✓ Poor shadow of the originalI was excited when I saw this game in the App Store as I had played the original and loved it but this is just a poor imitation. The only way to advance is to do PvP battles against other users who’ve had the chance to build up their dungeons and you don’t stand a chance against. It should put you against other people who are the same level but it doesn’t and you lose and it’s frustrating. In the original PC game you fought against dungeons run by the computer and it was fun and you made progress, they should have kept it that way. I would have paid for that but the way it is now, no thanks not even for free..Version: 1.8.91

✓ I yearn for my PC versionI will say that this game has the rank dark humor that helped me fall in love with the original. However, I was hoping for a version like the old PC game that allows me to disconnect and just build, slap and kill computer generated levels of mayhem. I already have games that require me to join leagues, do battle in PVP and complete mindless raids to gain points. So, could there be this game and the old version? Allow us to battle and kill our frienemis but to also just kick back and slap our way through some randomness like we did on the OG version..Version: 1.8.91
✓ Average but not as good as the PC namesakeI enjoyed DK 1 and 2 back in the day, I saw the app and downloaded it instantly. Sadly it lacks the same gameplay. You can’t build your dungeon rooms to the size you want, and it lacks the possession feature. It’s also extremely stingey on the gems. You 800 for an imp and get 2 or 3 a time? Matchmaking is horrible as I get on runs of dungeons way out of my league and I cannot defeat as they are obviously WAY above my weight class. ✓ Just okI loved the original Dungeon Keeper 1 & 2 and this doesn't really match that style. This is more Clash of Clans and A tower defense hybrid. ...and that is somewhat ok. I can accept that. The return of the original voice actor of Horny is worth one, maybe even two stars all by itself. But my biggest gripe is the matchmaking. Very high level players can attack low level dungeons and you are helpless to defend against them. I had 1500 trophies and was wiped out by just the immortal of someone who had 17,000. A much higher dungeon level than mine. This is the sort of thing that keeps me from spending any money in this game. Higher level players should either not be allowed to attack low level players or at least the penalty for doing so should be such that it's not worth their time and the impact to the lower level player's progress isn't so damaging..Version: 1.7.89

But before I continue on with my statement let me say this, I have never had an experience like the one I'm about to mention, only similar experiences. I haven't touched this game, and I'm not going to, because EA is a company that feed off the tag of "free to play", and then slows the game to a screeching halt and says "buy gems to speed up this 24 our mining process!" This is disgusting, EA took a a series beloved by many, and forced it into a cold hard lifeless shell of what this game once was, I may have no played Dungeon Keeper, but I don't need to play either versions to know... that EA is company that feeds off people's people's childhoods, or at least with this game. And you wanna know what EA seas in response to the overwhelming complaints from fans of the series looking for some update that will fix all the problems, making EA look good, making the, truly good, and making the community happy? ✓ Total CrapFirst of all the game is psychologically created to fuel frustration, I would say play clash of clans or dominations rather then this, first the gold and stone does not produce fast enough, and every time you get attacked you lose way more than you’ll earn and on top of that to rebuild trap cost as much as the enemy attacker has taken so there’s no way to advance in free to play past level 9 because you’ll never earn enough to level up anything because of the constant attacks, I found the game amusing at first, but once you realize that the whole game is a set up for failure, you spend all this in game money to level up a wall that is basically paper to these bombs that instantly destroy your defense in one shoot and they make a path straight to you dungeon heart, plus you can’t move your resources generators which basically leaves you at a disadvantage.Version: 1.8.91

