✓ Fun game but the Pro tour is uselessI actually really enjoy this game, the daily golf courses are fun to try and master. The only issue I find with it is the pro tour aspect, whatever algorithm they use to determine your opponent is wildly unforgiving. I end up losing six or eight games in a row in order to win one, so I do more going backwards than moving forward through the game. I always end up matched with players who were shooting eight or nines on every single stage, which leaves zero margin of error and the end result is that advancing through the Pro Tour is near impossible..Version: 2.1.1

✓ Decent game but misses the markThis game has the potential to be very good, and I would share it with my friends for a daily challenge. My biggest gripe is how easy it is to waste a shot when you’re trying to change direction or look around the course. With only one course per game a chance at a good round is easily wasted. The random error associated with each shot also removes any sort of skill with the game. A few improvements could make this very popular.Version: 1.14

✓ Fun and equally frustrating…5-hole daily round is my favorite and keeps me playing. The recent change from coin reward to gem reward feels like obvious $$ grab and makes me even less excited to play the pro tour. Speaking of pro tour..the lack of consistency in how the ball moves and responds is frustrating. If you win once, it is directly preceded or followed by a defeat and two draws, or some similar combination. Clearly not the human opponent they try to pass off. If we can't earn coins during the daily classic round, and you won't let us win more than once during pro tour… you see we have no incentive to play pro tour right?.Version: 2.2.5
✓ Algorithm needs attentionGreat game but you’re clearly playing against bots in a match (names are random mix of 3 words) and it’s impossible to win when they’re going round a difficult curse with holes in one all the time. ✓ Latest updates are . . . unfortunateThis is largely a pretty fun game. Easy controls, a straightforward mission. The competition aspect in pro tour were cool too. But I love and hate it. With the latest updates, I have some complaints: 1. The logic determining how your ball behaves when you it it makes the game frustrating. You can make a shot and see it fly off into the water, then make an identical shot and it'll bounce in the direction you were intending it to. I've made multiple shots where it bounced in a completely flat area, but for some reason, the logic killed the bounce and instead of traveling forward (it was a full swing), it just stopped in its tracks and bounced vertically a short height and then stopped. I don't understand why, and the inconsistency of the reaction to the shots you take make it a frustrating play. 2. The gems feel like a money grab. Since you can only earn coins in pro tour, and there are no options to buy coins or earn them elsewhere, what happens when you run out of coins? This is not a suggestion to add an option to buy coins! Removing the ability to earn coins in regular play and replacing it with gems that uncouple the daily gameplay from pro tour fractures the game and removes incentives for me to practice or do better. I don't care about cosmetics - I'd rather earn coins when I get better during regular gameplay so I can take it to the pro tour..Version: 2.2.4
✓ Not a game of skill…The game is almost perfect, it’s beautiful and simple, controls are great, and I love the once-a-day aspect of it… keeping my streak keeps me coming back every day, and having feedback on what percentile my score is is nice (although you could just tell us what percentile we got, not just “top 50%”)… The major flaw is that there appears to be a built in amount of “random error” in each shot… sometimes I take a shot and the ball just goes way right or left! It’s unpredictable and can turn an easy hole into a disaster… as a result, getting a good score involves too much luck, and no amount of skill can overcome it… if there were wind or some sort of timing mechanic to allow the player to control the ball’s direction of travel this would be so much better… worried that it’d be too easy if the player could rely on where the ball will go? It won’t be easy, the holes are plenty challenging… personally, I think it’d be perfect if they just removed the random error and left everything as it is… it’s a really good game that I just can’t play any more because it’s too aggravating to line up a shot and have it hit a tree you were aiming well to the left of….Version: 1.14
✓ Fun but buggyIt’s fun to work to get your score low and compete with friends. It’s NOT fun when your ball is rolling to the hole and…bounces away from an invisible wall. Or when you drive the ball and it has a back spin? And just dies? Or, when you line up a drive and it just goes 15 degrees off the course you set… those litttle things make the game frustrating. Overall fun, but it’s SUPER inconsistent Update: There are now magic walls around the hole. Puts will deflect away from the hole like it hits a wall. Extremely disappointing. ✓ WTH!!! I loved this game till they added these gems and reworked the shooting for no reason!!!Literally, why change this game? The saying goes “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. These gems are dumb and a money grab for what felt like a user friendly game for once, like with the discord and a fun pro tour style of play where it felt like we were actually competing with each other for our coins and that’s made it cool. I wasn’t playing for gems I could maybe save enough for to play everyone and a while and then earn coins. At least bring back the coin adds every 8 hours so people can play the freaking pro tour, instead of having to wait 5 days to collect enough gems. ✓ Fantastic little 5 min game!You might think it strange that my title doesn’t reflect the rating I have given it, but there is a reason. Fantastic game with some really ingenious ideas to make the courses tough and you have to think about it! The problem…… Shot accuracy is broken! I understand you want to make it challenging, but when you pick your line and let your shot go and you watch as your ball follows a totally different trajectory….. yeah this quickly frustrates me to the point I want to delete the game! If you just want a five minute coffee break golf game and don’t mind what happens, then this is perfect! If you are like me and seek the holy grail of holes in 1 and scorecards in the single digits, then be warned!.Version: 1.15
✓ Great game ruined by inaccurate shotsThis game has the potential to be one of the best on the App Store. The issue is that the majority of the time the shot made is slightly off where you want to aim the ball. If you’re going to implement variance and a ‘realistic’ feel to the game, this can be done by adding wind that affects your shots like other games. Decreasing shot accuracy just makes it hard to enjoy playing it as your control is limited..Version: 1.11

