The Sailor’s Dream for Positive User Reviews

Peaceful haunting interactive storyThis would work well as a bed time story for kids (and adults too of course), provided you take it slowly and explore one space per night. There are some gloomy aspects in the narrative but nothing you wouldn't find in a Grimm's fairy tale. The musical toys are enchanting. The print outs add depth to the experience and could be lined up on a kid's bedroom wall. Get the idea of game out of your head. Treat it as an experience to be savored in small doses day by day..Version: 1.1

Indiscernible, tenuous, genius. This isn't a game. It's an experience to be savoured. Yes, the actual time you spend tapping the iPad may be shorter than you might expect, but if you fully explore it and take time to understand it, you'll probably still be thinking about it for years to come. Bravo Simogo!.Version: 1.1

5 STARS! Fantastic! Moving! Peaceful! The Sailor’s Dream is outstanding! It is very hard to stop playing with such beautiful graphics, immersive and catchy music and sounds, and an intriguing story. Incredible and unique concepts such as time passing even when you are not there creates a realistic experience. Very special indescribable feel to the story..Version: 1.3

Divisive like good art should beNot everyone is going to like this game (or interactive experience). Simogo is pushing boundaries and trying new things. They’re not out to please all people or simply regurgitate tried-and-true mechanics from other games. I may not like this game as much as Device 6, but that’s because I consider Device 6 to be one of the greatest games on any platform. Sailor’s Dream is still a fantastic experience. I think the key to enjoying it is to take your time. Don’t explore everything in one sitting. Visit an island a day. Listen to a song a day. Listen to a radio broadcast when you happen to have the app on at the right time. It’s a reflective, quiet game, and it should be experienced at a slow pace – a nice change from the frantic, twitchy games that dominate the app store..Version: 1.1

Genius storytellingThis is a beautiful piece of art and storytelling. It's a wonderful journey and an unfolding mystery. I suspect some of the "gamers" that left negative reviews here were hoping to shoot some aliens or get some kind of adrenaline fix. So of course they'll miss the point Interactive story-telling at its finest...pure genius..Version: 1.0

Artistic and escapistThis isn't so much of a game as a story you follow, and there's a little bit of figuring out what to do, but mostly you're an observer in this. I liked it and found it to be a pretty pleasant escape, and it has nice music. Simogo gets full marks from me for doing something unusual. There are so many games out there that are the same old thing, and it's really nice to see someone trying to be artistic and do something unique..Version: 1.1

Beautiful experience but far too shortThis game is a wonderful experience but way too short. After exploring everywhere within 15 minutes there was nothing new left to do. I appreciate I get a new song in a bottle each day but that's about it. Beautiful, engaging but short..Version: 1.1

A wonderful interactive storyThis is not a game!!! It is an interactive story designed like a labyrinth. If you take the wrong path or pattern you can’t proceed. But if you take the right path, more doors open. It’s a wonderful world and story. It involves your awareness of time and space. Have patience and curiosity. There is no rush..Version: 1.3

Not Simogo's BestNot Simogo's best, but better than most out there. Fantastic artwork and music as per usual..Version: 1.1

IntriguingI think this needs to be played little and often to get the best out of it..Version: 1.1

Absolutely stunningWonderful graphics and sound design! Great to see new stuff from my fav game company!!.Version: 1.2

FiverFiver.Version: 1.0

The Sailors Dream!Wow! I've had some amazing apps but this is something else!!! This is an absolute joke!!!!!! Might aswell have thrown £2.49 out of my car window on the way to work!!!! Feel totally robbed! Do NOT buy this rubbish!.Version: 1.1

Game was eh but the MUSICI would listen and listen to the music from the 7 song cottage till I knew all the lyrics to all the song. I downloaded the music from the Apple Music. So worth it just for the music.Version: 1.4

Interactive NovellaA fantastic experience with beautiful images, wonderful songs and heartbreaking narration. It’s an experience that could only be had on this medium and Simogo should be commended for their fantastic work. That said, after playing their previous titles (the haunting Year Walk and mysterious Device 6), I was left wanting a bit more from The Sailor’s Dream. Every time I interacted with something, I hoped it would lead me to another hidden secret. That was not the case. The only secrets to be revealed (that I’m aware of) are gleaned only from repeated return visits to this dream world. While I am more than happy to return time and again to this masterfully made dreamscape, I don’t quite feel the same sense of accomplishment as I did from their previous storytelling efforts. Still, this interactive narrative is absolutely worth your time and money..Version: 1.0

