Tally: The Anything Tracker for Positive User Reviews

ALMOST PerfectPerfect isn't a word I use often for an app, so that this one is very nearly there is a rarity for me. My challenge: I want to be able to record when something occurred, all instances of when it occurred, notes for outliers and the last time that event occurred. I also need to be able to export that data for review elsewhere for review. Tally does all of this and more. Additional features I'd like to see (and be willing to pay above the Tally: Premium fee. 1. To be able to enter a time when entering a previous occurrence 2. Change the bottom text on the dashboard to choose the "last occurrence" instead of "last update". So if I forgot to update "Bought Mom Flowers" when it happened two days ago I could enter and the dash would show "2 days" instead of "0 minutes" ago. 3. Adding items to "groups" and filter based on "group" Cheers for an app that now lives prominently on my home screen!.Version: 1.4

Easy to UseThe best habit tracker app I’ve found that suits me. A simple, minimalist tracker that has reminders not only for each specific habit but general ones are accessible through the settings page, graphs to represent progress over a week, month and year And offers flexible goal setting.Version: 1.13.1

Measurable progressLove how Tally tracks and is so simple to use! I use it everyday to master core habits in growing my business and and success principals across life!.Version: 1.11

Addictive and productiveI love the simple interface of this app and prefer it to all the other apps in the bundle, so paid extra for this one on its own. It’s well worth it because I have so many categories, habits, victories and losses to tally - it’s so satisfying to hear the sound when it tallies too. You might not see the progress bar like in the app “done” but you still can see the visual graph of things you’ve tallied. It’s really motivated me to keep up good habits and be aware of the extent of my bad habits, in turn pursuing them less. I just wish there was an option to create more colors, hence the 4 stars..Version: 1.13.1

The Best Tally AppLook nowhere else, this is the app you want!.Version: 1.16.1

OkishI loved this app when I first got it, but then realised it will only let you add 3 goals before you have to subscribe. It’s ok if you only want a few goals but otherwise you may have to consider the subscription..Version: 1.13.1

Great app for tracking anythingEasy to tally one of anything and also easy to add any number, even with decimals. Two oddities: it always thinks it’s today when you open the app. Even if you are still looking at yesterday. It also lets you look at previous months and years if you are reviewing graphs for all tallied items, but won’t let you go back if you are only looking at a specific item. Hope they fix those someday and also let you export or back up your data like the earlier versions did..Version: 1.21.8

Excellent appReally helpful app, especially the premium one. Simple and easy to use. You can add as many habits as you want, it’s got different colours for quickly identifying the habit you want to score in, and you can add goals to each one. The way it’s organised gives real speed of use whilst recording as much detail as you need. Love this app..Version: 1.24.0

Wonderful App except one issueWonderful app! A beautiful design, easy to use, lovely layout and concept and a good way to keep track of habits and tasks. However/ sadly whenever I tried to have the widget on the screen it would only be blank saying the widget would say there’s no habits?? So I could never see it on my main screen which was one of the main things I was looking/hoping for.Version: 1.22.1

Perfect habit tracking app!For my needs this is the perfect habit tracking app - it’s simple, easy to use and looks fab!.Version: 1.13.1

Exactly what I neededThis app is exactly what it says it is. The UI is intuitive and easy to use and the widget is handy. I love the visualization of the data. It’s just perfect. The only minor glitch is when you press the plus sign in the widget and the app isn’t running in the background it will open up and then immediately crash. However, if the app is running it’ll work well. Hopefully in the future the the developer will make it work without opening the app at all. But I digress. 5 stars all the way..Version: 1.22.1

Almost perfectAmazing app for tracking anything and everything, pristine interface and incredibly user friendly. Only thing that is missing for me personally is having the ability to review your stats in different formats. I use a similar app which offers a pie chart stats review option which I find easier to digest visually, not to mention it looks cool. Great app keep up the good work 👍.Version: 1.7

Great AppReally useful and intuitive app. Easy to figure out the various options and it works across phone and watch. Only improvement I would like is the ability to decrease or increase within the same count, I haven't found a way to do that..Version: 1.14

