✓ Shameless Cash grabThey have managed to turn such a great game into a shameless cash grab. I’d rather just pay up front than constantly have to buy crystals, made worse by the fact that they’re so darn expensive. You can’t proceed without them, and even when you manage to almost all purchases from the previous level are reset and have to be bought again with more crystals. ✓ Hard to get gemsEarly in the game you have to unlock a “lobster dinner” to complete the challenge but it costs 130 gems. you start out with 40 and aren’t nearly close enough to buy it. also as you level up you have to have a certain number of stars to continue, but in order to gain those stars you have to complete the challenges - some cost gems. The game doesn’t tell you this so as you upgrade your diner to get more tips, you don’t have enough gems for the stuff that is required. I had to delete the app and restart bc of this.Version: 1.5.0
✓ Glitchy gameI want to echo the difficulty others have expressed with acquiring gems. However, my biggest complaint is how glitchy this app is. I’ve gotten stuck on loading screens several times. My last straw was when it got stuck on an ad (I was trying to earn some gems). The ad wouldn’t load, got stuck on one screen, and didn’t have an option to exit. This ultimately made the game unplayable. Bummer because I’m a big fan of all other penguin diner games..Version: 1.9.2
✓ Fun and cute, has its issuesBeen playing since the first Penguin Diner came out. Really cute and fun game. Would recommend to others. It’s hard to upgrade because you only get a few crystals. But if you do in game purchase it sometimes will just say purchase failed so then your just stuck. ✓ Doesn’t keep true to the Original Penguin Diner SpiritI played the original games a while ago. And while this is a nice homage to that. I find it too “pay to win” as opposed to work hard and you will succeed that the first penguin diners seemed to show. Gems are difficult to get and you are forced to upgrade to be able to pass some of the challenges. Also the prices do not show up when you do try to buy extra gems..Version: 1.5.0

✓ Fun game with bad stuffThis is a very fun game however you need stars to move to the next days, and to get those extra stars you have to purchase stuff that are ridiculously expensive, it wont let you progress if you dont. ✓ I do like the game but I have a few problemsI love the 3d effect of the game! I play it a lot more than the original penguin diner 1&2. However I think it's outrageous that in order to upgrade the diner that I have to pay with both diamonds and coins. I would appreciate it more if I could just choose on or the other. I also think that it's outrageous on the amount of diamonds I have to sell in order to upgrade. If you change those flaws I'll like the game better! 😊.Version: 1.4.0
✓ Great game, but...Requiring premium currency as a way to progress through the game is ridiculous. Crystals should NOT be required to progress through the game. Crystals should be available as a way to progress through the game faster by getting better "premium" upgrades and using boosters. Once I found that out I uninstalled the game. I will not be paying for premium currency so I can buy basic upgrades like tables and chairs. It should not be a requirement..Version: 1.4.0

✓ Complete pay-to-win situationThe game is relatively fun, but not nearly as much as the other games. I’m stuck now because I can’t play further because I don’t have enough stars, but that’s because some challenges that will give you the star require that you buy upgrades. However it’s impossible to buy these upgrades if you don’t have enough crystals and you can’t get more crystals because you can’t complete the challenges. You’re essentially stuck in a loop. Problem could be fixed if the upgrades were made cheaper or there was an option to watch ads to gain crystals at any point you want. ✓ PenguinDiner3DThis game is so much fun and I love penguins., but how is a person suppose to complete the challenges if you not given the tools to complete them for example the lobster challenge if no one orders the lobster how do you complete the challenge another example the couples, if there’s no couples you can’t complete that challenge either and it’s impossible to serve 5 to 6 drinks in a row most of these challenges are impossible to complete and you can’t move to the next stage because you haven’t earned enough stars which is not told to you but you figure it out. ✓ Not as satisfying as the first twoThe story isn’t as clearly laid out and you’re basically just plunked into a diner without an explanation of what your goal is. Will you move from diner to diner across the countryside or are you stuck in this bleak four table diner forever? Who knows. The store doesn’t make sense and most things cost a ridiculous amount of “crystals,” which aren’t easy to earn and basically force you to spend money on them to progress. You have to get 3 stars on ALL levels to go to another restaurant..AND you basically have to pay throughout the game to keep playing!! Penny says herself "Crystals are rare so you should spend them wisely." HOW? WHEN UPGRADES COST CRYSTALS AND COINS! You have to spend 100 on lobster dish and 100 on table. They don't even give you 200 throughout challenges to even pay for that! Which results you to spending money. Which me and my friends REFUSE to do. ✓ Not affordableIt's a really cool game I could see myself playing it for hours. However, I don't think I will be spending any more of my time on it because everything is so expensive and basically you can't upgrade anything without crystals which cost so much. ✓ Diamonds are the problem.I have been playing this game since it was only available online. I love this game and while this is a nice update, you cannot upgrade much. You don’t get diamonds unless they are gifts and only get gifts if you complete challenges. Some challenges require you to upgrade but in order to do that you need diamonds, you see the problem? It forces you to buy diamonds with real money, except you can’t do that either because the buttons to but the diamonds don’t work..Version: 1.5.0

Some of the challenges you need to 'upgrade' but the amount of coins and gems you've earned you can't afford the update to complete the challenge. I can't get pass day 12 without purchasing coins, crystals, or the package. I know they are in it for the money, but even watching the ads is not enough to really help. ✓ Very fun but I have complaintsThis game is so fun because it adds more to the original penguin diners, but there’s some things that need changing for it to be better. My first complaint is that it’s literally IMPOSSIBLE to earn enough gems for the upgrades that are necessary at every restaurant, my next complaint is that the game ends quickly. There’s only 3 restaurants that you get through pretty quick, so it’s not even worth it to buy gems because the game doesn’t go on. It was fun, but the longer it takes to build more restaurants, the more uninterested I am. If you want people to actually spend money on the game and make it worth it, create more restaurants. One yes the price for upgrades is a bit costly especially since you only get a certain number of crystals only if you complete the challenges of that day. Also there’s no way to go back to the main screen or to the calendar if you select a day you either have to exit out of the app or play that day, you cannot go back. These two issues are frustrated considering that you have to have a certain amount of stars to keep playing otherwise your stuck watching ads for two crystals until you get to the number you need to buy upgrades to do the challenges. The upgrades are extremely expensive due to the gems. You don’t even earn that much, and replaying levels doesn’t give you any more. In order to earn gems if you aren’t going to buy any, you have to watch ads. Which I find ridiculous that this is basically a “Pay to Play” game.
