For the last few night I’ve been playing the game with my 5 and 7 year old at the end of the day. We’ve loved the game. ✓ Shiver me timbers, it's a bargain and you won't be disappointed!Ahoy! Stumbled on this app when unwell and looking for a distraction. Did not expect to uncover this quirky little gem and at such a bargain price. For less than the cost of a Aye Ching candle Point-and-click fans will covet it along side the ingenious Monkey Island and Broken Swords. With expertly written, witty dialogue, (no surprise there when creator is none other than award winning comedian Alistair Beckett King) puns, banter and a few north eastern homages just for good measure. Plenty of tricky, but not mind blowingly difficult puzzles too to keep you hooked and plot enough for a generous camp ground. Don't be put off by not having traversed Nelly's first adventure, this is a fiendish plot twist, as it hasn't been released for iOS. It was built as a gift to his girlfriend, you can download it free (search for Nelly Cootalot: Spoonbeaks Ahoy) but why not jump straight to the really good stuff with the sequel. You will find all you need within, including kleptomania only rivalled by Rincewinds luggage. Join Nelly and Dr Who ...er, I mean Sebastian (voiced by Tom Baker) as they crusade, with a top notch cast, on a quest for the lost treasure, fighting the nefarious Captain Widebeard and his demonic monkey companion. Easy to use interface works great on my iPad Air, help feature might be useful on iPhones as it highlights clickable spots. My only sadness being in my excitement I completed the game in two days... now eagerly awaiting the next swashbuckling chapter. There will BE another chapter right Alasdair? It reminds me of Monkey Island, but original in its own right. The dialogue is very entertaining and the puzzles are fun. My suggestion to the designers, move the "?" icon somewhere easier to access. The game played well 90 percent of the time on my iPad, however I couldn't get past a glitch at the end which kinda created an anticlimax for the finish.I did have to check with a walk through to diagnose the problem. I didn't want to get my hopes up when I first saw it because I was worried it might be a really short, low budget quality boring game (I'll always buy a Point n click adventure game no matter what).... but I was pleasantly surprised!