An Open-Minded ExperienceSimogo continues to innovate and charm with another fantastic experience that respects your intelligence and doesn't hold your hand. While a only a few hours in length, I wouldn't have traded it for anything else. It is unlike anything else, and a breathtaking experience. I look forward to your next Game, Sim o Go!.Version: 1.0

Beautiful, lyrical and differentSailor's Dream is a strange experience and difficult to pigeon-hole. It has a lilting, wistful quality that's part puzzle game, part picture book and part multimedia experience. It requires you to 'drift' and explore and the concept of time is cleverly exploited, a bit, I suppose, like a dream. The back story is poignant, the artwork beautifully rendered with a Myst like quality, but this isn't a hidden object clicker - it's a story, you need to follow the threads. Sailor's Deam doesn't have the creepiness of Year Walk the studios best known offering, but it has the same deep imagery and dark under-currents, so not one for the kids. Special mention also needs to go to the awesome vocals of Stephanie Hladowski, whose haunting lyrics encapsulate the atmosphere of the story. As an experiment in game genre I'm not sure it works 100%, but as a bold and unique piece of performance art with a Scandinavian noir twist, it's brilliant rendered. Those with a limited attention span looking for immediate gratification, well, you should buy another game....Version: 1.0

Nice, relaxing story appThis app is a beautifully designed work of art. It’s a collection of intriguing memories meant to be patiently explored and pieced together into a whole story at the very end. I find this concept very relaxing and interesting at the same time. I think it would have been better if all the musical “toys” in the game, like the hanging cubes and the cool stuff in the observatory actually had a purpose to advance the story. I found myself going back and forth between them, trying to figure out what they were supposed to change in the game, only to find out later that they had no purpose except to be played with. I can forgive this because the app is so darn beautiful..Version: 1.3

Immersion is BestA very sad, very beautiful story involving lost love and the ocean. Deeply moving. I teared up several times while exploring the world, and felt a great sympathy for the characters that I have not ever experienced in gaming before. If you love the ocean, as I do, I highly recommend this game purely for the immersion in this mysterious and beautiful world. The visuals are stunning, the sound effects fantastic, and the story is told in part, allowing your imagination to fill in the rest and make all connections. This is a game for dreamers. You are immersed in this world, and can exercise your imagination and sense of wonder as long and as extensively as you like. P.S. $5? That's a bargain considering the experience I got..Version: 1.1

Pretty! The art style's fantastic, but the game itself wasn't quite what I was looking for when I downloaded it. It would be great if the soundtrack (the days of the week songs especially) was available!.Version: 1.1

BeautifulThe most beautiful app, I think I've ever downloaded!.Version: 1.1

Absolutely beautifulThe graphics are absolutely stunning and the music is beautiful. Incredibly lovely and atmospheric game!.Version: 1.2

A MasterpieceTo me as of recently, being told a story isn't enough. I want to experience a story, to feels it! And for this I constantly seek out interactive experiences (I don't call them "games") like this one. And what a fantastic one this is! This is not a light experience. It requires a certain amount of thought and willingness to transpose your own feelings and experiences into the material. Worth every penny for those looking for more than a game or story!.Version: 1.0

The sailors dreamVery relaxing and there are so many secrets to discover... there are several ways to play this game. Hope you come out with a sequel !!.Version: 1.4

Beautiful and UniqueThis is a beautiful, almost surreal interactive story. It features beautiful graphics, music, and has a wonderful atmospheric quality. It is not a game, so much as a story, mapped out for you to explore. I personally love it..Version: 1.2

PerfectI've been wanting this app for ages as I've got almost all of simogos games and they are so amazing and after seeing this on offer I grabbed it and am glad I did, a beautiful dream like world with a great story to piece together and lovely music, once again another big thank you to this creative team, please keep bringing out these masterpieces.Version: 1.2

Charming ExperienceNot a game, more of a unique way of telling a story that I've never see before. The only reason it gets four stars instead of five is because... Well, it's a bit boring. Some might be disappointed by the length of this. It is short, even with the incentive to return. The storyline that's immediately available might not be compelling enough for some to bother uncovering the rest. That said, I think I will be unlocking everything. The artwork is beautiful, the music is lovely, and the printing feature is inspired. Such a shame it's just lacking some depth. Ironic, really!.Version: 1.0

