory? Would love an answer on this..Version: 3.3.8

Confused! - No Stinger U.S. Remote StartI am confused and extremely saddened that my $50k Stinger has no remote start via the UVO app here in the U.S. Since it does so in Canada, I know the car is capable, so what’s up with the software? The car is also capable of activating the seat warmer and A/C remotely, but still no UVO software to make it so. Why not allow use of the UVO Lux app with the Stinger? Because of this, I rate this app 3 out of 5 stars. Maybe it’s more like 2 out of 5..Version: 3.3.8

Why not CarPlay compatible? The app is OK for what it does. The most annoying thing for me is that it must be plugged in via USB and does not work via Bluetooth. Since it has to be plugged in, AND launched on the iPhone screen for it to work, this is a pain if you forget and you certainly don’t want to access your phone screen while driving, it would be handy if it was compatible with Apple CarPlay so you can launch it from the vehicle screen instead..Version: 3.3.8

Embarrassing for the brandConsidering how far Kia has come, this app is extremely embarrassing for the brand. A 2014 Optima SXL owner and I can honestly say that this app is useless, the app serves no purpose as it has no features that are “cool”. Vehicle Info - you can just write down what services you do, it’s much quicker than having to sync every time. Roadside Assistance - can just google the number. Dealer Appointment - again can google your closest dealer in 10 seconds. Parking Minder - sync doesn’t automatically track where the car is every time unless you plug it in. Useless, Apple maps detects automatically without even opening the app. My POI’s - yet again, not needed and is clunky to use it’s not convenient. The app looks extremely outdated and functions as if it’s outdated, I’m sure there are software updates that Kia could do to the cars system and the app to create more features. Just seems like they abandoned this generation of users..Version: 3.4.3

Great concept, horrible in realityI recently purchased a Kia telluride and was informed about this app for remote starting my car. However, I’ve only been able to successfully remote start my car with this maybe twice in the last 2 months because it simply never works. The concept would be amazing if it worked, but it doesn’t. Definitely won’t be wasting my money once the free trial is over unless this app does a 360..Version: 3.5.1

Close to awfulIf I could get this app no stars I would the only thing it does is record my mileage it doesn’t record my two past Services it shows them incomplete and I just did my 15,000 miles at 14,098 miles and it shows that I need another service in 914 miles I want the app to know what I’ve done so I don’t have to remember what I’ve done and it doesn’t do that and I deleted it reloaded it like the dealership said to I synced it while it was on I even called the helpline which is roadside assistance and they gave me a number to help me with the app and it was the same number I called which took me back to roadside assistance.Version: 3.3.8

I can’t register through the application…I downloaded the application on my iPhone XR and when I attempted to click the register button it does nothing. It just shows the animation of the button depressing and doesn’t take you to another page thus I’m not able to register to utilize application on my phone. Based on reading all the other review messages I restarted my phone and I didn’t fix the issue. I do not want to go to the website to register I should be able to do so through the application. Please fix..Version: 3.5.0

Pretty uselessThis has so much potential but Kia dropped the ball. UVO really offers me no real value. It’s good for gaining more service appts for the dealer. That’s really it. My 2015 Optima Hybrid is offered no real extra options for the hybrid system. No updates with further options, etc. my Honda has much more and offers updated apps such as actual applications for travel, entertainment and useful tips. I can play my Sirius app, find Gas, places to eat, hotels..Version: 3.3.8

No longer connects to 2018 Kia SoulA couple of years ago the app wouldn’t connect after a navigation update. I worked with Kia support they finally told me to go to a dealership. The dealership told me to call support. I just tried to delete my car (again) from the Owners Portal but “System could not process your request. Please try again later.” I’ll try again in a few years..Version: 3.7.5

DisappointedSadly, the app won’t even allow me to register. The dealership was very excited to tell us about how convenient the app was. I tried setting it up there, it didn’t work. I’ve deleted and reinstalled it several times hoping doing so would reset everything and allow registration. It has not. It’s been five days. It’s discouraging to say the least..Version: 3.5.0

Misrepresented supportWhen I bought my 2019 Stinger GT2 it was stated that door unlock, remote start, etc. would be available via the application for my iPhone XsMax. As it turns out, the app does not seem to do anything useful and even though I have granted full USB access even when locked, no information transfers to the UVO app when connected via the USB port. While I love the car; highly disappointed with the iPhone app..Version: 3.5.1

App needs to be updated. Things aren’t workingJust purchased a new 2021 Kia Forte gt line, when I go in the app it doesn’t save the location like it states on the Forte lcd screen. Also can’t set alerts under car zone, it doesn’t provide map searches correctly. I entered an address, address shows up and then click on said address and it goes to unable to locate. Also screen size is not correct on iPhone 11. Am I just doing something wrong or what?.Version: 3.6.0

Could be betterIt could be better if you were able to add services such as oil changes under the maintenance category in the app for when you go to places that aren’t the dealer (Valvoline, Jiffy lube, pep boys, etc) This way you can keep an accurate recording of your vehicles health..Version: 3.5.1

