✓ Depressingly difficult to masterSadly, for a mere mortal with average skills, this game is impossible to master and get past the poor little guy being killed by a polar bear - endlessly. ✓ Not for young kids or for meI can see where they were going with this, but here are my criticisms in calling this a game for kids: 1. the text is read in Inuit, maybe and you have to read subtitles. I think that's cool, but it's not going to work for my seven year old beginning reader. 2. The first thing that happens is that you are chased by a scary and realistic polar bear. ✓ Very short gameplayAs a non-gamer, it took me a week to complete this game. I’m sure more advanced gamers would be able to get through this in half that time or less. As such, the game takes very little time to complete so that’s a definite drawback. It’s easy to get bored. Also, for non-gamers like me, the controls are not that easy to use. You have to have very precise timing and movement in order to get the characters to do what needs to be done or else you’ll be stuck in one puzzle for ages. That can be very frustrating. Also didn’t particularly like how quickly this game drains my phone battery. It makes my phone overheat so quickly. ✓ Sweet storyline, lovable characters, finicky controlsThis is a gorgeous game. It’s obvious the developers put a lot of love and energy into this game. I loved the inclusion of the spirits as a key element of the game. However, as others have said, the controls are super finicky right when you need them to be reliable. When I try to do a wall jump to escape a polar bear, I really need the jump button to work properly every single time. Unfortunately, my frustration over the controls was such that I had to quit playing and won’t get to experience the end of the story for myself. ✓ Nice game but dreadful controls!This is graphically a very good game and adds some interesting gameplay (e.g. controlling two characters and interacting with 'spirits') to what is basically a standard platform game. However, the controls in this game are awful! Virtual joysticks don't work well in any games that use them, but in this game the virtual joystick 'floats' during use as well (when you move the 'stick' too far the whole joystick repositions itself). This is extremely frustrating! I actually got so annoyed that I gave up after completing about 80% of the game. ✓ Great game/Bad ControlsNever Alone on iOS is the same lovely game you can play on pc or console (albeit with some minor performance issues, mainly stutter, on my 6+). What really diminished this port for me was one of the worst virtual analogue sticks in recent memory. Often the stick will be pointing left/right only for your character to move in the opposite direction. Very frustrating in some sections (though the game is not at all challenging for the most part) and it doesn't feel responsive at all. A fixed position might improve this but it definitely needs work. Edit: I now have a bug whereby, in a section where I have to swim upward, the analog stick firstly does not work and then disappears entirely. So I can't progress at all now..Denzil2000Version: 1.0

✓ Great graphics but horrible controlsI loved the details and the characters, however i got up until the last chapter before the epilogue when the controls started to really mess up. It also messed up the other game and controls outside of the app. Almost as though a virus had gotten in and stopped my phone from functioning properly. ✓ Good game, terrible controlsThis would be an outstanding game that you would recommend to everyone IF the controls and motions were not so finicky. In very quick parts of the game you have to have exact movements. You will literally die a dozen times in a row trying to jump across one ledge because you don’t have it exactly right. Further frustrating you will be the fact that once you meet part two of your companion, the joystick control will continually stick in one direction. Forcing your companion to go that way until the control unsticks or you point another direction. I was initially have a great time with this game in the beginning and I really enjoyed it! ✓ Pretty game but it's keeps losing all my progressI really like this game. It's pretty and stunning and I had a lot of fun playing it and solving the puzzles. But twice now I have gone into the game and it has crashed and when I return into the game all my progress has disappeared. I have paid £3.99 for this game and I am unimpressed that it has wiped my progress twice, and on the recent one I was close to the ending as well. This needs to be fixed before I play this again. ✓ Cool game but don't buy itThe game has great graphics, storyline, and characters but theres so many things wrong with it. The first problem is it's really confusing on how to play. Every chapter there's a new things to learn about the controls. The controls are also really wonky. The second thing is that it's kind of expensive for what it's actually worth. The game is kind of like a demo it's not complete. The third and final thing I will be stating is it's a short almost demo type game. After you finish the chapters it takes you back to the start and you just replay the game there's not another level there's not another story it's just the same story over and over. If you can play the game any other way than through this app do it, as the controls RUIN the whole experience. When I'm playing one character I'll have gotten past an obstacle successfully, but then the other one won't even though the AI is meant to be controlling that character. Trying to get the fox to climb anything can be extremely frustrating, and a lot of the time when I want a character to jump they don't, and instead just fall off. Aside from the subject matter, which would make an engaging documentary or animated piece, just as a game- It's very pretty graphically, and has an interesting story. This game is incredible - amazing graphics, good story, and the cultural insights were really cool.