Very nice!I love that you are trying something a bit different! This game is undoubtedly beautiful as people have already said. I get that some are dismayed at how short it is but you have to remember it's a £2.50 app, not a £50 Xbox game! Although I've played other games from these guys before - year walk and device 6, both of which do have more puzzles and more of an active storyline - perhaps there is a perfect blend of story, puzzles and looks that has yet to be found. I suppose it depends on your personality and attention span as to whether you will like The Sailors Dream. If like call of duty, this probably isn't for you :).Version: 1.1

Absolutely Phenomenal!!This game is just wow. I think that the girl is in a coma, and she is re-living all of her memories and trying to regain them so that she can wake up from her coma and be free? I think that's it. But I could be wrong! I absolutely LOVE this game and it's soundtrack. The ambience is just fricking phenomenal. Like Oh My God!.Version: 1.1

I Love This ❤Takes 7 Days to Play (Misunderstood Game)I love this it is really a beautiful little piece. But it is totally misunderstood by players. It takes 7 days to play for you need to listen to all the '7 Songs in the Bottle' to get the secret and the songs are sung on daily basis. Also you need to be next to printer so you can print out the hand made sketches so you understand what this is all about. It is a new concept in game play and I love it. You can play different tunes on the different chimes throughout this game. Thank you guys for this, please make more..Version: 1.1

BeautifulA few people have complained that this isn't a game but it is a puzzle. A beautiful, haunting puzzle/story/art experience. This is not action, not shooting but a calm delightful unfolding of a beautiful story. I like shooters too but, unlike some, I can also appreciate gems like this. Thank you for letting me experience this..Version: 1.2

Absolutely beautifulThis is not a traditional puzzle solving "game", not even close. When you "play" Sailor's dream you explore islands, cottages, ruins, etc. just like in a dream. Gradually, and slowly, one can put together the tale of a girl, a woman, and a man. It will take time, and it cannot be rushed. Haunting music, beautiful art, original folk songs accompany the experience. It is not a game, nor is a book or a role-playing adventure. Just a great experience, something completely new that cannot be easily labelled or categorized. Well worth the cost..Version: 1.1

Beautiful gameI loved this game. Thank you for making it! The gorgeous visuals and quiet pace made it a brief haven from life..Version: 1.2

Simogo's done it again.NO SPOILERS HERE. SAFE TO READ. I don't know how 2 people can accomplish so much together, I have, however seen 2 amazing people who have accomplished as much as you could imagine. First off, I must say, the artwork is beautiful, stunning, Simon has clearly outdone himself here. Have you even seen the little junk and islands scattered among the beautiful ocean surface? Beautiful. I took a lot of snapshots from this game. Oh yes, the game. The sailors dream takes place in a kind of surreal ocean world with a great story to tell. A love story. A great storm. A tragedy. I have finished the game but I keep on visiting it to listen to the lovely songs and explore more. Every single time I go into the game, I find something new. It's truly amazing. Your point in this game-project thingy is go through different buildings, finding little objects and what seems to be junk, suddenly becomes a treasure. Most of the story is told through little text boxes, but the story is also told through transmissions and songs. You move around in this weird world by swiping the screen, much like you would in year walk, but a bit like device 6, because you need to read the text to understand the story fully. Also, make sure you check into the game every hour to here one of the old mans transmissions, which also shape the story. Everything here has a story to tell. Also, check back into the game every day to listen to a beautiful song, by Jonathan Eng and sung by Stephanie Hladowski, if you where wondering. You can then listen to these songs over and over again in the seven songs cottage. Anyway, I should wrap this up. Simogo's new game-project thingy is amazing, with a great story, great characters, great music and great artwork. And just in case I missed anything, everything else is great too. This is another great game from a great studio, and should be seen as one of the best on the App Store, massive should all their other games. The only problem I found was it was short. That's it. So don't dont listen to all the 1 star reviews about this amazing game and listen to me, Simogo have created yet another amazing game which you should get and play now. Thanks for reading..Version: 1.1

Highly PolishedAs expected from this publisher, another brilliant experience..Version: 1.0

Experience of hard workVisually stunning, interesting mix of song, site and sound, strangely drawing seems to change with each visit , strangely beguiling, strangely charming, strangely captivating, a lot of work has gone into this experience, not sure where it's going or really care.......just enjoy the sail.....Version: 1.0

