DisappointedWhen it works the puzzles are really enjoyable, however, it sometimes takes far too long to load, not just the main app, then you have a long wait to get into the game chosen, that’s if it opens at all! Yesterday it chose to ask for my login details and in spite of putting the correct login, works in the main news app, it tells me that I don’t have an account. Deleted the app three times and still not able to access it. A bit more development needed I think!! Well I can access the app now, when it decides to let me in. The loading time on an iPad is terrible with the constant spinning of ‘the wheel’. Don’t even try to play now as it just runs the battery down..Version: 1.4.4

Too unstableGood app - but only when it works… it is often very unstable. Following latest udate at end Feb ‘24, cannot get Kakuro to work at all. Regularly terminates by itself halfway through a puzzle & loses data / sometimes doesn’t behave at all when reloaded. Generally feels like it hasn’t been properly tested. Have done the usual troubleshooting (reinstall etc), but still no joy..Version: 1.5.4

Great Puzzles, Terrible AppThe puzzle quality is incredible, the app is horrendously made. It’s difficult to navigate, it spends far too long buffering or loading. Sometimes when trying to access puzzles it will just give up and say you don’t have internet. On a phone it is also very slow to respond to inputs. Such a shame.Version: 1.3.0

Spot GlitchyWhilst the puzzles are great, as you’d expect from the Telegraph, the app itself glitches quite often. I will open a crossword without problem and then when I try to go back to it it won’t open, it just has a rotating wheel. I usually do puzzles on my iPhone. The numbers within the crosswords are too small to read too..Version: 1.4.4

It just doesn’t work!So disappointed! I paid £10 despite having a Telegraph subscription, and yet the app just doesn’t work. The circle just goes round and round….On top of which, when I occasionally manage to get a Panagram, there is no way to see the list of possible words in contrast to the ones I found. UnresponsiveI have been using for a few weeks and performance appears to be getting worse. I am having to delete and reload the app at least twice a day. I cannot easily dip in and out of the puzzle. Since I have had to pay a fee to have access to the puzzle I feel cheated that the performance is so unreliable. Please sort it out..Version: 1.2.4

Good puzzles but continuing teething problemsA great range of puzzles, but there are continuing problems with the recording of personal achievements. Sadly these appear to have got worse of late as the app has stopped recording sequences across the entire range of puzzles. Initially this had only been a problem with some..Version: 1.2.4

Brilliant content, abysmal appThe content itself (when it loads) is fantastic, and I would spend a lot more time on this app if it actually loaded (I barely ever use the desktop version as it’s fiddly to use on iPhone and iPad). But most of the time, I’m stuck with the wheel of death for minutes at a time, so the time in the day when I’m able to do puzzles is taken up by waiting for them to load. The developers should have made sure the app was actually usable before releasing it. As an aside — there really should be a function to download puzzles for offline use; would be really useful for the morning commute..Version: 1.4.4

Flaky App Sort it OutThe app is terrible - or has become so in recent weeks. It freezes constantly and rather than enjoying completing puzzles I am stuck looking at a screen with a wheel spinning. Or else my completed puzzle steaks are wiped out because it doesn’t register that I have completed them. Very frustrating. Maybe the popularity of your advertising campaign has generated too much traffic for it cope with. I have had a lame response from tech support. Instead of putting resource into developing new puzzles, you might want to make sure the app can cope with them first. Soldiering on but not impressed. Have had to delete and reinstall the app twice already.Version: 1.2.4

Fun games but SLOW LOADINGLove the puzzles but the time it takes just to select/load anything on this app makes me give up. The NYT app is significantly faster and a better use of your time..Version: 1.2.4

Blank screen when open appEvery few days when I open the app, there’s just a blank screen. Sometimes I can re-open it via the App Store but sometimes I have to delete the app and start again. FrustratedPuzzles are great IF you can load them. Every time I go to use have to delete and reload app 2-3 times before it loads. Developers seem unable to resolve. Once ‘wheel’ is spinning you can’t even get back to the menu only option is to delete yet again.Version: 1.4.6

