The last update doesn’t Gel with me though it’s like the developers haven’t finished completing the update and you’ve got flashing lights and square boxes instead of sparkles when an area is ready to play it’s spoiling the game for me so I won’t be going on it as much. ✓ BEST HIDDEN OBJECT GAME & GRAPHICSThis is the only game I’ve ever enjoyed for years. The graphics are fantastic and ruin it for all other HO game developers. There are Big Fish game groups, some dedicated to Midnight Castle solely. My favorite is a Midnight Castle group on the Delphi forums. People there have devoted a great deal of time creating a book on steps to take throughout. Some have also dedicated time to type out the entire story. It’s very helpful and fun to read. Developers are quick, when possible, to fix a problem. I wish, as does everyone else, that new levels would come out faster, but even when there is a delay, there is always plenty to do. ✓ Brilliant game!I’ve been playing this game for about 5 years and am on level 67. I really enjoy it and the graphics are excellent. I play it on an iPad and have never had an issue with crashing. The only criticism I have is that coins are SSOO expensive to buy. Come on guys, make the costs realistic. Plus opening new levels can cost up to $40 in real money!! This week following once such break on returning there was quite a lot to download which was fine and the game had moved on a little which is great. Played happily for a while before bed. Next day and since then I have not been able to get back on, the game hangs at the opening screen. If you have not played this before and are able to open it then I recommend it..Version: 1.14.32
✓ Midnight CastleMy wife got me on MC, and although a purveyor of strategy games, I played to help her initially then wound up hooked. Good graphics, storyline is ok (I still haven't figured the "notes" in each scene however) but could be more interesting, and the interface is very good. Having to double or triple-back for an item is tedious, but that's part of it. Progress is slow, as the expense of opening new areas is steep, but finding new things is fun. The side events/tasks are fun as well, I especially like snagging the random eggs which pop up during spring. Would be nice to have more themes to go along with Christmas, Halloween and Easter. Also perhaps a cheaper way to get food for the pets. Still I give it a five star, never had a bug, nor crash or difficulties with updates..Version: 1.14.19

I'm on level 54 and it takes so long to build my coins just to unlock different places that I can't complete my quests because there is not enough coins. I think you should get more coins after you max out your hidden objects rooms! Also please fix the tournament room it got locked on one of the updates and never reopened! Please update to the holiday themes I have been trying to complete all the quests and it takes y'all so long to go from Halloween to Christmas to Spring.Version: 1.14.16

✓ So What’s The Problem?I’m amazed at the number of people who complain about this FREE game. I’ve played to “the end” of the game three different times and have NEVER spent a dime of real money. The game gives you everything you need to play the game. Literally. You do have to work for the items you need but if you join a Facebook group of players you can find friends and can work together to get what you need. Doing the seasonal events is how you get “rich” playing but it is time consuming. I’ve made 2 million coins, thousands of pet food, gems, and airship items by just clearing every private room of every friend, every day. The graphics and music are beautiful and there are tons of achievements to work towards. The game is definitely not for lazy folks but it is an enjoyable quest..Version: 1.14.53
✓ AddictingThe game is a lot of fun if you like hidden object games. Great graphics. My only beef is that it is so hard to build up coins and opening each level is so expensive. Unless you are willing to spend untold hours playing the same puzzles to acquire 50 coins each, you have to buy more coins and diamonds. And that can add up costing you hundreds of real dollars. Rewards should be higher. And items should be worth more than 15-50 coins. You can create more high value items that will gain you 1,000+ coins. ✓ Game tries to extort money from players but nice graphicsI have bought many games from big fish to include their deluxe version of hidden object games with real plot. This game has a flimsy plot and asks for $15 minimum to buy more gold pieces or gems. And sad part is the $15 may just be enough to get through one stage just to go to another scene which requires a lot more good pieces to unlock. Networking feature stinks as it is not clear how to find Facebook friends who also play to add them. Someone found me on the site who is level 126 while I am merely at level 43 so at least I have one person to trade with. Have not dropped a penny on this game and hope they end this and make either an affordable follow on or sequel to the awakening series..Version: 1.14.48