Different experienceI'd read the reviews so wasn't expecting a game as such. In my experience this was a perfect app for a shortish plane journey. Took my mind off being in a tin can in the air and let me make spooky music and listen to much better music made by someone else. It's quite beautiful to look at, although only a short experience as others have said. If forced to choose, I'd pick Year Walk ahead of Sailor's Dream, but it's a lovely app all the same..Version: 1.0

Challenging, fleeting... yet still somewhat lackingI really do love so much about this experience. It really is magical, yet fleeting... the challenge is in the mind. The puzzle as it were is the story... learning what it is, and piecing it together. With patience and humility. I adored the atmosphere, the sound design, the ambience... once again Simogo get it spot on. There is, however, some hesitation in a five star review. The printing elements.... I adored. It added such a tangible wonder to the experience. But, I had to install some software which took multiple attempts to make my laptop an airprint bridge to my printer. Most people won't be able to do that and will lack that experience. And when all is said and done... I felt underwhelmeed. An initial rush of excitement and wonder left quite quickly once you understand the story. It failed to surprise after this. You do need patience and a sense of the puzzle being in your head rather than prescribed to you. The person who said they completed it in an hour is categorically, 100% not telling the truth. As you can't. It saddens me to see someone say they tried it for just five minutes, that it’s “pointless” and then give it a bad review. What’s the point of listening to music or looking at art? So sad that because someone can’t get coins or trophies and constant confirmation of “success” that they can’t lose themselves in something wonderful for a moment. Instead as they aren’t gratified in moments they must punish the author for creating something and daring to try and entertain us. That is tragic..Version: 1.4

One of a kindThis is really an extraordinary way of telling a story through text, visuals, and music, on an app carefully designed for the iPad/iPhone. I suggest reading the description of the app first, including all the quotes from the major companies, just so you know what your getting into. I just want to add that there's no real 'puzzles' in this 'game' per say. There's a couple wonderful secrets for sure, but when I saw a room full of interesting things to interact with, I expected them to also be some kind of puzzle that I had to solve. They're not. They're just there to make some fun sounds/music. Honestly, in the the end, when you do make it to the credits, the experience will leave you touched and satisfied..Version: 1.3

Unique and enjoyablePretty short, but definitely worth getting at the 0.99 sale price.Version: 1.2

What is it for ?Is it a puzzle ? Is it an adventure ? I do not think so ! But deserves **** nevertheless. Ideal to give it a try if I want to have my afternoon snooze - pretty reliable for that..Version: 1.1

AmazingA secret world, much like the cloud castle you imagined in your youth. After exploring all the locations, more secrets are to be found. At every hour, go to transmission horologe to see what the old man has to say. Listen to the songs in the bottle every day of the week, and one last area will be added to your map. Sail there to reach the end. More an experience than a game, exactly what I was looking for. Beautiful graphics and songs, thumbs up for the creativity. Amazing soundtrack available on iTunes.Version: 1.1

BeautifulBeautiful, but too short. Would have loved it to go on for a lot longer..Version: 1.0

🍃Very calming. Helps my brain calm from thinking too much. Whoever hates this game, doesn't understand the point of this app..Version: 1.2

Be PatientThe reviewers stating that this is a short game have not been patient enough! As in 'Year Walk', this is a game that rewards patience. The slow reveal of hidden information cannot be hurried. Enjoy!.Version: 1.1

Not really a game, but does it matter? To criticize The Sailor's Dream for "not being a game" is a crime against what this app truly is. In the traditional sense, no I suppose it is not a game. There are no levels, no achievements, no puzzles. The only objective is to find out about the story. If you don't have the patience to drift around a sea of dreams playing with knick knacks and discovering lost memories, then this game is not for you. However, if you want to take the time to listen to the old sailor, to discover the girl's memories, and to hear the woman's songs so that you can find out what really happened in the house on the cliff, then by all means, set sail. So no, The Sailor's Dream isn't a game. It's an experience. It's a place to escape to and explore. To take in. It's a wonderful world filled with long forgotten sighs and sea shanties. And it's a dream where anything could be possible..Version: 1.1