Optimisable!Amazing adaptable app. Great for daily counts of things that might be more than just a simple yes/no answer. Would love to see it use your Apple ID to sync info across devices and with Siri shortcuts to make it easier to tally..Version: 1.8

SuperbClean, minimal, functional, elegant and stylish. Best of all, the Watch app works well and sync is better than many other apps trying to do similar things. The only thing I’d add is the ability to set a target that you’re trying to keep under, like calories for example, and having some way of visualising a streak of having stayed below that number. Perhaps this feature exists, but I couldn’t find it. This is more a feature request than a complaint, because even the free version is superb..Version: 1.13.1

PerfectJust what I was looking for - spot on, well done with this - definitely worth paying the upgrade..Version: 1.4

A very helpful app!I would recommend using this app. It’s very easy to use. I love the simple and aesthetically pleasing interface. Love the personalisation options. It’s helped me become more productive in my life and I feel like I have more control of things. Thanks for creating this app!.Version: 1.13.1

Practical app!I think this app is so practical & useful. You can keep daily count on everything.. Like, squats, push ups.. also coffee cups, cigarettes or anything you find a bit difficult to keep track of how.. Great!.Version: 1.5.1

Brill app!I’d been searching for an app that will keep track of count and time of occurrence and that will reset daily but keeps history. This is just the app. Shame I didn’t know what to search for. It was by pure luck I stumbled upon this. Absolutely brilliant!.Version: 1.13.1

EasyEasy to use. Well built app.Version: 1.9.1

Great but...This app is great. Really clean and simple. However if you accidentally tap and add an extra count there is no way that I can see to undo it. Instead I had to reset the tally which meant I lost the dates that the tally had been counted on. If there is a way to do this, I will definitely edit my rating because it really is a lovely app..Version: 1.14

Literally Changing My Life!!This app is literally changing my life for the better... no BS. Every single day I use it to score myself against my New Years resolutions. Absolutely LOVE this app. Thanks to Kev Rose for the tip!! ASK: if you want me to be a walking advertisement of Tally, PLEASE ad feature to show/hide multiple groups. Right now you can only show ALL or show one group. I’d like to show all of my groups except one... not possible! So I literally can’t show people the app to brag about it... as one group includes my private goals... that I don’t want people to see..Version: 1.9.1

Needs a fortnight optionThis app has daily, weekly, monthly and yearly, but surprisingly, since a whole lot of people are paid fortnightly, there is no fortnight option 🤔.Version: 1.12

Lovely app but NEEDS easy but important fix!I love this app and am a premium user. Everything is really lovely but the app freezes completely when I double tap the number on the event I want to track. If I tap it slowly it works fine. I have an OCD about little things like that and hope you guys can fix it in the future update (My device: iPhone 11 Pro)..Version: 1.13

Nice little appReally liking tally just now but I bit sad that my notes feature isn’t currently working meaning I have to use two apps. Once that’s fixed it will be great !.Version: 1.18.0

AmazingThis app is perfect. I’m a song writer/producer so the 10,000 hours theory is very important to me. This is helps me keep track of how many hours I’ve spent on my music each day until I finally reach 10,000 hours. The app is simple and has a very clean look. The only suggestion I have would be to add widgets, this app would fit perfectly with widgets..Version: 1.16.1

Developers! Please contact me!Hi! Love the growth bundle. I deleted it off my phone and now I can’t restore my purchase. I paid for the lifetime of the apps. l will consider removing more stars if I can’t get in contact. I have emailed you, but no luck. Will also add a star if we can fix this issue..Version: 1.21.3

Great App but glitchyBought this app and it doesn’t exactly what it should... Well it should! Half the time when you try to add a count to a tally it just doesn’t add it. Very small glitch but it extremely frustrating as you do it then you do it again and it counts it twice?! Small but that would make this review a 5 star.Version: 1.4