Kia eServicesNearly useless. Went to a bit of trouble to have “Engine Control System” alert download to have the message to call my dealer. The dealer asked what the problem is and I had to respond Engine Control System which they said would be $50 for a diagnostic. Had to use my old iPhone to download app so I could connect with USB as new iPhone uses USB C and can’t connect to 2018 car but could if Bluetooth would connect. Phone has no problem with Bluetooth phone calls but why would app designers not utilize this technology..Version: 3.7

2018 Kia Soul 1 Million EditionI have read the previous reviews and agree. I have remote start, auto climate and plenty of tech gizmos. Love the car, the 2.0 can hold its own against a lot of the “fart can” racers and a few tuners. But i woul absolutely love an update that incorporates the functions of the start and the electronics like the bluelink does. Also the ability to sync UVO via bluetooth instead of having to ise connect all the time..Version: 3.3.8

Was able to sign in all of one timeCan’t log in anymore. My password is correct it just doesn’t go anywhere after login it stays on the log in page. If I put an incorrect password it will tell me it’s incorrect but won’t do anything at all if I put the correct password in. Already reinstalled 5 times.Version: 3.6.0

App stopped workingI have a 2016 Kia Optima. I have used the app for a year no problem and suddenly it reset and asks me to set the app up. I log in and can do nothing beyond that. Despite following directions the app will not connect to the car and won’t move past the setup instructions screen. Not worth trying to figure out..Version: 3.6.0

UVO App is Hyped IMHOI have a 2014 Optima EX that came with a UVO capability. The salesman hyped its future functionality. After using it for a couple of years I figured that new features would be added, but the dealer said NO upgrades were available. The original features were relatively unsophisticated, redundant and therefore usless to me. But I expected to have future upgrades from Kia. Nada. Fast forward to ~ 5 years post-sale and it didn’t even want to do a basic sync anymore. Very frustrating. It always had a super slow syncing process. 😧 Without any software upgrades and without any dealer software support I finally just removed the UVO App from my iPhone. It seemed to have potential in 2014, but apparently Kia never intended to enhance it ... unless of course you want to buy a new 2021 Kia vehicle and start over. I suspect that software technology is just not who traditional car manufacturers are today and, indeed, cars will be designed & built by technology companies in the future who will just outsource the car building as hardware; or buy robots to build it in-house. 👍🏼.Version: 3.6.0

AnnoyingI bought my brand new KIA Sedona back in 2018 and was told at the dealer ship to down load this APP. Downloaded this APP and it absolutely serves NO purpose for me at all!!!! I can’t set up POIs, basically can’t use anything in the APP & I’ve been going to the dealer ship to get all maintenance work done needed for the van and it’s doesn’t even update or even say service completed! It says service incomplete. Put up with this APP for 3 years now…. I’m so over it!!! Fix this APP and make it functional for us customers to actually use..Version: 3.6.0

Serves no purposeWe have 2 other vehicles that have apps associated with them where you can remote start, lock, etc; this app does none of that. This is something that should be a no brained. Hopefully this gets updated soon!! Had I known this before buying our vehicle it would have been a deal breaker especially when we were told we could do all this with the current app..Version: 3.4.3

Need help !So I have a UVO account registered and I even activated thought the car and when I tried to use this app it gave me instructions to finish the setup but when I got to the step, the step says to go to something that isn’t showing on my cars monitor which is kind of odd because I’ve been stuck on this page for the longest time. It tells me either to Bluetooth it or connect it via usb. So I do and attempt to get the last step but I can’t move forward. Help would be greatly appreciated! (I know this should be emailed but I want people to know if this ever happened to them).Version: 3.3.8

Wow... this app is horribleI don’t even know where to begin... how disappointing. Can’t change the preferred dealer. Not sure what caused Regal Kia to be my “preferred dealer”, but I do not go there. I can find my dealer and send an appointment request, but can’t make the dealership I go to my actual preferred dealer. Can’t change my vehicle name. There’s an option for it, but nothing I do allows me to change it. The “change” button is always shaded out. (Ultimately, a minor issue). Horrible design/user interface. Maybe I had higher expectations. Not sure I’ll move forward with this service and if they think I’ll ever pay a subscription fee for UVO services, please go climb Mt. Everest and ponder the wonders of the universe. If this is the best representation for UVO services, then they should reevaluate what they consider to be a quality added service, because this is not it. Just unbelievably disappointed....Version: 3.6.0

Doesn’t workThis app only synced with my 2016 Sorento on the day Of purchase. Then never did again. It’s been 5 years. This week I tried to log on as I am having an issue and wanted to see if I could see an warning or message pop up and it says the service is unavailable. Tried again this evening as my car is now not drivable (thinking it’s a bad thermostat) and I’m still unable to log on. I’ll just call the dealership tomorrow. 🤦🏻‍♀️.Version: 3.6.0

LOVE my 2018 Soul, but......this app has been a big disappointment. I had assumed the app would track my maintenance, alert me to schedule routine maintenance, keep a record of vehicle maintenance and performance - maybe even give me a layman’s view of system diagnostics. Nope. It’s so stupid, it doesn’t even know the service schedule I paid for, nor is it aware of the routine service that’s been done. Given the excellence of the car in every other regard, INCLUDING electronics, I’m really surprised at how lame this is - I mean who would believe that in this day and age I’d still be depending on a window sticker to tell me when my next oil change is due? C’mon guys. In a world dripping with geek drool, this is embarrassing..Version: 3.5.0