Beautiful dream adventureI just stepped into this beautiful story, which unfolds like a flower opening - a song, a spoken reverie, a forgotten artifact... The exploration of this world is very dreamlike, with blurred beginnings and endings, passageways of unpredictable light and shadow and sounds, and "faraway" places that are not so far away to reach. The story is a little happy, a little sad, a little mysterious. As it unfolds, the same old vignettes give new interest and meaning. I am enchanted with the dream and emotionally connected with the story. No this is not a puzzle game. It's what your mind does with bedtime stories as you slowly peacefully drift into sleep..Version: 1.2

Beautiful, haunting and relaxingA mystical and relaxing journey, a stunning example of how beautiful and immersive a touch tablet game can be. This game has the classic elements of adventure, with puzzles to solve and stories that unfold, but accompanied with enchanting music and imagery. Recommended for busy people who want to escape for a little while into another world..Version: 1.0

BeautifulAn excellent example of how games can tell stories in ways other media can't, it's definitely in my top 5 of the year. It's great to be able to have a game I can give to non-gamers I know and have them explore it and get some of the joy I feel when I'm exploring a game. I think Simogo did an amazing job of bringing their wonderful brand of mystery to a new kind of experience..Version: 1.1

BEYOND BEAUTIFULAmazing graphics whimsical music. Swipe to navigate pick a destination and lose yourself. Become immersed in what you see and hear and leave a little bit altered. Not many games are capable of this. It doesn't feel like a game more of an underworld experience refreshing the psyche. Very talented creators on board for this one..Version: 1.2

Stunning.Reading the description supplied of what the app is about should help you guess if it's for you or not. Maybe I just got lucky. Can understand the one star reviews but not from the info given on the app page..Version: 1.1

Simogo is the Bee's Knees! My wife and I have played Year Walk and Device 6. We thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. We are only partway through The Sailor's Dream, but the story is very intriguing so far. While it may not be what most people consider a "game" we felt compelled to write this review in order to set the record straight. Without spoiling anything, we wanted to let people know that in order to finish The Sailor's Dream, you will need to spend at least one week with it. There's no way to "Finish it in an hour." You will need to come back daily to uncover the entire story. People who expect a quick and mindless "game" will be disappointed. If you're looking for more than that, we believe you will enjoy The Sailor's Dream. My wife and I are patiently waiting for, and looking forward to, each new portion of the story that will unfold over the next few days. We're looking forward to seeing what Simogo does next!.Version: 1.1

Beautiful appI’m not really interested in playing games… I like the curiosity of opening up one door and seeing where it leads and then opening up another and walking down the hallway and finding another opening and seeing where it takes me next. I like a labyrinthine story. This app provides beautiful music along with an interesting mystery story and how you can find different pathways to understanding where the story will ultimately lead you. The artwork is stunning, the flow of the visuals is very naturalistic, slightly nostalgic, eerie like you’re looking where you’re not supposed to. The islands you land on to peruse are so magical and forlorn, like the music. It’s a beautiful app, but it’s not for gamers. It’s an app to enjoy the art, music and the mystery and where it might lead you. Other than a Year’s Walk and Device 6, it’s unfortunate that they haven’t been able to create more apps with stunning visuals, thrilling plot pathways with gorgeous music..Version: 1.4

To good to be trueI've always loved these types of puzzle/adventure games, this particular uses many aspects of the iPad which many people haven't thought of. The music fits the game very well. Please download this, I recommend it to anyone..Version: 1.2

Still Enchanting. The Sailors Dream is less of a "game" and more of a place to escape into and get lost. Its meant for you to take it as it presents itself with no preconceived notions. It's a beautiful story told in a really wonderful way as you piece together the parts it gives you. Just allow it to be what it is, unwind and enjoy. This really is well done, and while I do prefer to have a hand in progressing the story by figuring out puzzles, or having a sort of gameplay, when you just immerse yourself in it and let it wash over you like a wave, you forget about all that and receive it as a beautiful experience that tells a deep story. Everything Simogo makes is a stand alone gem, allot goes into what they create and I'm very happy to pay to experience these works..Version: 1.1

A Beautiful ExperienceFirst off - this is not a game. There are no enemies to defeat or even puzzles to solve. This is an experiment in storytelling using game-like mechanics. Basically, imagine a version of Bioshock where all you did was explore the environment and find audio records and text that fleshed out the world. If that sounds boring to you, this is not your game and that's fine. The story told here is simple and melancholic and quite beautiful. The game also makes great use of the fact that this is a game situated on your phone as some objectives can only be achieved at certain times or on certain days. Not for everyone, but I loved it. A wonderful example of the unique ways video games can be used to tell a story..Version: 1.4