PerfectI am using this to track my monthly migraines / headaches / pain medication. It’s so simple and so effective. Much better than migraine specific apps for what I need to do. Love the design and the sounds. Perfect..Version: 1.14

5 stars!Excellent app, extremely motivational and beautiful interface! Highly recommended..Version: 1.9.1

It’s a smooth app but not for everyoneI purchased this in a “growth bundle” with a bunch of other stuff along with “time page” and “actions” and also “Done”. The bundle is completely redundant and all tho it’s great to find what you like best, no one could use all of them or you would have no life cuz you’d just be documenting all the time😕. The apps are all smooth and beautiful and fun but just too much. You’ll end up just picking one or two. I kept DONE and Timepage. I let the growth bundle go tho. This particular one Tally is an easy fun and colorful way to keep count of anything you want and I found no problems in the way in which it worked. 👍🏼.Version: 1.10

Awesome App!!!I love this app. I have always known I need to track my habits and am working on several habit changes right now. I love how convenient this is to use and super user friendly. So far I have been able to do everything I want to on it. The best part is I can see how different habits impact each other. For example, I am working on doing yoga, improving my sleep and eating better. I am rating my quality of sleep using the custom input tally and see that my sleep quality is much better when I do restorative yoga right before bed. Plus I love being able to track habits I am trying to eliminate as well as ones I want to do more of. Less caffeine and processed sugar, more anti-inflammatory meals. This is awesome!.Version: 1.13.1

A lifesaverI’m sitting in the hospital. I’m trying to track a lot of details. I use Tally to track how much pain medicine I get , when I walk, when I change my bandage. Keeping accurate data like this enables me to get insight into what is working and why things are happening. It helps me comply with the doctor’s orders and learn more. This way I can be a more engaged patient and share some responsibility for my care. When I go home, I will have to do many of these things myself for several weeks. I can’t just lay around and wait for a nurse to do things and ensure they are done properly. I really want to heal from my surgery. So I want to track everything I am supposed to do. This app has just the right balance of features like notes, time stamps, target goals, and more. I tried it during my first surgery 3 months ago. I used it a little. But I felt clumsy. But the second time now and I’m a pro at figuring out what to track and how. So be patient with yourself as you learn it. You may not learn all the features at once. It’s obviously good for other uses. This is just my use. And I feel so much more in control of my care..Version: 1.13.1

Seems to work just fineWas just keeping a daily paper tally prior to this but this is nice for seeing trends over the longer term. Simple and effective. Although to early to say on longevity / stability..Version: 1.13.1

Just one annoying glitchWhen i try to add another tally (even with premium version) the only tally that appears is the one i first made, but it acknowledges i have made the group on settings but doesn't appear on the front page of the app.Version: 1.7

Appreciate the convenienceI really like this app and it’s support to holding me accountable for my habits and actions. I upgraded to premium today & I’m happy with being able to create unlimited tally’s. Though there is a bug that is causing my widget to not properly work. I have about 10 tally’s registered in the app but the widget on my Home Screen says “not habits yet, tap to create your first habit”. The widget feature is the most important part about this app and it hasn’t been working for me -1star but otherwise I appreciate the help of this app!.Version: 1.21.14

Great App - Great SupportI've been using the app for a few months and it's been working well for me. I've tried a number of these types of apps and like the interface and behavior of Tally the best. I used the free version for a couple months, and finally upgraded about a month ago so I could create more tallies. I had a bug where the Apple watch app wasn't updating and support quickly reached out to help me (it's resolved and only happened one time, restarting the watch fixed it, and support also mentioned reinstalling would do the trick of a restart didn't.).Version: 1.13.1

Everything I've dreamt of for a habit app!I've tried so many habit apps for exercise, reading etc and they were always just too ugly or not simple enough. This app is perfect. I've had iTunes for 13 years and this is my first review ever written!.Version: 1.4

Stay on track!Love this! Keep you motivated stay on track with!.Version: 1.5

Apple Watch IssueGreat app! On my Apple Watch SE though, I have been unable to add to the tally in the app - I am not sure if this just is not a feature or if it is just a glitch, but if this could be made possible the app would be perfect. 👍.Version: 1.21.0