✓ Almost GoodI want to like this game and in fact there are many things I do like about it. I would easily give this a 5-star rating if it wasn’t for the randomness of the shots. In fact, I don’t even mind that except they have a leaderboard. Why have a leaderboard if we can’t count on the quality of our shots. Essentially, the leaderboard is just a glorified “lucky” board. Trying more does not help you get better in this game. Making it to the top of the leaderboard is about luck on your shots. Same with playing other players. In this game, winning isn’t about skill as the random nature of the shots makes it irrelevant. Makes this game not worth trying or practicing or paying for the unlimited plays. ✓ Gems are trashI honestly used to love playing this game and being able to do the Daily 5 holes to get extra coins once you get Gold on that day. Now, they’ve replaced nearly every coin reward with these stupid gems. The gems aren’t used to play against opponents in the Pro Tour so why add them? If the reward in the Daily Challenge was still coins, I’d love the game but I’ve honestly stopped playing the Daily altogether because there’s no point. ✓ Fun but not worth paid versionI had a good time playing the game but regret buying the premium version. I thought it would be fun to try to improve on my scores and take a few extra tries, but the RNG that send the ball sideways with long shots removes the replay value in my opinion. ✓ Needs some improvements…This game has a ton of potential. Biggest problem I have is that the physics of the game are extremely inconsistent. Think your shot is straight? HA. Joke is on you. Because it will curve while in flight or it’ll magically bounce slightly off to one side or the other. Putting it the only thing consistent with this game. One thing I would like to see a daily scoreboard ranking. As a user, I wanted to see where I stood each day compared to others. Instead, it would only tell you if you scored in the top 50%, 25%, or 10%. Though, in the end, I presume none of this matters. Mostly because the developer will just focus on the positive reviews, since they clearly outweigh the negative reviews. Therefore, those of us that are unhappy with certain features will be ignored. I understand that. Why fix something only a small group of people are complaining about? And, for the record, I played this game daily for a month. ✓ Could be greatThe concept of the game is amazing. A simple 5 hole battle each day. After that it gets dicey. You have to use the same 3 clubs over and over with a massive circle as your possible destination. The circle for the driver is bigger than 2 greens so only god knows where your ball will land. The wedge goes no where and is as accurate as the driver. The putter is the worst. Absolutely no power indicator, and you can’t even see your line through trees so your shooting from a side view, good luck with that. “Trees” are floating green rocks. Hit one and you could literally ricochet to the opposite side of the course. If you fall under one, you have to putt out from under it…. How asinine could this game be? Fix all this and maybe I’ll play the game again..Version: 1.9
✓ Randomness wrecks itWell made little game, but to make it harder, they’ve built in random error into your aims. You aim directly at a hole and sometimes it stays on course, sometimes randomly it doesn’t. Could have been a great little daily skill game but the randomness turns it into an incredibly boring cycle of restarting the round every time a shot decides to randomly take your ball off course. To add a level of skill, replace the randomness with different strength wind that you have to compensate for and I’ll give it 5 stars. But right now, just a super frustrating game..Version: 1.8