✓ MysteriousLove the game. I wish it moved on a little faster in opening new levels though. I could play for hours and the graphics are awesome. Love how you change the rooms up to keep it interesting. Your graphics are the best. Seems to be moving along faster, now I just need ways to get money faster. New rooms are expensive to open but love, love the game. I like the mini games and new challenges with finding items. Don't really like when the rooms are blacked out very hard on eyes after one or two rooms. But you make the games very interesting with all the changes. I love the puzzles to solve and trying to guess which hand holds the prize. Don't win very often but enough to make it fun. ✓ Interminable GreedNo overall plot. Game seems to be designed to extract $ from the players as the primary objective. There's no upgrade of the character as you progress - only more difficult and expensive quests with no offset in ability to accomplish them, and no way to get rewards than when you start the game, therefore no sense of accomplishment or actual progress towards a final goal,whatever that might be! The game does work well and the graphics are first rate, which has kept me at it to level 44. Another level opens up after level 45; if nothing significant happens then,l think tI'll quit the game and stay clear of "free" games in the future. Now at level 76-- guess I'm a gluten for punishment! Some improvement in plot and rewards, but not enough to my way of thinking. Why am I still playing? Partially inertia and familiarity, and also a desire to "beat" this game with a minimum expenditure of $$. Not, unfortunately, to learn how it all turns out, as segments keep getting added faster than I can negotiate them, with no end in sight. Big Fish, please end this game and create a sequel. ✓ AddictiveI absolutely LOVE this game and I play it to relax. I dropped a star because it would improve gameplay tremendously if I could sell the Shards. I don’t use them at all, but after completing a room, I get pretty fed up when I’m gifted a shard instead of something useful. Please allow us the choice to sell them, even if it’s a low price. I am always behind with cash, so it wouldn’t make a difference. Also, items have to be continually tapped sometimes before they move, very irritating. ✓ Fun game if you have patience.This is a really engaging game, with new quests and rewards opening up frequently. There are times where you have to do a lot of busy work to get to the next quest, but if you are patient you do not need to buy currency to keep playing. The diamonds are not terribly hard to get, and as long as you don't want to skip over tasks a lot they go a long way. The special events are fairly regular and you don't need to spend money to earn some nice rewards. I've played some games that were very "greedy" and required a lot of money for anything good. ✓ Love the game!I’ve been playing this game for about 4 years and have only good things to say about it. The graphics are beyond fabulous always something extra. I won’t buy coins but I do buy diamonds but only once a month. I use the time between updates to build my coins and inventory. Hidden objects have been a passion for me since I was a child and discovered highlights magazine for kids. Any issues I’ve had with the game I’ve taken to the customer service team and have always come away feeling that I was taken care of by someone who cares. ✓ I love this game!The graphics are beautiful, the puzzles are good, the quests are interesting and the seasonal challenges are entertaining. I agree with another comment that as you get to higher levels, the amount of gold coins needed to open new areas is very high. It's also frustrating that every third or fourth item requires a new area to be opened, so you spend more time just trying to get the 10,000 coins needed to open an area. But that being said, it's still a great game and I also like that I can play and advance without having to make in-app purchases. You can find all you need if you're patient. The latest update has ads that you can choose to see and reduce the time it takes to recharge a HOS. I like this feature. However, recently the ad plays and then the game crashes. I get a white screen and then nothing. Have to close and reopen the game. Pleas fix.Version: 1.14.15
✓ You can play without spending cashI’ve seen some complaints about needing to spend money, but other than an initial purchase I made to support game development, I don’t spend money to accrue game diamonds or gold. The side quest puzzles allow you to accrue both along with needed game pieces, while you get gold and objects every time you explore a hidden object scene. Graphics are beautiful, and if you think there’s no plot, you are not paying attention. It does take longer to get to certain goals if you don’t spend real world cash on gold and diamonds, so that takes patience. Your choice, though, if getting through the game more quickly is worth spending money. I enjoy the game immensely without doing so. YMMV.Version: 1.14.18

(I have deleted all other HO games and only play this one) There have been some issues with the game, but I think they were working on the game at that time. I am only on level 34 and I hear there are at least 70 levels so far in the game. I am a member of "Midnight Castle for iPad users" forum on Facebook (join this group and get MC friends from this forum to help you along with your game)and a lot of the players are at level 70 and can't get any further. They have been waiting for awhile for that update and are upset, however I have been playing MC since the beginning of 2016 and I'm only at level 34, so it will take a new player awhile to get to level 70! ✓ Enjoying the GameI’ve been playing this for about three years now and got to Level 60. I see I now need a lot of coins to get through to higher levels, but they can be made from other sources from just the Hidden Object Puzzles. Pets often bring you a lot, morphing objects give the out sometimes, you might win something on the Fortune Wheel which you can sell, you can sell surplus objects you have collected, you might get them from Daily Achievements, especially when you awarded a Treasure Chest, your Secret Room gives them out. There is in fact plenty of variety in the game. I find I do need to but diamonds from time to time if you want to take part in the Special Events, but you can still progress without taking part and without spending any money..Version: 1.14.19