PhotosIt’d be great if you could add photos tracked craft projects..Version: 1.15.1

RPG RLMake your life an RPG, create your own points and then level them up!.Version: 1.7

Really goodThe interface is easy to use and simple, but the functionality is very flexible. Each tally can track counts or decimal numbers and they are automatically tracked over time. Combined with automatic resets of each count per day, month or year, the app makes it very easy to see progress towards goals and serves as a reminder and log about when activities were last done. I have some small complaints: 1. there seems to be no way to export the data. There are numerous reasons why one might want to do this — to save local backups and to easily input information from the app into other programs are examples. 2. The “group” feature is nice but seems not well-integrated into the user interface. The option to display tallies under common group headings and sort within groups would clean up the interface and make it easier to find each tally. Currently, all tallies are displayed on the home page with no visual separation other than color, and groups seem to only control which tallies are on or off. 3. The links to the feedback and support websites are broken within the app. This makes it seem like the app is no longer supported. Update: Version 1.22.0 adds support for backup to Dropbox and iCloud, which addresses my original complaint..Version: 1.22.0

Great!Love this app, it’s simple design and interface is just great. I customise it to measure 8 it,s each day and with an easy tap it counts for me, just fab! Please could we request iCloud sync across devices, and anilitybto choose how many count tiles appear on the home screen (eg 8 not 6)? Thank you, well worth the upgrade!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.Version: 1.15.1

Sweet & simpleI’ve been searching through apps to keep track of habits/goals for a few days, and finally stumbled upon this one. This app has a beautifully minimal and responsive design and can be personalized to fit anything you want to keep track of. It feels very unique from the standard habit tracker formula on most other apps, which I like a lot. After giving both Tally and Done a shot, I decided to stick with Tally & go for the paid upgrade (I enjoyed the layout/versatility of this one more) and am loving it! The journaling and statistics functions are a big plus for me. I think some nice improvements could be: - having a separate tab for progress on long-term goals - adding new designs/animations for when these goals are met - incorporating more illustrations (they’re beautiful!) or having “Tally” be an interactive character/AI response for daily use of the app.Version: 1.7

A must-have for anyone interested in tracking number habitsOne of my most used apps. Thanks for making a tangible difference to my life 👌🏽.Version: 1.9.1

Pretty looking appCounters are nicely displayed and easy to use. Sadly no way is this worth a recurring $50/year! Not even $17/year on sale. It’s ridiculous that apps have skyrocketed from their $1-3 origins to a cash grab..Version: 1.21.11

Truly one of the best apps I’ve ever used! Love the simplicity!!!Right now I’m using this app to track medications, mine and my pugs. But there are so many other possibilities that I know it will come in handy in other areas of my life. What I love? The simplicity … both in using the app and the uncluttered screen at any given time. Very easy to use with all the information I might want to share with my doctor at a press of the button. Especially for medications that are considered “as needed”. I’ve tried many apps in the past, nothing stuck with me past a few days. They just weren’t user friendly in the way that Tally is. Thank you so much for creating this app! I couldn’t be more appreciative 😊!.Version: 1.22.1

Would be 5 except it’s been changed this weekLoved this app, simple and easy to keep on top of goals. Only thing is it’s been changed this week so it’s less simple. So I’ve averaged out my previous 5 stars and my current 3 stars. However, wondering if it’s an error, as now if I click yesterday for a habit, it no longer shows the count for yesterday (or even for up to yesterday) but still shows total count until today. If this is fixed I will def delete this and put it to 5 stars 😊.Version: 1.20.0

Really useful as a habit former and stat trackerWe primarily use Tally to track stats for our newborn. It’s great for viewing total feeds, naps and hours slept. Much more customisable than more-expensive baby-focused tracking apps..Version: 1.15.1