Too slowThis is a great idea but have to agree that it is really slow. Endless buffering. The only answer appears to be to delete the app and reinstall it. This is the second time I’ve resorted to that this week. Hope this bug fix has sorted it..Version: 1.3.0

Puzzles are fine, app needs workI enjoy the puzzles, but there are a lot of bugs in the app and it’s not very user friendly. every time i complete a puzzle, i get stuck on what i’m assuming is supposed to be a completion page, but it never loads, just keeps spinning and spinning. when doing the plusword/crossword/etc, even when the option to “skip filled in squares” is turned on, it won’t skip any first/last letters of the word, which kinda defeats the purpose. it also doesn’t skip over already completed words/clues, even when “hide completed” is turned on. the puzzles are fun, but the app isn’t very functional.Version: 1.2.4

Could be a lot betterShould be better given it’s a subscription service. Where is an anagram display function like other newspaper crosswords have (which are not paid for)? Without this we’re forced to get the old pen and paper out. Isn’t this meant to be a replacement for that?.Version: 1.0

MalfunctioningWhen I initially subscribed to Telegraph Puzzles, the App worked fine except I was unable to access older puzzles, always getting a message indicating I was offline, which wasn’t the case. I was okay with that; however, 2 months ago (10/23), the App suddenly stopped working, giving me endless “Oops something went wrong”messages on both the iPhone and iPad version. I contacted customer service and the tech did a soft reset for me, but it didn’t work. Now, 12/23, the iPad app still doesn’t work, giving the same error messages. The iPhone version works partially. I still can’t access older puzzles and the Appdoes not update the puzzles daily. I randomly get a new puzzle and often get puzzles I’ve already completed days earlier. Please fix this so I can use my subscription!.Version: 1.4.10

So frustratingThis app would be great if it worked. Instead it just hangs constantly, sometimes for hours and won’t load. I’ve deleted and reinstalled it 3 times when it stopped updating completely. Very fed upI overcame the problem of not being able to get current puzzle by lagging out of yesterday’s puzzles and logging on again. Pain - but it worked. Now all I get is ‘there is a problem, try again “ I have been retrying for over 15 minutes and still nothing. The page is totally blank so no opportunity to log out and in. Disappointing supportThe content is great but the app doesn’t update automatically so I have to uninstall and reinstall it every day. When I emailed my problem to the address given I was told that it was a glitch and basically I’d just have to live with it. That was several weeks ago and nothing’s improved. Currently unplayableAny attempt to do anything on the very first page, log in / start free trial, im met with "internal error please try again later" for any action attempted after trying again later and being met with the same error ive given up..Version: 1.0

Won’t automatically refresh each dayI’ve just installed the app on my new iPad and it won’t refresh each day, as it did on my previous iPad. To get it to do that, I either have to log out and in again, or force it to close and open it again, or deleted the app and get it again from the AppStore. Obviously I don’t want to have to do that every day. I like all the puzzles, and the smooth way it operates otherwise..Version: 1.4.10

Two things for me1)Full keyboard doesn’t appear when iPad in landscape. 2)Just a little bit more care in which clue is opened when you select a square in the crossword, eg opening the across clue when you select a square in the middle of the across word, a square which is the first letter of a down clue. Great puzzles, very poor appThe app worked well when first launched but since the latest version with Pangrams it no longer recognises my streaks, regularly takes a long time to load and I have literally never got the Pangram to send as completed. I press the complete flag and I just get spinning wheels. Very poor tech which is letting down some excellent puzzles.Version: 1.2.4

Great puzzles, but the app is too slow.I thoroughly enjoy the puzzles, but not the amount of time waiting for them to download, I thought that I was over waiting for spinning circles. I have super fast broadband, and the latest iOS but still end up waiting until I run out of patience! Also despite completing puzzles they then come up as unfinished, despite on reopening they are complete…..Version: 1.2.4

