✓ Enemy balance is a huge hit or miss.Within 5 minutes, you have the chance to be plagued by monsters that easily overpower your new born hero and somewhat powerful ones. Consider the fact that while you can potentially get 9 or 10 attack near the start of the game, some enemies start with 9 attack as their base + whatever their dice roll is. There is no way of making progress once they appear..Wow13uyVersion: 1.0.3

✓ OK but unbalancedI like the concept of this game and at first really enjoyed it. But then I started experiencing how unbalanced the battles are. There is one enemy in particular (not even a boss) that starts with 9 base attack plus dice rolls. It is nearly impossible to beat him, you’d have to be lucky enough to win the lottery, and he instantly kills you. Try as you might, you can never build your attack stats to a 9 base stat. If there was some kind of bonus when you died, like your stats get stronger each time, it would work. But as it is, I don’t like this game anymore and deleted it, even though I bought all the IAPs. Tower of Fortune is much better, you can actually progress in that one. I don’t recommend this game..WRS15743Version: 1.0.10

✓ Rocks fall, you dieHonestly it's a good concept, but unfair. I feel cheated for my money I spent on this game. You roll and lose all your gold, you starve and then death kills you, or you dance with the dead and they kill you. Everything just kills you. I honestly really enjoyed game stew games. ✓ Perhaps I'm missing something...Let me start by saying that I love difficult games, and am completely comfortable with high stakes. I'm happy to die again and again if I'm given the opportunity to succeed by virtue of my decisions. However, this game is mostly on rails, with very little choice for the player of what to do next. Within minutes of beginning each game I encounter a relentless enemy with a +9 to every attack. If I spend $1 more to get a character that rolls two dice in combat, I have a miniscule chance to win if I roll boxcars. The game forces me around a circle so that I cannot avoid encountering the same enemy again and again until I'm dead. Serious rage quit. Deleted..MosesPrayVersion: 1.0.5

✓ Like good stew + food poisoning.All of the Game Stew titles are great. But they all seem to suffer from unnecessarily tediously-slow game play. How many times I'm forced to watch the same animation or read the same narrative text, written letter by letter across my screen - my thumb wants to tap-to-skip, but no luck. Add this to how entertainingly* easy it is to die in these games and I have never finished a single Game Stew title. I'd love to give all of the titles 5 stars. ✓ Please fix the bug.It's a good game and somehow addictive. But a bug happened after my camp was destroyed and I was ambushed in the camp. No dice I can use to continue the game. Even after reloading, it happens again. It's frustrating since I tried hard to play and managed to level up to ATK 8 and now it's gone. Please fix the bug..Time traveler 007Version: 1.0.2

✓ What a rip!!!I was keen to play this as I thoroughly enjoyed the "Tower of Fortune" series, but to my dismay, "Legacy" is just way too difficult. I played the first area multiple times and almost always lost to bad dice rolls, and once I finally thought I got somewhere it bugged out and lost the only progress I made since I bought this! ✓ Mediocre Talisman cloneDo you like dice-ing your way around a board to victory? Then this will hook you, at least for the few hours it will take to beat it. Here's why it only gets 3 stars: - There's no tutorial. Basic mechanics (re-rolls cost 100 gold, the first board is a hub world, poison, whether you lose progress when you leave an area, etc.) are not explained. - The developer posted on a forum telling players to check the company's Facebook to find out how dangerous various areas are. Why not just TELL the player how dangerous the area is when you ask if he wants to enter it? (Start with the Mermaid area, NOT the Lake Town that you'll run across first) - There are interesting story quests (with nice art), but character improvement is mostly limited to increasing your health and attack bonus. All the interesting, situational bonuses are character-specific. And most of the characters have to be purchased with real money. - I've reached the penultimate area, and the game has become a real slog. The Dragon Cave's events can do up to 3 damage at once, and even some of the "good" results reduce your health. You can't choose to save your expensive swords for boss fights, so you have to spend extra money to fly straight to them. When you return to the main area to lick your wounds and grind gold, a super monster jumps around the board and damages your castle, requiring expensive repairs..TartrazineVersion: 1.0.1

✓ I want to love this game...I adore Game Stew and want nothing more than to love everything they put out. But, as good as this game is, the few game-play flaws detract from the overall enjoyment. The good: Ancient Legacy is a wonderful combination of board game (read: dice-based fun) and RPG (level-up to take on greater challenges, and build even better shops). The playable classes are varied and add new elements to the gameplay. A fun little game overall. The bad: there are a few gameplay flaws which are frustrating. As an example, the "switch dice rolls" mechanism sounds great at the onset, but when you have spent much time and effort creating a powerful character, you end up not being able to win in the end. There seems to be no way of countering, and you end up having no opportunity to continue forward (especially since monsters that aren't defeated continue to plague the game). The stronger you become (which is a necessity to continue further in the game), the more assured you are to lose when your attack numbers are switched. While this may seem trite, it's an example of ideas great in concept, but lacking in play. Final word: This is a nice middle-of-the-road game. Not bad but not great. Game Stew has nothing to be ashamed of, but the game just doesn't rise to their normal level of greatness.TheVergeVersion: 1.0.1

✓ Worst Game Stew game yetI've enjoyed several of their other games, and looked forward to trying this one. I now regret it. There are too many things in the game that will instakill you with no opportunity to survive. Even if you have gold, you only get one reroll, and if you're unlucky, then any progress you've made goes up in smoke. Save your time, don't play this game.