GeniusI’ve tried many other habit or goal oriented apps that I always stop using as they are overly complicated or take too much effort to use everyday. I had resorted to manual tracking in the calendar app. This app is so simple and I keep thinking of more things to use this for. At first I wished that there was a way to differentiate between things I’m trying to stop vs things I’m trying to do or accomplish but that was easily solved by colour coding (e.g red vs green). And so quick to enter things, literally the tap of a button. I like the graphs to view trends and the ability to make notes. It is really helping me to be mindful of my thoughts, feelings and actions. It can replace several types of apps. You can track goals, lifestyle habits, nutrition, body measurements, spending, mood tracker and probably a lot more. I don’t think I would pay $40 for the app so will cancel if that becomes required, but I think $7.50 was a very reasonable price to pay for what you get..Version: 1.22.1

I like it !! No annoying adverts on free versionUsing the free version which serves as a taster , allows you to track 3 tallies whilst keeping it free from annoying adverts. I will be upgrading to premium !.Version: 1.11

Issues sorted, it’s brilliant again thank youAfter restarting my phone twice, closing and opening the app countless of times it all of a sudden started to work again post update, everything is as it was but enhanced, more tally counters now available and all kinds of improvements. Thank you for coming back to me so fast re issues, luckily this time at least the problem seemed to have sorted itself out :).Version: 1.10

Two free habits is a bit tightUnfortunately you can only have two habits before you need to buy the premium version for about $5..Version: 1.2.2

Simple and effectiveI use this app to track my dogs reactivity and it’s been really helpful. The only issues are, I find the tapping gestures to be quite fiddly and I can’t for the life of me manage to add a note either from the detail or main screen, the dialogue box never pops up. Maybe this is a bug?.Version: 1.21.0

Simple, customisable, good-looking, fantasticNuff said.Version: 1.9.1

A big fan of this appHave yet to find another app that allows for such clean habit tracking. It’s intuitive and rewarding to use daily. The ability to enter notes means I can use it like a journal as well (it also time stamps everything). I even have a counter for ‘mood’ where I can use it as a mood tracker and enter the emoji as a note. On top of this, I was having issues at one point after using the app for a year. I emailed customer support and they replied quickly with a fix that I hadn’t been able to figure out. Appreciate the friendliness of their staff, too!.Version: 1.21.14

Tally is amazing for tracking Trigeminal Neuralgia painI have tried so many other apps and when you are in the middle of an attack and you then go to the doctor and she asks you “how many lightning shocks was it?” I’m always estimating because that is the last thing you want to do when you are getting struck by lightning in the face is go in and answer 20 questions to count something. With Tally I can tap my phone for every shock then download a report to print or email to my doctor! This has helped my treatment so much! This app is amazing, for 4.99 you can customize your Tally buttons and track whatever you want from pain to water intake! I can’t say enough!.Version: 1.11

I got it to count cats but its been a lot more helpful than i thought it'd beIve been using this to count cats i see on walks (fav use for it), keep track of how/when i use public transit (so i know how much per month on average my 10 passes are costing me), and keeping track of when i eat something (since i struggle with remembering to eat)! u can set it to show when the last time u added something was which is wicked helpful and grounding to b able to see, esp for tracking when i eat. u can also increment ur tallies from ur widgets space which has been really nice even if a bit annoying that it opens the app in order to do this. i think some more advanced data analysis/exporting tools would be *really* helpful, but im really enjoying whats here :).Version: 1.21.14

Chronic painGreat idea and works well, just wish we didn’t have to pay for more than 3 tally’s, I use this app for my chronic pain and to keep track of symptoms, I have more than 3 though and would find it useful to be able to track a couple more. Great app otherwise.Version: 1.11

Awesome appIf you like to read reviews before you purchase an app, then you are just like me. This app is simply just awesome. I’ll tell you why I love it and how I use it. I use this app everyday. I use it primarily to track my fitness goals. You can customize the app for many options. I keep track of my pushups, pull-ups, dips and various other exercises. You can see your progress for different timeframes, ie. week month and year. I have one athlete that I train for basketball and I keep track of her fitness progress as well. You can set up a filter so you can see only what you want. I’m am super happy with this purchase..Version: 1.6.1