No responceThis app is terrible. Every day having to re download it only to find the spinning wheel in operation with no option to return to the home page. This has been the same for months on my iPad Pro which is up to date on software. Despite the operators saying they will fix it, this has not been the case! Terrible!.Version: 1.4.6

FrustratingFor solving puzzles, the app works reasonably well (assuming you have a puzzle subscription, of course) and I haven’t had any serious problems. Well, aside from one completed puzzle that is stuck, refuses to end, and cannot be reset or edited. The timer just keeps climbing. The big problem is navigation. Going back from a puzzle dumps you at the main menu, any choices you have selected (puzzle type, date) instantly forgotten. I only want to solve the cryptic crosswords but the app doesn’t learn preferences and has no way to customise what it serves up first. Allowing users to select the puzzle types they want to see would be a massive improvement. Easier access to the archive (remembering where you were last time you picked an old puzzle, for example) would also help..Version: 1.4.10

Great puzzles - frustrating appI have downloaded the app onto my Apple devices and when it’s working, everything is fine. BUT - it doesn’t work two days in a row. Sometimes it doesn’t update with the new day’s puzzles, and sometimes the screen just remains blank with nothing at all to view. So, in order to access each day’s new puzzles, I have to UNINSTALL and then REINSTALL the app EVERY DAY, or every time I want to get new puzzles. Such a shame - normally, I associate The Telegraph with good quality - and the puzzles themselves *are* good quality - the app lets them down..Version: 1.4.9

FlakyDaily streaks do not work at all on the app. Completed puzzles always show the pink tick not the yellow star whether or not they’re completed the day they were published. Panagram rankings are not incremented and achieving “Word Perfect” does not award the “Earn Word Perfect” achievement. Several completed puzzles are stuck under “Continue Playing” with no way to remove or complete them short of resetting them and filling them in again. Pretty poor considering they charge a subscription to play these puzzles..Version: 1.2.4

Awful loading timesSuper puzzles - but the loading times are appallingly slow, or sometimes just unusable. Even on 5G or 300mbps Wi-Fi, my first puzzle is to work out why I’m stuck watching a spinning loading wheel instead of doing the crossword….Version: 1.2.4

Numbers in crossword grid extremely difficult to make outThe most difficult aspect of the crossword puzzles is to make out the numbers in the grid. They are too small and lack contrast. Determining what the numbers are in the quick crossword is perhaps the largest contributor to timed events..Version: 1.0

So frustratingSo you’ve added colour to the App. But still the problem that if you leave the app and come back the screen goes blank until reloaded but only hours later. This is so very frustrating for an app that is paid for , and not cheap..Version: 1.4.10

So slow…UPDATE - It did improve and I had a quick response from support. However it has lapsed into the spinning wheels of death again. Usually if I ask for a specific puzzle but sometimes it doesn’t open at all. I log out when this happens. Often even deleting and reinstalling twice a day. Some days I just can’t be bothered to try and finish puzzles. Is it so really data/speed hungry? Or just overworked? Or what? Whilst I’m loving the puzzles I’m in despair at the slowness of loading. Sometimes completely stopping. And it doesn’t always save my answers if I leave it for a while. No, I don’t have the speediest internet connection and sometimes might even rely on data (not 5G). But if these clever app designer people can’t make something work for those of us in less connected areas they should say so. I’ve paid quite a lot for something that I more and more frequently don’t seem able to return to later in the day..Version: 1.3.0

Cannot finish KakuroA good app but recently I was completing a Kakuro puzzle I hadn’t finished. The puzzle was waiting in my uncompleted puzzle section but it closes by itself after 4 seconds! Support told me to delete cookies which I did as well as reload the app. The problem still exists. Very frustrating..Version: 1.5.4

Constantly hangs after finishing a puzzleHaving completed or ending, for example Panagram, you can’t go back and view the game for the results, just get a twirling icon. Sometimes the app is just a white screen which needs to be shut down. Needs work to make it useable..Version: 1.2.4