I was going to ask EA a question about this game but, after reading some of the reviews I feel it would be useless to ask EA any question at all. Along with no updates for at least a year on this game. I used to play the PC version of this game with my brother, they stopped any and all support for the PC version and came out with this lame one. You can’t do anything in this so called game. It takes two hours to dig and eight hours to upgrade any room. This is ridiculous time wise, the PC version NEVER had time limits like this. ✓ Great graphics - reminds me of the classic gameUPDATED REVIEW -- 3 years later, game still has 2 hour dig times. EA Games learned nothing. I have DUNGEON KEEPER 2 on the PC and the mobile game is ridiculous awful in comparison. Deleting the game again. However this game is also seriously flawed. I could grant perhaps that the game has “Realistic Real Time Build Rates”, but in practice this game has become a total bore with the “Click & Wait 2 HOURS” gameplay time spans. ✓ Good but glitchyI’d love to give this game 5 stars. I love the original and was beyond exciting to see this as a mobile game. However it’s VERY glitchy. Daily it’ll lose connection to the server, even during battles. Causing me to lose all my minions and profits. It’s getting very annoying. Secondly, I seem to mysteriously and randomly lose profits just by closing the game.. and not from being attached.. it just “forgets”. Thirdly, very annoying that they make it next to impossible to have more than 2 imps without paying physical money for one. I’m almost done with this game.. not sure how much patience I have left. I put some money into the game up front - about what I would expect to pay for a PC game or maybe more - but it became clear very early on that this would be an expensive game to keep playing. If EA would give you at least one restart it would all be good. ✓ Free to play isn’t really an optionIn this game, you start out progressing pretty quickly. Then you hit the “Gem Vein”. Each gem vein takes two hours. 2! But you COULD use some gems, but if you do that, you will run out of gems. Also, the micro transactions are soo terrible. However the app is extremely glitchy, cave ins don’t actually work and you get attacked anyways, you are paired with other dungeons that are impossible to beat and overall it seems like the developers don’t really care about people being able to play fairly and they only care about how much money is spent to get ahead. ✓ Tragic imbalanceIn the beginning this game is fun. But the wait times to level up minions, traps, immortals, rooms etc, is ridiculously fast and cheap (gold/stone/gems) at the lower levels, but as your levels increase, the wait times and cost of upgrades increases exponentially. If you don’t spend money to play this game, you won’t level up well enough to compete at the highest levels for years. I’ve played for 3 years, and I’m only a third of the way to where the top competitors are. My biggest grudge against EA for this game is that the highest level players can attack and steal gold and stone from much lower level players. There’s no realistic way you can retaliate against those higher level dungeons to regain the resources they steal. It takes forever to acquire enough resources to upgrade even just one minion. And then you wait two weeks before you can upgrade another, that is if you have gained enough resources to do it again. The game is ridiculously imbalanced and too time consuming to make it fun at the higher levels of game play. Initially it’s fun, just don’t upgrade much and stay at lower levels if you want to “just play the game.” Otherwise, leveling up is a time commitment many won’t want to afford..Version: 1.7.89
✓ I’ve had enoughDownloaded this last night and did the updates and had NOTHING but issues trying to connect to the server even though every other internet connected app works perfectly. Seems like when I cannot connect, I get attacked!! When I do well, I seem to have the same issues, cannot connect. If the spotty hit and miss ability to play wasn’t bad enough, then within a very small time period, they want to you start paying. I would have liked this to me more an offline game and have a full version available for purchase instead of this. ✓ Good Game Ruined by EconomyThe game play is fun and a fairly challenging. I'd like more complexity but it's okay as is. The build times are t bad. Waiting12 hours to 5 days for something to build adds realism, something to look foreword to, and incentive to come back to the game. Where the game falls completely flat is in its economy. Gems are the real currency of the game which can be earned by digging or completing quests. The pay out is absurdly low. The only real way to play the game is by spending $50-75 dollars for gems. Anyhow, at first I enjoyed playing the game but then builds began taking 1 day then 2 days, etc. I could have lived with that but your dungeon is under constant threat of attack and as usual high level players purposely drop their rank to farm lower level players. I just watch a player defeat my entire dungeon with just one troop. They hit every room and trap. ✓ Way to go, gameSo I had the game for a little under a month, but I did put a lot of time into it. I was able to grind up to gold 3 in that amount of time. However, I got signed out of game center for some reason, and when I went to log back in....all of my progress was gone! It had reset the game to an earlier point when I had only been playing for like 20 minutes. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times to no avail. So, way to go, game..Version: 1.8.91