It’s good but I can’t see exact timeGot premium on the discount. It’s good, and saves time from me manually writing on my journal But I can’t see the exact time each tally was pressed. Can you include an option to export to excel or an option to view individual times?.Version: 1.24.1

Works great, really clean and polishedRecommend.Version: 1.15.1

Paris jIt’s not very user friendly but once you get the hang of it it’s perfect ..Version: 1.7

Good functionality, not so good UXThis app is great once you have set it up how you like. It does exactly what I want, which is to help me count various habits. You can have you tally reset daily or weekly, and it graphs the counts over time so you can watch your progress. My main dislike is the confusing UI. It looks great, but to edit counters (undo accidental press, change the name or colour etc) is really confusing. You have to double tap or long tap or something. I’m still not sure how it works. It would be nice too if you could increment by an arbitrary amount, instead of by 1 or some other pre-determined amount. Sometimes I want to input 2, sometimes 7 or 12 for example. Currently I have to either tap 12 times, or you could set a custom increment so that a single tap adds say 20 to the count, but it’s fixed to that amount so doesn’t work when your count varies a lot. Overall, a good app that works well enough for me!.Version: 1.13.1

Awesome, butI had an apple watch series 3 and I could add a count to a tally on my watch but it won't let me anymore on my series 6.Version: 1.21.14

Best counting app on the App StoreThe best app of its kind. Counts anything, lots of colours, sortable into lists, intuitive and simple layout, and it has charts to show progress over time, which is something I find a lot of the other apps miss. I love it ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💖 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you so so much :))).Version: 1.21.12

Great all around appSo simple and efficient. The 6.99 upgrade for unlimited tallies is so worth it. Just got it and already love it. It’s exactly what I was looking for, super straightforward with zero distractions. Great for minimalists! I love that there are endless uses for this. Personally I use it as a habit tracker app, to track things like working out 6 days a week, eating a salad every day, and stretching before bed every day. But there are so many other uses for this they are practically endless. From reading other reviews I see they are also great for keeping track of stats, numbers, etc. So no matter the use it is perfect. So do yourself a favor - download this app. Get that upgrade. Trust me, it is worth it!.Version: 1.13.1

Don’t changeThis is really good app. Don’t change anything!!! I love it ,.Version: 1.16.0

Empowering in my IndustryThis app is incredibly useful. Data is easy to input, correct, modify, analyze, and maintain for record keeping purposes. I use it to monitor trends based on volume and time, and also as a way to make sure my numbers are in alignment with the numbers managers keep to determine what I properly owe at the end of my shifts. But this app could be used for counting anything really on a daily, weekly, monthly, and/or yearly total. The upgrade is worth every penny. And customer service is exceptionally helpful as well if needed. However, this app is super easy to use and user friendly. Love the widget too!.Version: 1.13.1

Perfect for what I need it for!Love love love this app. Had to figure out how to use the journal (tap in the colored area not the white area) but once I figured that out, I’m all in on this! I have to tally certain things in my job each day and I’m finding this to be the perfect quick tool to do so. Rather than having to pull up a spreadsheet, this is ideal because I have it with me at all times and on my desk to quickly log the things I need to track as they occur. After each month I can then export the entire results to a spreadsheet and submit it. It’s perfect!.Version: 1.9.1

Had problems at first but now I love itI used the free version for a couple weeks but then upgraded for the one time 3.99 fee. I’ve used other goal tracking apps with varying success, but I really like the simple, straightforward nature of this. I choose a goal like eating three servings of produce a day, and I can check my progress each day. You can set it to reset everyday, week, month, year, or never, whatever makes most sense for your goal. When I had a problem I emailed the developers and got an almost immediate response that helped me solve the problem. I find this motivating but not annoying or stressful like some goal setting things I’ve tried. I’ve heard that where performance is measured, performance improves. This app helps me keep track of my performance and progress in things that are important to me. Love it!.Version: 1.8