✓ Best Hidden Room Game EverI have been playing for a long time and am never disappointed. It does take the designers a rather long time to develop a new “kingdom” but understandable with the beautiful graphics. I just entered the 14th, the Citadel. The new rooms and items require a lot of coins to open. If you go into the bag in your Inventory, a lot can be cashed out for 80, 90, 100 coins each. ✓ LoveThis game has some of the best graphics I’ve seen. There is no need to spend money unless you want to go faster in the game. It’s relaxing and you can go at the pace you want. Try to get as many friends as you can (200 seems to be a nice number) because when there are special events, you can visit their rooms and make a lot of coins. You can use the search feature for friends and just start typing names and sending invites. My advice is not to spend all your coins or pet food. Let it accumulate a little or else it can get frustrating. You also don’t need to send the airship every few hours. There is a Facebook group that offers a lot of help and tips. ✓ Love it!My mom got me started on this game. I have played many other games similar to this but this one has me hooked. I love the graphics. So colorful. It does have its times when it becomes a bit monotonous having to repeat the cycle to get the coins you need to move on and open new places. I can't afford to spend money to further my progress. So I will cycle through, sometimes for a few days to get what I need. I play everyday and don't seem to get very far but I still love the challenge of getting there. I have run across a couple issues but nothing I can't deal with. The worst one has been on several occasions I have left my game with several 1000's of coins, to come back the next day and only had a couple 100. One suggestion to developers - Please separate the “Sound Effects” so you can choose to have the sounds related to each location but not the achievement sounds (for finding items, finishing a HoS/ZZ etc.) I love the location sounds, make me feel connected to the game, but if volume is up enough to hear them then the ‘achievement’ sounds are very loud and intrusive. Then found the forum and learned about the intricacies of playing the game - strategies for using all the tools at your disposal like playing puzzles for diamonds and items that you can use to complete quests or turn into shards or coins. Crafting items, using pets to help find items and coins, and learning to work the fortune wheel to your advantage keeps the game interesting. Gifting to friends is fun and they have really rescued me when I got low on brown stamps... The variety of daily quests, Castle challenges and the spring, fall and Christmas events (with their own challenges) keep the game interesting. There are a few free "changes of mode" that I can use to change the scene from "Night Mode". When those are used up, I won't be able to play. ✓ Chips /CoinsI have been playing this game forever, (it seems like), and I have nearly 3million. At 5 years of playing I had well over 1mill. I don’t know how anyone who has been playing this game to its full extent for a few years is short of coins to open new areas. If I was ever short, in the early years, I just sold stuff. Some pet eggs sell for thousands. Morphing flowers give coins. Watching an advert gives you coins. Looking forward to playing for another 10 years..Version: 1.14.68
✓ GREAT GAME AND GRAPHICS, BUT VERY GREEDYI agree with several other reviews about the constant need to buy more coins, and I did for a while. Then I realized this game can be a real money pit. I seem to remember that coin rewards for solving various puzzles would vary in much higher amounts until an upgrade awhile back. I guess the folks at BIG FISH decided their revenue stream was way too slow and started limiting the prizes to amounts so small that progress would basically stop without purchase of coins. Still, it is my favorite game. Just a little frustrating to have to earn so many coins to be able to open a new HOS or Zoom Room due to their high cost..Version: 1.14.18
✓ V.O.A.PLove this game. Hate the blacked out hidden object scenes. So annoying. Wish you could swop diamonds for coins and some of the achievements don't merit the paltry rewards. But is the best free game around. The graphics are amazing and there is always something to do. Since the last update I cannot access the game. I have an Apple iPad and the same thing happened last time. Please sort this. It gets to 99percent then crashes. It is not my signal as everything else is working. ✓ Enjoyable but....I enjoy playing this game but frustrated that my progress cannot be across different devises. I’ve had to start again for when I’m at a loose end out and about waiting for people.