A really, really, really misunderstood game.Yes, I picked this game up a long time ago, yes I heard it takes time, yes I tried it and promptly deleted it after trying to figure out what the heck I was playing. I understand you. And because I understand you, I must insist that you don’t drop this game. I picked it up again with the intent of not playing a game, but watching experiences unfold before me and exploring the mind of this “sailor"…that changed everything. From the beautiful visual imagery down to the intriguing memories displayed in vivid text…I really fell in love with this up. There’s so much to discover and ample clues to discover it with. All the memories can be explored in any order and in any direction (you explore places)…but they are still seamlessly connected. The game itself, takes about a week to unfold…and this is why: TIME IS RELEVANT. The hours you open it, the day you open it, it is all relevant to the progression. You have to collect memories and songs, and only then will you wake up from this sailor’s dreams. It’s haunting yet beautiful, optimistic yet sad, colorful yet jaded…it can be quite an emotional experience if you let it. This game won’t be for everyone, but if you’re like me… you may have dropped it at first, but perhaps instead of making the game approach us, we should approach it on its own terms..Version: 1.1

Not a game, but an experienceI have no history with the devs beyond this title, but I think a lot of people are missing the forest for all the trees. Yes, this is a rather brief experience, but it well worth the price. It's a story, a melancholy one, but one well presented in a very personal way. To fully experience it it will take a full week, assuming no tampering with the clock, but each visit is somewhat short. But as another chapter unfolds you'll find yourself wanting to revisit the notes in the game, as well as the songs. They all support each other, tell another perspective, and are woven together wonderfully. All told, I enjoyed this, and will be revisiting it from time to time. Bravo to the devs for thinking outside of the box!.Version: 1.1

Good, but way too short. Its a good ambient experience but dont buy it if you want any length at all. I completed it in one setting that was easily under an hour, and I wasnt rushing or skipping anything. If you want a quick story where all you do is touch and drag then sure, buy it but if you actually want a game that lasts and has replay value dont get it. DEFNITELY not worth 4.99..Version: 1.1

The Sailor’s DreamThank you for this..Version: 1.3

Surprisingly short, but beautifully craftedI love these little explorations into a fictional story, told through charming music and beautiful interactive art and writing. You are paying to be told and immersed into a story, that only reveals itself to you in small pieces as you explore. I found myself absorbed in the story and emotionally connected to the characters - it is a very sad and moving tale and the original songs written for the game, sung by one of the characters, makes you feel even more connected. It is surprisingly short, but if you allow yourself to relax and to spend time soaking up the atmosphere rather than just trying to 'win', there's a lot to love. If you see games as a commodity and have a baseline expectation of "free", don't buy this, but if you value the time and effort people put into to creating a fictional world through art and music, and enjoy paying to support them, you will enjoy this..Version: 1.1

Amazing-an OHM in an app! This is a gorgeous work of art offering simple meditative asylum in today's troubling times. I think it's fantastic, albeit ironic, that an app is being used to take us to a world where technology has very little meaning or importance. Peaceful, wistful music, stunning artwork & meaningful narrative-all the bells & whistles of what we expect from the word "app" stripped away, leaving us with our own thoughts & feelings. Thank you Simogo for redefining the word "game" & for showing us there can be more to it than points, boss battles & jump scares. I loved making music with cubes, distorting sound with gems or letting fireflies out of their jars. There really IS no "end game" here but, as any sailor can tell you, the joy's not just the destination, but in the journey itself..Version: 1.2

StunningHowever I have to agree that this is way too short for the price you pay for this game. But still, it's beautiful & relaxing. Some of the songs I actually like which is a bonus!!. I wish that you could do more in the game for example searching for the clues yourself instead of it being done for you then that way you'd have more sense of achievement. Graphics etc were pleasant enough & I'm sad that now I will have to delete it after such a short time after purchase 😪.Version: 1.1

Not a game. Interactive storyBeautiful graphics & songs. There is no game play.Version: 1.2

Beautiful and imaginativeTo all the people who wrote negative reviews, maybe you should read the description of an app before you purchase it. The description here is very clear about what it is and what it is not. So if it's not what you thought it would be, it's your own fault and no one else..Version: 1.1

