✓ Great graphics- so-so gameplayI never really felt very in control of what was happening. The graphics are beautiful, but man, the voice acting is terrible. ✓ Good idea poor resultThis game was okay, but if I could go back and not pay for it, I would have. It's nice to play a game on the iphone with no in app purchases, but this game lacked personality. I had my shop fully upgraded half wY through the game. It would be nice if the experience was more customizable and each level unique. It felt like a random uncontrollable shooter for most of the game. It tried to be interesting by allowing you to pick a side to fight on but in the end I'm not sure it mattered. This game falls way short. Waste of money in my opinion at it's current state..Version: 1.2.1

✓ Crashes Upon Opening iOS 17.2 iPhone 15 ProSeems this app is currently broken with the latest iOS versions. It’s been a while since I played it, but when it did work, I remember this game being very fun and engaging. It’s sort of an on-rails 3D space shooter much like the Starfox series. It’s pretty nostalgic for me, so hopefully we eventually get an update to fix the crashing!.Version: 2.3.0

✓ OkayThis game is okay, nice graphics and decent story. It's too short though, lacks re-playability and is extremely limited in customization. Very linear storyline despite having choices which only seem to change in-game dialog and enemy type. Final boss is extremely difficult to beat, and leaves the 6-8 mission storyline feeling incomplete and pointless. Not recommended..Version: 1.0.2

✓ OK, too shortThis game had a lot of potential but misses the mark. Unlike Galaxy on Fire, where you have full 3 dimensional control when flying around and a very interesting set of upgradable capabilities, in this game your ship is moved along a pre-determined path and you can simply move around the screen during the fly through. I found myself just swiping all over the place and firing all three main weapons over and over again. The targeting system isn't intuitive. The story is fairly lame too. Most importantly, I finished this game in a couple hours. Not worth the money at this point..Version: 2.0.0
✓ Good game. Gamebreaking bugs.Good graphics and framerate. However, there is a frustrating gamebreaking bug in level 2 where if you restart from a check point the civilian ship disappears and the containers materialise and hit your ship out if thin air making it impossible to progress. ✓ MehI was expecting a GOF type a feel from this game and was sorely disappointed when it turned out to be a fly around and shoot people aimlessly game. The story line was lacking, the voice acting was, for lack of a better term, lame, and the gameplay was insanely easy. Although the graphics aren't half bad that's the only thing this game has going for it, in my opinion. I beat the game in less then two hours. All in all, I just wasted $2. For those of you looking for a quality gaming experience, just skip it. If you happen to like shooting at stuff pointlessly then go right ahead..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Wow!Decided to downgrade my original rating (which was 5 stars) since the game always crashes after the first checkpoint in the "SOS" mission. Its the one where you have to first decide to either join the rebels or stick with the Federation. I'm forced to restart this already hard mission from scratch... Also voice acting is laughable can be very weak! Otherwise I still generally like the game. I downloaded it based on the app store images; never heard of it before then. The visuals in this game are truly amazing! The graphics will blow you away - especially on an iPad Air. Many years ago I loved the visuals in X-Wing games (LucasArts) and since then have been trying to find a space sim that has that same visual impact - and this has it and more since its a modern game. I really like the massive scale of the larger vessels and planets compared to my ship. Few (no) space games ever seem to get that right. This game does! Explosions are the best in any ios game. ✓ One big problemGame is good but you can't play inverted on a controller like the moga or stratus. There is no option to change it. So down is down and up is up... Instead of up is down and down is up. Very crucial for an airplane game..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Good but not greatThis game is fun and the graphics are beautiful. But very difficult to advance further in. Despite the developer's notes, older devices cannot run this app properly. ✓ Boring and uglyFirstly, the game is an on-rails shooter, you have no control over where the ship flies just what your ship fires and who you fire at. The games does have some branching storyline but is not particularly interesting. Also the game looks bad by my eyes, I mean, look at galaxy on fire 2 hd, the game came out several years ago and looks leaps and bounds more beautiful than this game, plus you had full control of your ship and a huge world to explore. ✓ Could be improved,Not bad overall, decent looking, smooth controls (super important in this type of games). Definitely suffer from some design issues though, object collision is going to happen because they can come from behind with no warning, or flip floping cameras causing disorientation and colliding with objects you were on course to avoid. A lot of enemies from behind, but no loop the loop to get around them so you need to wait until they get in front of you. Would love to see maybe some more variety of upgrades, just 2 upgrades is kinda limited. Interesting "choice" system, although the scoring system is a bit weird since the stars system isn't particularly useful when the players don't have much in ways of a objective list or briefing pre-mission. Pretty solid, love the no IAP, but it does feel a bit light..Version: 1.0.1

The difficulty ramps up too quickly, however and when you fail an objective, you might be scratching your head as to what you could have done better. On the plus side, no in-app purchases—only in-game currency is needed to upgrade your craft. If only more developers would follow this model. ✓ Reviewer: learn what "retina" isThe guy that said these aren't retina graphics doesn't have a clue about game graphics. The native resolution of this game IS retina, it just doesn't use very high resolution textures. There's nothing an update can do about it, they'd need to rework all of the game's texture assets to do that. I'm just sick of people who don't know what they're talking about saying a game is not retina. The game itself is OK, aforementioned low-res textures make the game look sloppy and the action is too loose, even for an arcade shooter. The voice acting is just plain awful. I'd recommend Arc Squadron as a much better game of the same genre but it's all freemium'd out now. If you bought the original version, just go play that instead- it's much better than this in about every way- Unreal engine, tighter controls, better environments and bosses..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Sorry but it's really boringI hate to be harsh, as I can see a lot of time went into making this, but the fact is it's so dull and repetitive with no sense of any challenge. I gave it 3 try's with a few days in between. Each time I went back I was more disappointed by how tedious and lame the whole thing was. Sorry guys, but it's a delete. You get one point for nice art, but there has to a game under there somewhere and sadly there is not, or not a fun one anyway. As others have suggested, if you haven't played it yet, Galaxy on Fire is the real deal - get that instead. This doesn't even come close, sorry..Version: 1.0.2