✓ Enjoyable but spoilt by shot release accuracyAn enjoyable little game. Always good to see if you can take a shot off your score with a better route around the course or better shot of course. Only bug bear is that I find it hard to release my finger and get the shot to go where I was aiming without the aim shifting on release. ✓ Problematic multiplayer modeThe gameplay, graphics and physics are great, and the daily course is very fun, but the gambling-style model of the multiplayer mode is very frustrating. I've had to delete and redownload the game 5 times now because you only have to lose a handful of games for you to be left with no money left the play. ✓ Fun, but has a serious problemThis game very enjoyable and addicting. But it was one MAJOR issue. The ball randomness. Either make it where the severity of how random the trajectory of ball is based on the skill of a player or just make it known with a little wind mph icon somewhere on the screen. Because if I messing up and it’s something I can control, then fine, it’s on me to figure out how to fix it and then apply. But if you’re just randomly penalizing players for no apparent reason then it just pushes away players who want to actually become skilled at the game. I understand not everyone wants to go try-hard on a game that is meant to be relaxing, but you have a leaderboard. The whole point of a leaderboard is to encourage competition and the improvement of players at your game. And as of right now, there is only a certain limit ampler can reach on how they can get because there is this randomness that they can’t predict or control. ✓ Frustrating to playIt’s a real shame as this is a great game idea with nice graphics and concept but it’s just not that well implemented. I played again today after the update and it’s not improved it as far as I can see. The areas you can play on are small so invariably the ball either doesn’t reach the green or bounces off into water. It always seems to roll a long way and even aiming short has it rolling off the edges into water. Todays course was all islands and that was even worse. ✓ Good but has flaws that can improve itThis is a game with lots of potential and that can be fun to play at times, but the potential isn’t being met yet. I love the idea of daily courses and pretty and aesthetic maps but there are a few issues which really drag the game down in different ways. Firstly the aiming system is based on pure luck. You have a line showing where the ball is going to go and a circle showing the area but on a map with lots of tiny ledges there’s no way to actually aim, I get there needs to be a level of aim uncertainty to make it a game but there’s much better ways this could be done. For example by making the aiming circles smaller and introducing wind to impact your shots. Because right now you aim somewhere and your shot almost always manages to go just far enough away from the line to hit a random tiny ledge or rock to bounce your ball somewhere random and ruin your chances of a good score on that round. Secondly the map design is pretty but flawed. The trees are like trampolines so if you hit them you just get bounced somewhere random, instead a system where hitting a tree means your ball get caught in the tree and falls to the ground underneath would be better. Also the castle map is poorly designed because you can end up spending 3 strokes getting out from under an overhanging ledge which ruins your chances at winning an online game or getting a good score in a daily game. Also the actual castles on the map are silly because you can’t aim precisely enough to actually land your shot on top and you end up stuck next to it and have to use 2 or 3 strokes to be far enough away to actually shoot to the top of it. Both of these are only really an issue due to the aiming system because you try and get out from underneath ledges or aim onto the castle but the aim is too unreliable so you can’t actually aim your shot properly. This means you can end up spending 7 shots getting into the hole on the castle even when you are aiming to land in the middle of the flat part, because your aiming zone is too big so you bounce off a different random object each time and there’s no way to avoid it. Finally the online system progression is too steep. You go from putting in 5k coins a game to putting 20k in. So if you save up your coins playing the 5k games to have the 20k and you lose it, then you have to spend ages playing 1.5k games to have enough to play the 5k games again, then play enough 5k games to get back to the 20k. And even then if you get back luck with the aiming issues you lose the 20k and have to start all over again so it’s almost impossible to progress past the 5k games. Or you can watch a 30 second add to replay the daily courses again to win more coins but it’s a 30 second each for every game, so 30 ads only to lose the 20k game again. And you can only makes more coins off the daily games once unless you can shoot top 1% on every day. Overall this game has buckets of potential but the way it is currently is a shame knowing how good it could be. Hopefully some of these issues will be seen and addressed because more people should be playing this game with how good it could be..Version: 2.1.1