Interactive storyThis isn’t like most games — it’s more of an interactive story that unfolds over time, literally. You have to open the app on each day of the week and at different times of the day to get each piece of the story. The graphics and soundtrack are lovely and aptly dreamlike, and the story is quite melancholy — this is a great “game” to open late at night before bed, or in quiet, meditative moments. All of the 1-star reviews were left by people looking for a different kind of experience and feeling disappointed when their expectations weren’t met, and they’re not really fair assessments of the app itself..Version: 1.3

Finer minds will appreciate. This isn't T-pain's smule voice changer and this isn't angry birds. I feel compelled to write on behalf of this ground breaking new medium of art frankly because it touched me. The music is melancholic and haunting and I felt myself becoming close to the characters in a way that only a great book can, or perhaps a great new app. I hope more artists and story tellers will take note and also be inspired to tell their narrative in this new medium. Bravo to the creators and all artists involved..Version: 1.1

Beautifully Told Story And Amazing Music! When I first went through this I kept thinking "Jeez, this music is great! Where's the soundtrack?" And I was very pleased to find one on iTunes. My point is, the game was beautifully done from the graphics to just the design of it all. Just the smoothness of the design and it's almost mysterious element makes me go back for more. The story, although it's told in bits and pieces, is intriguing. You really have to explore everything to know every side of the story, even the music! It does require someone that enjoys going back and taking their time with things to enjoy this specific style of game. It's well worth it if you do. I do have to admit that I was a bit let down that there isn't more to it, but going back through the game and revisiting all of the parts make you appreciate it more. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the tale The Sailor's Dream spun for me along with stunning graphics and an amazing soundtrack..Version: 1.1

Strange gameI thought I had completed it in just under an hour and thought it was a bit short. But then I read up about the game and apparently there is more content that is unlocked depending on the time of day and day of the week that you play. And apparently you have to keep coming back to the game to uncover the entire story. If this is the case then I'll reserve final judgement until I see all the story. So far it has been amazing. So it gets a 4 stars from me for what I've experienced so far and for the promise of more of the same as I keep coming back to it. My rating may change if/when I actually uncover the whole story behind the game..Version: 1.1

BeautifulA lovely, relaxing adventure. Works wonderfully on my iPad and iPhone 6..Version: 1.0

Does not startI have a iPad Pro large but this app does not start after a double click. It changes the screen to portrait and then dies. Refund please. Update: The developer has fixed this problem so I have changed t four stars..Version: 1.4

A spectacular story with an amazing scoreI've always been a sucker for a good soundtrack, and The Sailor's Dream does not disappoint. The interface is unique and memorable, and really contributes to the tragic story told through what is left behind. Easily worth your time and money..Version: 1.2

Simply beautifulIt is a beautiful game. It reminds me of reading a game novel. While it may be boring to someone, it is certainly one of the best games in its class..Version: 1.0

Unexpectedly enjoyableOn reflection, using interactive sound waves in place of sea waves is pretty clever. The 'music toys' in this design (more art than game, really) can, in rooms like the Lunar area, be used to accompany the soundtrack with improvisations. No points are gained (unless there's a precise sequence of notes I'm yet to discover), but it's fun in the same way exploring a beach or improvising music with friends is fun. This could be said to be the weakness of Simogo's design - sea songs are traditionally shared, but there's no facility for improvising with others in this design. The fragments of places and narrative combined with the illuminated tones and chimes creates the atmosphere of a ballad or sea shanty. The design encourages users to revisit the seascape regularly. It's a concept both precisely timed and leisurely timeless. I confess to bafflement the first time I opened 'The Sailor's Dream'. However, the beautiful seascape and songs enticed me to return. It's a calm and serene place to visit..Version: 1.1

Perfect bedtime exploration gameThe Sailor's Dream doesn't require lightning reflexes, managing inventories, or level grinding. Instead, it is a game that presents a story for you to find and piece together at your own pace. With lovely music, a rich narrative, and a simple interface, The Sailor's Dream is a relaxing yet intriguing time. It doesn't ask for much and greatly rewards the player's time..Version: 1.2

Take 'another' bow SimogoStunning. It makes me ask 'what', 'why' and 'how'... Quality and daring development. Stunning..Version: 1.0

A fine diversionTo those who say it isn't worth $5 must be pretty poor indeed..Version: 1.1