✓ RNG ruins the gameAmazing concept, something I used to look forward to playing every morning. The addition of the head to head mode was fun and exciting. However, the game is completely ruined by the randomness of each shot. The ball will go quite literally anywhere but right where you aim. I have played over 1000 holes, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the game is coded to not only send the ball nowhere near where you want, but also to create a result that is the most absurd result possible. It goes way out of its way to be as annoying as possible. I don’t expect the game to just be a walk in the park, what fun is that? But - opening the game to a ridiculous course layout (again designed to be as annoying as humanly possible most days) where you then also have to deal with getting a random shot result each time…. ✓ Throttled winningI’m not typically one to complain but this game could not more clearly keep you from winning more than 1….MAYBE 2 matches in a row. I noticed pretty quickly that some weird things would happen in a match following a win. Examples being the ball would roll further or stop on a dime. So I paid more attention and would purposely play more conservatively after a win only to see my shots do much wilder things. At best they make the shot variability higher after you win, at worst it’s done to force you into buying coins to continue playing. Either way, I will no longer be playing the pro league until I see info saying this has been clearly changed. The daily game is a fun break after morning emails though..Version: 2.1.1
✓ Cool idea, but RNG is annoyingThe idea of this game is really great - 5 holes and you decide how you want to play it to get the best score. My one big gripe with this game is that there is a heavy amount of RNG applied to the driver and wedge - which can be frustrating because the ball doesn’t always follow the exact path that is shown when you take a shot. I’ve seen some people say how they think the RNG makes it more realistic and like actual golf - but it makes the game less of a matter of skill when you include a “random” factor like RNG. I’d like to see something like wind speed or a more measurable factor to replace the RNG factor - making the game more skill-based when you add something like that to make it a little harder rather than something that you have no control over.Version: 1.14
✓ It’s okay, and then it’s not okayI like the game for the daily round of 5 holes, I actually do it while having coffee in the morning. The Pro Tour seemed like a good idea and I was interested in the idea of playing against others. I’ve come to see that I am playing against bots or AI, not other people. I’ve seen the “opponent” take a shot that bounces wide into water or off the area, but then the ball is on the green somehow. That’s not fair. I follow the golf bot around the course and match them shot for shot. Every time they make amazing shots. I have a hard time believing there are that many live people making those perfect shots. Seems unlikely. On the first level of Pro Tour, the Brew, the bot will mess up sometimes ( maybe it is a real person). But on higher levels like Beans and Mocha, i rarely get a win even if I get every hole in two strokes or less. I paid for coins once and they disappeared quickly on the Mocha tour, so I won’t be spending anymore money on that. If they’re not going to match us with real people who are online, at least program the AI to make a mistake once in a while like a real person..Version: 2.1.1
✓ Great, but what’s up with the tour?I like this game and it’s a lot of fun. Although, the whole appeal is the pro tour mode. I can tell I am not playing with actual people. This is clear. They do use real player names but don’t have real players on the other side. The problem with it is that the mode is completely imbalanced. You have one opponent who is trash, next game you have an opponent who is a little better, then after that you play against a god. I assume it is to balance the game play and keep your win rate at an appropriate amount. But they ramp the difficulty so high that you have to make two birdies in a round to win. (Typically all holes can be par 2 with some par 3 - if you play well) This also plays into the fact that the ball tends to veer off in to an unknown direction at long shots. So you have to play well and lucky. I would update this review if they managed the bots and slight randomness a little better..Version: 2.2.5
✓ Beware! WAS Fun but…. DEVS got greedyAs aforementioned in many other reviews, this is a aesthetically pleasing, entertaining, simple mechanics game. But the randomness is infuriating, and clearly purposefully built into the game to force you to loose your coin as soon as you make enough to push forward. Yet another game trying to find ways to make you pay up to make progress; never fails. Edit: Had to remove another star. Was hopeful when I saw a update, went back in to check it out, and it’s only gotten worse. Added more trinkets in hopes to for people to find more reason to purchase more unnecessary items. Glitches got so much worse & pulled the curtain back even further on how rigged each game is against you. Experienced “forfeit?” messages well before loss is a forgone conclusion (still plenty of shots to win or draw matches). Perfectly lined/powered shots suddenly hit invisible walls at the threshold of cup, and/or suddenly bounce of in a random direction. Another fun one is when deciding to change shot type or direction, no matter how careful you are to fully retract shot, game often times will take the liberty to waste a shot for you..Version: 2.2.2

✓ Could be great.The daily courses are great. The pro tour is where I have complaints. They need to be against players in real time. Right now I am finding myself playing the same 4 guys and their coins and trophies are drastically different from round to round which means it’s recorded games. This is dumb. It feels like you get close to completing it and they throw a match at you where some guy has scored a 7 or 8. Also the ball no longer flys consistently. You can zoom in and take a straight shot but then it can veer left or right by a lot. Makes no sense. Ultimately it is a fun game but save yourself the frustration of playing the Pro Tour until it’s fixed. Also they need to add a feature to play friends live..Version: 2.1.1

You select one of 3 clubs, the aim AAAAAND the ball goes wherever the game wants it to, grab the driver and hit a long perfect drive or a weird creoles Shot that bounces off invisible obstacles. Grab the putter line up your shot pull back AAAAAND it goes long or short depending on how the game decides. The only thing you truly control is the direction you hit, NOTHING else is up to you. ✓ Great Game ruined by greedI rarely leave reviews, but wow did the developers blow it. This game is incredible, one that I played every day for the last 6 months. The Pro Circuit was a great addition to the game, making competition fun without being frustrating. It was such a simple and tight game! Then they added the shop, and then gems and the death spiral of Pay-To-Win mechanics that plagues every single mobile game in existence. What’s the point of gems besides making transactions less legible for the end user? In the end, Coffee Golf will get added to the pile of amazing games that became destroyed by the developers greed..Version: 2.2.5
